Star Candy (3) : In your mailbox, locker, or desk drawer appears a bag of star candy! There is no indication of where or who it came from other than a small tag that reads: “Happy Star Festival!” The small, colorful pieces of sugar seemed to almost glow faintly, and after eating them, the world looks a bit different. Cartoonish and much less…real. Is it a hallucination? Is it some new reality? The strange vision lasts only half an hour, and after it wears off, the rest of the candy seems to disappear. How strange!
Tachibana sat on the monkey bars or a playground in a local park near her home half a bag of candy in her hands as she looked up at the moon and stars. She thought back to earlier that morning. Hikari had ordered a new magical girl anime Blu-ray and was checking the mail for it when she found an unmarked bag of star shaped candy. It had no send listed on and Hikari was pretty sure no one in her family had ordered it. The only writing the bag had on it was a note reading "Happy Star Festival!" The candy was very pretty, it was a bunch of different. Hikari hid the bag knowing that if her rather large number of siblings found out then the bag would be so thoroughly divided up that she would barely get any. So the eleven year old soldier snuck back to the room she shared with her twin sister, Akari. She offered to share the bag with Akari after all she shared everything with her twin, well almost everything. There was one thing that she couldn't share with her sister or any of her family for that matter. Her sailor powers, she kept that a closely guarded secret. It was really unfortunate, she wanted to tell her sister about this part of her life but it could put her in danger if she knew. After all Hikari had nearly died on several occasions and Akari didn't have magic to protect her so it better if she just didn't know anything about the powered world and the same went for her other siblings and her mother.
That evening after everyone in the Himura household had gone to bed Hikari snuck out of her bedroom window in a routine that had become all too familiar. Raising her transformation pen to the sky she called out the all too familiar transformation phrase. "Tachibana Power, Make Up!" As sparkles and flower petals surrounded her Hikari was replaced with with Tachibana the chibi senshi of Chrysanthemums. She began scanning the area with her aura sense for any officers or youma causing trouble. She walked around for a few hours searching for any trouble makers and not finding anything. Eventually her wandering lead her to a park that she knew was near her house. She figured that this was as good a place to take a break before heading home for the night. She headed to the playground in the park hoping on the monkey bars. She pulled out her half bag of candy and proceeded to pop one into her mouth. The candy was really yummy however as she munch on the star shaped candy the world around her seemed to morph into a cartoonish land scape. While this was delightful for Tachibana she also realized this meant that candy was probably magical. In hindsight maybe she shouldn't have been eating random candy she found in their mail box but at least the effect of this candy was whimsical and not dangerous. That was when she remembered Akari, she had to get back home, she just hoped her sister hadn't eaten any of the candy yet.
