Kyril had been planning on returning to Oba when the first wave of sickness hit. Originally she thought that she was simply stressed about traveling again and the idea of leaving Jhin behind along with the stone manor they had fixed up together over the last few months. The hybrid sighed as she tucked her shawl closer, her gaze flickering between everything in the kitchen that they had set up along the first floor. The fireplace was blazing to combat the cold of winter and she found herself relying on it more lately. Sometimes she would get too toasty and would toss the blanket off but lately Kyril just wanted to curl up into a ball of comfort with several quilts around her. It was definitely an adjustment from the warmer winters she had always spent in Oba and Matori, but she was determined to make it through.

[Kyril 1]

“I’m not certain.” Kyril admitted with a small smile. “I tried eating this morning but couldn’t hold down anything and it’s just so cozy over here.” A flush decorated her cheeks as she glanced about at the mess of blankets and pillows piled on the stone floor. It was like she was some sort of animal in a nesting phase. The very thought amused her before she found herself blinking thoughtfully. Surely not. She had been taking special herbs in her tea, but could she have made a mistake? The thought hadn’t crossed her mind before because she didn’t think such a thing was possible, but the more she thought about recent changes the more her suspicion grew.

“Do you think Voltene could visit?” She asked quietly as she kept her gaze on the fireplace, afraid that her expression would worry Jhin. What if it was possible? What did they do then? Kyril chewed on her bottom lip as she silently mulled things over. She hadn’t even made a plan for herself and her parents would be all over wanting to see her and any potential little ones in Matori.

Kyril let out a huff. "You're always so worried." She protested even though she scooted closer so that she could rest her head against Jhin's shoulder. "What if I simply wanted a checkup? Some families schedule regular visits to the healer, you know." Damn. Even the crackling fire seemed to laugh at her for that weak response.

[Kyril 3]

A sigh escaped Kyril's lips. "Why do you have to always pursue the truth?" She stared at the fire while she spoke, her arms curling tightly over her stomach. Normally she would playfully heckle him about being too much of a ranger even when home, but she was simply too concerned about this potential situation. "Honestly? I haven't been feeling well but it's not like I think I'm sick persay…." She began almost shyly, her gaze shifting towards Jhin before going back to the fire once more.

Kyril shook her head. "Not my ankle." She answered with a frown. Did she wish it was something like that? Maybe. She was just so frightened about the very prospect of well….everything regarding a baby. Pregnancy, giving birth, actually raising a child and all of that had never crossed her mind before. Koril was the one better suited for something like a family while she was always caught up in her craft before coming here. "You know I've told you about my large family before, right? " Kyril swallowed tightly. "My parents adored each other but Koril and I were both a surprise….I've been taking teas to avoid such a surprise but I think the gods had other plans." It wasn't completely foolproof which was what her Matori cousin had even warned her about when she left for Belrea but Kyril was still in disbelief that this was actually possible for her. She was even afraid to look at Jhin to see the disappointment on his face. But it was Jhin and he wasn't like that...gods she hated being such a mess of emotions like this!

[Kyril 5]

"I'm sorry." Kyril managed in between sobs. "I don't know why I'm so….so…" She tried to grasp the word before losing it again. Scared? Confused? Happy? Her family adored children and she didn't even doubt that they would adore any that she had. It was just daunting to think she could be a mother. Her own mother was a wonderful, patient woman but could she be anything like that? And her father was such a solid, loving support but she had gone ahead and gotten so involved here without seeing them first. She had even blamed work in Belrea in her letters as her reason for delay instead of telling the truth because she hadn't wanted them to worry over her ….Kyril closed her eyes as she laid her head against Jhin's shoulder and allowed him to rub comforting circles on her back. "I suppose...we should confirm before I continue being a mess." She joked once she regained some control again. "I feel so silly."

[Kyril 6]

"You say that but your eyes are more enchanting." Quipped back Kyril as she tried to lighten her own spirits. All the hybrid woman could do was watch as Jhin left, a few tears still streaking down her cheeks even though now there was a small smile crossing her lips at the thought of a little one with his eyes and some of her features. They would be adorable, that much was granted. Kyril let out a chuckle as she rubbed at her eyes. Was she just being silly worrying so much like this? Everyone in the village was happy that she was here and Jhin was always supportive even when they did sometimes have their disagreements they always learned how to compromise and work through everything. So maybe...maybe being parents was possible.

[Kyril 7]

Kyril swallowed nervously but allowed Votrene to take her hand. "I suppose Jhin explained?" She asked quietly, her amber gaze searching the petite leaf man's expression for any signs of worry as he inspected her pulse.

"He did. You haven't been holding food down well and are more lethargic than usual with a tendency stay down here by the fire." Votrene spoke directly as he held her wrist carefully in his hands, two fingers pressed against her vein. A small smile did cross his lips as he finally let go and took a step back. "Feel free to drink plenty of tea and I'll ask Myra to bring you some stew and some of our preserves. It seems you'll be needing it since you are indeed with child."

"Oh." Kyril simply blinked with surprise before nodding. She had been suspicious but to hear it confirmed...well her whole world was spinning. "Thank you." She finally managed.
