School: St Cecelia’s School of the Arts - She's a freshmen as she was held back a year due to her illness. Although she's less interested in the "classics" and more into the "modern". She often finds herself yawning through class where she'd much rather be in a Glee club, a Kpop dance group, or even a dance team! Man, why doesn't this school compete in anything interesting...
Occupation: She doesn't have an after school job. After her illness her mom decided she didn't need the extra stress and just kind of lets her live her life. She still goes back to Mayet Memorial Hospital to volunteer and chat with other kids who are also on chemo, but she'd never actually tell anyone this.
Hobbies:
- Singing/Humming She loves to sing. In and out of the bathroom, down the halls, in class when she thinks the teacher isn't paying attention. She's always caught up on the latest songs on the radio singing along, but her all time favorite song is Light Up the Night. She finds it extremely inspirational and it came out during a time that she was in the hospital on one of the endless rounds of chemo. It kept her going and still does through the toughest times. Dancing/Running She loves being active and moving. Her two favorite ways of doing this? Dancing and running. Neither of which were things she could do when her cancer was active which is why she enjoys them even more. The 'burn' makes her feel alive as well as keeps her in tip-top-shape for when she's discovered to be an international pop idol. Got to keep that bikini-body all year around. She also keeps up on the latest dance moves and enjoys working on by learning the dance moves from Bollywood movies and music videos. She can also sometimes secretly be found at arcades playing Dance Dance Revolution, Dance Rush, and Just Dance.
Shopping She loves shopping for anything and everything that she doesn't need but are in the latest fashion magazines, blogs, and social media. Every time she goes out shopping she comes back with an arm full of bags, and she likes to go shopping often if she can help it.
Exploring Having spent so much of her life in a hospital she enjoys being alone from time to time. She's known to start walking and/or running listening to her music and spacing out with no rhyme nor reason where she was going to end up. This has brought her to many interesting places that most other people haven't experienced. Her favorite places she's archived into her little black book in her head for future remembrance, although often 'how' she got these is unknown even to her.
Personality Summed Up: She's charismatic and has the ability to lead, but she has several flaws keeping her from that. She's best in a second-in-command position. She's generally loud and likes to hear her own voice as for many years it was but a whisper.
Pros:
- Whatever has got you down you can overcome it, all you need is a little help Optimistic -- Having battled her whole life against cancer and won she's learned to look on the bright side of life and that one is rewarded by doing this. If life has got you down Katarina is around to cheer you up. Take you out for karaoke, to the new bubble tea store that opened, or just to help you out with homework.
You can't rain on my dance party Charismatic -- Goes hand-in-hand with her optimistic side. She's always seen with a bright smile on her face, skipping, humming, dancing, and letting all know around her how great the day will be. If it's a rainy day she has an umbrella that is spinning around in her hand and is skipping through puddles, splashing the water up and giggling like a child in delight. She's always full of energy and ready to take on 'almost' any tasks given to her, as long as it fits her needs.
Alright everyone, here's the plan Planner -- She's known to thoughtfully plan out something that's far out in the future thoroughly, especially if she wants it, like a new fashion design that's coming out in a week so she needs to save up a little cash here and there for it. This leads to her ability to plan meetings, hangouts, activities, and adds to her ability to lead.
Someday my prince will come~ Someday I'll fall in love~ Hopeless Romantic -- She dreams that someday someone will come along and she'll fall in love. She has several hot guys pinned to her bulletin board above her bed and she goes to sleep and walks up staring at them. Not only are they hot but they're also successful is some form. This is her dream guy and she's determined to snag one!
Kat, your teacher said you nodded off in class again... A Dreamer -- She had strong aspirations and dreams growing up of being discovered as an international pop idol. She dreamed and doodled of the outfits she'd wear, singing in the shower, dancing on the playground, until the cancer first showed up. It wrecked her body but it couldn't steal her dreams away from her mind. Although she knows she's getting too old to be discovered she still hopes one day that she'll be able to sing in front of a large audience and have her voice heard. Now that her cancer is in remission she happily hums and sings for all to hear.
Cons:
- Death is constantly whispering over my shoulder Afraid/Cowardly -- Although she keeps this side of her hidden, since she has had several close encounters with death she values her life greatly knowing that it can be taken away from her at any moment. If the going gets bad she's known to run for the hills. She'd rather save her own tail than someone else's. A personal flaw she's hoping to work on and overcome. This is also the biggest flaw that keeps her from being a leader.
I AM the best Selfish -- If it's her or the other guy she wants it to be her every time. This comes out with a very demanding personality at times. She NEEDS to get what she wants. If she doesn't it sometimes leads to hissy fits and several things being broken and ruined.
A Venti Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino non-fat with an extra shot and... High-Energy/Wiggly -- She has problems sitting still for lengthy periods of time. She likes being on her feet shopping, dancing, singing, and overall moving. She enjoys being up and active and sometimes finds herself tapping her feet or pencil too loudly and getting yelled at. This also means she's sometimes the first to act as she can't sit patiently by for very long. This can be good, for days like Black Friday, and bad, like when spying on a guy she secretly has a crush on and accidentally sneaks up too close to him so that he spots her.
You're going out in that Quick to Judge -- Although she's optimistic and charismatic towards everyone, she's quick to judge who you are before getting the full story. She observes your clothes, voice, behavior, grades, and whatever other information she can gather without actually talking to you and puts you into a little black book in her head. She knows exactly who to go to for specific help in school subjects and which jock would look best on her arm for the up-coming dance. Of course, as we know not everyone fits into a little black book, but until you prove otherwise your place will not change.
General Appearance
She pulled the curling iron out from her cream hair leaving a loose bell curl that stopped at her shoulder. Gathering the rest of the curls in the back, she added a pink clip bow. Starring at herself in the mirror, she retouched her blush, added an extra layer of mascara, and popped her pink lips at herself. Her bright orange eyes winked back at her and she flicked her hair back over her shoulder heading towards her closet.
"What to wear..."
She loved dresses. The poofier and frillier the better, she found that this helped accentuate her petite frame and athletic frame, plus she just looked adorable. Her eyes scanned her closet and landed on a cream and brown sun-dress with puffy short sleeves and a puffy skirt. The cream and brown helped accent her olive and tanned skin tone. Small pink bows are laid out around the dress with brown lining. Perfect. She smiles plucking the dress from its hanger and quickly puts it on. She grabs knee-high cream socks with ruffles out of the closet and a pair of brown Mary Janes. She throws off her pajamas onto the bed and puts on her clothes. Then she finds some pink bows in her closet to accessorize. She places one pink bow on each of the tongues of the Mary Janes matching the one in her hair.

- A little on her illness Her first spout of cancer showed up when Katarina was 8. Although her body was small, she fought it off. The next bout showed when she was 14 and she beat it back into remission again. Hence why she's behind in school. Growing up she attended a Mayet Elementary School until the first cancer struck. Then, her mom decided to home-school her. Between some educational classes and donations of textbooks by the hospital Katarina tried her best to keep up with her studies until the second cancer struck. She fell behind which is why she's just now entering school again. Her mother and her knew that being asked to join the school was a privilege that she should not turn down no matter how much she may struggle to keep up with her peers. She was being given a second chance at a life and she was planning on taking it.
A little on her family Katarina's family is made up of her mom and a little brother. Their dad died when Katarina was young but seems to have left a substantial amount of money with her family. Her mom never really talked about their dad much growing up so she doesn't know too much about him.
