Quote: The Calling (7) : A beautiful melody drift on the air from somewhere far away. The vocals are in a language you don’t quite recognize, but feel somehow familiar to you. Something about the song calls to you, but no matter where you go, the song seems to sound the same distance away. The longer it goes on, the more emotional the song becomes--and the more emotional you become. Something about the song is possessive and consuming, like it’s all you can think of. Something resonates in you as the song crescendos, and the feeling is at its strongest--be they good, bad, anything, but suddenly the song fades, and there’s only an emptiness inside of you. The feeling of loss is strong, and can leave someone feeling emotionally numb. Someone out there was calling to you, and you couldn’t find them. So. He was really gone. He was really... really gone. Her father confirmed it, finally dropped the lie that he was still alive, just away. Just not coming home. Just didn't want to see his family, see her. No he was really, really gone. Merric was never coming back.
To say she hadn't taken it well was, well, an understatement. In true Jen fashion, she'd trashed her room, his old room, and stormed out without so much as an indication of where she was going, or when she'd be home. She'd powered up about a block away from her house, needing the extra speed, extra strength to run.
And run she did.
All the way to the beach, where she now perched on a rocky outcropping, knees hugged to her chest and eyes rimmed with red. She'd stopped crying some time ago, but she still sniffled and flinched at every flicker of auras around her.
"Screw y-you Merric... leaving me all alone... SCREW YOU!!!" she screamed, voice cracking and going hoarse. She was in no real shape to fight, but heaven's forbid someone came up on her with murderous intent. She'd hurt them. She'd hurt them so much, just like she wanted to hurt her brother. Hurt him for leaving her, hurt him for abandoning her, hurt him for not taking her with him.
Faintly, singing curled around the rocks and surf, too soft for Iduna to make out yet. But like the darkness curling in her heart, perhaps it would grow louder...Orangeish Sherbert YOU SAID EVERYTHING so uh feel free to fling anyone at this rather... vunerable soul 8D

Lazurite still wasn’t...completely up to speed with being a corrupted senshi. She just wasn’t good at it and didn’t have much direction or drive to do anything...but there was a strange sound on the wind tonight...and something just told her that it would be easier to find...easier to hear if she were powered...which…
Sounded very silly now that it was formed into words.
Still. She made her way towards the reservoir, and paused as she felt another aura nearby and...ah. Yes perhaps being powered was a good thing...oh...but she was powered and alone and…
And whoever it was that was nearby was stronger than her but.
The sound of the shouted words made Lazurite wince and wrinkle her nose but…
They sounded so upset. She walked a little closer and saw a senshi...not one of her own kind, as this one was wearing white but...with such pretty, soft looking blue hair.
“Ah...Excuse me...are you okay?” The words were out of her mouth before she really thought them through...perhaps she should have told her General that she was powering up...perhaps she should have brought backup or something but…
Hopefully the sad, pretty senshi wouldn’t....add scary to her list of adjectives.

Iduna froze, shoulders tensing at the flare of Chaos and voice behind her. The question caught her off guard though, so she whirled around but sort of half way, and tripped over herself in doing so. Her elbow cracked against the rock, a shock of pain shooting up and down her arm. For a long moment she was very aware of the pins and plates in her forearm - where she'd broken it fighting a giant youma years ago - and then the pain faded and she was left starting at a senshi.
Well, sort of a senshi. A senshi that felt more of chaos than anything else, with a crack in her forehead.
She wasn't attacking Iduna, nor did she look rather threatening to be honest. Perhaps she wasn't... bad? Well she was bad in that she seemed to run on Chaos, but maybe not bad in terms of like... her personness. Plus, it sounded like she was just asking if she was okay.
At least she wasn't alone.
"I... not really, I guess..." she said, glancing to the side away from Lazurite. Very faint singing curled in her ears, probably from the festivities. "If you're gunna try to hurt me, I can't promise what I'll do. I'm not... in a great place right now.." Iduna tapped her head, to indicate that she wasn't in 'a great place' in her head.

“I don’t want to hurt anyone. Especially not someone who’s not feeling well.” Lazurite hesitated and shuffled her feet slightly before drawing in a breath and climbing up onto the rock to join the senshi, giving a tentative smile. “If you’re not okay, then I can stay with you until you’re feeling a little more okay. You shouldn't have to be alone when you’re not in a good place...and especially not when you’re on a rock at the beach...that’s just asking for trouble.”
At least it wasn’t a bridge or something...and even if she wasn’t okay mentally...well...she didn’t look like she was in…danger not okay.
“...Do...Do you want to talk about it? My name’s Lazurite, by the way. And I think your hair is really pretty.” Because compliments made everyone feel a little better, didn’t they? They always made her feel better. “I have a brush with me...it um. Helps with my crazy hair...if you want, I could brush yours? My mom would do that for me on bad days when I was younger. It always felt so nice.”

Iduna blinked and watched her climb up on the rock next to her. She definitely felt of the crawl of Chaos off of her, and the wrongness but she didn't seem... bad. Not really. Just. Different.
"I thought all of the Negaverse wanted to hurt people. That's what I've always been told, anyway. That you all are just sort of.. scum and evil. But you're... a senshi, like me. Well not quite like me I guess. I'm sort of..." Did she always talk this much? She didn't think so, but Lazurite just seemed so nice and just willing to help, and honestly she probably really needed someone to talk to since...
"I am a very old chibi super senshi..." she admitted, pulling at her skirts and curling a finger around her hair. Iduna blushed a little at the complement. "I.... yeah that would be really nice, if you'd brush it? It's probably stupidly tangled anyway 'cause I ran here and... yeah" Iduna situated herself a little better for her to brush it.
"My... my brother disappeared about four years ago... and my daddy had been keeping up the ruse that he was just out of state, or busy... but he never came home and... and he's really dead. Like I always suspected but... its... true..." Her eyes burned and she sniffled as tears rolled down her cheeks once again.

Pulling the brush out of her subspace pocket, Lazurite turned slightly so that she would have better access to the thick, blue locks. “I’m a senshi, yeah! The corrupted senshi of nectar! My name is Lazurite, and it’s really nice to meet you.” With gentle fingers, she separated a section of hair and began to gently work on getting out some of the tangles.
“I’m sorry about your brother...that must be a horrible burden to have to deal with...do you want to talk about him? I mean, obviously I don’t know him...but if it’s been that long...you might be upset because your memory’s fading a little? It can help to talk about him, to keep him vivid. Even if he’s gone...he’s alive in your heart, you know! And he’ll be alive in mine too!”
When the first section was clear of knots, she ran the brush through, staring at the scalp and pulling downwards before moving to the second. “He was lucky to have a sister who loved him so much. Because obviously you did. Or you wouldn’t be so unhappy...and...I don’t want to hurt anyone, I promise!”

The hair brushing was nice. Iduna let out a soft sigh and stress visibly rolled off of her in shivers down her shoulders. "He was tall... hair and eyes like me. Sort of melancholy at times. Could play base and sing, sorta. Distant too, though. Something happened in high school and he sort of just... disappeared," Iduna further relaxed, letting go of her knees and letting her very long legs stretch out in front of her.
She giggled at Lazurite's words, feeling a smile on her face. She was so kind, even if she felt wrong. Maybe they weren't that bad, after all.
A thought accured to her, thinking about her brother.
"I think he was messed up in something bad though... I saw him staring at this elogated diamond object one night and he seemed really scared about it," she said, unsure why she'd just remembered seeing that. It had confused her enough she ignored, she guessed.

Lazurite found herself smiling at the sound of Iduna’s giggle. Well, good. She had managed to help the other senshi feel a little better...maybe. “Like...a starseed?” The words slipped out before she could think about it, and she paused. “...Do you think he was part of the war? On my side maybe? I mean, he could have been killed by a senshi or a knight or something…”
She hesitated and ran her fingers through some of the smooth strands of hair. “...I know that they’re not all as nice as you are. I’m...kind of terrified of the idea of them, if we’re going to be honest...That’s neat that he could sing and play the bass! I’m learning the flute, and I really enjoy it so far….my fingers get all confused though...but. I’m learning.”
The poor girl...obviously she cared about her brother…
“I really am sorry about your loss…”

Iduna thought about it for a moment. That would... explain a lot, if her brother had been part of the war. Always being gone, always tired. "Maybe... I dunno why a senshi or knight would kill him though. But..." she worried her lip for a moment, turning slightly to look at Lazurite. "I guess if not all of the Negaverse are evil, then not all of Order are good." She shrugged a little.
"Thank you he was... really special to me," replied Iduna, managing a smile this time that met her eyes. She giggled a little at Lazurite's finger confusion over the flute.
"That's better than me! Merric once tried to teach me bass and I broke one of the strings, hehe," she said, turning back to the front to let Lazurite finish brushing her hair. She really was terrible at any sort of musical instrument.
A thought popped into her head after a moment. "Lazurite... why do you have a mineral name instead of a planetary body?"

“There’s no good or evil, not really. There’s just choices that people make. I’m not evil, I just wear black and have what I fight for. I’m fighting for the earth, you know. Fighting so it stays safe. You really broke one of the strings? That’s like..” Lazurite laughed at the thought, wrinkling her nose slightly. “You must have been terribly surprised. That takes talent Iduna!”
...Bad talent but still! Talent.
“Maybe if you wanted to meet up again, I could bring my flute and practice playing it with you here? If you’d like? I’m still terrible but...it would be nice to have honest feedback, and I know if I’m playing for such a pretty person, I’ll be doing my best...also...my name? Uh...this is what my General called me! Should I be named for a planetary body?”
The corrupt looked curious at that, and a little excited. “...How would I find that out, do you think?”

Iduna giggled a little and nodded. "I was so shocked! I didn't know it could happen like that!" She turned to look at Lazurite and nodded. "That would be--- pr-pretty?? I---" Her face flushed red at the compliment and she sort of shrank behind her hair a bit in embarrassment. No one really called her pretty, mostly because her height and gangly limbs sort of offset it in her opinion. Honestly, she usually just felt... plain most times.
It was... nice to have someone tell her otherwise.
"Well when I awoke, the cat who woke me told me my name! She did it when she gave me my henshin pen and phone. So if you have guardian cats on the Chaos side, they should be able to tell you your homeworld name," she replied, tapping a finger to her lips as she thought about it. It was possible Lazurite's type of senshi woke differently from those of the White Moon, but they didn't really... seem that different to be honest. Just wore black.
Lazurite was right, it was all about choices and not so black and white.

“The corrupt blinked in confusion at Iduna’s reaction and then gave a little snort. “...You are pretty. Your hair is like thread made of crushed sapphires. It’s lovely and it’s so soft...so.” Lazurite shrugged. “With that kind of reaction I see I’m going to have to tell you often so you start to believe me!”
The idea of finding a cat...finding what her homeworld name...did she have a homeworld? Maybe Jet would have the answers. He knew a lot, after all.
“I’ll see if I can find someone who can tell me! I hope whatever the name is turns out to be something pretty! That would be splendid. Hey...Iduna...are you feeling any better? I know that we’re not like…friends friends yet but...I was worried about you, you seemed so sad, and it’s nice to see you laughing! And I hope it means you’re feeling better.”
Lazurite tucked a strand of hair behind Iduna’s ear and smiled, putting her brush away. “That was the goal anyway!”

Oh gods the compliments just kept coming and Iduna was sure her face was going to melt off do to embarrassment. "Lazuuuuuu" she whined, trying to hide again, but the corrupt just was not having it. Iduna giggled a little, cheeks still very red, but it was... nice. Really nice.
Did she feel better? She thought about it. Yeah, yeah she did. "Yes, I do feel better, Lazurite. I feel a whole lot better now, thank you!" she said with a wide smile. She didn't feel sad or angry anymore, and that sound seemed to have stopped - or at least she didn't hear it anymore - and she felt... happy. It was nice to have someone powered to talk to!
"I would really like to do this again? Maybe we can do friendly fighting? I'd love to see what your magic is sometime! Mine isn't very impressive... yet, but I'll get there! And maybe we can patrol together or hunt youma... though youma are on your side so that's probably out but... Wow, anyway, yes I think you're pretty nice, and pretty too!" she said, the young woman now rather flustered but content to see Lazurite again.
Careful, Iduna, that's the poisoned apple you're dancing with...

Lazurite felt her chest grow warm as the senshi smiled, and really did look better. “I would love to hang out with you again, and we can test our magic! Tell me the date, my little apple and I’ll be there with bells on!” She looked thoughtful, running her fingers through the girl's jewel-like hair once again. “How about we meet here? I don’t know when...but I’ll show up on Friday and Saturday, and when you’re ready, we’ll meet again!”
That seemed like the very best choice, it was safe and...let Iduna pick when she was ready.
...Surely this was allowed, right? If she was hoping to draw her new friend to the right side of things...to plant doubts to...just win her over...this had to be allowed.
...She’d ask Jet just to make sure but…
“I’ll stay here from seven to eight! That’s a whole hour, does it sound good to you?”

She leaned into the fingers in her hair, liking it more than she really should. It really was nice to have Lazurite card through her hair like that... Her little apple? Iduna's face flushed again and she giggled a little at the pet name. Okay that was... different. Maybe she... she'd deal with that revelation later. Not here. Yeah.
"That sounds wonderful Lazurite! I'll come by when I'm ready. Hopefully next time, I'll be a full fledged senshi!" she said with a grin, giving Lazurite a hug. She stood and stretched, dusting off her skirts.
"Till we meet again!" Iduna waved at her, bounding off the rocks to head home.
Time to figure out how to become a full senshi.
