Thorite didn't know what to do anymore. He was just... going through the motions. Nothing felt right anymore. Nothing. And that scared the ever-living out of him. Or, he felt like it should, rather. But the whole "feeling nothing" thing still affected that. He didn't know what to do except keep working for the Negaverse. Purification was a distant dream in his mind. How could he leave the place that gave him good shelter and access to food 24/7? Being a homeless teenager had greatly affected him, and he couldn't imagine going back just to be good or moral. So, he sighed and got to work, pulling energy from one of the local drunkards with a frown on his face.

The dark energy of an officer pinged off her inner senses, turning the eternal from her patrol path towards another part of town. It wasn't a strong signature... Lieutenant maybe? Ida felt confident in her ability to handle one of the lower ranks of the Negaverse, especially as the closest other Negaverse signature was blocks away, far enough she doubted they'd try to come after her.
A lower ranked officer, alone, likely meant energy gathering. That meant an innocent civilian was in trouble... but not for long. She was close enough to do something about it, after all.
Jumping to the roof of the building nearby, Ida skidded to a halt at the edge, peering down over into the dark alley where she felt the signature coming from. There... A pair of figures, one powered and one not, struggling together.
"Beautiful Petal Darts!"
Bright, glowing petals shot through the dark as the eternal senshi jumped from the building, her hand sweeping out to cast her lowest level magic towards the Lieutenant.
"Let that man go, and back off!" She demanded as she straightened, her arm held across her chest in preparation of another magical attack and her dark eyes serious.

Thorite flinched as the darts pierced his skin, but barely. He whipped around, dropping the drunkard and ignoring him as he scrambled away. "Whoa, hey!" he said, holding his hands up, "We're all friends here. Wasn't planning on killing that guy, y'know!" The adrenaline rush was probably the only thing keeping him somewhat awake and paying attention to this thing that was happening now.

The senshi kept her eyes on the agent as he dropped his victim, but she kept tabs on the man as he picked himself up and ran. This was a new officer she hadn't run in to before, which meant she wasn't entirely sure what he might do now that she'd caught him... Shifting herself with measured steps, she put herself between him and the fleeing drunk, just in case he was the type to go running after them.
It was hard not to feel confident in this situation, though she told herself caution was always called for, no matter what things seemed like on the surface. The officer seemed genuinely startled and inclined to try to fight with her. She swept him a look up and down, noting the lack of visible weapon and the empty hands he held up.
"I'm sorry, but I don't as a rule make friends with people who drain others for energy." Ida said in a steady voice, feeling the bite of the lie. Not much any more, any ways. Her arm lowered to a more relaxed position, but she still held herself straight, her head lifted under it's purple hood. "You seem... new. What's your name?"
Maybe they could get out of this without a fight... if she could convince him not to return here in the future.

Okay, cool, great, Thorite wasn't here to make friends, either. Not really. He was mostly just out here to not die, at this point. He had been so excited about this, at first, being here with superpowers and fighting bad guys from space, but the longer he sat in the Negaverse, the worse and worse he felt. He knew what he was doing—what everyone was doing here—was deeply, irrevocably wrong. But he didn't know how to fix it. He didn't know how to escape. So he just... tried to survive. Which was getting increasingly less possible. "Thorite," he said, slowly letting his hands drop so he could loop his thumbs into his pockets. His wisp peered out from behind his back and chirped in curiosity. "Hush, Loki," he murmured to it, heat rising in his face. Well, that felt sort of... Egotistical, now that he was saying it aloud around someone who was very hostile and not at all friendly.

Ida started as... something popped out from behind the officer. A little mote of light that made an odd little sound.
"Is that... your youma?" She asked as her brows drew together. "I thought only captains had youma..."
Titan hadn't gotten a youma till much later in his time in the negaverse. She'd also never seen any lieutenants with youma... but not a lot of officers ran around with them in tow. It was also... rather small, for a youma. Non-threatening, unless it had some kind of nefarious ability it could use. Ida didn't want to trust it, but there was something that just... lowered her defenses about it. It was so small...
"You call it Loki?"

Thorite laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "No, no, he's not a youma, it's, uh. The star fest this year? There was this thingy we all fought, and it burst into these things. Followed some people home, I guess, so I just... took it in. I couldn't send the poor lil' dude away." The wisp burbled curiously and floated closer to Ida. "Loki, c'mon, don't," he said, reaching out slightly, then pulling back. He didn't want her to interpret that as an attack on the way and end this in even more fighting. They'd managed some kind of truce for the moment, and he didn't want to jeopardize that. Loki ignored him and burbled again, slipping closer with a sound like wheee as it bobbed around in front of ida.

Tentatively, at first, Ida lifted a glowing arm and cupped her hand beneath the light, the markings on her skin faint next to the little light.
Curiously, it felt warm... she'd expected it to, but it wasn't hot like a flame would have been. More like some small, living creature... and surprisingly, she could feel a faint energy signature from it, neither sweet as an Order signature, nor rank as a Chaos one. The longer she studied it, the more she forgot she was supposed to be suspicious of the pair of beings and the more she was just... charmed by the little floating light.
"I was... busy during the Festival. It seems like something strange happens every year around that time..." She said softly. "This is the first one of these I've seen." Maybe worth asking around to see who else had one follow them home. Was it just Negaverse officers? Had anyone on order side gained one?
"I admit I'm... a little surprised you've kept this one around. It would be easy to drain the little energy it has." Ida's eyes finally lifted and she studied the officer with a thoughtful expression.

Thorite watched her pet his little wisp with a smile on his face, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. This was kinda nice. Just... relaxing. He hoped she wasn't luring him into a false sense of security or anything, but he couldn't help but feel kinda warm and fuzzy right now, when his wisp was trusting someone.
"Yeah, the fest was... weird." He made a face. "They followed lots of people home, from what I hear. All over the place."
Then she said the thing about draining it, and panic surged through his body as he reached forward to snatch Loki away, ignoring its little alarmed wail.
"Never!" he said harshly, holding it close to his chest, before he remembered that Order people didn't have the power to do that. But he didn't know what power she could have to kill it just hurt him for being Chaos or something.
So much for trusting Loki's instinct.
"He's my friend. I wouldn't do that," he said, a little steadier in his voice.

The senshi let the little light go without a fuss, simply dropping her arm as she watched the officer with something like a tired expression.
"The Negaverse's need for energy is boundless and never ending, in my experience, and I caught you draining someone who is not as strong or as fast as you are... Its not a big leap, from a person to a strange light." She said. "Though I suppose you probably don't drain your human friends either?"
She didn't want to have to scare him away from draining here... maybe if she could talk him around to it, he might agree to go elsewhere for his quota. It wasn't, in the end, a real solution to the problem, but at least a few people would be safer. A sad drop in the bucket...

Thorite rolled his eyes. "Of course we don't take from our friends." He paused. "Those of us that have them, anyway." He'd be friendless very shortly, he imagined, considering the decision he was leaning heavily towards making, by this point.
"Look, I get it, it's your job to fight me or whatever, but I'd rather just go home right now," he said tiredly.

Ida shook her head slowly, feeling tired herself.
"Maybe think about why you're okay draining people you don't know, but not okay doing it when its a friend. I don't suppose I can get you to agree not to drain in this part of town at all?" She said, waving a hand at the area around them. "This is the part of the city that I consider under my protection, and I'd rather work something out with you than have to get into a fight about it."
She paused, her lower lip between her teeth, and studied the young man with solemn eyes.
"If you ever want an alternative to... this." She said, nodding towards the direction his victim had fled. "I know a way out, and people who can help. And I shouldn't be too hard to find, since you know where I patrol."

Thorite nodded. "I'll leave it alone," he promised, "And... I'll... keep that in mind."
Maybe he would take this way out. But he'd think about that after he got far, far away from here, so he turned on his heel and left.
