Ransomite let the late summer night air fill his lungs as he pushed off from the wall lining the alleyway he'd powered up in. The overturned trashcan did not make it particularly dignified, but it did help make sure he was left alone. Well, except for the possum, but he didn't think that the possum cared overly much about what he was doing. It hissed and scurried for cover when he moved to scoot past it, but otherwise left him alone. He'd walked a considerable distance away from the rectory before powering up, just in case. He didn't want any awkward questions from the other priests there, such as why he was getting up at such an odd hour, but moreover why he was dressed so darkly. His uniform looked nothing like the black priest garb, and Elliot tended to wear pastels when left to his own devices. They'd be suspicious, and Elliot wouldn't've been able to blame them for it. So Ransomite powered up in an alleyway with only a possum for company. Maybe he'd find a couple people he could siphon off of. It'd be an off-day, but the worst-case scenario meant maybe rolling to a nightclub that was still open this time of night. He wasn't about to hit someone over the head for it, after all. All in all, a quite night so far-- Well, maybe not. Ransomite squinted. Maybe he saw someone over in that direction--

It had been a decently long while since Meridiana had opened the dating app she had created under a pseudonym; Mary Diana and even longer still since she had gone out on a date in uniform or out. Perhaps it was the encounter with Albite that had spurred the sudden interest in finding someone who could teach her that she was more than just her sphere, someone worth being in an actual relationship with rather than a one night stand. This evening had found her in the company of a young woman, Leslie. The right side of her head was shaved while the rest was a beautiful waterfall of platinum blond hair with black undertones. In the dim light outside the restaurant her skin looked more of a tawny beige; either she wore her makeup well or her skin really was that flawless. With one hand, the corrupt laced her fingers through Leslie’s, while the other cupped the woman’s cheek. “I thoroughly enjoyed this evening,” leaned forward and offered the woman a chaste kiss on the cheek. With Albite she had no restraint and stole from him a kiss that, at the time, was not deserved but very much craved. However, with Leslie, she wanted to try a different approach. “I’d like to do this again sometime.” A blush swept across the woman's face and yet she managed to find courage in the moment and kissed Meridiana fully. “I’d apologize, but I’d been wanting to do that for the last hour.” Smirked at the remembrance of their previous conversation. Her mouth opened, then shut, then opened again. “Fair enough,” Meridiana responded with an almost surprised look on her face. Two for two. A kiss reciprocated with something more. Wondered if she’d have received the same reaction if she were here as Phedre instead; or was this attention somehow connected to her aura or sphere? “Call me when you’re free, or send me a message through the app,” Either way, Meri wanted to try for round two and see where it took them. In the meantime, her quota had been filled by snippets of energy stolen from strangers as they chatted. Just then an uber car drove up beside them and the two women said their farewells and parted for the night. Meridiana, however, remained and once her date was no longer in sight she turned towards the aura that had appeared near her. “Enjoy the show?” She called out over her shoulder realizing that they hadn’t moved from their observation spot for several moments.

Ransomite shouldn't have been surprised that she knew he was there. He rested one arm on the corner of the alley he'd transformed in, leaning his torso out a bit toward the sidewalk she was standing on. "It wasn't Broadway, but I've seen worse." He looked down the sidewalk toward the direction the uber had gone. "Do you usually talk to all the girls that way?" His tone was dry, but there was amusement in it all the same, despite himself. "Your technique isn't bad, I've got to say." A thoughtful pause. "I usually go for a higher-intensity encounter, passion-wise, but to each their own." If he was getting that close to someone, he felt many fewer scruples about skimming energy off the top, energy they wouldn't notice. If they did, they'd be more likely to just ascribe it to the experience. And never enough to be critically missed--

"Men..." held up one hand. "Women," raised the other and seemed to weigh the pros and cons between them. "It's all the same to me." Shrugged then smiled politely to the agent. "Those kinds of engagements are reserved for civilians I have no intention to see again." Drained completely and gone shortly after their head hit the pillow. Come morning they'd wake up none the wiser to what happened the night before with the mother of all hangovers but at least she'd be kind enough to have breakfast delivered before they were told it was time to leave the hotel. "That aside, care to demonstrate how you would have done it better?" Not one to shy away from non-aggressive ways of collecting energy since she was one to avoid fighting when at all possible. Picking up some tips from another officer might not be bad, especially since there were other civilians out and about already and he looked rather strapping in his uniform. Suitable for a fine dining restaurant.

Ransomite snorted, but it wasn't intended derisively. Rather, a coarse noise of amusement. "I guess so. I didn't really have anything else planned for today except," he gestured to himself and how he was dressed. "I, too, am not really all that choosy." This was accompanied with a wink. "But I usually go to places a bit louder than a restaurant." He glanced toward the restaurant, then back to her. It was much harder to hear at a club, usually. Made it so he didn't have to worry as much about what he was saying, so long as the person he was talking to was able to catch the rest of his communicating. As long as he was able to get the green light. "Certain kinds of dance clubs, if you catch my drift." He pushed off of the wall and walked closer. "How do you find people? Singles ads?"

"Hmm," Oh, she caught his drift. Meridiana offered an approving smile as he approached. While she preferred the more quiet settings, she supposed that loud areas held their own merit. Easier to cover up a complete drain by blaming alcohol as the reason someone might have blacked out, or was found somewhere on the floor sleeping. Perhaps something worth trying, she considered his method for a moment. "I use dating apps mostly, under a psudonym of course. Beggars can't be choosers so I've made it a habit to only accept those who initiate a conversation with me. I don't want to be flagged as some sort of potential preditor. If they prove to be good company, like the woman I met with this evening, then I discretely gather energy from the people around us. Otherwise, if they're unsavory individuals or assholes, then I drain them completely," Often leaving them with little more than a sheet to cover themselves with and a box of tissues as well as the hotel bill come morning. Never had she actually gone all the way with anyone, their heads always hit the pillow, or floor, before anything could come of the evening. A poor review was left on their profiles on whatever platform she'd connected with them on before they had a chance to mention anything on hers. Petty perhaps but it didn't happen often enough to give rise to any concern. "At the end of the day, I prefer to work smarter not harder for my quota. Might as well have some fun with it, don't you think?" Better than engaging with White Moon Senshi or their Knights and ending up in a fight where the odds were in their favor.

Easy to blame their exhaustion on alcohol, easy to blame other activities tiring someone out, easy to explain going a bit too hard on a dance floor-- He could tell the way she approved by that smile she gave him, and so he found another wall to lean his body against once he got close enough. Dating apps weren't a bad idea at all, admittedly, and he bobbed his head in an intrigued nod, raised eyebrows and all. It wasn't one he had tried, mainly because he was a bit too... wary that the wrong three men might somehow come across his profile, leading to awkward conversations he didn't have any particular desire to explain. It wasn't like they would be upset he had the profile--they had certain agreements after all--but they might want to meet some of the people he'd met on the apps and how do you explain that you can't introduce your three paramours to the one-night-stand-that-wasn't? On account of the draining energy, and all? He did sometimes wait to drain his encounters until after they were done. It helped avoid the awkward questions about calling him in the morning. Ransomite snorted at the concept of unsavory individuals and assholes, the derision aimed squarely at the subject of conversation. "Oh, if someone's disturbing everyone else at the club, I will absolutely drain them fully. Keeps them the hell out of everyone else's hair and gives them a bit of comeuppance." Smarter, not harder. It was his preferred way to work, too. He might-as-well have fun, might-as-well let others have fun in the process. "Agreed. And if I can weave it into things I enjoy anyway in ways that no one's actually going to notice," he shrugged, a smirk on his face. "Makes it easier. Might have to give the dating app thing a shot, though. Let them come to me." Well. Once he established which ones his three others didn't use-- "Do you have to worry about people being annoying afterward? Maybe someone who isn't satisfied with leaving a poor review?"

"No, not usually. I keep it infrequent enough that it doesn't register as a pattern of behavior so I end up getting kicked off of the app." Meridiana shrugged dismissively. "Your method, however, does sound more lively." Wasn't really sure which of them was playing it safer but actually felt inclined, if not simply intrigued, by his way of going about energy gathering. May even consider trying it next time she went out. "Have you ever been caught by a White Moon Senshi or Knight before?" More so curious if anyone might have sensed his signature outside and been waiting for him to leave. Then again, all he'd have to do is look for a crowd then power down when the group of them left. The same thing she had done once when leaving the performing arts theater.

Fair enough; as long as she didn't do it often--or on the same app often--the app wouldn't knock her off. That might have be a little bit of trouble for him if he were to repeat the method, though, if only because he was fairly sure his pool of apps would be smaller. Not that his paramours would recognize him if he was using a picture of Ransomite, but it was better that they not have any chance of coming across him at all-- He let out a chuckle. "Lively, yes." Certainly more lively. Certainly involved quite a few methods that made it more lively. His eyes twinkled at the concept. "Both for me and the people I'm looking to drain, honestly. I've always seen it as a bit of a win-win situation." Even if that second win was just getting a disturbance out of the club. Had he ever been caught -- "I've had a couple scares," he admitted, rubbing his shoulder. "Felt an aura come a bit close. Never been explicitly caught, though. Tend to just slip away before it's a problem. Plus," he winked, "clubs tend to be a bit noisier, a bit more crowded. Easy enough to spot them and slip away before they can figure out where my aura is."

"So, are you on your way to one now? Or are you done for the evening?" Her own quota had been completed the day before. What she got today was just surplus to cover any time off she wanted to take during the holidays this November and December. A little extra now so she didn't have to work harder later. Also meant she didn't have to worry about someone showing up at her house demanding a skipped energy turn-in. Wasn't something she'd really had to concern herself with but she knew of at least one corrupt who had received unannounced home visits. Troublesome... but that's why she planned to be prepared.

"I could probably stand to collect a bit more, but it's getting late." A casual shrug. "I have work in the early morning." Not that he was going home immediately, but, "I want some time to wind down, you know?" Some time to collect himself, to remember Father Isaac. Father Isaac was becoming a solace of sort, even if Ransomite was fairly sure the priesthood didn't allow what he was currently doing. But, then again, it didn't allow what else he was doing either. So he was used to not thinking about it, whatever 'it' happened to be. Either the amount of time he spent with three other men or the amount of time he spent draining yet more other people of their energy. So far, only energy. Never a starseed. The thought of pulling a starseed revolted him-- "I'm not at zero, at least. I'm a busy man." He threw in a chuckle alongside the words. For flavour. "Unless someone happens to be convenient, I might call it a night. You? Any other dates lined up?"

"No," Meridiana shook her head. "I have some travel plans in the morning and will be gone for the next few weeks." Family matters to attend to that couldn't be ignored or passed on to someone else. Would have offered him her medallion if he'd been looking to stay out longer, probably had about a half hours' worth of time left on it. Which, at his level, would hide his signature completely. It would be on loan, of course, but that was neither here nor there if both of them were done for the evening. And so, Meri took the opportunity to power down rather than risk their combined lingering signatures attracting some White Moon Senshi or one of their knights. "Name's Meridiana, or Phedre as I am now if you'd prefer." Smoothed her hands over the pencil skirt she wore as a normal civilian; business attire for the meeting she had earlier in the day.

If she was going to power down, it would be rude not to extend the same courtesy. With a cursory glance around, Ransomite followed suit as jeans and a polo shirt took over for his uniform. Basic clothing. Zebulon would probably make fun of him for it, but it was comfortable-- "Ransomite, or Abbán, but please," another chuckle, "call me Elliot unless you feel up to tackling Irish pronunciation." He folded his arms over his chest, but not before reaching for his phone. As he typed out a reply to a text he'd received while powered up, he offered, "we should do this again sometime."

“Elliot,” she regarded him with a nod and a polite smile rather than risk miss-pronunciation. “Let me know the next time you plan to go to a club. I’d like to join you next time, so long as you’re ok with having some company?” Phedre left the offer open She wasn’t inclined to try and steal his regular haunts. However, Phe was curious how much more fruitful it was to go to louder places, such as clubs and bars, rather than the continuing to make reservations at establishments that were more familiar to her and her usual lifestyle, places such as the Performing Arts Theater and high end restaurants “I’d be happy to give you my number or you could reach out to me through the tablet, whichever would be more convenient.”

"Oh, sure thing." He chuckled. "As long as you don't mind the kind of clubs I go to, you're welcome to come along." And as long as she was content to keep things hands-off. No offense to her, of course, but he did have three other people to whom he owed news of his escapades. He very much did not want to tangle these two parts of his life. ' Anyway. He held up his phone. "So, about that number--"
