There's a Love Hina novel coming out soon. It has the original characters and story by Ken Akamatsu but in novel form, with few pictures.
It turns out the novel is based on the manga NOT the anime, but was penned by Kurou Kazuki, who was the scriptwriter for the Love Hina anime.

Thats good... when you say coming out soon, do you mean soon to be published in Japan, or outside of the country?

There are actually 2 novels. I believe the second was by Akamatsu himself. If you look aroud the guild, there is a thread with links to reviews and summaries of both novels.

The novel, at least the first one, is now available. I picked up a copy today. Now I just have to find the time to read it. So much in queue already.

I purchased the first installment of the novel. It's like reading a fanfic [not a bad one, though]. Keep in mind, the author of the novel [Hazuki Kurou] is also the writer for the LH anime, but that's not a bad thing since the novel isn't supposed to be the LH story in plain text [there's already text in the manga; that'd be pretty boring]. I guess you can say the stories in the novel is like the "lost episodes of Love Hina"; in some ways, a sort of spin-off. It doesn't really fit in any specific time period of the manga, it's just as if Akamatsu made LH into a 'Slice-of-Life' genre like AzuDai, so chapters are just random events. And although it's a novel, there still are pictures here and there; sketches and other things. You may even recognize some of the clipped images from the original manga.
Now, the translation of the novel in my opinion is... eh I guess. I can't really say since I haven't seen the original one in Japanese, but who's to say I can read Japanese that well. sweatdrop The tone of the translation seems like typical TOKYOPOP American accented talk, if you could understand what I meant. It's not great, but not bad.
I await the next installments.
