Starlight Cookies and Moonlight Milk (4) : A new shop has opened up, just in time for the Star Festival! It doesn’t have anything on the menu except for Starlight Cookies and Moonlight Milk, but they are the talk of the town! Everyone who’s anyone has tried them, and without a doubt, they’re the most delicious things that they’ve ever tasted! Though...the reviews don’t mention that after you've had any, your eyes begin to glow strangely and sparkle like little galaxies are swirling within them. It’s beautiful, if a little strange! The effect fades after an hour, and your vision isn’t impacted...though, if you go to try the cookies again, the shop seems to have disappeared…

Nelson wanted to find a new place to take Xander on a date. His crazy boyfriend deserved something wonderful, and Nelson wanted to find that wonderful place. Xander deserved it. Obviously.

He had read some online reviews about a new cafe that had opened up recently that was said to have the very best cookies and milk ever, and today seemed as good of a time as any to try it out...for research. If it really was as good as the reviews said then he would bring Xander back here and it would be wonderful. He hoped.

Nervously, the male entered the cafe and stammered that he would like some cookies and milk to go, and was pleased when the smiling lady didn’t seem unhappy with the fact he wasn’t sticking around to eat it...alone. He could handle this. The next time he came in he wouldn’t be alone. And Xander would smile and be so excited to have something so simple...ah...maybe he wouldn’t want to come here, actually...maybe it wouldn’t be exciting enough for a date..and really, that was fair. After all...he could do the same by just baking some cookies and getting some good milk from...well.

From somewhere.

Hurrying home, Nelson waited until he was safely shut in his bedroom before he took a look at his goods, smiling slightly at the Crimson Star Charm that hung from his cup...that was terribly cute, and what a great way to advertise the Star Festival...Well. That made his opinion go up just a bit.

He took a sip of the milk first and blinked, nodding to himself and taking another sip. Huh. It tasted almost like...whipped cream, only liquid. Sweetened heavy whipping cream maybe? But...that didn’t make much sense.

It was delicious though. And the cookies. They were fat and filled with chocolate chips...and somehow they were still warm, as though they had just left the oven and...oh. Oh yeah, Xander would love this. He was sure. This would be an amazing place to go for a date...simple and delicious...and maybe they could take a walk around the festival afterwards…

Nelson wore a small smile as he imagined it and began to write his own review about the cafe, giving his glowing kudos as he finished off his milk, though...when he glanced into the mirror...it seemed that his kudos weren’t the only things that were glowing.

His eyes...normally a soft, gentle brown were...glowing and almost twinkling...ah...this wasn’t normal. This...wasn’t even remotely like anything that was normal. He blinked a few times, hoping that it would just...just go away but...no. The glow continued. Nelson gave a thoughtful, concerned hum and sent the review without really thinking about it and then moved to the mirror, poking the area around his eyes, wondering if maybe there was...glitter that was reflecting? That...this was some trick of the light?

He swallowed hard and moved to the bathroom, thinking that perhaps it was something with his mirror but...no. No they were still sparkling and glowing and...Nelson was growing a little concerned. He glanced at the clock on the wall and saw with relief that Q would be home within the hour...she would know what to do. If this was some medical issue...she could fix it, he was sure.

Nelson wrung his hands together and moved back to his room, finishing off the last of the cookie and going to read over his review once again, just to make sure it looked good while live but…

The webpage had an error, and no matter what the male did, he couldn’t get it to come back up again. That was strange but...oh well.

He would definitely take Xander there and he’d find the reviews again...when his brian wasn’t so frazzled by his glowing eyes...until Q came home...perhaps he would just take a nap. That did sound quite lovely.

Settling down on his bed, Nelson held his star charm close and wore a small smile as he drifted to sleep.

Yes. Xander would like that place...he was sure of it.
