She still hadn't quite worked out how she kept getting caught. There was something or someone that had the capacity to alert that god forsaken man to her presence no matter where she was in the city and within minutes of her showing up, it generally wasn't long before she felt a ping that was normally him too. She had started to track her own locations, the time taken between each confrontation, and over the course of several months she had managed to at least work out a rough, ball park figure, for how much time she had before an uninvited guest was in attendence.

It was with that in mind that Cris was on the prowl. She had already woven through several streets, wandered through numerous haunts, taking care to flit in and out of her powered form in a manner that might help to mask her travel. After all, if it was someone then they wouldn't recognise her (if she understood her own induction correctly), and if it was something then if she wasn't the 'same' person each time then it shouldn't be able to spot her...right?

So far it seemed to have worked.

By her estimation she would have around twenty minutes in her current spot before the possibility of an entrance and based on her rather efficient means of isolating her prey, she figured she had plenty of time to acquire the energy she needed and leave. All being well she would have her desire haul and she would escape undetected to her next location. It all sounded great in theory, but that was all it was, a theory.

Thus she made her way towards the area of the park that she knew hid several small homeless camps in the evening. Transient as they were, they were predictable when it came to seeking shelter from poor weather and the forested portions of the park provided more than enough for their needs...

While Voyager hadn't been planning to run into anyone tonight as he walked through the park, it had just been too good to let it go by without seeing the stars. As well as he could anyway. There was still a bit of light pollution that he didn't much care for, but that would have to be taken up with the city. Or he would have to move out into the suburbs and well, he just didn't have the time or want for that yet.

And so he was walking whistling for a bit, giving a good indication of his location to any nearby Agents as he didn't think about the consequences of doing so, when he felt the aura of chaos. Not one that he recognized either, so most likely an Agent he had never met.

They didn't appear to be too powerful... so he hoped that they were about the same power he was. He jogged over to the spot, and looked around to see an Agent who appeared to be taking energy from the homeless. He sighed and called out. "Don't you think they have enough problems already?"

Ah, well so much for being undisturbed this evening. Fortunately he wasn't the one who she had such a wonderful relationship with. That didn't necessarily mean that Voyager wouldn't be any less inconvenient for her and she took care to be mindful of that.

"You all have such impeccable timing," she mused, almost whimsically. She held the unfortunate man, slumped to one side as he was, and levelled her gaze upon Voyager for several moments. No doubt he was one of those bleeding hearts his sought to save everything and anything, without any regard for the fact that the insufferable beasts had gotten themselves into this mess in the first place.

"And no," she sank her hand into the man's chest and slowly removed the starseed from it, unceremoniously flicking it into subspace with a well practiced moment. She had done this before, most assuredly more than once, and by the otherwise apathetic expression she didn't seem to care what Voyager might feel.

"It is my sworn duty to ensure they suffer no further problems," she shrugged. "No more hunger, no more cold, no more agony from untreated wounds in a world that turns its nose up at their very existence," she pointed out coolly.

She would be one of those who turned their nose, but at least she had taken a more pragmatic approach to addressing the problem.

"As they are incapable of rising up to be adequately useful to society they are to be granted an exclusive opportunity to do so with minimal efforts to themselves," she dropped the now dying man to the ground, and it was safe to say that he wouldn't be getting back up again, but at least he wouldn't feel anything right?

"Arguably I find that more charitable than allowing them to suffer and die, assaulted by the elements, don't you think?"

Voyager had never seen a starseed be pulled and even though he wasn't exactly sure what it was, he knew it was wrong of the Lieutenant to do that. But the only thing he could do now is attempt to keep her from doing it again. "I didn't know they hired judges in the Negaverse. I suppose you're doing so much more for society then?" He spat. He was rarely ever angry, but to see someone so casually killed in front of him, that was pure evil.

"It's not as though you gave him the chance to come back again either to fix his mistakes." He had heard about what happened to starseeds if they were pulled and taken. He stepped closer to her. She felt the same level as he, so she shouldn't have the ability to teleport, right?

"And it might not have been his fault either that he's out here weathering the elements." Closer. "But that's because you don't care and you're only telling yourself that to justify what you did to them. So I know there's nothing I can do to change your mind." It would be one thing if they hesitated or were being told to do so by someone else. But it didn't feel as though anyone else was there. Perhaps the Agents had been given orders to kill instead of just taking energy?

He knew he was taking his chance, but he quickly picked up a rock on the ground and threw it at her. As much as he disliked it, he knew he wouldn't be able to do much just attempting to punch her. If they did get into such a match, he would have to take off his jacket at least.

There was the 'grand speech' she'd heard before from other White Moon. They did like to be a touch verbose on occasions and they did enjoy getting on their high horses to lecture about what she could and couldn't do, all while failing to realise that during the entire monologue they had done exactly what she tended to do... She just did it more quietly. In the grand scheme of things Voyager had rendered a judgement of his own and as he moved closer towards her she could only shake her head.

"Well at least you have a shred of intelligence," she mused. "At least enough to acknowledge when your words are meaningless," she added. Despite his speech he had concluded that she would continue as she intended to and he wasn't wrong in that. The gamble he had made to toss the stone at her though was certainly a big one.

At least for this man she knew she was on even footing. He felt like she did, the same 'level' as it were, but that didn't meant that from a physical point of view they were matched. Maybe she knew more than him when it came to landing a punch, she'd just have to see.

It was with a rather dramatic sigh that she caught the wrong in both hands, lips pursing somewhat as the pointed edge clipped her palm, but not enough to delay her for too long.

Ah, it seemed Voyager was going to have to take off that coat of his after all.

"Bold move," she cooed, and with an unceremonious flick of her wrist, tossed the rock back to him and send her coin following soon after. The rock might hit, but the coin had at least been curved up to smack up against his forehead as a distraction. She wouldn't take distraction for granted though, even if she was lunging after her coin to land a punch of her own, Voyager had already demonstrated that he was a touch smarter than the others and she knew better than to assume she'd be successful in everything.

The speech hadn't lasted long enough and it appeared that this Agent actually had some training when it came to fighting. "I see that they didn't just pick you off the street then." He muttered as he caught the rock but then stupidly used his clenched hand to block the coin as well. And it had been enough of a distraction. She was already after him and he attempted to jump backwards, landing awkwardly.

He would have to take the coat off. He did so quickly and without taking his eyes off of her. It was a nice enough night out where it didn't matter if he took his coat off, but he hoped that it wouldn't disappear on him. He didn't have enough experience to know if his outfit would come back if he purposefully abandoned part of it.

He didn't have much of a chance against her though. He had not practical training when it came to fighting and he had only been lucky enough so far that he had met others that were as inexperienced as he was. So, he would either have to convince her to leave, somehow, or he would have to leave himself. Either way, the man was already dead. But she could go after the others as well... "You've already had your fun for tonight. Why don't you just leave?"

"Oh far from it," she chuckled softly. She had hopped back, albeit briefly to prowl back and forth, all the while watching him. "They picked me because they needed someone to clean the streets," she pointed out. "If I came from these parts it would be me on the chopping block," she continued, her tone sly. A moment or two to admire the coat as it fell to the ground was afforded.

...And then the question.

"Oh darling you are aware we have quotas, yes?" she gave a wag of her finger and ceased her pacing. With a flick of her wrist her 'weapon' was returned to her and she raised an eyebrow. "I never was one for merely hitting my targets, I much prefer to exceed them," she tailed off and smirked, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Was this an attempt to negotiate in the hopes she was one of the spineless within their ranks? Oh, they might pretend they were loyal, but she'd seen a few of them cower at the prospect of doing what was required.

"But you are right, I have rather cleaned this place out for now," she peered over her shoulder thoughtfully. "So I guess I'll have to move on, won't I?" she teased.

"Cleanse the city elsewhere," she finished. Though where that happened now, or another day, remained to be seen. She might well be bluffing and not have another patch to hunt in yet, and perhaps that was the blessing in disguise...

An eyebrow was raised. "A quota? No, but that's interesting information. If you're sharing it freely then I'm sure that it's something that doesn't matter much if it gets leaked. It is good for telling us newbies though." He said with a grin. He ignored the second part. It was obvious with this Agent at least.

"But I would rather be facing off against someone who really wanted to be an Agent. Then I don't have to feel bad about hurting them." He said with a more serious face though he still keep a small grin. Though it did make him wish that he had more fighting skills.

"Well, you better find that place then. Because we can continue this all night." He could call off the next day and he was going to wait around a bit to make sure that she didn't come back. But he would also put up as much of a fight as possible. This was an Agent that would need an eye kept on them.

Could he go all night?

Her head tilted at the sound of a lumbering step, company in their midst though not company that contained any measure of power. It had no energy, no 'ping' as some might say, and that meant only one thing. A civilian was nearby, and given his gait, Cristobalite could only assume that they were the type of individual she very much enjoyed meeting.

A sly grin swept on to her lips as she took several steps backwards. Just how much was this young knight willing to chase her for this evening? She wasn't really one for games, she found them a waste of time more often than not, but as he'd mentioned himself...there were certain pieces of information that could be quite useful to a different person.

A test of his limits perhaps.

Yes.

Though she had seemed otherwise inclined to dart towards him once more, she instead feinted away from him and practically glided into the alleyway to greet their visitor. A visitor who soon gave a strangled groan before his sorry form was guided out into the open, the woman's hand firmly in the depths of his chest. It wasn't long before she leaned out to the side, the same smirk on her lips as she eyed Voyager.

She seemed thoughtful. She seemed contemplative. Neither of these things were good when she clearly had those long fingers coiled around a very vulnerable thing indeed.

"Are you sure?" she asked curiously and shook her head. "Or will you be like every other young White Moon that has crossed my path?" she added. He certainly was more aggressive in the sense that he had done something, but in the end they all seemed to have their limits and she was curious as to what his might be.

...And so she tore the starseed from the man's chest, allowing him to fall to his knees with a rather sharp 'thump'. If he lived he'd be rather bruised, but if he died then the point was entirely moot. Between her fingertips she held the starseed for a short while, before curling it in to her fist and sliding it into what looked like a small box.

The box was nothing special, it had probably once held a ring or a pin in it, but now it housed a delicate starseed in the palm of a woman with a plan.

"I offer you a choice," she prepped her quarry and in a fashion that would have made any bowler proud, hurled the box through the air and towards somewhere in the distance. Far enough away that wherever it had landed couldn't be heard quite as easily as one might have liked, but the direction was at least clear.

"You can stop me," she clucked her tongue. "Or you can save this man's life," she glanced down at him and gave him a nudge with her boot. "Either way I don't imagine that box will be as firmly sealed as some might like so..."

A wave of a hand was given as she turned on her heel and began to walk away.

"Tick tock, my dear boy. Tick tock."

Voyager growled when she took another starseed. Damn her. Why the hell were Lieutenants able to do that?! And while she threw the box away he was sure that it had opened in the meantime, it's not as though he saw any clasp on it to keep it sealed. Most likely the starseed had fallen out in the air which would require some time to look for, but shouldn't be impossible.

He had to save the man's life. If he could do it then he had to take the chance. He glared at her as she walked away. He would come back here to see if he could sense her aura still, but for now he needed to look for the starseed. He had no idea how long the man could live without it so he needed to find it quickly. He muttered, "It won't be like this next time." Before he went to look for it.

He had underestimated the Agent. Not in terms of willingness to kill, but the ability to do it so quickly and giving her enough time to do it. Next time he wouldn't let her. She wouldn't be able to move so quickly and he would be able to stop her.

As he looked through the area that the box had been thrown in he managed to find the starseed and put it back in the young man, feeling no chaos auras around. She had left. He had been tested but it seemed that she had left the area for now.

He would have to go and think about this. What he could do in the future. For now though the battle had been... neutralized. But it wasn't over. It was only for the night.

Predictable! She had made an educated guess in regards to the demeanour of her new found friend and it appeared that she had been correct. In the grand scheme of things they would always save the innocent individual. Even if it meant that she would escape and cause havoc elsewhere, take even more souls, they would always pick that 'one'.

It was naïve but it worked to her advantage on this occasion and it was with an idle wave of her hand that the woman wandered away. When she was out of sight she would power down and move towards more well lit areas to break cover her tracks, and when in her next hunting ground, she would return to her established form.

Patience was a virtue and her hunt would continue.

...But at least the Page had saved one soul tonight, right?

A sly smile slipped on to her lips as she continued to her next destination. She had to wonder if perhaps he would learn if they crossed paths again, or could she make the same play over and over, with no hope that he would learn. Time would tell on this one and she couldn't help but be somewhat intrigued.
