The Wishing Tree (2) : Your wish is only said to come true if you grant the wish of someone else; when you write your wish, you must also take one off of the tree and do your best to grant it. What wish do you pull off, and how do you intend to ‘grant’ it? Do you work with someone else to grant this wish, or do you work alone? You may get approval from another player to use the wish their character hung up, but no names are attached so your character may not ever know who wrote it!
Now came for the second part, the part he wasn’t looking forward to as much. It was just superstition, but with all of the real magic going on, Jacques couldn’t take the chance of not doing it if he wanted his own wish to come true. Not that anyone would be able to fulfill his wish, but he would have to try and fulfill someone else’s. Not fun. And could be particularly annoying depending on the type of wish that was made.
So he went back to the tree and picked one of the pieces of paper that was currently hanging off of it and unraveled it to see what it said.
I wish more people would smile a bit more so the city didn’t look so gloomy.
Jacques grimaced as he read it. While he could fulfill the wish and smile a bit more at others, it sounded so… demeaning. Like the only way that the city could be happier is if people had fake smiles plastered onto their face instead of real ones. After all, not everyone could smile just because and there was plenty to be sad about in Destiny City as well. Even if he didn’t consider the Order Senshi and their Knights to be terrorists, most other people did. That would give anyone anxiety living there. Wondering if they would be under attack or where they worked from a Senshi or, more likely, the Negaverse.
Even he had heard of what had happened at the Farnsworth building and he hadn’t even been there!
He sighed and stuffed the wish into his pocket. The next time he saw someone he would try to give them a genuine smile. After all, if he ever wanted to cheer himself up, he could just think of himself. He was the best after all, and anyone would feel happier after he had smiled at them!
Or course that didn’t mean that everything would be hunky-dory. Even he knew that he didn’t feel that great inside. His feelings about staying in the Negaverse had been conflicting. He wouldn’t exactly go out and purify. That sounded too hard, and he needed a real reason for trying it that wasn’t just “I’m not happy”. He may not have all of the loyalty to the Negaverse that they wanted, but he would be staying put for now. He had no other reason not to, unless he wanted to get rid of the ridiculous hair that came along with powering up.
And what then if he became Order? Would that be a better goal that the Negaverse? What was the Negaverse supposed to do after they had “won”? At least on the Order side of things it appeared that it would be taking forever to finally get even an advantage in the war. At least they had a goal in mind, even if there was only a slim chance that they would actually be able to make it happen. At least it was something. Could he really say there was any reason for him to stay in the Negaverse at this time?
