Finley was outside exploring. So far he hadn’t gone too far from the ship on his own. He didn’t want to get into trouble, and not be able to defend himself properly. But he was still curious about what sort of things lay in the outermost edges of the dome. In the meantime, he had come across some neat items nearest the ship. Currently he was taking a break though. He rested near some bushes, with his bag of items next to him. It only held a few neat rocks, some interesting-looking herbs, and a few flowers. But despite not really knowing what he was looking at without a field guide, maybe he had gotten lucky and found something useful that he could show to Argent and the others. That or maybe some of the plants could be added to a cooking recipe. After a while he had come to the conclusion he should mark down on a piece of paper where he found the items. This could be useful later on down the line. He was about to head back to the ship for a pad of paper and something to write with when he heard a noise. Dash was exploring all around the lakeside. His quarry today were bugs and fish. The fish had been out at dawn; he had learned that they liked to feed at that time, and so he drew pictures of fish jumping out of the water. How the water slid away from the fish's body was difficult to capture but he was getting better at it. Now on the lake's surface, several types of insect either buzzed along the water's surface (in which case there was sometimes a fish there to devour it), or Dash attempted to capture it with a net that he would release it from after drawing it.
The sound Finley heard may have been Dash plodding through the woods on his way back from the lake. He had purposely gone out without packing a lunch just so he would take a proper break to eat. So he headed back toward the ship. That was when he happened upon Finley while he skirted around a thicket of bushes. "Oh, hi! It's F...Finley, right? I'm Dash."

The boys didn't know that another set of eyes was watching them....a large set of eyes (relative to the size of the critter, of course) that looked on with curiosity from the bushes, big ears tilting as they listened to the spoken noise. The little treefox had been looking for something earlier but now her attention was on something much more...enticing...specifically the bag that was sitting next to the big creature wearing sky colors. If there was one thing she knew it was that bags contained things...good things...especially food. It was this logic that had the curious little critter creeping closer so that she could nose her way into the bag and explore, her long fluffy tail held up in a twitching question-mark shape.
"Peach? Come on, it's almost lunch time; seeking time is over!" Amy called out as she was coming out of the tree line, a bag of her own strapped across her back as she was looking around with a somewhat worried expression. She caught sight of the two familiar boys and quickened her pace to walk up to them. "Oh hey, Dash! And Fin, right? I remember you from the lake party Kanja had." She smiled warmly to them both but she still looked concerned. "Have either of you seen a little treefox with a white spot on her forehead? I was training her but she went off somewhere.."

Finley looked in the direction the noise had come from. To his surprise Dash appeared. That was his name right? Luckily Dash had immediately introduced himself or Finley would have been panicking about whether or not he had his name right. He waved and offered Dash a smile. “Hello! Yup, it’s Finley. But you can call me Fin if you want. It’s nice to see you again!”
At the moment Finley was oblivious to being watched. He didn’t even notice the critter creeping closer to his bag while he was talking to Dash. In fact, he was about to ask Dash what he was up to this fine afternoon when another familiar face appeared! It was Amy! She had also been at the swimming meet-up.
Fin smiled and waved at her too. “Hi, it’s Amy right?” he paused, “A tree fox?” he asked. “I’ve never actually seen one before. What do they look like?” He started to get up from his spot on the ground. “We can help you look for them if you want. Right Dash?” He turned back to pick up his bag and spotted a furry little creature in quite close proximity to it. “Oh!” he exclaimed, in surprise.

"Hello, Amy!" Dash had a grin for the girl but tilted his head in confusion. A tree fox? He thought he knew what that was, but he did not try to name things as he saw them in nature. "I don't..." Then he caught a movement out of the corner of his eye next to Finley's bag. While Finley offered to help find Peach, Dash reached over the bag to open it. "Is this who you're looking for?" he asked, peering at the cute little critter. That was right about the time Finley also saw her.

Amy nodded when Fin got her shortened name right and smiled at Dash but the concern was still clear on her face. She was glad that Fin said he'd help her look for Peach. She was about to describe what she looked like when she heard Fin's exclamation, looking over to Dash when he asked if the critter in his bag was the one she was looking for. Sure enough, she spotted Peach poking her head out of the bag in a very guilty fashion. "Peach! That's not my bag, that's Dash's. Come on; to me.."
Amy tapped her shoulder and made a clicking sound twice, which caused the little treefox to perk up her ears and jump out of the bag. She ran over and skittered up the girl's back to perch on her shoulder, Amy handing her a nut as a reward. "Sorry about that. I hope she didn't get into anything you had in there..."

Finley watched in amazement as Peach obediently came over to Amy when she made those noises. It was pretty fascinating. He didn’t have much experience with animals. On top of that, the tree fox was pretty cute too! He wondered what it would be like to have a pet. He smiled, and checked his bag; though there was nothing really of any great importance in there anyway. “It’s fine. There were just some berries, herbs and things. I can always get more should we need any.” “I was just about to head back to the ship actually. Are you all heading that way? We can walk together if you want.” He walked over, a little closer. And a thought came to mind, “Umm before I go though...is it okay to pet Peach?” he asked. He was a little nervous, but he figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. After all, he didn’t want to scare the tree fox. But at the same time, they looked so cute and fuzzy. ((I figure maybe they hear the squeaking of the mouse things on their way back towards the ship if they head in that direction, maybe to get lunch in the cafeteria? xD whatever works <3 ))
