Name: Peregrine Thomas Diver
Nicknames: Perrie
Pronouns: he/him
Age: 19
Birthday: 23 January 2002

School: Mayet University, in his first year studying animation.

Hobbies:

 • Juggling -- Perrie's parents gave him a "Juggling For Kids" kit when he was seven, and he became obsessed with it until he mastered all the tricks in the book. Juggling is still his primary relaxation tool, as well as a great conversation starter and his main source of income (he busks after class and on days off for money). He'll often absently juggle whatever is at hand that's suitable; he always carries around some small balls of some kind, but it's more fun to just pick up random small stuff and start juggling it. He's quite good at it too, as one might expect after over ten years of practice.

 • Classic Cinema -- Perrie's great love is vintage cinema, especially animation. The works of Disney Pixar and the old Warner Bros. Looney Tunes are among his favorites; this includes both the traditionally-animated masterpieces of the 20th century as well as the more recent CGI classics. One can depict things using animation that simply can't be done with live-action; special effects fall into this category too, and he loves to play spot-the-effect while watching movies, figuring out how they did it and how he'd do it differently (and better, of course). He has a deep appreciation of the silent films of the early 20th century as well, with a particular fondness and admiration for the works of Charlie Chaplin (a man who truly did it all, and did it his way) and Buster Keaton (a master of physical comedy and something of a role model for him).

 • Going Out To Coffee Shop -- One of his favorite ways to spend his downtime -- coffee, delicious food, and all manner of interesting people to interact with and/or observe. He's also found that he works better at the coffee shop, and will usually take his sketchbooks and laptop with him so he can just people-watch and draw (and do his homework too, he's not a complete slacker). He has several preferred coffee shops he likes to go to; he's something of a coffee connoisseur and has his particular favorite places, basically any place that serves a nice strong coffee with lots of interesting flavor notes. He takes it black, of course.

Pros:

 • All The World's a Stage Raging Extrovert -- At his heart, Perrie is a genuine people person, extroverted, social and sociable. Bouncy, hyper and wacky, one tends to either love him or want to shoot him with a tranquilizer dart. He is an outgoing person who's friendly and fun to be around, with a goofy sense of humor and no shame whatsoever. Fun is a big motivating factor for him; he believes life should be about having fun, and he can manage to find the fun in just about any task or situation. As a performer on the stage of Life, Perrie is on all the time; he loves to play to a crowd, and to him, the world is his audience. He's a happy, zany little weirdo who just wants to be everyone's friend. The zany weirdo bit is somewhat deceptive, however, and always delivered with a metaphorical sly wink; he may seem like a total flake, but make no mistake -- he knows exactly what he's doing. Well, most of the time.

 • Only Fools and Horses Wise -- Despite his young age and over-the-top eccentricity, Perrie has that kind of naive wisdom that comes from having an unconditional faith in humanity (here naive = unsullied and non-cynical). He faces life's challenges with energy and optimism, which almost always ensure a positive outcome. Perhaps it's his relative lack of life experience, perhaps it's the unique path he's chosen to walk, perhaps it's the mushrooms talking; but everything he does, he does with an undying optimism and hope. His brand of crazy wisdom tends to shock and/or surprise those he's talking to, but it also tends to get them thinking about their problems in different ways, and coming up with clever solutions to what's going on.

 • I'll Draw You a Picture Creative -- Perrie's strongest trait by far is his creativity. Cultivated from a very early age at the encouragement of his parents, his imagination is powerful, vivid, and running at full bore all the time. It overlays his perceptions to the point that he has felt like he's living in a double-exposed film, or constantly looking into an alternate dimension, for most of his life. His attempts to depict what he "sees" there have helped him develop his artistic skills, and while he's not the best artist in the world, he has a unique drawing style that gets the point across. More importantly, he has a strong sense of Story; he understands that storytelling is the oldest and still the most effective way of transmitting ideas, something that he feels a lot of film-makers and animators seem to forget.

Cons:

 • Manic Pixie Dream Boy Idiosyncratic -- Perrie is a deeply odd young man. He's his own little subculture, and this sometimes costs him in terms of potential friendships. He is a non-linear thinker -- his mental processes go off in all directions almost constantly, but he can follow all the different trains of thought in his head and come back to where he started, and can pick right up where he left off usually without missing a beat. This guy also has no sense of tact; he's honest and blunt to a fault (because frankly, he wouldn't know how to lie if his life depended upon it). He has absolutely no inhibitions and no internal governor over his actions or his words -- this sometimes gets him in trouble, as one can imagine. Far too impetuous for his own good, he just doesn't know when to shut it off and toe the line. He has the relative attention span of a gnat.

 • My Way or the Highway Contrary Control Freak -- Perrie is defiantly independent, determined, and stubborn as a tiny mule. He's something of a control freak and prefers to be in control of his own destiny, thank you very much. As control freaks go, though, he's not all that terribly interested in controlling the actions of others; he believes everyone is ultimately capable of making their own choices in life. And that includes him. Naturally contrary and rebellious, Perrie will often deliberately do the opposite of what someone wants him to, especially if he's pissed off at them, just to be a s**t. (Hint: Best way to get him to do something? Tell him he can't or shouldn't do it.) It's admittedly rather shallow of him to dismiss something simply because it's popular, and he knows it, but Perrie hates mainstream anything. He is the first to cry "Sellout!" when someone whose work he likes makes the big time, because he truly feels that anyone who does that is selling out to The Man, sacrificing their vision for fame and fortune.

 • Little Big Man Short -- Being little and cute has a lot going for it, and the vast majority of the time Perrie deals with his lack of vertical stature just fine. It's when he gets talked down to or treated like a child or something less than an intelligent human being because they won't see past his small size that it becomes annoying. There is more than a bit of Short Man Complex at work here, that tendency of some small men to compensate for their lack of height with aggressive behavior. With Perrie, he becomes loud and abrasive, and will stomp around like a little bantam rooster with a chip on his shoulder the size of a plank, practically begging for someone to knock it off. He got into a lot of fights in school over his height.

General Appearance

Eyes: His eyes are large, more round than almond-shaped, and bright, with long dark lashes and a sly twinkle. And they're mismatched -- his left eye is a bright apple green, his right eye a golden brown. They are topped off with dark straightish eyebrows that are almost comically expressive.

Hair: Bright eye-searing neon fuschia-pink, worn in a shaggy shoulder-length mess that hangs in his face constantly.

Face: Mostly round in shape, he has fairly soft androgynous features, a straight nose and a slightly pouty, full-lipped mouth. His left nostril is pierced with a simple stud. He has a fair complexion and tends to tan rather than burn.

Body Type: Perrie is tiny, really tiny for a full-grown man. He's all of 5'2" and 105 lbs, bird-boned and wiry, with narrow shoulders and hips. He moves like a cartoon character come to life, with somewhat exaggerated and rubber-limbed gestures; every action is big and expansive, so even though he's physically small, his presence is HUGE.

Clothes: He dresses like a thrift store tatterdemalion; his basic look is part raver, part punk and part street urchin, baggy and oversized and worn. He typically wears ripped jeans or baggy Hot Topic pants held up with suspenders so his boxers don't hang out, mismatched Converse All-Stars (he has several pair, all of them mixed up colorwise), random faded t-shirt, sometimes worn over a long-sleeved t-shirt, and an old tweed newsboy cap. He adds a fleece-lined denim jacket, ratty fingerless gloves, and a long multicolored knit scarf when it gets cold. His favorite color is orange, because it clashes painfully with his hair.

Sailor: Parsifal, Senshi of Alternatives

Uniform Color: White

Primary Color: Traffic cone orange #FF4F00
Secondary Color: Bright fuschia-purple #C61FCF

Uniform:

Collar -- Orange hooded cowl extending to his shoulders.
Brooch -- Round shield-shaped silver brooch.
Chest Bow -- Fuschia-purple scarf knotted beneath cowl, tied in a bow in front.
Bodice -- White close-fitting sleeveless top tucked into shorts.
Bottoms -- Orange baggy board shorts extending to just above his knees.
Tiara -- Silver knotwork tiara set with orange agate.
Butt Bow -- Fuschia-purple and floppy.

Accessories -- Arm warmers/sleeves, extending from wrists to armpits, in orange; purple high-top sneakers with orange laces.

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Make a Choice
Parsifal calls out the attack name and a single opponent within 10ft of him is suddenly overwhelmed by thoughts on at least a dozen alternative ways that the flow of battle can go. None of them are specific enough to be a clear correct alternative, but being bombarded with so much information leaves his opponent briefly stunned. Duration: 15 seconds/1 post. Uses: 3x per day.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Choose Your Path
Parsifal calls out the attack name and up to three opponents within 12ft of him are suddenly overwhelmed by thoughts on at least a dozen alternative ways that the flow of battle can go. None of them are specific enough to be a clear correct alternative, but being bombarded with so much information leaves his opponents briefly stunned. Duration: 30 seconds/2 posts. Uses: 3x per day.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Destiny
Parsifal calls out the attack name and anyone within 20ft of him are suddenly overwhelmed by thoughts on at least a dozen alternative ways their life could go/could have gone if they hadn't made the choices they'd made or done the things they have done; it can also show possible outs, things they could do to change their future. The thoughts are specific enough to point to the opponent's past and potential future; needless to say, being bombarded with so much information that seems to be so on point leaves his opponent stunned. This effect degrades over time, so 1st post gets the full impact; 2nd post, it begins to wear off -- thoughts are still a jumble but they can start to be seen through; and by the 3rd post the thoughts have cleared up, but the feeling of being utterly overwhelmed remains for this last post. Duration: 45 seconds/3 posts. Uses: 1x per day.

When and where were you awakened 3 years ago, in London, England

What have you been doing for the past 3 years? Perrie was taking his A-levels in Film at City & Islington College in London when he was awakened. He enrolled at Goldsmiths ULondon in their Media program, but in the last year he felt a calling to somewhere else and relocated to Mayet, where he and his family went on holiday once. He transferred to Mayet University's Art and Animation program and has continued to explore both animation and his senshi abilities.

What stage would you like to start at? 1st!

Please provide us with a link to your Alternate Universe journal so that we can confirm you are importing your character. here!

Greetings! Thank you for your interest in bringing Perrie/Sailor Parsifal into the By Moonlight setting!

Before we can approve him for play, there are a few things that we would like to review!

Civilian Side --

In the nature of keeping things PG-13 in order to fit Gaia's setting, we'd like to request that 'mushrooms' be removed as one of Perrie's hobbies. The MPA seems to base this rating on momentary/casual references, such as scenes where paraphernalia is visible, brief conversations, etc. We understand if this is something that Perrie does, but it shouldn't be the profile's focus on who he is.

We would actually recommend taking a look at his entire profile and considering who he might be without this entirely, given the Alternate Reality setting that we've put Mayet in -- a world that has had almost 30 years to change its outlook on the way mental health and substance use/abuse are treated for the better. With a better system in place it is very likely that something like ADD would have been caught early (even in the real world they've gotten so much better at catching/diagnosing it over the past 10 years, nevermind the kind of progress they might have made unhindered otherwise). We're not asking you to remove that as a part of his character, just to strongly consider how a diagnosis would effect/impact him differently -- especially given that there is now way more information available on the subject of ADD vs ADHD (link provided by a member of staff who has ADHD). From discussion, it looks like most of how you've written him applies to the ADHD hyperactive-impulse side of things and less the inattentive ADHD (which is what ADD is now called!

It is still possible for Perrie to be extroverted, creative, a bit of a control freak and short-fused without making it seem like the only reason why he is those things is due to brain chemistry.

Powered Side --

Uniform -- Shop artists will work with you where they can in regards to Parsifal's uniform in order to bring it up to By Moonlight standards. At first stage, Parsifal's uniform will be very basic with the 'must haves' depicted in the reference image that can be found here. Sailor Soldiers are also required to wear shoes, although there is no restriction on what type of shoes they might be!

Sphere and Attacks --

Before we can really get into things with the attacks, we'd really like to help narrow down some general things in regards to the sphere. It seems like there's a lot going on and we have a few suggestions overall!

Alternatives - Sticking with the sphere that you currently have, we would recommend making adjustments to the attacks to focus on alternatives, in this case with the definition of possibilities. An example for a starter base stage attack using this definitition would be:

Parsifal calls upon his magic and a single opponent within 10ft of him is suddenly overwhelmed thoughts on at least a dozen alternative ways that the flow of battle can go. None of them are specific enough to be a clear correct alternative, but being bombarded with so much information leaves his opponent briefly stunned. Duration: 15 seconds/1 post Uses: 3x per day

Decoy or Distraction - Swapping Parsifal up to being the Senshi of either Decoys or Distractions could work as a starting point for adjusting the attacks that you currently have. Our suggestion for a starting base stage attack to build off of would be as follows:

Upon activation, Parsifal can create three images of himself to use as a decoy/distraction. The sudden appearance of multiple Parsifal'sis enough to distract his enemy/act as a decoy for his opponent to attack, especially since it is difficult to tell which version is a copy and which is really him. Duration: 15 seconds/1 post Uses: 3x per day

Proxy - Another possible suggestion, just based off of pulling the definition of alternatives. In this case, we would suggest powers something along the lines of:

In lieu of being attacked, Parsifal activates his magic and summons a double of himself to act as a proxy for an attack he was supposed to take, the proxy taking the damage instead. If Parsifal is in close proximity to an ally (within 5ft) he may summon this proxy to defend them instead. Duration: 15 seconds/1 post Uses: 3x per day

With all of those as base points, it's just a matter of picking which one will work for you and building the remaining attacks off of the sphere from there. You have good ideas, we'd just like to see them narrowed down to something more specific!

thank you, that was great feedback! ^__^ here are the changes I've made:

 • removed the magic mushroom hobby and replaced it with coffee XD

 • removed the references to ADD/ADHD, and I deeply apologize if I offended or triggered any of the staff, that was not my intention heart

 • made his senshi uniform more simple and basic and added shoes!

 • changed his attacks to reflect the "possibilities" side of alternatives -- your suggestion was great, so I kept and adapted it a little bit!

I hope this works better for you! ^__^

We honestly appreciate you working with us and the updates to the civ side look great, so thank you!

On the senshi side of things --

Basic & Super look good!

One quick bit of feedback on Eternal and we should be good to go:

We would recommend bumping it up to 20ft (max range for an eternal attack) and instead of only effecting one person we'd recommend making it an AoE so that anyone who happens to be within that circle of Parsifal gets instantly hit with the effect of the attacks. We think that the 3 post limit for the duration of the attack is good, but we would suggest a degradation of the effect over time.

ex. 1st post - full impact
2nd post - starts to wear off, still a jumble but can begin to see through it
3rd post - the thoughts have cleared up but the feeling of being utterly overwhelmed lingers for the duration of this last post

Something like that gives you the ability to really make the most of your eternal attack while still being something others can work around in an RP scenario!

Sailor Scout Attack: Make a Choice

CONGRATULATIONS SAILOR SOLDIER! Your character has been approved!

The Watchful Guardian provided Parsifal with his henshin pen and communication device. He communicates with him to check in and provide updates periodically, typically via text (somehow, despite not having thumbs...) and at least once every few months in person to follow up on his progress, letting him know that as soon as other Mau become available they can discuss assigning him to someone who has the freedom to check in more frequently AND helping him make connections with other Sailor Soldiers.

When Parsifal mentioned that he was headed to Mayet the Watchful Guardian said good -- he had a feeling that's where they'd be needed anyways, more of a hunch, really... It was a good starting point, at least, and he'd follow up with more information soon.

We would highly recommend setting up a [Powered Journal] to keep track of your role plays! Please also see the [Import Art Thread] for how to obtain your powered art.

We look forward to seeing you around Mayet!

**Please note, powered Role Play is unavailable at this time. Civilian roleplays are welcome but may not be used for growth requirements until after Powered RP is released in the shop**
