Kanja had told everyone he knew to come to the lake today. He had made so many friends lately, he wanted them all to get to meet each other too. Of course it wasn't exclusively just his friends. Anyone could come! They could swim (or learn to swim, as he was teaching so many) and cook some fish, just over all have a good time! If he remembered, some books called these 'festivities' or 'parties,' and he rather liked that. In preparation for everyone to arrive, Kanja had dug a fire pit and lined it with stone. He managed to rig up a system to let him cook 3 fish at once. Hopefully no one would be too hungry for long. He had asked one of the adults for help too, and the older, one-eyed genome brought him a lot of little fruits. This was perfect, right? Now he just had to wait.

Bellaluna, was not one crazy for diving into the water for any reason. She was the type to avoid water at all costs except for maybe drinking it when she was thirsty and taking a bath. She had no issues with taking baths its just the matter of swimming for fun or for leisure she wasn't too crazy about. After all she was a cat and cats were known to avoid water. It wasn't so much as the water, as it was making some new friends. She had yet to make any and she figured this kinda thing was a great way to start making some friends. She scanned around and looked for a free space on the shore to settle down.

Dash wanted to hurry down to the lake, but he knew better than to go faster than his own pace. Too many spills had taught him of that error in his ways. Nevertheless, he saw a couple people down by the water, one of whom was Kanja. He seemed to be setting things up for a real event. His heart quickened. He wanted to help. Once he got down to shore, he smiled cheerfully to the one girl he saw though he did not know, Bellaluna, and stepped up to his friend. "Kanja! Would you like some help?"

Truthfully Finley was a bit nervous about meeting new people. But since Kanja would be there, he convinced himself he’d be fine. Maybe it’d go smoothly. Plus, some of these people he’d be introduced to were Kanja’s friends. So they just HAD to be awesome individuals! Just like Kanja! Hopefully, Fin could live up to being just as cool as the others. He wanted to make a good impression so he took a deep breath and tried to relax.
As he neared the gathering point, he spotted Kanja, with two others he didn’t know. He greeted them with his best smile. “Hi,” he said, giving the group a small wave.
He gave a small whistle of amazement when he saw the firepit. “Wow!” he whispered. “That’s for cooking right? I read about it in some of the books on board.” He was excited at the prospect of cooking some fish. Kanja had talked about that before. Now Finley would actually get to see it done! How cool!
And the fact that there was also some fresh fruit too! Fin’s stomach rumbled, and he realized it had been awhile since he’d eaten. “Um, is there anything I can do to help as well?” he asked, trying to avoid the embarrassing sound of his stomach. He began looking around at the others.
Oh but he should probably introduce himself first, “I’m Finley by the way,” he added. “I met Kanja recently at the lake. And I look forward to getting to know you all too.”

Malachite sat on the shore leisurely moving his feet around in the water. He couldn't entirely remember how he got there. He has a vague memory of walking down one of the halls of the ship in the direction of his room before being dragged off by someone. He watched the others that had gathered from a short distance away, far enough away to go unnoticed at a quick glance but close enough to hear them. Kite had yet to actually meet anyone, only seen them in passing around the ship. He was content to sit where he was while the others engaged one another.

Argent had found the request a little odd. The weird lake boy, Kanja, had asked him for help with finding food. Apparently the boy was having a "party" for everyone. It was cute, really. So Argent had agreed and helped supply as much fresh fruit as he could gather. But the more he thought about it, the more a little get together like this sounded like a good idea. When was the last time Ghost had really gotten to interact with the others on the ship? He knew exactly where to find the operator, and knew this would be good for him. He found Ghost and walked up behind him, slipping an arm around him and leaning in to kiss his temple. "So, the little native boy that lives in the lake has invited everyone to come together. So you, my dear, are going to take some time off and come with me to this party." He whispered in the shorter man's ear.

He was so excited as he finished setting everything up. All he had left to do was catch some fish and.. oh! People were already arriving! This was great! He heard Dash call out to him and Kanja waved. "Hello my friend! Glad you're here!" He grabbed the boy in a hug, laughing. "Hm... Help? No I-" He paused, when he heard another person offer to help. "Fin!" Again, Kanja reached out and grabbed the other boy in a hug. "Good to see you here too! Thank you both for offering to help, but I think I have everything. I just need to catch some fish. OH! Do you two know each other yet?" Kanja let go of Finley and looked between the two. "Fin, this is Dash. He's one of my other sinking friends." He laughed. "I'm teaching both of you how to swim." Kanja explained. "Hey, actually, if you want to help, do you two know how to start a fire? Maybe you could get one going in the fire pit for me?" He asked hopefully. Maybe the two of them working together would get them talking. Maybe they could be friends too! Ah, it would be great if all his friends could become friends! "I'll be back in a few minutes, alright?" He beamed happily at them, and pat each of them on the shoulder before turning to go towards the water to grab some fish. Kanja didn't get too far though. He spotted a shock of very green hair and a pretty yellow colored suit. This was someone he didn't know! "Hi!" He greeted happily, jogging over to the unfamiliar boy. He squatted down beside him. "You come for the party? I'm Kanja!" He offered his hand, without really waiting for the boy to reply. "I'm happy to meet you!" This was exactly what he wanted. More people to come together! If he made new friends, that was great! And if everyone else made friends, even better! As he talked to the boy, he noticed another stranger. Kanja looked up, and his eyes widened and his mouth forming a very surprised O shape as he looked at the feline native that wasn't too far off. "AH!" He exclaimed suddenly, hoping he wasn't startling anyone. "You're a native like me! Well, not like me, because I don't have a fuzzy tail, but... You're, you know!" He was really excited to see another native. "Are you here for the party too? You and um..." He looked at the green haired boy. "My new friend, you should both come and eat with everyone. And if you like, I can teach you both to swim later!" He was SO excited, he felt like he was talking too fast!

Amaryllis had heard from Kanja that he wanted to get others together to have fun swimming at the lake...and this was a great opportunity for her to finally learn how to swim! She wanted to see what Kanja saw all the time and, if the plants they tested the other day were any sign, there must be so much more beautiful scenery below the surface. She was looking forward to it immensely and even decided to read up a bit on swimming to see if she could get a head start.
She read....and kept reading....and when she finally looked up, she realized she was going to be late. With a gasp she jumped to her feet and rushed out of the ship, hoping she hadn't missed anything. Amaryllis was rather stunned as she approached the lake to see....quite a few others. She thought she recognized a few that she'd seen around the ship, probably in and out of the library. For a moment she slowed her pace, feeling...nervous? Probably. Hopefully everyone would be nice....mostly.
"Hey everyone!" She called out as she jogged down to the shore of the lake, surprised to see the fire pit set up. "Wow....you really worked hard to make this a thing, Kanja. It looks great!"

Bellaluna, blinked as some more appeared all of which she didn't know which made her a little nervous. She hadn't had that much experience with socializing probably because she was the type to kind of keep to herself unless she got to know them more. She looked up at the other native boy, who had spoken to her. She nodded her head lightly "Yes, I'am but I have a fluffy tail and ears" she answered with a small smile. The other native seemed really nice, but at the moment she was a little overwhelmed by the amount of kids there were. But, she shrugged it off and figured it was part of the process of making some new friends. She flicked her tail to and fro and eyed the food that was going to be cooking on the firepit.

"Sinking...friends?" Dash looked blankly at Finley. Had they both discovered how to sink in the water? He laughed. "I am glad I am not the only one." He held out his hand for Finley. "Happy to meet you! I'm Dash!" he repeated after Kanja. He watched as the native boy started out for a swim and ended up greeting everybody, even people he didn't know! He turned back to Finley. "Do you know how to light a fire?" he asked nervously. He didn't want to let Kanja down already.

Ghost really found no reason to refuse letting himself get dragged out to the lake by Argent to join this 'party' he was talking about. Not only was it a good opportunity for them to spend some time together, but also to see what the kids were up to. He hadn't been able to find an opportunity for it in a while, having too much to take care of around the ship even between himself and Aren. He hadn't even been able to get aquanted with the youngest children apart from the first meeting he always had with them when they first woke, and that could almost be seen as an oversight on his part.
"All right, I'll come. Just let me finish up here real quick, gotta let Aren know we'll have to postpone our meeting." Since it was nothing too important today, he could. He knew Aren wouldn't mind, which was why he did exactly that, just sending a quick note to the other that he'd been asked out to the lake where some children were meeting up. It took a few minutes, maybe, to finish what he'd been doing enough to pick up back later, and they were on the way out to the lake.

The message got his attention for sure. Aren frowned at it for a moment, before his lips slowly curved into a grin. Ghost was not usually one to drop out of meetings or postpone his responsibilities ... so whoever had asked him to come to that party was probably the person he'd been seeing for a bit now.
While he liked kids and had no issues being around them, he too was usually too busy to do so. While it was Ghosts responsibility to take care of the childrens safety, the fact that he had been the only crew of the Utopia had just piled all work on him that wasn't usually for the Operator to handle. Since he had recovered, Aren had taken on most of it, making sure what was left of the ship kept running smoothly and trying to recover and repair some of the other systems.
Then again, this 'party' might be a good opportunity for him, too, to take a bit of time off. Maybe his children would be there, or at least Casshern. And maybe he would finally find out which one of the other adults Ghost had been seeing. There weren't many, but even knowing Ghost as well as he did, he had no idea who it could be. To say he wasn't curious at least would be a lie.
Aren caught up to Ghost and his companion shortly before they reached the lake. For a moment he might have thought that Ghost had gone alone after all, that he had just met with Argent outside by coincidence ... but the way they were so lost in each others company that neither had noticed his approach until he could basically breathe down their necks was telling enough. "Oh stars ... it's YOU."

Argent grinned when Ghost agreed, and was patient as he finished up his work. Ghost worked too hard, and sometimes, Argent wished he could do more to help, but he knew nothing about the daily running of the ship. So all he could do for now was support him. When Ghost was ready, Argent happily lead him through the halls and out towards the lake. He had his arm around the smaller man's hips as they walked. "That Kanja boy seems to have put a lot of work into this." He said as they walked. He didn't hear Aren coming up behind them until he spoke. His first instinct was to put himself between Ghost and whoever this was. At least he had enough restraint to not try and punch the unknown who joined them. "Aren." He let out a breath and relaxed his protective grip on Ghost. "Yes, it's me. You coming to the party too?" It would make sense.

Finely was caught by surprise when Kanja gave him a hug. He chuckled a little awkwardly, unsure if he was supposed to hug his friend in return. He found his face growing red to match his hair again. Though he didn’t have a lot of time to think it over as he was introduced to Dash. “Ohhh so this is the other person who said they’d sink in the water! Heh!” He grinned at this. Maybe he’d have more in common with Dash than he thought. “It’s nice to meet you too,” he added, taking Dash’s hand and giving it a firm shake.
Upon asking if Kanja needed help, the native boy tasked them with starting a fire. When Dash asked if Fin knew how to make one, he was sort of at a loss. “Well…” he trailed off, thinking hard. The only heat he knew how to use were burners in the kitchen. He was pretty sure when it came to starting a fire outside it involved wood and some sort of rock. But what type exactly he couldn’t remember? He tried his best to describe what he knew, to Dash. “We need firewood and...umm some sorta rock,” he explained. “Sorry I don’t know much more than that. Maybe we should ask an adult?” He looked over at the others who were gathered. The adults were kind of...intimidating; at least to Fin. Plus, they looked..busy. So maybe scratch that idea. “Orrrr we could ask one of Kanja’s other friends?” He shrugged, not really sure what to do.
His gaze went to Bellaluna and then to another boy whom Kanja was speaking with. He didn’t recognize either of them so he was unsure if they would know how to start a fire either. But it couldn’t hurt to ask.
Just then Fin’s attention went to Amaryllis who had shouted a greeting to everyone as she jogged down to the lake shore. Maybe they should ask her. Fin waved at her in response as she arrived on the scene. “Hello,” he greeted her. “This might sound a bit random, but...do you know how to start a fire? I can’t remember what kind of rock is needed. Just that you hit them together to make sparks on the wood. Unless there’s another way? Heh, matches might be more handy, but I don’t have any of those.”

Amaryllis looked over at Finley when he greeted her and smiled, only to tilt her head a bit when he posed the question towards her. Starting a fire? Wasn't there a book she read that mentioned something about that? Her pink eyes looked upwards as she tapped her cheek thoughtfully. "Hmm....I think I saw that in a book about survival. Oh, flint!" Her face lit up when it finally came to her. "I think the stone was called flint. I wonder if there's anything like that around here? Or maybe some kind of fire starter on the ship?" Considering she didn't know how to tell what kind of rock here might be similar to flint (aside from experimenting, which could take a while), her only idea was to find a fire starter or ask one of the adults.
"Oh, I'm Amaryllis, by the way. It's great to meet you!" Suddenly remembering manners, she introduced herself to the two boys with a smile. Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement and saw some adults coming their way, one of them she recognized immediately. "Argent!" She waved as she called out to him. "Do you know if there's anything around here to start a fire?"
