The next morning, Gil was worried. The man in his bed had been drunk when everything happened. He got called awful names, and shoved...? to the ground, still unsure on the details. Gil had woken up with the first signs of morning. Light streaming in through his living room, confusing him for a moment. His hair had come loose of it's tie, probably broken sometime during all the commotion without him realizing it. ******** if he cared. He just shoved the dreads back out of his face and got off the chair. ******** it wasn't comfortable to sleep in. The muscles in his back were letting themselves know how much they hated not having his memory foam mattress to sleep on. Slowly he started to stretch himself out. They still protested that, but felt better once he righted himself and gave one last, almost loud yawn before padding his way to the kitchen. Coffee was needed, and so was rinsing his mouth out. With a gross look, he did just that, scooped handfuls of water into his mouth, moved it around and spit it all back out. Part of him wanted to cook, but not everyone ate breakfast. So he settled for toasting up a bagel and adding peanut butter to it while he waited for the coffee to finish. He nibbled as he moved around still, getting a big plastic cup full of water, and some pills ready for whenever the other finally came from the bedroom. Thank whatever deity was out there his bathroom wasn't attached. Still, after everything was said and done, Gilmore was back in that chair, angling it so he could still get there quickly if needed, but now he was on his phone with bagel and coffee on either arm of the chair. A lazy morning, all said and done.

Mier woke with a start, sat up too fast and immediately regretted it - because <********> his head, his a**."Hhhst-o-ow!?" it was enough to make him groan and clutch at his mess of hair, rub the palms of his hands into his eyes, and rub his slender fingers into brief little circles along his temples. A rough attempt at abating the throbbing his his skull as he flopped back into the cushions and comforter he'd found himself enveloped in. Waited for the spots to subside, and realized he was several things at once. Thirsty, hungry, tired...and still dressed? Gross.. He knew he definitely needed a shower, hot water and hot coffee. Something with a protein maybe.... Was sure he was hungover, knew that'd been a possibility, had planned for it poorly. It was one thing to read about how to manage such things before hand, and another entirely to put it into practice. To drink enough water, to do all the little things after that made being drunk afterwards bearable. Beyond the haze of oww and eww there was a smile on his face though, because he remembered going out. Took stock, mentally for a moment, played everything back, all good memories if a bit fuzzy around the edges. If he was hungover then he'd at least managed to get drunk, was still dressed, surely had enough fun that he'd come home and gone straight to sleep. Maybe even had friends over, remembered it vaguely, a car ride with a very nice someone..warm...wondered if that was why his sheets smelled differently. The wonder slowly becoming worry as he noticed the sheets weren't his, that as he stood and padded off the bed, gingerly on bare feet, that his bathroom wasn't there. No attached door, none of his things.. Not his room - not his house - not his - Where the <********> was he?! Swallowed down the brief spill and flicker of panic as he made suddenly for the door, bolted out - and froze. Eeek of sound as he went still like a deer in the headlights. Became a statue, because ******** that was a very big man in a very big chair standing guard - sitting guard!? "H-hello..uhm..." flinched at the sound of himself as he realized how raspy his voice was.

Technically he was still in the living room, just... facing the door. Either way, Gil's head snapped up at the sound of a squeak and blinked at the bluenette. Head canting to the side, Gilmore slowly started to get out of the chair, offering an awkward, but positive and, what he hoped, bright smile. "Good morning. I... have breakfast and aspirin." He moved around the chair and motioned the other to follow him to the 'dining room'. Honestly it was an area between the kitchen and the living room, kind of an awkward spot, but the table was big enough. "By breakfast, I mean coffee, water, and aspirin, but I can also cook something for you. I just made a bagel..." He probably had crumbs all over his shirt, but Gil wasn't actually thinking about that. He was also trying to keep his voice from being too loud. It did tend to boom, but he decorated to make the place not echo. "....How do you feel?" He couldn't help but ask that. Especially after last night.

Abducted, Mier had a momentary spike of something other. Imagined he'd been kidnapped - no - s**t - adult-napped? Wait, ********, he wasn't quite...well... Except he doubted most captors were so sweet about such things. Offered breakfast to those they'd snatched into their homes, stood lumbering, and looking all the while like they were trying to be anything other than that. That such a man could at all consider an attempt at taking up less space - at being bright and welcoming and easy when he was easily the size of three men. Something in Miers wide startled gaze slipped, turned appreciative. Let his eyes go from bore and panic, lidded into something a little softer as they roved. Head to toe, toe to head - the entirety of the person who stood before him. Who beckoned him to take small careful steps into his 'dining area', attaché to a kitchenette and living space all in one. Soft voice for such a large man, or maybe it was a ploy? Maybe it was a trap and the bagel was poisoned and he'd meant to kill him!All fanciful fruitless things which seemed very unlikely. All thoughts which crumbled when he tested them against the logic in his mind, the hiss for that, because ow!? How did people deal with headaches, with hangovers, with - any of it at all and still find joy enough to do it again. The man was speaking though, asking..and... how did he feel?"Groggy, in desperate need of a shower, proteins, and as though I've woken in someone else's home...." pointed, but not mean, simply pointed observations. Mier swallowed around his own nerves and went to take a seat at the mans table. A little wobbly for the sitting. "I will settle for the bagel to start though, yes...and..ah, your name, also, maybe?" he knew him, he must have, what other reason would he have had to come home with him? Eyed the aspirin and food like it would save his soul, like it carried all the answers to the questions he hadn't yet asked. The fact that pain killers sounded just as delicious and life sustaining as actual food was a marvel to him. As much a marvel as the slow fuzzy thoughts of a stranger in a car and dancing and nice warm hands...Mier decided he would collect context clues, piece the fuzzy bits together until it was less a picture made in melting wax and water colors, and something a little more firm.

Ah, so he didn't remember. Gilmore tried not to deflate at that, the smile staying on his lips and then just let him have the food. He poured a cup of coffee before putting sugar and milk on the table near Mier in case he wanted that. "Gilmore. Gil. We met at the club last night. You're at my place because... well, you were really far gone. Someone tried to grab you and I got you out safely. I didn't know your address, so we just..." He paused and shrugged, sitting down in the only other chair at the table. He pushed a hand across his chin, rubbing his chin lightly. "We didn't do anything though." Planned on it, but he hadn't gotten that far yet. "We danced though." He felt like he was skipping around in the story. Gil looked off to the side for a minute, squinted, and then shrugged. "Eat. Take the aspire, drink the coffee and water... I figured you wouldn't be feeling that good. Trying to talk low for your head." Honestly he was surprised the sun wasn't getting to Mier like it did him. Everyone was different, he supposed. He wanted to ask if Mier had somewhere to be, but at the same time he didn't want to feel like he was rushing the other off. It was kind of really awkward, the whole situation.

Took the words in as he swallowed the bits that were offered to him down. Pleased beyond reason to have abatement to the sting of the morning. To listen to soft even words that didn't boom like the pulse behind his eyelids. "Why? Mnn, did we not do anything - ah - aside from the obvious reasons, yes?" Words spoken behind mouthfuls, small bites, behind sips of precious hot liquid. "It's just, was there a reason we shouldn't have done things? Am I not your type?" flippant even around a sigh for the relief of having the little comforts of morning. Had he brought him home only as a good Samaritan, shame, very much a shame, because Mier could've looked. Oh, for weeks, and months and years. Etched that into his mind, all sorts of yes, and he could see why he would've been agreeable to dancing with him, to spending time. Contemplated the visage of him past a soft sound of pleasure for food and hot coffee, and how considerate the man was to offer those things in tandem with the blessed bottle of pain releive beside it, like mints on a pillow - good service. Mier wasn't quite sure how it'd been while he was drunk - drunker? More wasted than he'd ever been in his life because it was only the second time he'd gone to a bar, ever...and the first time hardly counted because it was a shed with alcohol and not a bar at all. More a rave really. Was sure that it must've been - something - "It's a shame that there weren't things. I should want my a** to hurt from more than simply falling on it - oh..hah, maybe that is how I can thank you then, yes? That's how these thing's work, you've done a good thing, are doing good things, so there must be a reward in it." bright little smile, and the gloss was gone, but his lips were naturally pink, soft veneer of peach and he propped his chin up on one delicate palm as he asked the questions like they were easy, like he was oh so clever to be thinking of them.

He thought about how best to answer this question. "We definitely... had chemistry. And I wanted, but you were too far gone. Consent's sexy, but there were already drinks in you when we danced. You weren't able to say yes without influence." He scratched just under his lip as he spoke. "Then the guy came up and grabbed you like that. I don't know how but you ended up on the ground. I did punch him, yeah, but like..." He sighed. "I dunno. I guess you sorta went into shock 'cause of that and the liquor. Didn't feel right." He studied the other, noticing how his hair had escaped the braid, how the make up was smeared a bit from sleep, how that face was still red and flushed from just waking up. Worry got in the way of anything. "I'm not the sorta guy who expects something. So we don't have to do anything. You can't be feeling that great."

Chemistry sounded good, and Gil looked good. "Not in this moment, not today, but maybe a week from now, then? Maybe somewhere a little less...ah... that. I'm amenable to such things you know, dates, that's something people who portend to having chemistry do with each other. A sign of things." hummed around another mouthful, the bagel slowly disappeared, the coffee steadily followed. Perfect with the offer of cream and milk aside it. "Oh, I'm absolutely miserable, you may trust this, but I also couldn't be happier. Everything aches, and my head feels like it's been split with an axe - just - if not for this chair I might be on the floor again. Walking was a very ginger thing to do, many careful little steps." grinned wide for it, slice of a smile, because it was the honest truth. The mans room had been blessedly dark and cool and soft. Absolutely wonderful...The man himself was, surprisingly sweet? Sugar and dark chocolate. A confection in broad strokes. Mier licked the crumbs from his fingertips, liked the flavoring of it all, heedless of manners this early in the morning.

Brown eyes met pink and Gilmore couldn't help the laugh that happened at the proposition of a date brought up like that. His elbow rested on the table, head cradled in his hand. Dreads moved as he leaned forward, sliding off his shoulders and in front of him. His lips stretched into a wide grin and a bit of spark came back to his eyes. Had he been worried about what if this kitten was so docile when he was sober. At least he wasn't going to be a boring person. "So in other words, I would be honored to take you out?" Gil stuck his tongue out a little before watching him lick those delicate fingers. Okay that should not be legal. Clearing his throat, Gil nodded. "Why next week? Just busy until then?" Honestly why wait? Tomorrow was always there. Mier seemed to still be interested in him, so that was good. "I'm just glad you didn't run out of the door as soon as you could." Wouldn't have been the first time. It was one of the reasons consent was sexy. He hated being run out on like that.

Oh, and the way he said that. Mier beamed for it, absolutely glowed, mussed and bedraggled like a rat from a bar fight, but still he glowed with how pleased he was for Gils words. Thought he was a man who would get him, very well indeed. "You see this? This is why I couldn't have done such a thing? Run out and miss on interacting with such a smart, handsome, person? I'd be the fool~" soft snicker for that, wince that followed as he just 'oof his poor head' - easier to massage his own temples, peek out his thick lashes at Gil as he breathed through it. He'd been nervous initially, but honestly, Gilmore had been so still and welcoming, maybe if he'd been anything else? He would've made for the door, but as it all stood - no one looking to chop him into little pieces and store him in a fridge would've also made him breakfast and spoke softly - behaved as a skittish gentle giant. Given him their bed and slept in a chair.. too sweet."Hmm? Ahh...next week works for a number of reasons. Many-many numbers of reasons." soft breath and, the slow blush of realization that chased over his features. Slash of color as he realized what next week held, belatedly, abruptly. Swallowed around wondering whether or not it mattered really. "I have an.. event coming up, it'd slot in better if we gave it a week. Oh, you may have my information until then - to text - or call?"

A noncommittal hum at his words at first, following up Mier's snicker with one of his own once the boy realized how bad his head actually hurt. He pushed his dreads around, back, and quickly tied them up with ease. "An event. Alright..." He wasn't quite sure what to make of that. Gil knew events happened, but it was really weird for it to be stated like that. At least in his opinion. But at the mention of a text or call, the larger man perked up and grabbed his phone. He unlocked it, opened the contacts, and slid it toward the younger man. "Go a head and put in your number, then text yourself. That way you know who it is and stuff." He might be just a little too excited about this. It had been a while since he'd had anything but a one night stand, and honestly, he thought that's where this was going. Sure, the other could just ghost him, but maybe a little trust wouldn't be misplaced this time. Maybe. He wouldn't rely on this kid, no sir. Not yet. "I hope your event goes well, in any case. If you need to blow off steam before then..." He changed to a flirty type of voice, even went so far as to waggle his thick eyebrows.

"Oh, you needn't worry about me forgetting you - this would be an impossible thing. What with you having saved both myself and - ah, my dignity?" many things apparently, drunken assailants and handsy people he'd maybe teased far to much. An absolute gentleman. "Here, let me..." took Gil's phone, so large in his own hands, with how small they seemed around it. Carefully put his information in - wondered as he sent the text to himself if he should've added a nickname, if Gil would add one himself. If he would thrill to see what sort of name he could earn if any from the man, and oh it was indeed a thrill. To have gone out and caused mischief, for however little he remembered personally, he had met a goal, felt it in bone and body and soul for how he'd met it. "There, it's Mier...ah..." thought for a second to search his personage for his phone, patted himself, before reaching into his shirt entirely, secret little pocket and the sigh that followed for finding all of his information there, device and id, and small bit of cashed tucked away against his breast. Hidden little sewn in place, but he hadn't wanted anything in his hands other than drinks. Hadn't wanted to keep track of things if it'd all gone awry.. Had been that smart at least. "It should, its...well...it's really just more of a passing date than an event. It's not a party per-say. Mm...I will..I think, be reaching out before then. To text at least, make sure you're the one who remembers - to work out details and all the other little nuances." was tempted to ask him to bring a gift - thought of the audacity as he didn't know him nearly that well to be soo demanding. Thought instead to find a place with shopping venues, coo brightly at something that caught his eye. Traipse into stores that would've made him blush before, if he'd gone alone, except now he'd have someone to do it with. Could be exacting and playful and enjoy in the fullest all the little trivial pleasures that adulthood promised.

Gil couldn't stop the smile that split his face. Watching the other put in his name and then number, taking the phone back, he pocketed it and felt pretty lucky, honestly. Most would have bolted or at least acted weird upon waking up to someone like him there. "Why wouldn't I remember? I don't punch people for just anyone." Not entirely true. He punched people who kept messing with his friends and wouldn't back off. If he felt threatened, and they wouldn't back off. Basically it was in self defense or defense of someone he knew and loved. You had to be stupid to keep messing with someone he cared for, but he guessed people had death wishes or something. Fingers came up to scratch through what beard he had and hen stretched himself out suddenly. He groaned and threw his hands up, straight up, and popped his back as he arched it and then seemed to collapse into himself and sighed deeply. "Uuuugh, mornings after drinking," he bemoaned, a pout coming to his lips. He hadn't drank that much. Why does he feel so stiff? Oh wait, he slept in a chair. Right. That was it. "Gonna have to stretch so much more today." Or just have an extra long soak after he got back from the gym. With the gym now in his mind, he checked the watch on his wrist and then hummed. "Well, this not party party sounds fun. Hope you have a good time and don't stress out too much." Gil wasn't going to even attempt to invite himself along. It was clearly something but something Mier didn't want to share. Which was fair. They'd met while intoxicated and only hours ago. The weird part would be getting invited and going. "But yeah, feel free to reach out an' text. I'm available a lot. .....on weekends. Monday through Friday I work 12-14 hour days. 16 hours sometimes, depending on what I'm doing. So just... keep that in mind." He wouldn't hesitate to block a needy person. Someone who got mad he didn't text back right then and there.

“I’m very pleased I was worth punching a person for then~” wondered which qualities had made him fun enough to do so, if he’d been companionable, what kind of drunk he was. Excitement that buzzed just beneath the surface for the chance to test that again sometime, to be careful with his intake - or more importantly who he took drinks from, for the sake of remembering. “Mm, oh, the gym, and a job as well - that is - I’m surprised you find the time for other things!! I’m freed up, very much so, for now.” Soft little sigh and smirk for that, wasn’t sure how long that freedom would last before he was saddled with new responsibilities “Mm I promise not to psycho dial you - maybe I can text you silly things then, motivational pictures? Memes.” Clicked his tongue softly against the roof of his mouth, ran it gently over dried lips. He would’ve very much liked to see Gil again - liked to plan - liked to chat and find out more of him from a safe distance. If only because up close the man was so much - so very much a temptation, that he knew he’d cause trouble for them both if he didn’t. “You should take me sometime! I’ve never done ‘gyms’ before, this too could be a thing, maybe I’d like it?” More likely he’d have enjoyed watching Gil work out, but that was something too.

"I don't know if you really 'do a gym'," Gil said, bemused. There was a slight laugh to his voice. "I can bring you though, and we can figure out if you even want to try anything out behind the one day. If you don't want to, you know, it's fine. We just met. I wouldn't make you commit to anything." Already planning another date. That was promising. He wouldn't call their meeting a date. So it would be a first date instead. The grin on his face split wider. "I think maybe a better date would be.... I don't know, a hike to a picnic or maybe the classic, dinner and dancing? Less drinking this time." Honestly a hike and a picnic sounded really fun to him. Not something he did a lot. But dancing? He couldn't not put it out there. "Sober dancing sounds really fun, doesn't it? I think you were good, but.." How would the other be sober dancing? Probably not plastered all over him, but that was fine.
