Within the first hour of the first visible falling meteor, something hits the ground with enough force that the ground trembles and power is lost for a few seconds. The impact can be heard throughout the city and the news reports that a small meteor made impact--only, they don’t report that they can’t find any damage and have no idea where it landed. Maybe that’s enough to convince some people, but anyone who knows about this powered war might expect that nothing good ever comes from space. Clue had heard about the meteor shower that was supposed to be happening and he had thought about asking New if he wanted to go out and watch it together somewhere. That wasn't crowded, so perhaps not a popular place, but somewhere they wouldn't be bothered at the very least. And it seemed that New had been receptive to the idea, which is why they were outside right now, watching the shower together. It had been the only day the two of them had been able to do it so far, so Clue definitely wanted to see as much as he could tonight. They were in a more secluded area of the park, on a hill that just hid them behind the trees, but it made it a bit more interesting that way. Now it seemed as though the trees were being used as a frame of sorts while they watched. He turned to New. "Haven't been able to do something like this in a while, but I'm glad we were able to get out here now."

Back home, in Thailand, they had festivals which were celebrated including a lantern festival so to have something going on in Destiny city was appealing to him. He'd skipped it the first year or so that he'd lived here - he didn't want to go alone. He'd watched from a bedroom window or while out walking around the city. He hadn't joined in at the usual sites where people gathered...he didn't feel like he belonged.
When Clue had asked him about going to watch he'd jumped at the idea, whilst trying not to seem too excited about it, and he'd let Clue decide on where they'd go to see the meteor shower from.
"You picked a good place." Shifting so he could better face the other, they'd thankfully brought a blanket so they weren't laying on the slightly damp grass. "Less people and noise." The ooh's and ahh's of children and the cries of infants were things he didn't want to deal with so much - he wanted to enjoy it in peace.
"I miss the festivals from home but it is nice to enjoy a festival here. It is a new tradition for us?" Hoping they could come every year, to this place, and enjoy the festival. "The city seems very invested in this star festival...like being back home. I have not heard of anywhere else around being so interested in a star festival. Not other cities around here." Just here it seemed and it felt special in a way - something that was theirs.

"Thanks. I didn't want to deal with the crowds." He replied. Honestly he didn't like the crowds at home either. It was why he had often watched from the farthest distance that he could. He just didn't feel like he could mesh with the crowd.
He grinned at New. "If you want it to be. I don't see why we can't." It was something exciting to think about. Now they could make some fun plans centered around the holiday and he would actually enjoy it!
"It is interesting, I wonder why that is. Maybe it some of it is from all of the magical stuff that happens around here. They wanted an explanation for it?" Even though the corrupt news blamed everything on the "terrorists" there may have been others who thought of it all differently. "I don't mind it though. It reminds me of home as well, but different, in a good way, you know?" Perhaps it was because he felt more at peace here or more accepted, but he felt like he could actually... relax and just enjoy it. Especially since he was here with New.
They didn't have too long to talk though as suddenly there appeared to be a larger meteor and when it went over the tree-lined distance it felt as though a small earthquake had hit and Clue quickly grabbed New, making sure that the other was okay. He waited after the tremors to see if there would be any more and after it appeared that they were gone he sighed. "Well... didn't expect that."

"Maybe, it could be a new festival in this city." Something fairly recent and the magic of the city might explain it then, somehow. Being here in a new city, well somewhat new at this point, and with someone close to him and special - it felt good.
"It does have some similarities to home...but it's different also. We have this, like back home, and each other who knew each other back home. A little old and a little new." A good blend if you asked him. "Familiar but free of things back home." Such as being able to openly date someone of the same gender and not worry, or at least not worry as muccch as they would back home. They could do it, they were free to, but the problems it would have brought them both.
Pointing up rather suddenly, as it seemed a larger meteor was coming down, he shook his head. "It's not going to break up enough." it was going to hit and somewhere. It wasn't broken up enough and it was going to make some impact - they'd see it he was sure. Twisting and turning to get a look at where it was headed he clung to Clue as the other grabbed hold of him and the ground shook as it made impact. "That....that isn't normal." That wasn't good.
"Should we see?" Was this going to wind up like some alien movie? Or some end of the world, meteors fall from the sky, movie? Neither was an appealing idea and he couldn't help but voice these thoughts to Clue as he stood up slowly, offering a hand up to his partner. "Do we power up?"

Clue thought about it for a moment. "I think we should. If there are any aliens coming out of that meteor, if it is a meteor, then we should at least try to be able to defend ourselves." Though there was a chance that if there were aliens that they might be attracted to magic and/or chaos instead. He wasn't sure what exactly was all involved in this magical war, but from the fog monster experience he was sure that there was much more going on than just the four factions that they were used to.
"We can always power down if need be, I hope." He muttered the last part. He wasn't sure how all this would turn out, even if they could find the meteor. Which they should be able to considering how large it was.
He took his pen out and said the required words and soon enough he was powered. He looked over at New. "We should be able to defeat any aliens together."

"And if not defend ourselves then let other people know." Get the word out so others could be safe and protect themselves, so they had time. They could easily let their own court know about it. "Magic does exist outside of here...not ours but others do." He said, remembering what he'd once been told so long ago.
"I don't like just us going into this but we need to." And he could hope others would turn up, that they wouldn't be alone. "I hope we don't need to remain powered up." Because that wasn't a good thing, that would mean there was something bad going on. Taking his pen out as well he lightly tapped it against Clue's. "Good luck to us both." A press of lips to the others cheek before he was pwoering up as well.
"Let's go see what happened."

Clue, now Bellerophon, nodded. "Right. We'll let them know as soon as we find something out." He looked surprised though when the other told him about other magic existing. "But-" He cut himself off mid-thought. He thought about it for a moment longer and realized that what had happened with that mist monster may have been what New was talking about. "That, makes sense, though it's a little intimidating to think about." He said, giving the other a small smile. "I guess we just have to become as powerful as we can so we can defend ourselves against whatever else is out there."
He blushed a bit at New's kiss and watched as the other transformed. When the other was done Bell gave him a quick hug. "We shouldn't have to, but we'll see. With the two of us we should be able to defeat anything that may attack. As long as it's not... huge."
They had a good strategy when it came to fighting together, but anything that was larger than a car would definitely make things harder.

"Mmm, yes. I'd like to see us both stronger - so we can better protect ourselves and each other." He didn't like feeling as helpless, and even scared, as he had with that mist monster and that little village. Being so powerless, unable to protect Clue, and being so nervous to sleep. It was a feeling he'd never felt before, the whole thing, and nothing he ever wanted to feel again.
He hoped the other understood that, that Clue agreed with him. "Let's go." He was, at least he liked to think he was, confident that they'd be safe tonight and no harm would come to either of them. As they headed towards the crash site he hoped this wouldn't happen next year, he sort of wanted a normal meteor shower festival next year, something to properly enjoy as a civilian.

Clue did understand the meaning and he hoped that the both of them would be stronger as well. Whether that meant literal power or experience, they both needed it, even if New was already stronger than he was. Clue didn't have the experience of fighting like the other did. And he hoped to understand more of the Dark Mirror as well. He was glad that he could now be able to help New and wasn't as vulnerable as before, but the Dark Mirror were still quite a mystery to him, and he hoped that he would know more by next year. He held the other's hand and they both ran towards the supposed crash site. Sleet Tempest Snape End post from me, thank you for the rp!
