Camera/Filming -- Like Melody, Meirin found a love for modeling thanks to her auntie just in a completely different way. She easily became fascinated by the cameras and film crew that it easily turned into a photography hobby. And then from there it was really only natural that a camcorder would soon follow, though she relies more on her phone these days.
Her favourite subjects are her best friends and cousins, which are one in the same really, and you can bet if they spend any amount of time together her phone is out and on one or both of them at any given time. More so if she's having them try on outfits she made for them. Admittedly more of her focus does tend to land more on Melody then Dongmei but only because after some time Dongmei becomes increasingly uncomfortable in the spot light. Being the daughter of a former model, Melody is far more used to it.
Fashion Design -- Also spurned on by her fascination with her auntie's job in the fashion industry, Meirin fell in love with the many fabrics and what could be made with them to be put on others. It started with clothing made haphazardly for dolls and stuffed animals, then moved to herself. After finding videos on youtube on how to better sew, both with and without a sewing machine, and how to make proper patterns (something that took a little longer to master), it became much easier to make something that lasted longer.
From there it went from better clothes for herself, things she could even wear to school, to clothing for her cousins and honestly she never looked back. She loves to find a good sale for fabric and everything she needs to make clothes and prepares months in advance for styles for the upcoming seasons for them all. They also coordinate their Halloween costumes towards the end of June so she has time to plan and sew everything to be ready for their favourite holiday.
Most of her closet is created by herself and she does, on occasion, take clothing commissions.
Singing -- A lot of the women in their family line are musically inclined and Meirin is no different, though her talent lies in singing. Let's face what the day brings!Adaptable -- Despite what her struggle against disorder and her need for things to often be a certain way, Meirin is surprisingly adaptable. Though she lives off of scripts for streaming she can happily go off script when need be, especially if she wasn't able to properly prepare for certain questions.
She's a quick thinker as long as she doesn't get overwhelmed and can usually find a solution in a pinch. She's learned how to deal with mistakes thanks to her adaptability, like learning to make multiple copies of a list when going shopping or even making sure it's in her phone so she can't lose it. I am thankful for...Appreciative -- Meirin has always been aware that she and her family are better off then most, hard not to when one has family that either owns their own businesses, was a model, or is a lawyer. Because of this Meirin has made it her goal to work hard for her future place in life, not wanting to rely on the help of her family's reputation. Sure she gets an allowance from her parents and that goes towards the purchases of her materials, but really that's the only way they even remotely financially help her towards her goal.
She does, however, like to use her family's wealth and influence to help others. She's been known to donate unworn or lightly used clothes, help out on occasion at soup kitchens, and likes to start pay it forward chains when out to eat. She did what?!Gossipy -- Curiosity killed the cat and well, she may not be a cat but Meirin has a definite curiosity for anything and everything juicy. Surrounded by gossip her whole life given familial occupations, she's grown up often hearing about all the stuff going down between models, in the hospital, even some stuff from the law firm (nothing telling of course, just the petty stuff that goes down between divorcees and cheating spouses mostly) and it has unfortunately wormed it's way into Meirin's personality.
From rumor mills and blogs, to even eavesdropping on conversations, Meirin must know what is going down. There's a rush in knowing the latest scandal happening, a need to figure out how it changes one's perspective about the person in question, a desire to discuss it with someone. She all but lives on the local gossip column and forums when she isn't working on projects or in school (not that school has stopped her in between classes and lunch lbr), chatting with others.
While it's given her great listening skills it has also made her a bit judgemental in regards to the characters of people, always wondering who's hiding what and what kind of person that makes them. It also leads to her wondering why people do what they do, what makes people cheat on each other for example. She also tends to go out of her way to finding out the gossip. She has, on more then one occasion, had to be dragged away by her cousins so she wouldn't follow some people just to continue listening in on the gossip that was happening between them.
Oh but this would look so much better!Fastidious -- There's a place for everything and everything must be in it's place or Meirin can't really function. Everything in her sewing room must be kept in specific locations/containers, her fabrics are kept in color order; and by sheers, patterned, etc., her closet must be color ordered, shoes are not allowed in the house...
And that's not counting how caught up she can get in the finer details of her projects, always scrutinizing or finding better ways she could have done something. More then once she's undone hours of work just to remake it. She has to have lists of what steps she must do things in, and that's not even for projects. When it comes to settling down for homework there's a list that must be made in order to better prioritize the class work, her shopping must be written in a list, lists are her life savers and new ones get made every year just for the start of school.
She also works best with a script in mind, at least when it comes to streaming. In order to make sure she gives her viewers the best content she's been known to write up a script to work off of just so she can make sure she's giving all the information she needs to accurately. She also makes sure she has answers to potential questions written up as well.
When faced with disorder she melt down due to being overwhelmed with the disorder before her. She often wants to straighten it up but finds she can't figure out where to start. Stress bubbles in her chest and she tends to find herself crying while her brain circles in thought of what the process should be and more then once she's found her hands in her hair, tugging tightly. Meirin's dream is to become a(n) singer/idol or a fashion designer, though she's pretty sure fashion designer is more obtainable. She's focusing on singing/choir while attending CeCe's while planning on switching her focus towards fashion design. She loves to put her favourite cousins in her designs and film them, which is about as close to modeling as Melody gets anymore. Meirin finds herself ever so grateful that Melody will at least model for her. If she does go the fashion designer route, she has plans to work almost exclusively with her aunt's modeling company. Hua Cho (36) is an RN at Mayet Memorial. She was a young mother, giving birth to Meirin at age 20. With help from her brothers, and her husband when he could, she was able to enroll into college to go for her nursing degree. Niu and his husband were often the main babysitters. Dongmei, Meirin, and Melody are really close because of this. Yu-Jie Cho (37) is a lawyer, following in the family business and set to take over the practice when his father either steps down or dies (his father isn't sure which will happen first). They take a lot of high profile cases but aren't above doing pro-bono work for those who need it. Unsurprisingly the firm, as well as himself personally, work as the main family lawyer for both the Klein and Kai house holds. He works a lot, often spending long nights at the office though he did do his best to be home most nights when Meirin was younger. General Appearance
Meirin's hair, unlike her cousins', remains untouched by hair dye simply by choice. A dark brown that looks almost black, it's very straight and long. Because of the length she often keeps her hair pulled up in a variety of styles, though you can never go wrong with a quick and often used favourite.
Her eyes are almond shaped, purple with hints of brown within, and narrow. Her face is rounder and a bit more heart shaped, with a rounded though slightly flat nose and full lips. She shares a facial shape with Dongmei, almost looking quite similar, though she is much lighter in color to her cousins', light skin with a golden tone.
Meirin stands in between her cousins' at 5'4", sharing Melody's willowy build but having less in the asset department. Not too much less but when compared to her cousins she is definitely smaller in those areas.
Fashion wise she's more along the lines of Melody's style of dress, wearing a variety of styles and types. Though while Mel is moving towards a more sporty/casual type of dress Meirin is moving towards the cuter style of dress.
