Dinara was fingering her new hairbow as she left the Merchant’s bubble with Mourite beside her. She was still holding his hand, and honestly, she didn’t want to let it go. It felt nice. Warm and friendly…
Like she should always be holding it.
“Are you okay?” The page looked at the lieutenant, obvious concern on her face. “You started crying after listening to the rock...and I just...it worried me...Tonight...has been a lot but...I want to make sure you’re okay before we part…”
...And before I maybe never see you again…
The thought made her stomach twist and ache in sorrow and she quickly squashed the awful feelings as best she could.
“...Can we meet up again, Mourite? Kanan? I don’t want...to have this all have been some kind of a dream I...I missed you so much and…”
And I don’t want to lose you again. Letting go of her ribbon, she reached up and used her free hand to wipe at the tracks that the male’s tears had left behind. “...You’re important to me.”

Mourite glanced at Dinara for a moment, then glanced away, spinning the stone in his fingers. He felt her fingers on his face, the warmth of her hand in his. "Yes, of course we can meet up again. As for if I am okay..." Somethings were better left unsaid, but...
The lid on that box had already been ripped off.
"Come with me," he said, tugging on her hand and guiding her away from the bubble and towards the cemetery. He was silent the whole way, eyes distance and steps full of purpose. He pushed the gate open some time later, guiding her towards a small selection of graves in the back. He stopped in front of one of them.
'Raelyn Carver XX - XX May the stars guide you home'
"... When I listen to the stone I hear my mother's voice. I have not heard her voice in... years. She and I were very close until she died," he said quietly, looking at the gravestone. Maroon eyes slid to Dinara and he sighed. "Sorry this is... really depressing."

Dinara held on to Mourite’s hand, feeling more than a little giddy that they were still holding hands...and that he wanted to hold hands while they walked. Almost like he didn’t want to let her go. It felt very nice until he headed into the cemetery and that made her pause just a bit.
...Was he going to kill her? Was this some elaborate set up?
No...he led her over to a gravestone, and started talking about how he heard his mother’s voice in the rock that the merchant had given him...oh.
Dinara hesitated and looked at the headstone with a wondering expression. “...It’s not depressing, Mourite...I’m...honored you’d share her with me…” She squeezed his hand and leaned over to rest her head on his shoulder. “...What was she like? Does...does it help to talk about her?”
Maybe it did...after all, he brought her here, didn’t he?

Mourite smiled, resting his head on hers. "She was... starlight. My father is... an entitled a*****e who honestly has more of the mindset for this Negaverse business than I do, and claimed my mother as a 'trophy wife'. He married her because she was 'exotic' and her family has lots of money. Raelyn though, all she wanted was to paint and create artworks. She was a gentle soul, frail in body but strong in heart." He glanced down at the stone in his hand for a moment.
"My father did not appreciate that I took after Raelyn instead of him, in body and mentality. He... She protected me from the worst of the abuse until she couldn't anymore. I... found her in her study the day she died. I was ten." A sigh left him as he finished, squeezing her hand with his. Man, this really was rather depressing. Probably dangerous too, giving out the names of his parents but honestly... he was sure the Negaverse knew all of this anyway, and he'd never seen the White Moon use it against someone. No, that was more the Negaverse way.
But now she knew. That was something, he supposed. Not sure how to feel about it yet.

Truth be told, Dinara hadn’t really even registered that she was being given a lot of information about Mourite’s personal life. If it had dawned on her, she might have thought it was almost amusing...not being told his true name for so long and then learning all of his secrets in one night...but…
His story made tears slowly fill her eyes and she swallowed, hesitating for a long moment before moving closer to him and hugging Mourite tightly, pressing her face against his chest and just holding him.
“I’m sorry you had to go through all of that...I’m sorry I can’t bring her back for you. And I’m sorry I can’t protect you from your father. You deserve better. The best. You’re amazing, and I’m glad you take after her! I never met her...obviously but...you’re sweet, and kind and wonderful, Mourite. I think she would really be proud of you. Maybe…”
She looked up, her glasses smudged from the tears that she hadn’t been able to stop.
“...Maybe sometimes we could come here and paint a little? Um...in memory of her? And leave them here as gifts? The uh. Paintings I mean. Not like...vandalize the place...that would be horrible…”
And perhaps she would come and bring flowers too. Raelyn deserved it. Mourite was wonderful.

She was hugging him. He was getting used to that, to be honest, just having someone wrap their arms around him and hold him. His mother used to, but his father never once. No, the closest he got was a slap on the back and even then, those hurt. Mourite wrapped his arms around Dinara, hands and arms buried in the absolute mountain of hair she had and held her close.
"Thank you, Dinara, thank you that means a lot," he said into her hair, letting out a soft sobbing sigh. Maroon eyes looked down at her as she suggested painting and he chuckled. "Yeah, I think she'd like that."
His hands left her hair, cupping her jaw. Thumbs brushed the stray tears away from her cheeks. She shed tears for him, for him, her enemy, the guy who lied to her and the guy who tried to tempt her to the Negaverse. By all rights, she should hate him, should want to hurt him, should want nothing to do with him. And yet, here she was. In his arms, crying for him, staying with him.
"I don't really deserve you... deserve this, but stars do I need..." he said, leaning down and pressing his lips to her, tasting of salt and tears.

“Well if she would like it, then we’ll do it. It’ll be wonderful. She deserves the world for bringing you into the world.” Dinara’s words were soft, but firmer than normal. She believed this. She wanted him to know that she believed this. “Of course you deserve me...I…” She hesitated and melted against him, so happy with the kiss, feeling so utterly complete with it.
She would have to see if the others would allow her to have this too...she didn’t want to not have Mourite...now that he was back in her life...she wanted so deeply.
When she broke free of the kiss, just enough to draw in a breath and rub her nose against his. “...I fell for you. I haven’t stopped looking for you...I...I think I fell in love with you...so please...please know that you do deserve this...and I do want you. Completely.”

Something surged in his chest and he crashed his mouth against hers in a desperate kiss, crushing her to him like she was the air he needed to breath. He didn't deserve this, he really didn't, but he wasn't going to push her away if she was giving herself to him.
Because he needed this, more than he deserved it, he needed it so badly.
Someone who he didn't have to put on a face, he didn't have to change and morph himself for, who he could just be himself with.
"My little star, stay with me, forever."

Dinara shivered and clung to him tightly, nodding and returning the kiss, desperate to keep it going, but after a moment she took his hand and placed it on her chest. “Touch it again, Mourite. Don’t run away again. I like when the people I trust touch my soul...my starseed. Tell me how beautiful it is...it’s yours, you know. Everything of mine is yours. I won’t ever leave you. I would wait forever to be by your side…”
Her breath came in small gasps, but god, she wanted. Needed him. Needed this.
Needed forever.
...She would have forever now. It would be wonderful.
“I’ll always be yours. Your little star until there are no more stars in the sky.”

Gods he shivered at that. Heat licked up his spine as she tempted him with her soul, her starseed, her everything. How could he deny her when she was practically begging in his arms? A hot sort of hunger built low in his belly and he licked his lips. A sly wide smile split across his face. His fingers gently stroked her skin, teasing with the tips of his fingers.
"Such a needy little star... how could I deny you now, I wonder..." he said, voice rough and smooth at the same time. Maroon eyes flicked down to his hand on her chest. "Since you asked so nicely, my little star..."
His hand sank into her chest with ease and closed around the object at the very core of her being. It pulsed against his hand, begging him to pull it, begging him to consume it. Slowly, ever so slowly he pulled it from her chest, holding it just so as though it was the most fragile thing in the world. It was gorgeous, her soul. Her everything. How fragile it was. Since a small little thing.
"Your soul, your everything, is like holding a star in my hand, little star. My little star. I love everything, everything about you. Your soul, your being, your heart. Your trust. Stars above... You are everything I ever need, and you are mine. Do you understand? No one else may hold your soul like this because it is mine." He growled the words, squeezing her starseed just so to claim it. A lick of Chaos curled around it, though not into it. "Mine."
He brought it to his mouth and kissed it as though it would break up on his lips, a flick of a tongue at the end. His little star... tasted like the cosmos above.
Would that she could see his own starseed, his own soul...
Mourite returned it to her chest, its rightful place, with a soft sign and a kiss to her mouth.

The pain washed through Dinara as his fingers slipped into her chest and gently took her starseed in hand, and for a moment, the pain was replaced by an odd, wonderful floating feeling that persisted as he took the small gem out. He was talking...she knew he was talking, though the words sounded fuzzy, as though they were far away, but...that was all right.
She could still see, somewhat, her eyes unfocused, the edges of her vision going dark, and a pleased, relaxed smile on her face. This was the ultimate surrender, and she just...utterly loved it. Loved when he kissed her soul, when he held it, loved that small bit of darkness that seemed to flicker around it…
“Wish...you could...do it…” Dinara murmured, as the gen was returned to where it belonged and she swayed against him, returning the kiss weakly. “...Wish you could corrupt me right now...wish I could just be yours…” She wanted to go tell her brother and sister...wanted to find a General Sovereign and just...do it.
If it felt so nice to have him hold her in his hand...how much better would the pain be when whoever it was pushed the chaos inside...changing her...strengthening her…
“I want to be yours...I don’t want to have the choice not to be anymore.”

"I could do it, I could do it now but you'd die..." he said, breathlessly against her temple. Gods he wanted to, he wanted to fill her to brim with Chaos and consume her very essence. But he'd destroy her, he'd kill her, he couldn't not at his strength now. No that would break the pretty thing inside her. No, he needed to be stronger first.
Mourite scooped her up into his arms, just feeling the warmth of her in his arms. "Can you wait a little longer for me, little star? Just a little longer, then we can call on one of the General Sovereigns and I can corrupt you?" he asked her, nuzzling her face as he carried her out of the cemetery until her strength returned to her.

This felt so nice. Being carried in Mourtie’s arms felt so utterly perfect. “You should meet my friends too...I think they’ll like you...and they won’t be able to say I imagined you...or that you’ll never come back again...because you’re here. I’m going to tell my brother and sister and...and then I’ll come home. You should marry me, maybe. I’d like that.”
She felt terribly sleepy. It had been one hell of a night. Too many emotional ups and downs...and ups….and ups…
But now. “Mourite? When will I see you again? I want to...soon. Really soon, please. Don’t leave me for another few years or I’ll just...shrivel up and die. You can’t cradle my soul like that and vanish...and…” She swallowed and reached her head up, pressing soft lips against his cheek. “...I’m glad you didn’t run away this time. It feels good...and I’m getting better and not passing out as quickly.”
Dinara gave a smile, resting against his chest. “...Make it soon.”
Make it all soon. Corruption. Love. Kisses. All of it.

"I won't run away, Dinara, not again. After all, you're mine and I can't be leaving you in the care of others..." he chuckled. The possessiveness was new... a little scary, but he'd held her soul in his hands. How could he not want anyone else to touch it?
"Soon, my love, soon..."
