Remarque could only spend so much time in Mirrorspace before he needed a break from the white walls and shifting landscape. There was a comfort in Destiny City; it might not have been predictable, but at least the ground didn’t try to change beneath your feet. Usually.
He’d spent the last hour in Mirrorspace and his eyes burned from the transition of that world to this one.
There were mirrors hidden all throughout the city; he’d chosen to come out into the park just for a bit of fresh air.
Really, it wasn’t surprising that there was a Senshi aura nearby; he’d gotten used to them being everywhere.
Ordinarily, this wasn’t an issue. He’d meander over, talk to them, see what was going on.
Now, he was just tired. He’d wanted a break.
...But then, Mirrorspace was vast and lonely and empty, and it’s not like it would have killed him to see another person. Probably.
It wasn’t safe to stay too close to the mirrors when anyone could track them down and break them, so he prioritized moving away from the patch of bushes and trees to keep the mirror safe. The energy signature was still there though, so he stood for a moment, looked up at the sky, and debated.
He could have left. He could have gone somewhere else. He could have done something else.
Instead, he just brushed himself off one last time and made his way towards the signature.

She was sitting on a cement ledge in the park and chowing down on some watermelon, writing out some cards when an aura crackled near her. Chaos, it proclaimed. Powerful, it proclaimed, and it wasn't moving. So she kept writing, using a toothpick to select the next chunk of melon and popping it into her mouth as she scribbled with a glittery purple pen. The cards she was writing on had all been sealed with some shiny gold wax and an octopus stamp she had gotten off of etsy that she was going to pretend was a fearsome kraken. After all, Scylla owed some apology notes to some of the Dark Mirror senshi, and some thanks to others. She might even thank Acubens, who had covered her and probably gotten in an argument with a few friends. So... yeah, Acubens was going to get a thank you too. The aura wasn't moving, and Scylla, in turn, also didn't move. It was some strange game of chicken, she supposed; were they doing to fight, or live and let live? Eventually, however, the aura moved first, and Scylla lifted the card into the air, sprinkling a little setting sand over the ink to give it a little extra sparkle, and pulling out another card. "If you're in the mood for a fight," she called out to whoever the enemy was drawing near her, "You might want to go another direction. I'm a little busy and inclined towards grumpy, so I won't be particularly considerate. If you come in peace, though, roll on up. Grab a cookie. I didn't make these, they're actually pretty good."

“Not a cookie kinda guy, but thanks,” Remarque answered. He didn’t approach with any visible caution; any outsider might have guessed he was already familiar and comfortable with Scylla as he made his way to her.
Did she always power up for arts and crafts or was this a special occasion?
His raised a brow as he observed her little work station and tried to understand why this would be a convenient place to work on…
Whatever she was working on.
“I’m not looking for a fight. Just passing through. Thought it might be rude to leave without saying hello. Especially since I don’t think we’ve met.”

"Your loss," Scylla told the stranger cheerfully, and cast her gaze over them. Her nose wrinkled before she could stop it, taking in the other senshi, noticing immediately the allegiance. Yeah, her own butt wings were hardly white and floofy, but at least she didn't wear black. His judgmental eyebrow got one in return, before she said "Apology notes. Handmade, for sincerity. A few of your court mates, actually. Take a seat and I'll use you as a delivery boy." Her lips quirked. "Most nights I'd argue with you on the fight but it's been a rough few days. I'll appreciate the manners. I don't think we've met either, you don't look familiar."

Remarque didn’t miss the nose wrinkle, but neither did he seemed particularly offended by it.
“Well, I don’t make a habit of getting into trouble, so that’s really no surprise.”
No, he just didn’t get caught getting into trouble.
Now that she’d mention her intention had something to do with his court mates, she had a bit more of his attention. Though, he was visibly unimpressed at being referred to as a ‘delivery boy’.
“What are you apologizing for?”

"Well that's awful boring of you." Scylla cast an eye over the Dark Mirror senshi, bouncing him up again those she had heard of. "Terribly mature of you. Almost makes me think you're as old as I am." She avoided trouble..... sometimes........ Well. It wasn't like she had a lover to notice if she got herself a little banged up here or there, and kids were shockingly bad at noticing things. So if she did get intro trouble, the only one who would pay the price for it was her. Unless she died, but that was another issue entirely, and not in her Grand Plan. "There was a scuffle a couple days ago," Scylla said breezily, as though the park-wide brawl had been a cheerful little walk, "My sister is a chibi, got herself involved, and I was rather impolite as I made my way through." Breezily. "They were in the way and not being useful and my particular method of scattering vultures is a bit aggressive." For Tegmine, she scrawled across the front of an envelope in elegant calligraphy, sealing the letter with her kraken stamp and glittering wax.

“Mm,” Remarque mused, peering at the name on the envelope, at the stamp. “Sounds like trouble.”
Sounded familiar to some of the stories he’d heard from members of the Court, recently.
He knew better than to comment on a lady’s age.
He took a seat and watched her while she worked.
“If I am to play ‘delivery boy’, I think I should know who I am delivering for. I’m guessing you’re Scylla. But, correct me if I’m wrong.”
Who else could she be--an experienced, Eternal, White Moon Senshi, at a scuffle a couple days ago, rudely dispersing what he assumed to be the cluster of Dark Mirror Senshi?

"I would never." Scylla said, and popped a bite of cookie into her mouth. "Trouble is for Chaos and Chibis." Who were those other Dark Mirrors she had tentacled? And how many had it even been? Ariadne she remembered, and proceeded to scribble a note thanking the senshi for her accidental help- and apologies for her kidnapping. "Is it the tentacles that gave it away?" she asked, lifting a brow in his direction, "The Kraken stamp? My impeccable taste in fuku? Or did Acubens get in trouble?" She doubted that she was so well-known among Chaos agents for any reason other than what had happened the other day. Tentacle Senshi she may be, but first and second ranked Dark Mirror or Negaversers rarely seemed to know what they would be getting into, so she doubted he would know of her for any reason other than a Dark Mirror hulabaloo.

Remarque grumbled, positively unimpressed. “Acubens is always getting in trouble. I think she likes it. I heard about the whole ‘get-together’. She seems to think rather highly of you. For someone who has so much against the Dark Mirror Court.”
He hunched forward a bit, like he didn’t think he had anything to worry about, and rested his elbows on his knees.
“She seems to think there’s something to learn from you. About Ares and the ‘origin’ of our Court. Apparently, you’re just about the only tie she thinks she has to such answers. And, somehow, knowing what you know will aid her in solving some mystery. She’s passionate,” he shrugged. “She wants to make the world a better place. What about you?” he nodded towards her envelopes. “What do you want?”

Scylla snerked softly at Remarque's grumble. "I did nothing to encourage her thinking highly of me," she said dryly to the other senshi, "and you technically still haven't introduced yourself, delivery-boy." She had a suspicion, based on what she knew about the Dark Mirror, but she also didn't want to ruin the pleasant mood by picking a losing fight. Another long snort was his reply. " Acubens was under the impression the Dark Mirror had been created to be Love, Peace, and Family." she gripped her pen, pressing down too hard and sending ink rushing out over the paper. "Oh," she breathed, and set it aside, grabbing for another sheet. "I've told her what I knew. Ares came from another place, with Gaia, with Zirconia, with Laocoon. With more. Ares made a Court, made rules, got pissed when she was held to those rules. Ares betrayed us all, and took good people away from their purpose. The Dark Mirror court shouldn't exist, and what she knew of its creation was, and IS, a lie." She lifted her head to look at him, not flinching. "The Dark Mirror can't help what it is, but what it is- is harmful. Is wrong. There was a human girl once, one of my best friends, and Ares was put inside her body, where she festered, like a poison. I killed once, to protect Leto. And now that poison spread to her. Gaia was my ally. Requiem. MuCephi." She lowered her head, turning her attention back to the paper. "Chaos STEALS. They take energy that doesn't belong to them, and they use it to hurt people. The Negaverse takes innocent people and violates them, turning them into monsters, human or otherwise. And the Dark Mirror may not be able to help how it was made, but it can help what it is, and my opinions on that are... conflicted." a hum. "You take energy that doesn't belong to you, and use it for your own ends. You use wraiths instead of youma, but you cause harm. That's how I met Acubens." Finishing her next envelope, she sealed it and pushed the envelopes towards him. "I attacked them because they were just watching as the Negaverse hurt people. Like it was some strange form of entertainment. Sitting there, observing while people were threatened and injured. Inaction is a form of action, Prince Remarque, and it makes enemies just as easily as action itself." Still, she lifted her chin. "But Tegmine saved my daughter. Ariadne was accidentally dragged into it by my actions. I owe them a thank you, and an apology, and I'm not too proud to admit it."

Remarque clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, thoughtful. Not particularly moved by her words, but then, her experiences with the Court were different than his own. He hadn’t lost anything, or anyone.
He accepted the envelopes, as though he did actually intend to get them delivered.
“Would you rather be enemies with the White Moon or the Negaverse?” he asked, and let the question linger in the air for only a second before he continued, “Because, it was Ares’ idea to sell us out to the Negaverse before we had a chance to make that decision ourselves. I don’t really get to relax knowing that they know who I am, and where to find me. There are others that suffer the same misfortune. Call it what you will, but you make enemies faster when you’re hitting them more than anything else.”
But, he didn’t disagree that it was troublesome that they were there. Hard to play either side when you were right in the middle of both of them.
“Really though, you do us a disservice to compare us to the Negaverse. We don’t pull starseeds, we don’t turn people into monsters. You know what we use that energy for?” He didn’t make her guess. “Building a world, beyond the mirror. In case you can’t stop the Negaverse before it destroys this world. Before the ‘next great threat’ wipes us out. Trying to find the strength to protect this world, that belongs as much to me as it does you. I’ve got people I care about, people I love, here. I didn’t come into this thing with a choice, you know. Ares decided she wanted me in her Court. Didn’t ask. Decided, for me. She didn’t stick around for me. She didn’t make a family for us. She wanted an army. Acubens didn’t know her.”
He shrugged. “She’s made up her mind about what she thinks Ares should have been. It’s her own self-constructed fairy-tale. Ares wanted control. She wanted the power to command soldiers to do her bidding. And when she thought she had them, she left. She took. More than she needed. And I don’t think she ever gave anything back. What, the ghost of an idea? That’s what the Dark Mirror Court started as. But that’s not what it is. She hasn’t been a part of it for so long that we don’t ever talk about her anymore. I don’t know why Acubens is so passionate about finding meaning in what Ares did, but I don’t think she deserves the credit for this Court. She took. She didn’t make. She had her nice, flashy revenge, and she left. She wasn’t willing to do the work. So others took over. We don’t care about the parallels, about her ‘other world’. We care about people. We care about this world. And I’ve been around the Negaverse for long enough to know that there’s a real risk that they’ll destroy this world before anyone finds a way to stop them. So, call us whatever you want. ‘Wrong,’ even. But I’m not sorry for what I am. Not sorry for what I can do. Sorry that Ares took your friends and hurt you. Doesn’t seem like she knew how to do much else. But then, she didn’t bother sticking around for long enough for me to find out.”
