Wanted Wisps (11) : Small, wispy orbs are floating through the city. They can be found during the day but are far more visible at night. They seem to bob along a few feet off the ground and sometimes flicker in and out of sight. They are warm to the touch and seem to be somewhat magical in nature. Anyone can gather them in their hands; they do not quite feel solid but cannot slip through fingers or escape any container. If you find one of these, you must return it to the merchant. If you do not roleplay with him, it will be assumed that you returned the piece to him anyway; there is no way to keep these.
While he had been going out and trying to drain energy, sometimes succeeding in doing so, he had the displeasure of finding all of these wispy things that were hanging around in the air like bigger dandelion seeds.
And they had gotten in his way several times, including a couple of times where they appeared to tangle themselves up in his long hair. It took half an hour to get them out considering they didn’t appear to have any sort of solid center.
To say that he was unhappy with these wisp things was an understatement, especially when he was trying to do his weekly energy quota. So the next time he had been interrupted by the wispy orbs, he had grabbed one and… well he wasn’t sure what to do with it after that. What were these things anyway? Usually when one talked about wisps he was pretty sure they were talking about souls or something.
Were these things souls? That was weird then.
But it still bothered him that there were just so many of them. As if they had spilled out of somewhere. He couldn’t tell if they had a mind of their own since they appeared to just be hanging around the city.
He sighed and put the one that he had found back into subspace. Wherever or whatever they came from, they weren’t Chaos or Order.
And it was really starting to bother him that he had to make that distinction. It was starting to bother him more and more and made him question whether staying in the Negaverse was the right thing to do. Not in terms of good or evil, just that… he felt as though he would have more opportunity to interact with all of these non-faction magics if he had the ability to go out into space, even if it was just to his own Homeworld. The Negaverse was… interesting, but it it was the only place to go and sometimes he felt like he was a bum.
Sleeping there with other people and trying to find a room for himself. As though it were a house full of people just going in and out of it when they needed to just because. He didn’t want to compare to certain houses, but other than those who were of the highest rank or part Youma, no one appeared to really live there. There didn’t appear to be any training classes or anything.
It just… was. And he was starting to wonder if that was what he wanted to do. Go to a grody old castle, that didn’t even look like it had nice gothic architecture or anything, and maybe get lectured and told to do things a bit and then get bumped back out onto Earth.
Was there anything he could really do in the Negaverse that could make a difference? Other thank showing newbies the ropes, there didn’t really feel like there was an overall purpose. As though everyone’s jobs needed to be outside of it, rather than in.
He sighed. He was getting tired of thinking about all of this stuff, and he decided that he wanted to go and sleep instead.
