Quote: In your mailbox, locker, or desk drawer appears a bag of star candy! There is no indication of where or who it came from other than a small tag that reads: “Happy Star Festival!” The small, colorful pieces of sugar seemed to almost glow faintly, and after eating them, the world looks a bit different. Cartoonish and much less…real. Is it a hallucination? Is it some new reality? The strange vision lasts only half an hour, and after it wears off, the rest of the candy seems to disappear. How strange! The bag of candy had shown up in her dresser drawer, and for the first few minutes, Kat stared at it, utterly confused and a little wary of where it might have come from. Had she bought candy and forgotten? She...she didn’t even like candy. Though...this was pretty. Like a bag of tiny, rainbow colored...planets. Or stars.
It made her smile when she got past the initial shock.
There was no note on the bag anywhere, nothing but something about a happy star festival...but...that made less than no sense to her so...well.
Quietly she thought of who could have given her the candy, and her mind landed on the person she hoped it was from. She missed Laven very much...and if Laven had gotten Wolf to teleport her here...they could have easily hidden the candy while she was out. Or sleeping. Or showering.
...Though why they hadn’t said hello puzzled her but...that was all right. She wasn’t angry at all...and she hadn’t eaten starseeds since...since everything.
...She hadn’t powered up either but...that was neither here nor there.
Ekaterina did power up now though, and quickly teleported down to Negaspace, stopping outside the door to Laven’s room and knocking. “I got the gift.” Her voice was soft, but so hopeful. “I want to come in.”

Standing in front of her dresser in nothing but her birthday suit, Lavendulan all but leaped for the towel that had been strewn upon the bed upon realizing that the signature she had felt appearing inside her home did not belong to Wolframite. “I’M NOT DECENT!” she shouted in a panic while haphazardly wrapping the soft, yet still damp, swath of cloth around her torso. Holy hell... Embarrassed by the awkwardness of the situation, she pressed her palm against her chest and drew in a deep breath to calm her racing heart. Of all the people who could have suddenly appeared, Tinaksite was somewhere near the middle or bottom of the shortlist she would have expected to come to visit unannounced. Then again, the ginger-haired captain was still friends with Wolframite which meant she was welcome to stop by despite the fact that she had neither seen nor spoken to Tinaksite since he got shot last year. Talk about feeling vulnerable and exposed, whatever, they were both girls. Laven crossed the room in a few steps and opened the door. "Hello Tina. Wolframite's not here right now, is there something you need me to tell him?"

Tinaksite paused and her brow furrowed as she tried to fully process both the panicked reaction and the sudden...coolness to which Laven was giving her. Obviously...her friend had send her candy...why would she be here for Wolf? That was...that was a very silly thing to think but…
The captain hesitated and held up the bag of sugar stars by the neck, shaking it and mildly enjoying how nice it sounded for the little orbs to clack together. Like a baby’s rattle or something similar. “...You sent this? I thought.”
Her brows furrowed a little more and she shook the bag again, trying to get her thoughts out of her head. “I thought...from you. They were in my drawer. You. You and Wolf know where I live. I thought he brought you to my house. To give me this. I wanted…”
To thank her? To kiss her? To make everything better? To ask what she wanted in return?
“...I wanted.”
She wanted so terribly much.

Lavendulan's features softened and rather than asking Tinaksite to wait while she got some actual clothes on, she opened the door and let the Captian in. However, instead of standing there in nothing but a towel, she did power up into her uniform as opposed to fussing around in the closet for something comfortable to wear around the house. For as much as she wanted to smile as she motioned for Tina to come sit down, it was difficult; especially as she watched the Captians' expression shift from excited to uncertain to worried or concerned. The inner turmoile was real for both of them but at least it was a bit easier for Laven to rein them in. "I remember seeing those candies at the Star Festival. I thought about buying some but then it started raining and I had to leave." Her lips pulled tight into a rueful smile. "I was alone at the festival, so I'm not sure if Wolframite went on his own an got them for you. Seems strange that he didn't give them to you directly." She never knew him to be sly or sneaky like that. "Have you eaten any yet?" She asked in an attempt to divert the conversation to something a little less awkward. "They looked tasty," Laven added.

Tinaksite shook her head though opened the bag and held it out to the other Captain.
When had she become a Captain too? The thought made Tina feel rather sad and she shrugged. “I...found them in my dresser drawer. I do not know how they got there. I thought...It was you. Hoped it was you. I have not eaten any. I wanted to thank you. But...I see now I am just intruding. Perhaps they were put in my dresser by mistake. You may have them if you would like.”
Now that she knew they weren’t a gift...weren’t anything special...they didn’t seem nearly as cute as before...and they inspired a pit of loneliness in her gut rather than the spark of joy that she had been feeling.
“I did not mean to interrupt...I apologize. I will go now.”
Obviously...she wasn’t expected. Or wanted. Or needed...so. There was no point in staying.

"Tina, wait." She reached out to hold onto Tinaksite's wrist to keep her from teleporting away again. "I wasn't trying to make you feel unwelcome." A part of her felt obligated to address the white elephant suffocating the room and apologize for what happened almost a year ago. However, her youma nature stood firm and refused to admit her feelings were wrong. Instead Lavendulan had to settle on an internal compromise between going with her more natural response to just let it go and move on and pointing the accusatory finger again. "Wolframite is still busy working, I think." Honestly, she really wasn't sure what he was up to recently other than paper, paper, and more paper. "I was going to go back to the Star Festival since I wasn't really able to see much last time. Glamour really limits my ability to do much in a day." She sighed. "It makes me feel like Cinderella every time I go out," Except there was no prince and she was often alone. "If you can give me a few minutes to change into something more appropriate, would you like to go to the Festival with me?"

For a moment, Tinaksite hesitated, and then her lip trembled slightly and she nodded. “Yes...I can wait...I will take us up to the festival...we...I have missed you terribly…” It was only the truth, and it was only by sheer force of will that she didn’t simply burst into tears. That wouldn’t do at all.
“I would like to go with you very much. I would like to have dinner...I…” The captain wrinkled her nose after a moment, an idea beginning to take form in her mind. “I have something I want to find for you. I will need time, but I will have a present for you...eventually. It...will make you smile.” God, she hoped it would make her smile.
Clearing her throat, Tinaksite took a step backwards. “...You...dress. I will...I will wait. Ah...You are a captain now. I am proud of you…”
Even though it meant she really was no longer needed.
She was still happy for her Laven.

A pang of guilt caused her heart to studder when Laven realized that Tinaksite wasn't aware of her promotion. Here she had assumed that Wolframite had told her on one of their patrols; seemed he had left the surprise for her to tell. "Thank you," she replied in a tone that was devoid of any joy or excitement. "It was an experience I'm not sure I want to go through again." Forever a captian didn't sound so bad since she now had the ability to come and go as she pleased. "I can tell you about it later if you wish." "I just need a few minutes to change." She walked with Tina to the living room and made sure she was ok before retreating back into her room and powering down back into the blue cotton plush towel. It took only a moment to pull on a set of undergarments, a pair of capris and a tanktop with lace around the neck line. From her nightstand she grabbed a ponytail and quickly threw her hair up in a messy bun then slid her feet into a pair of flipflops and proceeded out into the room where she had left Tina waiting. "Ok, I'm ready when you are." She paused and thought for a moment. "Wait, let me grab a waterbottle." Quickly she shuffled into the kitchen and grabbed two cold waterbottles from the fridge and shut the door before returning to the living room one last time. "Ok, now I'm ready." She stated after handing one of the drinks to Tina.

Tinaksite took the bottle and mumbled a soft word of thanks before holding out a hand to Marissa. “Um...I am ready too, if you will take my hand I will get us up to the festival.”
And what they would do there was...well. This wasn’t how she had expected this to go if she were being honest. There was no script for this interaction and she felt more than a little lost...but really...
Laven didn’t seem like she hated her any longer so…
So at least that was a good thing. She wouldn’t have to visit the festival alone...that was another good thing.
When she finally took the other woman’s hand in hers, she couldn’t help but give it a gentle squeeze before teleporting them both out and up to the City. There was a festival going on, after all.
