Wanted Wisps (11) : Small, wispy orbs are floating through the city. They can be found during the day but are far more visible at night. They seem to bob along a few feet off the ground and sometimes flicker in and out of sight. They are warm to the touch and seem to be somewhat magical in nature. Anyone can gather them in their hands; they do not quite feel solid but cannot slip through fingers or escape any container. If you find one of these, you must return it to the merchant. If you do not roleplay with him, it will be assumed that you returned the piece to him anyway; there is no way to keep these. Please see this post for information on turning in the Wisp and claiming your prize.

Kerberos had seen a lot of strange things in his time as a Senshi, but this odd little ball of light was new.

It seemed harmless, and he was willing to believe that; it just bobbed in the air, swirling and rolling, a little glimmer in the darkness. It reminded him that he'd seen that sign, in the area where he thought the meteor impact had hit; a little poster saying that whoever was there wanted these wisps recovered, and would pay for them. Not that Kerberos cared about the compensation, but the idea of meeting someone like that was alluring--someone who knew about an odd phenomenon before the other Senshi and Knights of Destiny City, and who might be willing to trade a chat for a little wispy friend.

He wished he had a jar of some kind on him, something to store it in; his hands would have to do, though, and he would have to race straight from here to the park, lest it slip away. There was no point in catching it if he lost it again, after all. Hopefully it wouldn't be too slippery.

Maybe if he'd thought ahead more, he could have brought something to carry it in, but ah well. Too late for that, and thinking ahead had never been his strong suit anyway. He was very much a charge-ahead sort of person, and this was no different.

This entire Star Festival had been odd, but then, there was no holiday in Destiny City that wasn't. Magical cookies, strange reports out of the lake, and all sorts of other shenanigans, and that was something that Kerberos had to admit, he sort of looked forward to. Sure, there was usually something messy at the end, but the result was people coming together to fight it, and that was good for everyone. It was nice to be reminded that not everything had to be doom and gloom and hopeless battles. Sometimes, being a magical warrior was chasing a wisp in the park late at night, and that was all it had to be.

It was with a wry smile that he circled the little wisp, waiting for the right moment, and--

He snapped his hands out, catching it and pulling it over.

"Hello there," he said, voice gentle. It was warm, and firmly magical; Kerberos had no doubt that this was not something native to Destiny City, or even to the Rift or (though his knowledge was less firsthand) probably not Mirrorspace either. Still, as alien visitors went, a warm little wisp that had done nothing but bob about in the warm summer night wasn't exactly sometrhing to be afraid of.

It was nice, to not have to worry that he would be in danger from dealing with this, and he suspected that whoever was collecting them wouldn't be dangerous either. Just someone looking to recover some lost oddities, and that would be plenty.

Wisp in his arms, he turned, and headed back towards the strange barrier. At least that would be one question answered, and perhaps there would be more.
