[ 1 / 10 ] Nayyara wandered about the outskirts of Zinris, keeping to the shadows of the trees as she observed the Elaria sisters of the camp. If she thought hard enough, she could envision these sisters across the sea in Kiros, living together peacefully. But that vision was quickly broken considering she was the only Elidae on the island, resulting in her often feeling like a side show or creature that others would rather observe than interact with.
Huffing to herself, Nayyara patted her cheeks lightly to get that mindset out of her being. She was leaving soon with her mother, having returned from their ride at the behest of a sister for one last conversation and possibly a few letters to take across to Jauhar. Nothing important, but many of the elder sisters still missed their kin, or wanted to leave a message for Aisha.
A bit bored and excited to get on the road, Nayyara continued to linger away from the crowds as she waited.

"Come here, you!" Luleta growled out, nocking another arrow to unleash at the hare fleeing her. Hunting with a bow while giving chase was excessively complicated! She loved being able to experiment with the weaponry available to them and learning what worked best with which prey. Perhaps a hare was not the best prey for an armature archer like herself. She wasn't about to give up though!
She burst through the underbrush, raised her bow- and immediately pointed it back down to the ground. It had lead her back to town? How had she messed that up? Not to mention that there was an Elidae standing right there! "Oh, hello!" she greeted with a grin. "Sorry if I startled you."

[ 2 / 10 ] Nayyara felt the vibrations of the forest, but didn't expect a cousin to burst out of the brush like a beast on a chase. Spinning around, the girl gasped as she held up her weapon, before dropping it when Luleta did. An Elaria girl, similar in age to herself, had appeared and seemed to have worked up a sweat.
Nayyara placed her weapons back in their holsters before shrugging, "No worries." She replied simply, before grinning, "Keeping an eye on the borders?"

A quick twirl of her fingers had the arrow slipping back into the quiver, but her fingertips kept in contact with the resting feathers. The Elidae were known for being rather peaceful, but she had been raised to keep on her toes around strangers. That didn't stop her from a bashful smile and a shake of her head. "We always watch our borders around here. ...I was chasing after a hare, actually. I can easily do both though! What are you doing out here?"

[ 3 / 10 ] Tilting her head, her teal dreads fell over her shoulder as she evaluated the Elaria before her. It wasn't anything startling, considering her home was made up of a good mix of Elaria with some Alks, but she did take time to study the markings that made each sister and cousin unique.
Well it did make sense she was protecting the borders, it seemed as if this settlement didn't have the natural protections of an isle. But the Yaeli she encountered seemed more fearful than angry, so what much was there to protect?
Glancing back to the settlement, she could make out the shadow of the tree in the distance. Elzira was healthy, the settlement was healthy, so what was the protection beside a bit of paranoia.
Nayyara wasn't one to poke the bear, so to speak, so she turned back and smiled bashfully, "Well it seems I've scared it off. I'm sorry about that...I'm just waiting for my mother so we can get on our way to Jauhar. I'm traveling across Tendaji to visit each mother tree..."

Luleta waved her hand dismissively. "It was me more than you, I'm sure. I am not the most practiced with the bow, and I was encouraging it to be a moving target." she chuckled lightly, ignoring the very real irritation that she actually felt. After all, Luleta was competitive, and did not take failure lightly. Everyone failed on their way to glory though.
"All of them?" Her eyes widened with surprise and interest. "That's a big trip, if I remember correctly. I've gotten close to Esena, but we weren't actually allowed to see her. We were there visiting my Auntie. ..I can't say that I enjoyed the trip on the way or back home, but it was nice once we were there. I hope we'll be able to see Esena on our next visit."

[ 4 / 10 ] Nayyara evaluated Luleta for a long moment, trying to see if her words were true. The laugh at the end of the statement reassured the Elidae, as she wasn't quite as skilled at reading between the lines like other people in her family. So she brushed it off as an acceptance of her apology and no hard feelings.
"Oh yes, living on Kiros we hear a lot of stories about Elzira and Aisha...and now with the other tree sprouting like our own...I've just been drawn to visiting them." She always was a wanderer, encouraged by her mother to see the world around her, and so it was just natural in her mind to see each great tree in turn.
"Oh, you were on Kiros? I must have been traveling the mainland at the time...I'm sorry I missed you. Yeah...the elders are still getting comfortable with letting strangers approach Esena. I guess them running away with a seed probably wasn't the right start to that whole thing..."
Cornetified bump - do you have time to finish this?

Luleta hooked the bow over her back and let her body relax. It would be a moment before she went back on the hunt. This might actually be beneficial anyway, giving her a break and letting the forest calm down from the last hunt. "I can't say I'm drawn to them, but it would be interesting to see the other trees some day."
Brow rising, she couldn't help the snarky grin that followed. "Well, the Alkidike did it first and made the Elarians. Is it any surprise that it would happen again? Besides, I got cousins from Esena, so I can't complain too much."

[ 5 / 10 ] Nayyara nodded sagely at the response, she knew she was a bit different than most sisters. Typically, an Aishan was always drawn to their main tree. A place where they bloomed and swear loyalty to through their life as a sister. Some would travel to different trees, drawn away for their own reason. Nayyara was different in that she wanted to visit each one, but knew she'd settle back home in Kiros at the end of her long trip.
Or so, she planned.
Luleta's response reassured Nayyara, and her smile was brighter as she nodded, "Right, that's right. And the Alkidike decided to take seeds to Belrea. I can't wait to see that tree...and Belrea. I heard a little bit about their flying ships..."

"Oh, right. I heard about that one. At least the Alkidike didn't feel like stealing for their second tree though." Luleta snorted again. "I love Elzira and my sisters, and my Elidae cousins, but I do wish our origins had been less... chaotic." For all the talk of how bad the other races were, she also heard how much more peaceful they were as well. Hearing about the willing transfer of Aisha's seed made her wish things could be different.
"Flying ships?" Luleta leaned forward. "What have you heard? Do you know how they work?"

[ 6 / 10 ] Her eyes widened a moment at the joke before she giggled in response, and nodded again at her finishing her comment.
"Yeah, we're like one big estranged family, huh." She replied, "Who knows, maybe in a few generations it wont be so segmented...a mix mash of Aishans living in settlements like the Earthlings do."
She trailed off again before nodding eagerly at the turn in the conversation, "Oh yes! My momma had snuck away when she was young with the Elaria mystic. They traveled to the mainland during a festival, and giant ships crashed from the sky in flames!"

"A big family?" She cocked her head slightly. Well, they did call each other sisters and cousins. "I guess we are. I hear a lot of earthling families have members scattered around, so it's fitting. We're getting quite spread out."
Luleta gasped with amused surprise. "They snuck away? Ooh, so your mother saw them with her own eyes! How exciting! But.. in flames? Why would anyone trust something that they saw crash from being on fire?"

[ 7 / 10 ] "Oh yes! She said it was frightful, the sound was louder than thunder and no one was expecting to see flames in the air. Then, when the ships began to sink below the clouds, the Earthlings thought that they'd be crushed by the boats!"
She paused a moment, before adding.
"...well, I heard that some Earthlings actually returned to the islands with them after they fixed their ships. Can you imagine!"

The tale held Luleta's rapt attention. It sounded like an absolutely incredible and utterly terrifying sight to have born witness to! She liked to think of herself as one of the braver sisters, but she couldn't imagine how she would have reacted to such a thing!
"They got back on?! What utter madness." She shook her head dramatically. "The boats can be concerning enough, never mind something that had already been on fire!" She couldn't help laughing a little as well. It really was crazy to think about!

[ 8 / 10 ] "They used some sort of...machines to keep them afloat. I think my mother said they were magical - they had to be as they were powered by fire! But they had wings too..."
She tried to picture it based off of the ships she just traveled on, but couldn't really understand. Maybe they floated on the clouds like the boats floated on the waves, but how did they get there?
"Honestly...I'm not sure I want to ride one. There might be a way to travel by boat...but even that was a bit...wobbly."
