51-90: A small item is taken and you immediately identify the thief in the crowd.
Mina knew full well her mother would tan her hide if found out she'd gone this far away from home, but that hateful woman could just be mad! She didn't understand how important it was for her to keep up friendships; especially ones that just so happened to coincide with her 'crime' fighting! There were monsters out in the world; big bad ones that only they could fight! So when the older woman talked about staying 'near the reef' and 'taking more pride in her work' Mina just pushed it off. She was taking pride in her work! Just because it wasn't the work her mother wanted didn't mean it was her fault.
The further Mina swam the denser the pressure became. As much as she cared for Rei and Ami, there was always something about coming this far down into the ocean that spooked her. It was always so dark and -
When something swam past her in the dark the young Hapuna let out a squeal. She was only halfway to the caves and she was already scared! "Come on, be brave," Mina admonished herself. She reached up to pinch her cheeks, took a deep breath and kept swimming.

While her parents always had strict expectations, Ami had found herself daring to venture out more and more while they were away from home. The girl had grown since making new friends and she didn't dare let them down by getting stuck behind a pile of books! She would just have to work harder in her studies so that she could spend more time helping out her friends while they solved crimes and helped keep the seas from being engulfed in darkness. Ami was so resolved that even today she had skirted away from home, wearing her uniform and her prized bracelet with the little pearl on it that she had found a few weeks ago.
She darted around some of the outer cavern tunnels, her gaze bright as she glanced about for her friend. "Mina?" She called out quietly as she sought out the bright hapuna in the darkness of the tunnels.

Something was out here with her! Mina stopped and looked around, doing her best to feel out the intruder, but she couldn't see well enough down this far anyway. Trying to find a monster in this darkness on her own was impossible! So, the little youngling gussied up her nerve and pushed on; albeit a lot faster than she had initially!
When she heard her name Mina called out, "Ami?!" before even spotting the other girl. The moment she did, though, instantly embraced her. "It's so good to see you! I almost thought I wouldn't! Somethings chasing me."

A flush decorated her cheeks as she returned the embrace. It was still an adjustment to receive so much open affection after all! "What do you mean?" She gasped before twisting so that she could survey the darkness around them. Thankfully Ami was more accustomed to the caverns and her gaze could easily make out shapes in the faint glow from the crystal rocks jutting out of the walls. Was there something there?
Maybe there was...what was that shadow? Ami found her lips pressing into a thoughtful frown before something dashed right at them! "Eep!" She called out as she backed towards Mina for support.

"It's just the scariest thing! It swam past me on my way down and I know it's still out there!" Mina may have been a little paranoid in the moment, but her judgement was usually on point! She held onto her friend, looping her arms around her shoulders as she looked around.
When the thing swam at them Mina cried out as well, and without thinking pulled Ami as close to her as possible. Just as soon as it came close it disappeared once again.
"There it is again!" At first she'd hoped it was something that thrived closer to the reefs so it wouldn't follow her down, but now Mina wasn't sure what to think! And then she just -
Something touched her hair and Mina shrieked again. The youngling whipped around and only saw the faint glow of rocks once more! Except this time..."My bow! It took my bow!"

Ami's whole body tensed as the thing swam towards them again. It was so fast that it was hard to see exactly what it was! "Your bow?" She repeated before reaching back and realizing that her own bow had been snagged. "Mine too!" Her expression twisted with frustration as she glanced about trying to spot the shadow thief. They couldn't simply let it get away with this!
"We have to be brave and stop its wrong doings!" She commented with a bold nod towards Mina even though her heart was racing in her chest. Could they do this? Could they venture into the unknown and track down their belongings? Surely they could! They were agents of justice after all!

Even if it was just the two of them Mina knew they could do it! Her heart raced as she nodded and let go of Ami's shoulders to take her hand instead. "I've got your back if you've got mine!" When she saw movement once more Mina tugged her friend forward. "Come on! We can't let it get away!"
This time Mina was doing her best to track it! She couldn't see the creature exactly, but there was just enough of a form for her to follow and the sounds it made kept her going forward! She was a fast swimmer so as she kept them moving she was relying on Ami for visuals. "Got anything?"

"Always." Promised Ami as she squeezed her friend's hand. Mina was one of her dearest friends and she would always fight to protect her. Her feet kicked out behind her as she swam quickly after Mina in the direction of the culprit. They would catch this bow thief and teach them a lesson!
Ami glanced to the left and right then back again as they swam along. The tunnel was getting wider and there were more formations to hide behind but eventually she tugged on Mina's hand. "There..." She whispered as she pointed towards a large shadow that was cast along the wall. Was the thief truly so giant and intimidating? Ami found herself swallowing nervously before steeling herself for confrontation. They had to do this as agents of justice. She repeated the mantra silently as she slowly crept forward, inching around a formation so that she could confront the villain.
Was...was that a faint glow around the corner? Ami pursed her lips in confusion before pausing when she noticed the bioluminescent fins that marked a pair of tipen swimming in circles with their bows dangling from their mouths. Those...those were the thieves?!

This was it! As soon as Ami's tugged on her hand Mina's breathing still, but she nodded, resolute as ever to bring the evil doer to justice! She pressed the palms of her hands to the slick stone around her, and carefully peeped around it's edge.
"Is that...tipene?" Mina wasn't as accustomed to the wildlife this far down as her friend, but she'd seen them once or twice before. "It looks like they're playing..." Honestly, it was kind of cute!

"I think...I think you're right." Agreed Nanami with disbelief before finally laughing. They were cute! The youngling glanced at her friend with a small smile. "Do we try to exchange our bows for something else?" She asked quietly as she glanced about the cavern. There was some glowing kelp floating lazily about towards the entrance that maybe they could entice the tipene with. Chasing them was definitely out of the question though cause once any tipene got the zoomies they got the zoomies and there'd be no chance of reclaiming their bows after that happened!

"Like what?" Mina whispered back and tried her best to remain unnoticed. "What if we get too close and they run away again?" If they were happy just dodging out of sight then what would keep them around long enough to make the trade?
Seeing the kelp gave her an idea though. "What if we took some really long pieces and folded it like bows?" It wouldn't be the real deal, but maybe it would be good enough for the tipene!

Ami chewed on her bottom lip thoughtfully. "That's true." She admitted softly, her expression falling as she imagined trying to chase the fish. There was no way that they could catch them...so hopefully this idea would work! "Maybe we can do that." She inched around a formation so that she could swim up towards one of the pieces, her fingers curling around it as she gently tugged it free so that she could give a piece to Mina. "Might as well try, right?"

"Right." Mina nodded and took the piece of kelp. This would have to work! They would have to work quickly before the tipene swam away with their bows. It would be tricky because they also had to be careful not to scare the tipene away, but Mina trusted Ami. It was not as if they had any better options left either. So Mina folded the kelp into something of a bow shape and held it up towards Ami. "Ready?"

"Yep." Ami carefully reached out and took both of their bows so that she could creep towards the tipene. The youngling was afraid of startling them but she moved just enough so that the kelp would dangle, hopefully enticingly, towards the tipene. After what felt like an eternity one darted forward and opened its mouth to snag the kelp from her fingertips. The other followed suit and both bows slowly floated down through the water after being discarded by the happy fish who darted away again, playing with their new "bows".
"Mission accomplished?" Asked Ami as she gave her friend back her bow and tied her own back onto her uniform. "I guess we didn't plan on dealing with fish thieves today, but I'm glad it worked out." She commented playfully with a grin towards Mina. Now whatever would happen for them next? There was always something going on in the oceans after all and they would be ready to bring justice and light!
