 Althae, the up and coming youngest sister of the city's founders, had been settling quite nicely into the next chapter of her life as an linguistics exchange student in Sparks Hollow. She'd yet to start classes, but she was pretty excited about it. It was a bit weird that nobody else there was like her, but the same was largely true of her hometown. She was used to it at least.
That said, she'd hardly gotten settled when she'd received word that her family had grown... by quite a lot, and quite unexpectedly at that. Sure, she'd figured that her older sister Purr was expecting (it had been pretty obvious), but Tanz too? AND the kid was apparently of faun decent too? Now THAT had been surprising! It'd only been one kid - as opposed to Purr's 3 - but still! Althae'd been about bursting in her scales, excited to meet her new nieces and nephew at the first opportunity she had to return home.
And today was that day.
It seemed Tanz was busy with guard duty today and unable to join in watching the kiddos, so it was just going to be her and Purr watching the corral of tots. She was bringing in a pair of cups of sweetened coffee (a habit she'd picked up since moving to the land of coffee bean production) for the "adults" in the room and, as she handed one to her big sis, she grinned. "So, how've you been recently? Mom (Laz) told me you decided to take on creating and running a daycare in the village." Course, for the moment, it was mostly just relatives using it. One of the four tots playing right now stood out from the rest, what with her purple eyes and tuffs of orange, pointed ears and tail, round irises, and decidedly rougher-looking fur. There was no mistaking her as Tanz's daughter - her mother's genes clearly the dominant ones to show, at least at this young age. She'd spent probably about as much time with her mother as away from her so far, owing to the responsibilities of a guard. But she didn't really seem to care.
After all, playing with her cousins (who might as well have actually been her siblings) was so much more fun! And sometimes others came to play too, bringing toys and snacks and MORE TOYS and MORE SNACKS.
At the moment, she was currently putting something that undoubtedly shouldn't go in her mouth into it while she stared at Amethyst, the only other one with a horn like hers.

Pur had been a little (a lot) relived when her kids with Night Terror ended up being normal for a demon-rak-fauny-whatever mix instead of a tiny little bug. She loved the strange bug kids that had been left with her and NT but she had been secretly worried that Eris had cursed her to only have tiny baby bugs.While her sister Tanz had been on guard duty she had been taking care of Fluorite then the triplets and when Tanz had a kid shortly after she figured Why not just take over the day care. She was basically watching the kids all the time anyways. She found it a lot of fun to take care of little ones and as the town grew there would be more than just their family who needed their kids looked after. "I've been well, the kids can be a real handful sometimes but I think i got the hang of it." She smiled at her little sister. Even if Althae was adopted and naga she still loved her little sister to bits."Sorry bout that." She said as she returned to Althae's side. "So How is Sparks Hollow? I hope you have been having a good time."
Amethyst had wandered away from his siblings and over to Iolite who looked like they had something neat! Sadly momma came and took the cool thing away. He frowned but still toddled over to poke her horn. She was the only one who had one like him. His siblings didn't only he and cousin Iolite had horns.

"Probably helps that these guys are bigger than Fluorite was, huh?" Althae commented back as she sniffed her own coffee and took a sip. "Still though, how totally crazy is it that Tanz was pregnant too? Your (y'all's) kids are practically siblings like that!" It'd been much the same as her and her nephews, which reminded her, "You think NT..." she thought Night Terror was quite a silly name, thus the nickname, "...and Saros are going to move here at some point?" She hoped they would - they were family after all!
She made a dismissive flick of her wrist as Purr broke off to attend to the kids, "No worries - you are working after all." The next questions brought a huge smile to her face, "It's so cool there! There's so many fae, and they live in trees. TREES! It's like being in a real fantasy land like in some of the books at the library~ You (y'all) should totes come visit sometime when the kids are old enough." Iolyte's eyes widened and started watering up as Auntie took away her not-really-a-toy that she had been playing with. She looked over at Amethyst and sniffed loudly once as she acknowledged him.

Pur laughed at Althae's comment "yes much easier to find then he was that's for sure.""That was super crazy, didn't expect Tanz to have a kid at all!" She shook her head it was one hell of a surprise when Iolyte was born.
"I hope so I would love to have Night Terror so close by." She wanted to see him more often but with him living else where and her having little time to leave the village because of her job they didn't get to see each other often.
"Oh that sounds so exciting! I think I will have to go visit it when the kids are older. I'm glad you are having fun there." Pur smiled at her little sister Amethyst sadly patted Iolyte's arm as she sniffed. Why did mommy have to take the neat thing away?

"RIIII-III-IIIGHT? It was like, you had your triplets and all was like peachy good, and then BAM! Tanz was DYING... except she wasn't it was just a baby! I didn't even KNOW that single children were, like, even a THING anymore." From what she'd read, having just one child had once been the expectation long ago, but it had become significantly rarer than twins or triplets these days. "That had been one crazy letter!"
Honestly, being around so many cute babies was making her scales itch - she couldn't wait to reach adulthood and be able to start a family of her own! And based on her family's history... Yeah... She might just have to go to the next Venus Day celebrations herself to get that done...
Back to reality - "For sure! You need to get on that and get his tush over here. How else are the triplets gonna ever get to really know their dad? Like Iolyte's one thing since I think Tanz said she thought her dad was a proper faun, so, like, OF COURSE she's never gonna meet him unless she tries to go to their tree one day. And that's just, like... YUCK. But NT doesn't live there, so he can totally just move here instead. Just convince him or something already"
She grinned at the next bit and nodded emphatically. "Yas, 100% you should. I bet the kids would have a lot of fun there too." Iolyte sniffed once more after her reassuring pat before looking over at the other two and then looking around for a new toy to play with. "Toy? Toy... TOY!"

"Yeah I was very surprised by that."Pur had no idea how Tanz didn't know she was pregnant. Maybe only one baby is why? Or her sister is just a dumb ass. She laughed as Althae pushed her to get Night Terror to move into the town."I'm trying I'm trying! I'd love to see him and Jet more often." She had grown to love both her tiny bug kids. It was so surprising when she ran into NT again and he had a bug-kid as well. She hadn't been sure how to bring it up but it was much easier when she saw he had a weird baby too. Even if she couldn't convince him to leave his family or move them to the city hopefully she could get him to come and stay a few months every now and then.Amethyst looked around with determined eyes he would find the best toy! Spotting something neat he crawled over to it and brought it back to Iolyte. "Toy!"

It was very possible that the lack of noticing Tanz's pregnancy had been due to equal parts denial and dumbassery. But, at the same time, nobody else had noticed, so perhaps she was not the only one to blame.
Either way, the little one came out well enough.
The naga made a playful show of lifting and flexing her arms to show off her 'muscles' which were, in fact, significantly smaller than would typically be seen with others of her kind. Well... other 'wilds' of her kind. The only things she liked to carry were pretty jewelry, books, and, more recently, BABIES. Oh, maybe she should pop by the orphanage while she was in town and see if that cute hunk-of-snake had decided where he was gonna go to apprentice. But that was for later if she remembered.
"I'll come with you! Show him who's boss. You can take one arm, I'll take the other, and we'll drag him on over." A+ perfect plan. "If Saros doesn't want to come, we can just get a birdcage or something and throw him in with the cargo. Too easy." It was obvious that Althae wasn't thinking too hard about the kidnapping implications she was making via her grand plan. Upon being presented with the new something-or-other, Iolyte smiled and happily took it from her older cousin. "Toy!" She was grinning as she made a show of waving it around and showing off how cool this new toy was.

Pur laughed as her sister said she'd help drag Night Terror home."Great! We shall whisk him away to the comfort of my house!" She did however give her little sister a LOOK when it was suggested they put Jet in a bird cage. No children in cages!!! But her sister was clearly joking. It wasn't a good idea to kidnap your boyfriend and kid. Especially if he had work.
Chances are that if it did happen NT would only be whisked away for a weekend but hey any getaway could be a romantic one no mater how short right?Checking on the children she was glad to see that the new toy acquired was actually a toy this time. Amethyst sat down next to Iolyte pleased that he had found a toy that his cousin liked.

Althae nodded once, all but confident that her plan would work wonders. Hell, once NT got a load of just how absolutely amazing Zamarad was, he wouldn't ever want to leave. The only place that could possibly be better was the City, which neither of them could ever visit anyways, so this was the best. And she pointedly ignored 'the look' about children in cages.
"Just give me enough notice to snea-- I mean pause my studies and get here in time. I'll do it! You know I will!" Family was most important after all.
She followed Pur's gaze to the tots that were being only slightly rambunctious as before, her arrogant facade returning back to her normal amount. "Do you, like, need me to go or something anytime soon? I'll be back at home for a while, so we can hang when you're done working if you want." She grinned, her eyes practically sparkling. "Heck, I can make dinner tonight even! Look forward to it!"
Chances were that the thought of her little scaly sister cooking would bring with it more anxiety than delight.Plopping her lil' toosh next to her as of this moment most favorite cousin, Iolyte proceeded to put the toy into her mouth without an iota of hesitation or shame.

Puz shook her head fondly at Althae's antics. She wondered what kind of trouble her little sister would get up to in Sparks Hollow. All kinds probably."Sorry but yeah the kids seem like they are going to get antsy soon which means i'll have to keep a super close eye on them." Pur smiled apologetically to her little sister she didn't want to kick the other out but she was working. Also Topaz and Lily had been unusually quite for the moment which meant they where probably plotting some kind of small child shenanigans. Or eating something when she wasn't looking. "I'll look forward to seeing you tonight then!"She was not looking forward to the dinner if Althae was in-charge but Althae seemed so enthused about the idea Pur couldn't bring herself to say anything about it.Amethyst grabbed a piece of chalk he had hidden who knows where and proceeded to start drawing all over the floor.

Yeah, from glancing over, even Althae could tell that the kids seemed to be getting a bit restless. She offered a silent round of good vibes for her sister before waving off the apology. "No worries! I'll just see ya later tonight then. You BETTER not be late or I'll be mad as HECK. Okay?"
At this, she switched to a wave goodbye and let herself on out. She'd have to stop by the market to see what MEAT she could find to cook for dinner tonight - it was gonna be a carnivore's feast! Iolyte seemed delighted as she continued to chew on the toy, a small amount of drool starting to drip down to her chin, and watch her older cousin start making a colorful mess.
