Tanz was staring rather sullenly at the east-facing road leading to, and from, Zamarad as she sighed. Her ear flicked a fly off and her tail lazily hung behind her. Today was another boring day - almost every day since that adventure in the mountains had been. And even that... well... it was fun at the time, but then her sister just ended up pregnant and she was an OMEGA-freaking-pain the entirety of the pregnancy. Not to mention... NOT TO MENTION it was freaking TRIPLETS and Pur had just been SO. ********. ANNOYING. ever since then. Like she was somehow better than her just because she had some kids?

That said, it wasn't like she was the only one anymore...

It wasn't long after her sister's delivery that she'd been hit with the most severe of pain... and had a child of her own. She'd never even realized. Some the telltale signs had been there if she looked back on it - her moods and food wants had been all kinds of over the place, and her feet had been kind of more sore than normal - but it wasn't like she'd gotten ******** FAT like Pur had. Heck, she really hadn't looked any different than normal. But damn... APPARENTLY faun were just particularly potent or something. And the result was that their family had grown by four in a matter of days.

But unlike Pur and the kinda-disgusting, lovey-dovey relationship she had going on with her babydaddy, Tanz's had been a true (very steamy) one-night stand. She couldn't even remember that orange, muscled, hunk-of-a-faun's name (even if she could remember other aspects of him). Honestly, it would have been more convenient if the kid had been Lin's... but nah, the resemblance just wasn't there (no way that demon could make a kid with freaking hooves and a horn).

Btw, the kid was with their cousins elsewhere while she worked.

Good Guardians she was just so boooooooooooooooored. Not just with her job, but here in Zamarad. All the guys here just just SO dull, and most didn't even bother to approach her due to her position as a guard and daughter of the village's heads... and those that did were all WAY too obvious with their true motives. Ugh. Men really sucked sometimes... She really ought to just go back home to the City... But with the brat, now she couldn't until they were grown.

Gross.

In this somewhat-souring mood, the rak continued to internally whine as she did her job.

Tanz's comments towards Pur are only due to their love-hate sistership XD

Heavy but blindingly green hooves clopped against the earth as the both dark and radioactive looking ....faun? crossed distance on his journey to a village going by the name of Zamarand. Breeheart had an outpost there and it was his job today to find out how they were doing. However, he had never previously been to this Zamarand and despite his maps, found himself staring at the buildings looming a head, hoping he had gotten the right place.

He stopped just short of the village entrance when he spotted someone pacing about by the front gates. No doubt a sentry or guard of some sort out on her shift. Though he couldn't help notice she looked rather.... irked.

Stepping closer, he folded his wings against his back as much as he could and cleared his throat. "Excuse me Madam, do I perhaps find myself arriving at Zamarand?" he eyed her, stowing his maps back into his bag. His gaze was seemingly ever half shut but in this moment but clearly held an air of business about him. This wasn't meant to be a pleasure trip. At least, that was the intention.

While the rak had been aware of an approaching individual, even that wasn't immediately worth her interest. "Yes, this is the East Checkpoint - beyond here you'll find the village." She gave him her full attention at that, pausing for just a moment before vocalizing her initial reactions.

"You a faun...? Y'kind of remind me of myyy... sister's kids. They have a fauny as a father. Either way, we don't get a lot of your kind around here - effectively none, actually. How rare..."

Now that she looked him up and down, he was quite attractive, and she was quite bored these days... Her irises contracted for a split second as her tail flicked behind her. Yep, that slight disinterest - perceived or not - was enough to get her wanting more. Blame it on the kid, but her drive had been just driving her crazy recently. And this one... rather than coming in a caravan or with a family, he was just alone. Surely he'd also grown a touch lonely while traveling in such a way.

"So what brings you in ma bichette - business? leisure? traveling through?" She flashed what she'd consider to be quite the seductive sort of smirk. "I'll need to have a look through your wares regardless, but the entrance tax rate changes accordingly. I need to stay properly-fed somehow."

"Of course, proper entry inspection." he noted, not at all having a problem with her need to search his bags. He had nothing to hide, after all, what was there was what she got essentially. Her sudden shift in tone however, caused him little more than a simple brow raise, his half shut gaze remained unchanged.

"Ah, my apologies for arriving unexpected." he said, deciding to ignore the comment about her sister having had kids with a fauny. He wasn't one to judge but the comment struck him as odd nonetheless. "If all goes well, perhaps you will see more of me. Or perhaps not." he simply stated softly as he took his bag and handed it out for her to take.

"I've traveled from Breeheart and I'm here to check up on the outpost staked here. It's time for their report, and, assessment on whether changes are needed or not." he eyed her and her flick of her tail. His own swished in half mimicked response. "I'll be sure to keep in mind your need to be satiated. If you like, you can sample some of what I offer, its no bother to me."

"Well aren't we Mr. Mysterious..." she needled as she took his bag to rummage through. She crouched down to more easily move items around while ensuring that he could see that she wasn't doing any funny business with his wares. "Breeheart, huh? Mmm... That makes sense. That village should be rather close to the Tree after all, both in a literal and relationship stance..." She was somewhat just vocalizing her own internal thoughts at that point, not really saying it for anyone but herself. "That outpost makes some of the best baked goods in the village, and I love the cafe attached. The other week they did a limited collaboration with Sparks Hollow and the result was magnificent. I'm glad I was able to use my connections to get a seat~"

"If anything, I'd imagine they're in need of more wares to sell soon."

His next words - quite flirtingly in her own opinion - drew a playfully devious smile to her lips. Perhaps it was her obviously-feline traits, but one could say it was almost... cattish... for a lack of a better pun.

"Oho~?" She flicked her eyes up once as she about finished looking through his bag. "How coy - and bold - of you to offer." She stood up to return it. "So business, but not with an intent to sell... Hmm... I guess I can treat that the same as leisure. We get enough traveling through seeking certain services, and they carry about the same on them as you. Close enough. It'll be ## coins."

"But more importantly... You intend to satiate me? Do elaborate - I am quite curious what you meant by that."

Attor tipped his head, his shoulders and wings shuffling. "It is not my intention to be mysterious, if you need I can be more open." he added, watching her rummage through his bags before finding nothing of interest. "It seems you are well familiar with Breeheart, I don't need to further explain then." he nodded, taking back his bag and digging thru a smaller pouch for x amount of coins to hand her.

He could only hope the outpost here needed more wares to sell as that would mean business was particularly successful over here and potentially meant the need for branching out further. While he hadn't personally known the actual Breehearts for long, he had come to garner quite the respect for Feralheart and admired his dedication to both his family and the village, as it seemed to please his wife ever so much. "I shall hope for the best of outcomes then, needing more wares would be a promising report to deliver back to the village heads." he simply added as he paused to eye her again.

Her tone shifted once more and he felt like she eyed him differently now, though to say he was slow to pick up the cue was one thing. To say he also wasn't interested in the current moment was another. Business before pleasure after all. "I've brought along a few Danishes and a loaf of bread for the travel. If you so truly desire, you are welcome to help yourself. I can sustain myself for extended periods via numerous experience." he softly grunted. "All I'd require is a drink..."

She collected the tax without issue and place the coins in a locked

The air seemed to hold silent for a second before a small snort-of-a-smirk broke Tanz's façade. She raised her hand to waive off his offer before pausing and seeming to think of an idea. "How's this then? I'll trade ya a drink later tonight for one of those danishes." Her eyes practically glinted. "Deal?"

He eyed her a moment before thoughtfully nodding. "Sounds perfectly acceptable to me." he said before holding out his hand in means to seal the deal. Once they had done so he brought a hand to his mouth and cleared his throat again.

"Do you mind if I enter now to conduct my inspection? I also suppose I should inquire about lodging if we are going to conduct this deal. I will need my rest before setting back out." he said matter of factly, glancing briefly at his coin purse. If he'd need to pay for a place to sleep that would be no issue.

Tanz gladly accepted the handshake with a grip that may have seemed a bit uncharacteristically soft for a guardswoman, but still firm nonetheless.

She took a step back and gave a little flourish to 'invite' him in, "Yes, you're free to go." She grinned. "And yes, I'd imagine you probably should... The outpost probably has quarters upstairs for those affiliated with your village, but a bakery would be waking up pretty early... and we might be out rather late. Drinking does have that effect." Plus, she had a mind that it wasn't going to end with just that. "There should be some decent places near the bar district, and they're usually cheap enough. Some you can even rent hourly."

"See you later tonight - look for a little hole-in-the-wall called Amelie. It might not look like much, but I guarantee it's quality. Ciao Ciao~"
