Hyperborea opened her iridescent eyes and she was greeted with the beautiful and familiar site of her wonder. They had appeared on her acropolis. There were iridescent cherry blossoms floating along a gentle cosmic wind. Beautiful and unearthly flowers and grass covered the grounds only interrupted by the marble pathway leading the various statues and building of the acropolis, they gave off a heavenly scent. A great bronze statue towered behind them it's raised weapon catching and reflecting the light of the stars off into the distance. Beneath them stretched the expanse of the city of Hyperborea. The Greco-Roman esk style city of far larger than anything humans had ever build both in scope and the size of the individual buildings clearly made for beings much larger than a human. Above them twinkled an infinite expanse of diamonds sewn into the dark fabric of space however three bright purple stars stood out against the rest.

"I welcome you Læraðr of Neptune to my wonder ." Hyperborea said giving a proper introduction with a curtsy to the newly minted page. Her wisped bounced happily behind her.

Læraðr shivered as he was taken to space by Hyperborea to Hyperborea. Weird thought. He opened his eyes as she began to speak and he stared, slack-jawed, at the sprawling city before them.

"Whoa," he breathed, turning to give the entire place a good look. It didn't occur to him to look up for a long moment, and when it did, the sky took his breath away.

"Holy s**t," he said in—well, wonder, and the internal pun made him giggle a bit. "This is... beautiful. Thank you."

He turned back to her and gave a slight bow, feeling a little awkward.

"Merci." She said delighted as ever to see someone's breath taken away by her incredible city. "Although wonders come in all shapes and sizes from a single building to sprawling cities or even mountains and forests, they are all breathtaking in their own way. As a knight of the Cosmos my wonder is a bit different from most, most wonders will reside on a planet however mine is set in the middle of a triple star system." She explained pointing to each of the pule stars that were rotating around the city in a figure 8 pattern.

"My wonder is along the path to the Cauldron, where all starseeds originate from and where they all return to when we die so that they can be reborn." She explained. "Stop me if something doesn't make sense."

"Follow me I'll show you around." She took him to a beautiful but modest villa. "This was the home of the current knights. I use it anytime I need to sleepover but I mainly only come here for a few hours each week to recharge and explore."

He nodded along with her explanations, soaking it all up. He'd probably have to ask about these same concepts again later—his brain was more swiss cheese than sponge—but for now, it was understandable.

"So reincarnation is real?" he questioned as he followed her to the villa, placing a hand over his chest where the starseed was. That... kind of shook his world. He wasn't exactly a devout Catholic, but he still was one. That just... made him feel weird.

He wasn't sure how to reconcile that.

Hyperborea nodded "Senshi and some Knights can even see glimpses of their past life." She had only just recently experience the sensation herself, after Theseus had passed on she had found herself seeing glimpse of what she was certain were his memories.

She noticed the man had a bit of a distressed look. "Are you religious? I was when I first became a page. I was raised Catholic. It's a strange feeling knowing the ins and outs of the universe. It's all old news for me now but I can remember how strange it felt learning it for the first time." She confided. "I can't tell you how to process this all, but I will tell you I've seen many different interpretation over the years. To some the greater powers of the universe like Princess Cosmos or the Code are the true gods of our universe. But to others there is still a greater divinity beyond it all, after all just because things are different doesn't mean everything we believed in was wrong.

"Speaking of religion." She said as she made her way over to the largest temple on the acropolis. "The ancient Hyperboreans worshiped their ancestors and considered the deceased knights like gods. This is a temple to the first Hyperborea. It is also the entrance to the labyrinth where my Code piece resides." She explained.

Læraðr nodded absently. He decided he would just... think about it later. Now was not the time to have his spiritual crisis.

"Labyrinth? Sure hope there's no Minotaur in there, but as you did mention Theseus..." He said this with a wide grin, patting one of the pillars and "ooh"ing over how smooth it was.

Hyperborea giggled at the minotaur comment. "I haven't found any minotaur at least not yet. However that doesn't mean the labyrinth without danger. It is always magically shifting, only a knight of Hyperborea can navigate it safely. So its dangerous to go in there without me present." She explained.

"Oh I suppose I should explain that too since it might involve your wonder. Some wonders have a ghost of the previous knight, I believe it happens mainly when a present day knight is a blood descendant of the previous knight. Theseus was my ancestor. I wish you could have meet him, he was a giant literally." She said motioning that he was significantly taller than even her. "So don't be too surprised if you happen to meet a ghostly alien at some point."

"So I've been talking alot but what about you? That was a gym studio back there right, do you work there?" She asked making small talk as she walked across her acropolis past the iridescent cherry blossom trees that were scattered around the grounds.

Læraðr's eyebrows shot up. Ghostly alien? Oh boy.

"Uh, yeah!" he said, flashing a smile at her. "I teach aerial silks. Some people call it ribbon dancing, but that's an entirely different thing. Still pretty, but aerial silks is more of a head rush. I love it. Maybe you could join my next newbie rotation in a few weeks!"

"That's good it's helpful to be physically active already before you awaken. I once meet a senshi who incorporated gymnastics into her fighting, she was very strong." She thought back to Juno, she wondered what had happened to the Senshi of the Canopy, she hadn't seen or heard from the woman since she was a squire she hope the woman had just retired or something and nothing bad had happened to her.

Hyperborea put those thoughts to the side at the mans offer. She thought for a moment, putting a finger to her temple. "I'd have to move around my schedule a bit but that does sound interesting and it could be good exercise for my core muscles. I'll think about it." She promised before a thought hit her. "Oh yeah, you seem pretty interested in it so I doubt I need to tell you this but its better to go to wonder at least once sooner rather than later. There's going to be a treasure somewhere up there for you that's very important." She said holding up her hand with her signet ring. " These rings allow us knights to communicate with one another, among other things."

She made her way to a marble structure that looked like gilded ramp. "I'll just show you one more thing tonight. After that I need to get back to Earth." She said with a smile , besides she felt she might already be overloading the poor page with information, unfortunately there was alot to learn they didn't exactly have the academy of old that they could turn to to teach newbies at a reasonable pace. She placed her hand on the back of the ramp and channeled a bit of her energy into it. The marble slab that appeared to be the back of the ramp slid down revealing a staircase descending into the mountain that they were on top of. The walls of the stairway had strange hieroglyphic depictions of giants in various battles and activities. The hallway was lit by glowing gemstones. "This is a shortcut past the labyrinth." She explained as she began descending.

Læraðr nodded, putting his hands in his pockets (Oh my GOD, he had pockets in this uniform, thank <********>) and listening quietly to her once again. She seemed to be an absolute font of information, which he figured had to do with him being green.

Well, blue-green, he thought distractedly as he looked down at himself.

"Whoa. Cool. Alright," he chirped, following after her again. This was so cool.

Hyperborea lead the way down the stairs various glowing gems embedded in the decorated walls lighting the way. Eventually the stairs ended at another slab of stone. Hyperborea removed the slab again with a bit of her magic opening up to a white room. In the corners of the room stood four statues of unnamed knights of Hyperborea. All along the walls, floor, and ceiling, were veins of energy embedded into the walls. The veins meet in the center of the room where there was a floating crystal with a small ball of iridescent light contained within. The crystal was sending a cascade of iridescent light across the room at regular intervals. The crystal radiated ancient power and wisdom.

"This is my Code piece." Hyperborea explained as she walked towards the crystal placing her hand on it. It was comforting being so close to the core of her Wonder, "Every piece looks different but they're all the source of our magic. There are also two core Code pieces on Mars and the Moon, they are neutral ground not belonging to any single knight." She explained. "These are the heart and soul of our wonders."

Læraðr's head was on a swivel once again as she led him around, looking at all the veins of energy and just... how everything came together so beautifully. The architecture was amazing to look at.

Damn, if only he could make something like this in the Sims.

"Wow," he whispered, looking at the crystal. The Code piece. His hands itched to reach out and touch it, but he knew he shouldn't. It wasn't his piece.

"I can't wait to go find mine. See what my place looks like."

Hyperborea smiled she was happy to see how awe struck he was at the sight of her Code piece.

"I'm sure it'll be a wonder to behold." She her iridescent eyes twinkling. "But I think that's enough for today. I have a date I need to get to and I'm sure I've overloaded you with more than enough to think about. If you ever need help just give me a call once you have your ring." She offered her hand to take them back to Earth.

Læraðr blinked slowly and then nodded, suddenly feeling weary. Once it was all over, the exhaustion rushed in and he drooped a little as he took her hand.

"Thank you."
