Dancing - Usually badly, but he really enjoys it. He is no professional, not by a long shot, but if there's any form of music that he can tap his foot to, he will. He's had more than one accident dancing in the shower to his favorite songs, crooning out along with them. He even dances while he's jogging down the road, which often ends up with him tripping or something.
Fitness - He's big into fitness, both for strength and show. He gets up early every morning for a run, then spends time at home working out, then at the gym. He's often found jogging or walking to get groceries. He enters all sorts of foot races to help with endurance training, hiking to help as well. He has tried quite a few different kinds of 'designer work outs' like P90 and P90 X. Ultimately he spends five or six days a week just working out for at least two hours ever day.
Virtues:
Self-reliant - He's very much a self made man. Having been one of many children to a single mother (after a divorce when he was young), his older siblings all decided to get jobs to help out their mother, which meant Gilmore fended for himself. He looked up videos to teach himself how to cook, sew, figured out most of his homework on his own. He got himself a job, a car, and his own apartment. He works very hard to take care of himself, to make sure he'll always have a roof over his head, and some food in his stomach. He doesn't often need direction when on a task. Once he understands it, he can be trusted to be left alone.
Loyal - Gilmore is loyal to a fault. Once he considers you a friend, he will lay down his life for you. If you don't like someone, he will not go behind your back to talk to someone like that. He will believe his friends words over a strangers words most of the time. Gilmore is that constant friend that's always in the corner cheering on his friends and defending their honor. He's gotten into a few fights defending them.
Altruistic - He does not shy away from helping people. If he sees someone struggling to carry groceries while he's in the store, he'll often put off his own shopping to help out this person. He's held someone's child so she can get herself situated after crying herself. He's pulled over on the side of the road to help a turtle, putting it on the opposite side of the street.
Flaws:
Self-reliant - Because he had to do a lot for himself, Gilmore doesn't really like having to ask for help. It sends him into a state of sadness, and anger that he has to rely on someone else. It really does mess with him. He feels like he is stupid, starts struggling with self-worth. It ruins his whole day, basically, if he has to ask for help, even if it's something like changing a tire because he had a blow out, or having to ask if someone can get something for him. Even the most simple things.
Hot headed - Most of the time, Gilmore's a pretty happy dude. When he gets angry, he gets angry. It's a slow simmer. He'll start off getting grumpy. Gilmore will frown more, huff, and start to talk less. If the situation that's making him mad continues, he'll try so hard to keep it under wraps. But, he explodes like a bomb. It comes out in a very dramatic fashion of screaming, and throwing things. (Never at people, but he'll pick something up and throw it at the floor, or at a a wall behind him.) If the situation still persists, Gilmore will start bowing up, getting in someone's face.
Careless - Gilmore can be pretty careless and not pay attention to his environment. Because of his big size, this is an issue and often leads to damages like broken things. Sometimes he's so careless that when he's talking about something he can state things way too bluntly and end up offending someone or hurting their feelings. He may say something a bit too sharply trying to get some point across.
