Quote: Starlight Cookies and Moonlight Milk (4) : A new shop has opened up, just in time for the Star Festival! It doesn’t have anything on the menu except for Starlight Cookies and Moonlight Milk, but they are the talk of the town! Everyone who’s anyone has tried them, and without a doubt, they’re the most delicious things that they’ve ever tasted! Though...the reviews don’t mention that after you've had any, your eyes begin to glow strangely and sparkle like little galaxies are swirling within them. It’s beautiful, if a little strange! The effect fades after an hour, and your vision isn’t impacted...though, if you go to try the cookies again, the shop seems to have disappeared… Dates were good. Dates were normal and comforting...and since she hadn’t been on one in who knew how long...dates were very much wanted.
Olivia had a bounce in her step as she held on to Tavi’s hand for what felt like the first time in a very long time but...oh well. It was the first day of the Star Festival and there were instagram posts all about this fancy new cookie shop that had the cutest name for some of their treats.
Or...all of their treats, really. It was a cookies and milk place, and it sounded wonderful.
“I’m glad we’re getting to do this, Tavi, thank you for humoring me...Moonlight Mlik sounds so good...don’t you think?” She hoped he did...or hoped that he would at least humor her. He was always so good at that, after all.
Her eyes scanned the rows of shops and Olivia grinned. “There! Aw, it even looks cute! And there’s no line, I was expecting it to be absolutely packed given all of the posts about it! This must be a good time to come!” The excitement was evident in her voice and she tugged the blue haired male towards the shop, walking inside to the sound of a tinkling bell.
It didn’t take long for the smiling attendant to take their money and shoo the two of them to a table in the corner, a plate of warm, steaming chocolate chip cookies and two fancy looking glasses of milk being placed in front of each of them, with a Sapphire Star Charm on the straw in Olivia’s cup, and an Amber one on the straw of Tavi’s.
“Enjoy you two.” The woman said, and then disappeared into the back of the shop, leaving the two quite alone.
Olivia looked around and grinned a little sheepishly, reaching out and taking a cookie. “Starlight cookies and moonlight milk...cheers, Tavi?”

Tavi smiled at her and kissed her temple gently as they approached the shop. He'd been so busy with work and college classes the last several months - not to mention various powered responsibilities he sort of felt... well, responsible for - that they hadn't gone on a date in so very long. If he was honest, he missed it terribly, and savored any time he could just be out in the world with his little Swan Princess.
"It sounds incredibly tasty, and honestly, it's my pleasure. I've been so busy lately, for so long, that how could I not take this time to treat my little swan," he said with a smile. Tavi insisted on paying, and settled next to Olivia in the booth, one arm resting on the back of the cushion behind her. He chuckled a little at the charm colors. Oh the irony of them getting orange and blue.
"Cheers, Livy." He took a cookie, tapping it against hers gently. They really needed to do this more, man.

His little swan. Olivia had to bite her lip to stop herself from utterly swooning at that. She did move a little closer to rest against his shoulder, taking a bite of her cookie as she did so. “I know you’ve been busy. Life has just been busy. I get it.”
...She was lonely but...that was to be expected. Civilian life was just designed to be lonely, she supposed. Moments like this were nice though.
She took a sip of the milk and blinked. “Oh...the reviews weren’t lying...this stuff is fantastic. And the cookies are amazing too...We’ll have to come back here again sometime. I hope it’s not just here for the festival...that would be a shame, don’t you think?” She moved closer to Tavi, nibbling on her cookie and removing the charm from her straw, pinning it to her shirt and grinning. “Now we match. It’s like they knew.”

"Still, it's no excuse. I've never been really good about relationships... I think. That's the feeling I get anyway," he said, munching his cookie. Daymn, that was a good cookie. Almost illegally good. "You're right, these are fantastic!"
The cookie was consumed approximately ten seconds later, because apparently he had no self control.
Tavi pinned his own charm to his shirt and mused with her hair a little. "Ever since you brought me into the light, I think the universe has just understood us, ya know?" Tavi pressed his lips to her hair briefly, before drinking some of his milk.
"I've been doing some reading between classes and work lately, about love languages and relationship stuff. And some other kinds of books, of course," he teased, flashing a sly grin and nipping her ear gently. Balance. He needed balance in his life because he was very all or nothing, and Olivia was his only family at this point. Without her...
He wasn't really sure where he'd be.

Olivia laughed and continued eating her cookie before grabbing another one and munching on it too. “You must be good with relationships on some level, Tavi. You and I have been together since long before I can remember. Which...to be fair isn’t a long time that I do remember but...still. We’ve been together for a while. Years, even.”
The second cookie was finished before she had time to really think about it and Olivia laughed. “Other books, hm? What kinds of other books? Also, I love that you’re so involved with your studies...I’m envious. Sometimes...I feel like I might have liked school. But...it’s a fleeting thought. Maybe…”
Shrugging, the redhead rubbed at her eyes. “Maybe I’ll enroll for a class or two. I have no idea what I want to do with my life...but I suppose that’s true for everyone.
She didn’t realize that her eyes had started to glow faintly and sparkle. Didn’t realize anything amiss except for the fact that they were a little itchy...and that could simply be pollen.

"Yes, but I don't remember when we started being together, either, so... We've just been together forever, I suppose," replied Tavi, munching down on another cookie. He glanced at her, pensive for a moment. Hmm, what could she pick up...?
"You could take a pottery class," he said cheekily, poking her in the cheek. He started to chuckle, trailing off to gently grab her chin and turn her face to his.
What was going on with Livi's eyes... Tavi frowned, searching the sparkles with concern. "Livi, love, your eyes are... glowing...?" he told her, pulling back a bit. "Are you okay, love?"
He was unaware his own eyes were also beginning to glow, that was neither here nor there.

Pottery class...oh. That…
Olivia mulled that over for a moment before she blinked, looking up at him. “My eyes...ah…” She blinked and frowned. “...No…your eyes are glowing…” It was...worrisome but…very pretty...though, Tavi had always had beautiful eyes...but...never before had she seen actual stars in them.
“Your...they’re like space, almost...I love them. Even more than normal...is this something you’ve been hiding from me, Tavi? Should I be worried?” Her tone was almost teasing, it didn’t...seem harmful...but...then again...they had both been through enough to destroy a weaker mortal…
“Maybe it’s just the fact that we’re together again...it’s put stars in your eyes~”

Tavi blinked and pulled out his phone. "Unless there's something about this whole knighthood thing that transfers over to our civilian lives I don't think so..." He snorted, a chuckle deep in his chest, as she dropped a very cheesy line. He pecked her cheek again, still laughing, and opened the camera app on his phone.
"Alright, let's see if this shows up in technology, yeh?" he said, pulling her in close and snapping a selfie of the two of them. For two who had so little memories of their lives, pictures were a godsend.
Their future children were going have a blank slate of history to jump from, and he wasn't sure if he was okay with that. They needed to have at least something to tease their kids with...
Though that was still. Far away, ya know?
Tavi looked at the picture, drink more milk. "Ya know, we make a very cute couple... all your doing, I think."

The kiss left Olivia feeling utterly delighted and the fact that they were taking a selfie together...it was so nice. So domestic. So what if something strange was going on and their eyes were acting up...it might go away in a few hours or they might just combust. Either way she was sure she’d be fine with it.
She snuggled closer to Tavi as he looked over the picture and she was...very pleased by it.
Of course they were a cute couple. Olivia knew that much at least...and since they had been together forever...well.
“It sort of shows up...and of course we make a cute couple. I’m pretty sure by now that we were obviously made for each other.” Her tone was almost teasing...but…
She almost didn’t want that to be a joke….hm. No, maybe almost didn’t want wasn’t strong enough...she definitely didn’t want to not be made for him.
“We should come back here again soon, if you’d want to?”

"Well, we aren't hallucinating it, so maybe a side effect of the cookies or milk? Doesn't seem to be bad, except for a bit itchy," he replied, quickly sending the selfie to Livi's phone so she could have it too. Man, it was so... weird to be domestic like this. To just be out on a date like this, like normal people who didn't fight any wars or use magic. He could almost see a future that didn't have magic or powered identities, or looking over his shoulder thinking someone was going attack him.
Even now, he glanced about in case the shadows began to move. Every vigilant, ever cautious. He had to protect her, even at the cost of his own life. She'd saved him from a fate worse than death. It was only right he give his life to her.
"We will most definately come back. Not only are the cookies amazing, but taking you on dates is absolutely needed, love." Tavi squeezed her tight, nuzzling her hair. How he loved this woman with his whole being.
Besides, he had so many years to make up for.

Olivia grinned and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “I love you, Tavi. Shall we take a walk before we go home? It was a beautiful night after all…”
And it was so nice to just...pretend that they were normal. That all of this was normal. “Maybe tomorrow night we could go see a movie before we go out on our...ah. Other stuff? I mean. If you want to. Because. I do.”
She always would. He was everything. He was her home. There was absolutely no question about that.
Drinking down the last bit of her milk and swiping up the last cookie, snapping it in half so they could share it, Olivia grinned. “Come on, Tavi! The night is ours!”
The world was theirs.
