When Iriyana had practically begged to take Ziya for a few days Sylvirah hadn't refused. In her sons infancy she hadn't wanted to be away from him in the slightest out of fear for his safety, but now that he was past his first year she needed the break. As much as she absolutely adored the boy he was proving to be just as much trouble as his father which meant that Sylvirah was always on point.
Maybe a little time with Uncle Ergon will calm him down. Just thinking of her stuffy older half-brother toting around the active toddler was enough to bring a smirk to her face.
And now, with so much free time at her disposal, Sylvirah was able to spend a little one on one time with Zyphire. She'd told him the day prior that she wanted to do some archery practice, but it was clear enough from the setting that she hadn't been forthcoming with all of the details. For one the arrows in the quivers had little bags where the arrow heads should have been and there were several more scattered out across the landscape.
"Each one of these bags has dye in it." Sylvirah demonstrated by lifting an arrow and tapping it on the ground. Little puffs of pink popped up in it's wake. "Mine are pink, yours are blue. Whoever gets covered first is the loser." With a smirk, she lifted the quiver onto her back. "Think you can beat me?"

When Zyphire had come to the arranged meeting spot, the Shifter had not been expecting to see such strange arrows waiting for him. Curiosity made him tilt his head as he looked from the arrows to the quivers and then back to Sylvirah. "Dye....oh. OH." A grin crossed his lips at the realization that they were going to be competing in such a way. "Challenge accepted. Anything on the line other than our clothing or pride?" Zyphire found himself teasing as he picked up an arrow and tapped a finger against the edge, the puffs of blue making him chuckle. Out of all things he had imagined this was definitely not it.
"Where did you even pick up this idea?" He found himself asking as he tilted an arrow in his hand, his amusement obvious. "Either way let's seal the deal and start, right?" Zyphire grinned towards Sylvirah, suddenly even more eager to spend this rare afternoon alone together.

"When I went to see Iriyana I saw an old man teaching an archery class. He was using these to teach the children instead of arrowheads, but they weren't shooting targets." Honestly, the lengths at which the southerners went to protect their young was as laughable as it was disappointing. Her children would learn to shoot with real arrows and if they hit each other then they'd learn real quick not to do it again!
Still, this did seem like fun and she was tired of working on the village so much. There was only so much building, hunting and mothering one could do before the itch to get into trouble kicked in.
"If I win you wear a dress to my brother's house for dinner." Sylvirah smirked, "And you can choose my punishment if you lose." The thing of it was she knew Zyphire would do it anyway if it got a rise out of Ergon. At some point she would have seen it as a pointless exercise, something that benefitted no one but now...well, she rather liked the idea of him in stockings.
The iceling waited until he was properly suited up before taking off toward the tree line. When she was a decent distance away Sylvirah turned at the hip and fired off a quick arrow back at the shifter.

"Pfft. As if you need a dare for me to do that." Confirmed Zyphire with an amused smirk towards Sylvirah. "Your punishment probably won't include a dress." He replied with a raised eyebrow before stalking away in the opposite direction from Sylvirah. Whatever he decided he could take care of later, but for now he had to focus! A flush decorated his cheeks as he realized she had already taken it upon herself to fire the first shot and the heavy thud on his lower back would surely show a pink mark later on.
Spirits! The woman really didn't know how to show mercy! Still, Zyphire had a gleam of amusement in his gaze and wasted no time in firing off a shot himself before darting into the tree line. Sylvirah wouldn't win this bet so easily! Though he wasn't about to simply hide away from her. Zyphire chuckled as he planned to weave through the trees to give her a few ample chances to try and catch him again while he looked to take a few shots of his own.

A few wild parak leapt out of the underbrush as she passed, skittering in opposite directions from the huntress with chitters of indignation. One in particular stopped to n** at her leg, causing her to stumble. "Go on, get out of here before I step on - !" Sylvirah squealed when a puff of blue clouded her vision. The shot had landed squarely on her bicep, painting her clothing a horrendously bright shade of blue.
She steadied herself to fire a shot back in retaliation, but the parak was persistent! It's constant nips caused her shot to go wide, catching itself in the branches just above his head instead. Sylvirah waved her bow around to scare the little thing off and with a few well placed 'shoos!' it finally got the hint.
Honestly, the one time she didn't want to skin an animal and it took it's revenge...

Zyphire would be lying if he didn't say that seeing Sylvirah shooing off a tiny, persistent parak was thoroughly amusing. The Shifter had been startled by the wide miss and hearing the protests from Sylvirah had first worried him until he spotted the little fluffy devil darting away from the huntress. "Pfft." Zyphire shook his head before preparing his own shot, his arrow notched and ready until the parak decided to twist and dart in his direction!
Had Tiki bribed the whole forest because he forgot to give her a treat or something? Still, it was a laugh that escaped his lips rather than a curse as Zyphire sidestepped the creature and misfired his arrow so that it shot widely to the left instead of towards Sylvirah's behind as originally intended.

"Ha!" Sylvirah resisted the urge to laugh as the vicious little predator shifted targets. Even before it bounced out of sight toward the shifter she could see how fluffed up the parak's fur was and it's squeaks of rage were something fierce indeed! "I hope your pants are tucked into your boots!" Wouldn't that be something, if it just crawled right on up?
With that said Sylvirah took up another arrow and aimed once more, this time with much more concentration than before. On an exhale the huntress let her arrow loose, hoping this time it would actually hit her target.

Honestly he shouldn't have replied but Zyphire being Zyphire had to open his damn mouth. "I'll just carry it like a trophy!" Let the little guy just try to climb his pants! Zyphire grinned as he imagine racing around with a wild parak hanging onto his legs for dear life, but that was the least of his worries as yet another arrow bopped the side of his arm. Oof. Okay maybe he deserved that one for laughing at her.
But he wasn't the only one laughing! Zyphire grinned as he fired off an arrow of his own towards Sylvirah before moving away through the trees once more.

"What's a trophy?" Sylvirah called out with a laugh. With only one arrow left in her quiver the huntress chose to move out of her 'safe' space and run toward the closest cache. In her mad dash across the space she felt an arrow land on her thigh, but it did little to slow her down. She was really on a roll now!
Within a second of reaching the cache Sylvirah snatched up an arrow and let it loose, straight for Zyphire's pelvis! She didn't know why that was the area she chose when his chest was perfectly unguarded, but Sylvirah was feeling playful.

Thump! Zyphire let out a surprised 'umph' whenever the pink tipped arrow smacked into his pelvis. The Shifter had been planning on ducking down or something if she had aimed for his chest but had not been expecting that to be her target! Zyphire could only grin at the playful antics before deciding on his own as he darted forward for extra arrows. No one said archery was his first choice but at least he had some training in it!
But he was also good at darting about and surprising others. Zyphire couldn't resist giving a flirty wink towards Sylvirah as he ran past the iceling with his new load of arrows and gave a little love pat across her bottom with one of them. And then just like that he slipped away into the forest once more.

Was Sylvirah aware of the sort of edge she had on him in this game? Of course. Did she still expect him to keep up? Certainly. Archery may not have been Zyphire's first choice of weapons, but it wasn't hers either. If they'd been playing with lances and spears then he wouldn't stand a chance.
"That's cheating!" Sylvirah twisted her hip to look at the obnoxiously blue spot on her rump. With a huff and roll of her eyes the huntress took off after the shifter. Instead of pushing through a patch of briars she leapt over them instead and popped off another arrow. If he wanted to play that way then she would give him a fight, but she needed to get closer first...

"Is it reaaaally? We never defined the exact ways to attack." Teased Zyphire as he appeared for another shot towards Sylvirah. Technically the arrow did touch her, right? The Shifter chuckled as he twisted around a tree, the arrow clipping him on the shoulder with a puff of pink powder, but he was too amused to mind the hit. One more for her and another for me... Zyphire quickly twisted back around again so that he could fire off another shot towards Sylvirah's shoulder this time. A shot for a shot!

"It's an archery contest! It's implied!" Sylvirah huffed and twisted to duck behind a tree, but not before an arrow clipped her on the shoulder. At this rate she was going to be as bright as spring sky!
They were moving closer to a downward slop now and she knew if she could coax him toward it then she might stand a chance at getting some really good shots. It all depended on Zyphire, however, and his ability to play along like a good little boy.
This time when she fired off an arrow Sylvirah shot at his shoulder.

Zyphire smirked at the response, well of course but what was the fun in keeping things normal? "Well forgive me if using an arrow can imply multiple meanings!" He found himself teasing even when another puff of pink decorated more of his clothing. At least they both seemed to be good at hitting one another, minus the parak interference of course, and it was thoroughly entertaining to stretch his legs like this. The Shifter was not completely oblivious at the downhill slope that Sylvirah was edging them towards but rather than chicken out the swordsman took the bait so that he could get a good angle on her while kiting around the edges of the path, his body weaving in and out of the trees after he took yet another shot...this time towards her upper right back as she continued moving towards the valley.

Sylvirah was full on running now. The iceling had grown up in snows twice this thick so the little dusting on the ground here was nothing to her! If anything it was putting muscles that hadn't worked this hard in months to use and her blood was absolutely thrumming. All she needed to do was get a little closer....
The hit to her upper back was just enough to earn a 'grunt' out of her, but Sylvirah was moving too fast to stop now! When she was close enough the huntress ditched her bow all together, took an arrow out of the quiver and thwacked Zyphire with it outright.
