Albite prowled, leisurely, a heel to toe balancing act across a balustrade of rickety brickwork laid across an aged balcony. Fingers laced behind his head and though his gaze was cast skyward, dreads dangling and brushing the bits of brick that lay behind him; his mind was cast inwards. A rare moment of introspection that he usually attributed to people who had 'things that needed internalized'. Often times that meant people with a higher than average I.Q's.
Except he'd been called ignorant - been told it would get him killed by someone he listened to - and the truth in that was vast and all consuming. He couldn't have even made change with the amount of sense that rattled around between his ears.
He'd decided to get himself informed, just that doing it the traditional way. Books and tablets and information consumed in the gloom of the castle halls and office walls - not a bit of that s**t had ever been his style. He couldn't go crack open a cold one and crack open a hand book at the same damned time.
So he'd gone out, gone aura hunting for white moon - dark moon - pink floyd albums, whatever, Albite was so beyond caring about affiliation - so long as it didn't interfere with his own personal mission. Which at the moment consisted of the thinnest of thoughts that centered around 'get info on Senshi' and 'how do senshi work?'
For all that he held the dark corrupted moniker of one, he'd never bothered to learn the barest basics. Nothing more complex than energy draining and star seed snatching one oh one. Get gains, ******** names, so long as he had his slice of the power pie he was happy to let the rest of the world slide.
He'd got his.
He'd worked hard for it...
Magical purple dragon men and wisps turned wanton chimeras shouldn't have been so disrupting to his daily routine.
The frustrated snarl of breath, a sudden tilt to his head as he picked up a distant power source...someone a bit bigger n brighter than himself...maybe someone worth asking questions of - if he squinted just right.
"Can't hurt to ask..." all force of motion as he made a beeline for the beacon - the old brick crumbling in the wake of his step-off.

Super Sailor Nembus sighed. She powered up to find none of the auras she wished to sense. No sign of a similarly-powered senshi of happiness. No signs of a pirate-garbed senshi. No signs of a man whose aura didn't quite fit senshi or knight but rather something completely else. The longer she stayed powered up, the more she risked getting noticed by someone she didn't want to be noticed by, and she pondered if today would be a day where she simply ducked back into the alley, shed her guise, and adopted another guise of Delilah Samson who hardly herself felt like a real person, either. But then she sensed it. Another aura, deep and chaotic like hers, but weaker. A basic corrupt. Someone who might have still had the chance to save themselves if they had been forced into this. Nembus wasn't sure she was capable. She had so little in her life now. She had even less to jump to. Chaos felt like home in spite of everything. Order felt like a spectre. By the same token, what if he was dedicated? What if her words simply made her something that should be watched and should be wary of, and what if she found herself reported to her superiors? What if the General-Sovereigns took notice of her? What if her general appeared out of nowhere to do what she should have done in the first place; what if she had decided to just murder her like she had murdered all the others? It left her frozen, her own version of a fight, flight, or freeze response. She would likely remain there until approached.

‘Pretty’ the thought lingered as he took in her power, the way her hair cascaded behind her like a waterfall. Such a cute little outfit, and while being a Senshi of any kind was a s**t draw, insofar as he was concerned - Albite could proudly say every single Senshi he’d come across looked damned good.
That singular notion immediately followed by noticing how ‘odd’ it was that she was just standing there - stock still in the middle of doing nothing and going nowhere. It reminded him of a deer caught in the headlights. He’d seen deer caught in the headlights before, on passing trips through mountainous areas with friends. Late night trips in an old car. He’nd never come upon a person who so resembled one though. Like he’d caught her with hands in a cookie jar, and if she held still enough he’d move on.
“Hey….uhm? Are you, like, okay?” Cautious in his approach, languid and careful in how he held himself so as not to appear overly intimidating. He knew it must have been strange, some low level basic popping out of the woodwork and interrupting her staring contest with the inside of her mind. “I was just passing through. Felt you from off over there.…got some questions actually? If you’ve got the time.” And he knew how damned ominous he sounded, even as he encroached upon her space, but he didn’t want her flashing off. He damned well couldn’t teleport after her and bounce back n’ forth between the space beyond there. The way she looked she was probably faster then him. Either he was asking her things right then and there or not at all.

Just passing through. Got some questions actually? It was definitely a bit ominous, and she worried, for a moment, that the questions were perhaps related to things like why haven't you been collecting your quota and hey, we've seen you talking to the White Moon, what's that about? and she felt her breath catch in her throat for a moment before the logical part of her panicked mind slowly began to kick back in. He wasn't a threat. He was just passing through. She had asked if she was okay. If he was just passing through, he likely didn't recognize her. Didn't know her name. Couldn't make the connections that she was horrible at being a corrupt senshi or really much of anything with any kind of identity because any identity she had, well, it had simply been foisted upon her and she needed to figure out what she was supposed to do with it from there. Nembus breathed. "Sorry," her voice was soft and mousy like she was either nervous or simply ashamed, "you surprised me." Because to be fair, he had. She was not about to say why. Just a first-level senshi. He was nothing to be afraid of. She hoped. Perhaps he had some information connections and-- She grabbed onto her arm with her opposite hand and squeezed gently near her elbow. "What are your questions? Not sure how much use I can be, but."

Albite grinned, shot for charming and harmless, however poorly he carried the image of 'friendly nice guy' on his frame. He couldn't be upset for having spooked her, it was him who'd come up out of nowhere, and he tended to get that reaction out of people people; surprise, irritation, some vast range between the two where he was either tolerated or not.
"Yah?" quick to jump on her offer, Albite was all motion, gestures and a grin "Only if you've got time and I mean - listen! Someone has to have answers to this stuff, its supposed to be like Senshi'ing 101? You're a Senshi, I'm a Senshi - hotter counterparts to the bleached up team that lives on the other side of the moon right?" a tinge of exasperation to his words as he spoke. One hand settling on his hip while the other ended up shoving his copious amounts of dreads off one shoulder, enough to keep it out of his face.
"My General, love the guy, swear it, but that a** thinks I'm ignorant? Which'd be fine! Except he doesn't know this stuff either..." growled and cut off the words were. Albite stopped himself before he started venting "I asked him - about homeworlds n' eternals - All that stuff, and I asked a godamned dragon." and Albite rolled his eyes skyward, cursed the merchant in his mind for every scrap of trouble he'd caused "Figure I'll ask someone who should know, which is another Senshi right? The places we come from - the place I come from - Praxidike - the ******** do we get there?" tone irate and beseeching all in one, as he looked at the blue haired senshi expectantly. Swore to himself he'd maybe take her out to coffee or food after this, because she looked like she needed something hot in her.
Albite knew his dinky little moon existed, could thank bob for that, as much as he'd like to also have tossed bob into a lake for magical girling him instead of giving him something sharp to play with. He'd accepted his loss of the cosmic coin toss though - what he couldn't accept was having absolutely no knowledge of all the stuff that should have come afterwards.

Nembus couldn't help her relief. He was as oblivious as a box of rocks. She didn't have to worry about this senshi ratting her out to anyone. He didn't even know the basics. He also, evidently, didn't know how to stop talking. She leaned back and nodded slowly as she attempted to pluck out what was actually important to process here -- newbie, didn't know much of anything, apparently thought their black garb was hot -- he was wrong, but she'd allow it -- and his general apparently didn't know anything about senshi, either. For that matter, neither did -- how the hell did he ask a dragon about being a senshi? Nembus supposed it wasn't the strangest thing she heard; for one, it wasn't getting flailed at by a peacock after being sucked into a ship bottle, but it was still a bit bizarre. Of course, she had just fought a giant Wispzilla, perhaps the dragon he talked to had something to do with that -- oh. Oh no. "Praxidike, darling," Nembus' voice was more like she pitied him than held any affection, "the Negaverse takes our ability to get to our homeworlds. We're stuck here unless we join Or--," she squinted, "White Moon." Maybe he'd just ignore that. "White Moon senshi can go to their homeworlds. We can't."

Albite stared, slow and unblinking as he let the information filter in, and through. Tilted his head like a curious dog and propped a fist under his chin, thumbing at it gently. He knew that tone - 'all aww poor thing'. He'd forgive her for it, because even if what she was saying didn't quite make sense, she was really nice to look at.
"Okay...soo....." taking a slow intake of breath and releasing it in a huff, Albite gently scuffed the ground with his heel as he considered how to ask what he wanted. It didn't help that he had a thousand more questions. Picking just one to make a focal point of the conversation was like plucking a favored grain of sand out of the beach. Choice overload on crack.
"One - it's Albite officially - its got more, heh, bite to it, yeah? Two - explain all the rest of that, but like more." and Albite mimicked stretching the words out like so much taffy between his fingers.
"Just...we can't because why, and they can, because how?" It was nonsensical, why have a shitty little moon around Jupiter if he couldn't get to it?
If not for the wisps, and the merchant, Albite wouldn't have cared, but now he had a gaggle of glowing groupies gangling around his shoebox of a unit and the answer he'd gotten of how to store them was - boss's damned office - because he couldn't get to his own 'space', in ********> s p a c e....

Albite. She found herself fortunate that Marcasite had never tried to replace her name with one of a gem. Nembus felt more correct, anyway. She was almost certain it was a psychological thing, perhaps hoping that Nembus would run into someone who was familiar with her former team or her and feel the knife twist at her alliance to Chaos, now. Perhaps that was an unfair assumption. Perhaps Marcasite was just letting her keep what was familiar to her. She would never know. "We can't because the Negaverse -- Chaos -- cuts us off from our natural power source." Nembus crossed her arms under her chest for a moment, looking more through him than at him. Even things like his insistence on the name Albite -- Chaos-fed, Chaos-granted, Chaos-cultivated. Perhaps Marcasite should have ripped her of her name. Perhaps it wouldn't have made a difference. Stillwaterite--Sedna--still had gotten out. "That planet is our natural power source. Since we're cut from that power source, it's left dormant and we are cut off from it." There were ways in getting back there as a corrupted senshi. She knew of ascendence. She was never going to encourage a senshi to hand over their entire planet to Metallia. "That's why they call you Albite. It is a name that more formally aligns you with the mineralistic names the Negaverse uses. Reinforces that you're cut off from Praxidike."

Albite nodded slowly, turned her words over and over and over - like a rock through a tumbler - until the concept was smoothed out, polished. Except Albites mind was less a polishing tumbler and more a rock crusher - turning chunks of information into small, pulverized, bits of gravel.
"Yeah, like...you say that, but---" Albite didn't feel any less powerful, wondered if it was a lack of something to compare it to. Knew the girl before him was sure as hell more powerful than he was, just by way of being - and that was something he wanted. Just like he'd wanted the Negaverse - the chaos of it. He liked what he had, his name - which he chose thank you very much - his general, also a good choice.
Everything he had he'd chosen for himself, with the exception of being a Senshi, but outside of that? All him. Including the all encompassing version of 'them' that was the organization he served, not because he'd had no other options, but because it was the far better option.
"----Look, no offense, because you're stunning yeah, but on a whole? Senshi - suck." Emphasizing himself dramatically with hand gestures, as if to point out the obvious just by staring hard enough at her. "If I could choose anything in the world to be - this - magical girl on steroids? Bottom tier." and Albite grinned as he spoke, put humor into it because it was his own issue, and she looked less than pleased when she crossed her arms like that.
"I am a Senshi though, no ditching that short straw draw, and since I'm stuck a Senshi - like apparently forever, according to the cat - I want what should be my right to have, and you're telling me I can't get a hold of it unless..what? I put on a shirt and cut my hair?" hands held aloft and out, as if to ask 'are you kidding me', as if the explanation wasn't good enough, because to him it made so little sense.
Chaos, order, a ******** color pallet swap shouldn't have stopped him from having what he wanted. He just couldn't comprehend it..

Nembus couldn't help it. She laughed. "I don't really agree that being a senshi sucks," she replied, tilting her head to the side. She could agree that the situation in which she found herself being a senshi sucked. The way she had found herself alive with nothing to hold onto and hardly understanding anything of life, period, sucked. Being the magical girl on steroids? That wasn't so bad. She appreciated her abilities. The outfit wasn't so bad. She liked the idea that at some point, she was connected to a planet. Nembus, she had found out, was a star that those on Earth considered to be in the constellation Andromeda. She found herself horribly curious. She would never know. Her smile quirked. "You're right. Your planet should be something you have a natural right to go to." Her laugh, this time, was quieter and weaker. "The Negaverse takes that natural right from you. You can't get to it unless you opt to leave the Negaverse."

Albite wasn't surprised that she didn't agree, could only be glad that she wasn't offended by his statement. Albite chuckled, laced his fingers behind his neck briefly and rocked there on his heels. He'd let her disagree, even if he personally would have enjoyed having something pointy on hand at his beck and call, or a badass youma for a pet. Hell, even being a Knight, because the Knights - They? Were a whole lot of 'umph'. Senshi was a crap shoot, and the only joy he felt about it was that he was wonderfully blessed his abilities hadn't been absolutely awful. Like weeping his enemies into submission, or blowing a cool breeze out his a**; something stupid like that. "So leaving is the only way to get what's mine, and I get the feeling you don't mean 'taking a vacation day' kinda leaving, huh?" Albite tsk'd softly, the deep sigh for that. He felt like he was approaching a dead end road for getting what he wanted. "Ok, so lets say I wan't my planet - I leave - how does that work?" he'd bug her some other time about promotions, and butt bows, and how to avoid being shoved into a bodice, because absolutely 'not'. "If it involves cats - I'm automatically out. I'm way past done with cats - dealing with the damned homewrecking orbies is enough, don't need any more magical stray pets wandering into my life." firm in his statement, he leveled her with a stare that begged her to continue with the magical moon granting 'out'.

"No, don't really mean taking a vacation day." Nembus blinked in surprise. "I mean leaving the Negaverse. Permanently." She crossed her arms, pulling them tightly to her. Couldn't let Praxidike know she had any clue. Couldn't let Praxidike know she knew someone who had successfully left and had spoken to her since. Could put a bounty on her head. Could put a bounty on her own head. "Don't quite know how the purification process works, but they have people who can take the Chaos from you just like we have generals and general-sovereigns who can put Chaos in you -- wait." She dropped her arms to the side. He didn't just ask if it had anything involving-- "Albite," did guardian cats not tell senshi anything when they awoke anymore or was Albite just dense enough that he hadn't really understood anything he had been told, "you're always going to need cats. If you want to ever level up at all--in the Negaverse or otherwise, you need cats. They're the ones who upgrade our items. And get crystals full of Chaos to infuse us with, here, or," however that worked, that whole moment had been blinding pain that even now, she couldn't quite get out of her mind. If it was good, why did it hurt so much?

Permanently leaving? Albite cocked his head and shrugged, that also wasn't up his alley, he had hoped there was a way to do both - have his cake and eat it with ice cream on the side - some magical loophole deal he could've worked out. He sidelined the rest of the questions that ran in that direction, figured he'd just go hunt down more bright side of the moon babes and boys to ask - maybe they'd know more - if he could get one to stay still enough to answer him. Flighty, fighty, little things. He wasn't eager to talk to anyone General wise..Sovereign wise..or....really anyone other than a Senshi, because everyone else had already ushered him in the 'Senshi' direction. Albite chewed his lower lip, deep in thought over her words. Then she gave him that look, and said something about cats, and just - Nope-nope-nope-nope a thousand times N-O-P-E!"Come the actual ******** on! I need a cat? So if I stay - I'm gonna need cats, and even if I wanted to quit I'd need a cat just to do it?!" honey brown eyes saucer wide, mouth agape enough to catch flies with all the filth that spilled from it. Albite was stunned, shocked, pissed off and befuddled all in one. He'd had zero clue that cats did anything - aside from hand him information on the fact that 'congrats' universe says you're magical, and no you can't have a sword, try screaming and sparkles instead! Senshi sniffers the lot of them, and they should have all been blood hounds for how good they were at it. "Huhn..babe..You're messing with me right? Pretty please, tell me you are." her tone sounded so serious though. He wondered if that was why he'd stayed so bottom tier the whole time, he'd figured it was just because he lacked initiative, ladder climbing wasn't his thing, he literally could have cared less about upgrades! Now he had someone telling him it was all because he needed a cat!? He didn't even know where to find a cat......

"I mean, I don't think you need a cat just to leave, but you still can't upgrade without one no matter what side you're on." To be honest, Nembus wasn't sure if there was a specific reason. It seemed the Mauvians were capable of unlocking more potential in a starseed, covered with chaos like hers or otherwise like Phaethon's was. It also seemed very important to the Negaverse that they have Mauvians. The main thing Nembus knew was that Theodore was a primary reason why she had been able to unlock the super potential in hers-- Before it hurt, and it had hurt so badly. "I'm not messing with you. Needed one myself." Nembus put her hands up to show her innocence. "Once you're ready to upgrade, you'll need a cat. And from what I understand, that when you're ready thing doesn't really depend on you. It depends on your superiors or when the cat feels something or -- something like that. But you need a cat." She paused, and warily clarified, "A guardian cat, of course. Can't be just any cat."

Albite groaned and tugged on his copious lengthy dreads for a moment. Returned her wary gaze with one of despondent regret, that bled into wary acceptance. "You're not kidding, are you? So the bottom line is...." and it hurt him physically to say it, to speak the words into the universe. He knew that once he acknowledged things he'd have to actually go and do something about it. "I-I need a cat, no matter what, to do any godamned thing, until the day I die?" a whine inlaid beneath his frustrated tone. A magical cat - ******** - BOB the cat possibly, and he didn't want that. Wished with desperation that he could have just walked into a local pet store and picked up any sort of feline. Go do a good deed at a pound. Check out DC's local feral cat colonies or something. No...he needed a magical talking cat. A feline nightmare on four paws with attitude and fur. Ones who occasionally had a human form. If he was being honest preferred hot dragon men to humanized cats any day. "Geee..thanks I hate it, all the words you just said? Really just, not a fan, but it is what it is right!" the sentence practically growled through clenched teeth. "So where...and I can't believe I'm asking this, but where do I get one, the magical kind?" since he'd apparently needed one for quite some time, but hadn't had the wherewithal to bother himself with locating one. If she had one he'd take it on loan, treat it real good, give it back when he was done. Heck even if she didn't, he would have taken a location, GPS cordinates, talked to siri or google.
