Læraðr stopped to catch his breath after he finally lost that crazy chick who was chasing him after he saved that civilian from certain death. Even if he wasn't the most best fighter or anything yet, he still had stamina that could outdo someone in a full chase like that. Taking a deep breath to confirm his lungs were no longer on fire, he let it out slowly and began a light jog back to where he'd been. He hoped the civ had been okay. He really wanted to see the civ in person, make absolutely sure they were okay, but if the civ was gone, then it was likely they were okay and just going home to sleep off the nightmare and pretend it never happened. Hopefully. Cautiously he turned around the next few corners, fearful that some other Chaos agent would be lurking unseen, somehow, but nothing like that came. Thank God. He finally got right up near the alley they'd originally been in and he kept his eyes peeled.

The entire experience, for Carterhaugh, had been a mix of terrifying and exhilarating. At first, they had nearly been killed, but now they were...something else. Something wonderful and strong.
And they made their way bask to the alley where they'd been saved, because maybe if they were lucky, they could find their rescuer and offer thanks, since both of the people involved in the fight had long since vanished.
And--ah! Good luck, there was the man in blue that had saved them.
"Oh, good, you're alright! You ran, and she chased--I hoped you'd get away okay, and it looks like you did!"

Læraðr turned at the voice, squinting at them in confusion. "I, yeah, I was looking for—oh, wait, you're! You're the person I saved, aren't you! You—Wow, look at you!" he said, hands on his hips as he grinned and looked them over. "One of us now, huh? So cool! What's your name, do you know yet? I'm Læraðr!"
He held out his hand for Caterhaugh to shake.

"Carterhaugh," they said, brightly, and they extended a hand, taking the offered one. "Hi, it's good to meet you, Læraðr." They tested the name on their tongue, and made a "hm" noise. "Norse. Interesting. So far I've met you, and Camelot--so that's Arthurian--and my name is English, there's a Carterhaugh Wood." Not that the forest itself would be all that famous without the ballad, but that was just details.
"It's a pleasure to meet you."

Læraðr nodded. "Yeah, we're from all over the place. Pretty cool, huh?" he asked, grin getting wider as he dropped Carterhaugh's hand. "It's nice to meet you too. I am so so glad that you're okay, I was... worried I hadn't been able to do enough. Have you seen your weapon yet?"
He summoned his, then, flicking the baton through his fingers.

"It is pretty cool," Carterhaugh agreed. They would have to do more research, they supposed--which was an exiting prospect, all things considered. There was so much to learn and know about being a Knight, and they wanted to understand all of it.
"Uh, as for a weapon, I think..." They produced the silk flower that had appeared din front of them. "It's this?"

Læraðr let out a weak chuckle at the flower that had been pulled out. "Yeahhh... From what I hear, a lot of us have sucky stuff when we first 'wake up', so to speak," he explained, sticking his baton in his pocket. "But once we're stronger, it's kinda like we level up and get better weapons and we start getting magic, too! Nothing like a Senshi, but they get to start with magic, lucky bastards."
He looked around the empty alley and gestured to Caterhaugh to follow as he started walking. He had to start moving; he was getting fidgety and he didn't like it.

"A...Senshi?" Carterhaugh had been following--level up, get better equipment and spells, very straightforward, like any number of RPGs--but that single word stopped their comprehension in its tracks. "What is a Senshi?"
Something like what they were, but different, perhaps? It was clear that Læraðr had much more experience than them, even if they were the same rank, so it was good to have someone to ask questions of. So, when Læraðr beckoned, they moved to follow; walking and talking did feel a little bit nicer, all things considered.

Læraðr hummed. "Well, I haven't met one yet, but I know that they're tied to other planets. Ones that we call stars. Like... Sirius, and stuff. Meanwhile we're bound by Wonders and the Code. One thing that's certain is that all our names are our places. Like Carterhaugh and Læraðr. And the symbols on our outfits..."
He tapped the symbol of Neptune on his chest. "That's the planet we serve. I'm Neptune. Super cool water planet. You..." He squinted at Caterhaugh's outfit, wishing he had his glasses. "Seems like you're Earth! Pretty nice."

Carterhaugh nodded, slowly. This was a lot to take in, all at once, but they were trying to absorb all of it as best as they could. Senshi, and Knights, and stars and Wonders and so many things they would have to keep track of.
It was all quite overwhelming.
Butt hey looked down at their lovely new dress, and made a thoughtful noise.
"Earth, hmm?" They turned around, letting their new skirts swirl around their ankles. "This is....a lot," they admitted, "but I appreciate you helping me."

"Of course!" he exclaimed, grinning widely. "I don't know much yet, I've been this... for like, a week?"
He laughed a bit as he brushed some hair that had loosed from his ponytail out of his face.
"Just visit your Wonder as soon as you can. That's what I was told to do. I haven't quite had a chance yet, but that's how you get your communication ring. There's more to it than that, I think, but like I said, I'm not an expert. Yet."
He grinned. "I plan to be, as soon as I can."

Carterhaugh wished, suddenly, that they had gotten more from Camelot when they'd met him, all that time ago. Perhaps they would have had more time to process all of it. Perhaps they might have Awakened sooner.
Or perhaps nothing would have changed at all.
"Visit my Wonder," they said, and nodded firmly. "Understood. I will. And, uh. Once I have my...communication ring, will I be able to reach out to you?"

"I do still need to get mine, but yeah, once we both have ours, we should be able to talk through it and meet up again or something," he confirmed. "Do you want me to walk you home?"

Carterhaugh nodded. "Thank you," they said. They thought for a moment about the offer, and then nodded.
"I would appreciate that, yes." At least the rest of their walk would be significantly safer.
