After her unsuccessful tests for tea plants with Kanja, Amaryllis had hoped that a nap would help settle her stomach. Unfortunately she was very wrong and didn't get an ounce of rest....not with her stomach cramping and trying to twist on itself. She didn't even go to the sickbay to try and find medicine, since it wasn't an emergency. She wasn't poisoned or anything like that....just suffering the consequences. She could only imagine how Kanja must be feeling but hopefully he was having more luck resting in the lake than she was right now.
Unable to just continue lying there and hoping the discomfort would go away, she got up and decided to go for a walk. Maybe some fresh air would do her good again; she just had a feeling that being outside would feel better. Amaryllis didn't want to wander too far from the ship, just in case, so she walked slow and tried to stick to a path others had treaded.

It was a nice day to be outside. Argent had finished training, and thought perhaps it would be good to go out, maybe gather some more herbs. It had been a good workout finding where certain plants grew, and trying to harvest them safely? Oh boy. So the silver haired genome set out for a bit of fun gathering herbs.
As he left the ship, he noticed a child walking slowly. They didn't seem to be feeling peppy. Argent frowned slightly before following the girl. He got closer and could hear her stomach make some upset noises. He couldn't suppress a grin. "Rough night, hm?"

Amaryllis really did try to enjoy the fresh air, the sunlight and the view...but it was just so hard when her stomach sounded like an angry, pacing animal in a cage...just waiting to strike. She didn't even realize someone had caught up to her till she saw a noticeable shadow, looking up and spying a familiar taller genome. She'd seen him around quite a bit, especially with Ghost....Argent, right?
To his question, she nodded with a small whine. "Yeah...stomach hasn't shut up or stopped churning. I thought it would go away if I slept..."

He studied her for a bit. "Hm. You either over ate, or you ate something you didn't exactly like." He thought for a moment, then pulled something out from the travel pouch at his hip. "Chew on this. Don't swallow the plant, just the oils as you chew." He offered her a deep, dark green plant with red veins. It had an almost... citrusy scent, and a minty taste as one chewed it.

"Both.." She answered ruefully, sighing with a small wince when she felt another cramp in her stomach. Why did it have to feel like it was trying to turn into a knot? She looked up at him when she saw him offering the interesting-looking plant. She took it and sniffed it a little, the scent curious....and as she chewed she shuddered a bit. "...Kinda tastes like toothpaste..."

"I suppose it does." Argent laughed a little. "But it will make your stomach feel better in a little while." He pat her shoulder. "So, little lady, what were you doing to cause yourself so much distress?" He asked, then realized he didn't know who she was either. "Oh... what should I call you?"

Amaryllis couldn't help but smile a little when he laughed, chewing the plant and following his advice. The taste was strong but not unpleasant, quite refreshing actually. "Hm? Oh, I'm Amaryllis....and you're Argent, I've...seen you around a lot and heard someone say your name." She looked down at her hands that were idly turning and feeling the minty plant. "And...as for what caused this, my friend Kanja and I were testing different plants from the lake to see if they could be used to make tea. It....failed...spectacularly."

"Hmmm... The lake boy?" It seemed like everyone knew the native lad. He sure got around. It was cute. "Amaryllis..." What was with all these complicated names? First Padparadsha, now her? "Yeah, I'm Argent. Nice to know that my name gets around." He teased gently. "So, you and Kanja were... testing plants. What, did you just eat a bunch of unknown plants?"

"Yeah, I met him when I was out looking for plants that might be similar to the ones used for tea." She hoped it didn't sound stupid, even if the actions afterwards kind of did. "Yeah, we tested a lot of plants. We brought them to the lab first to see if they were poisonous and then we tasted a little bit of each one that was safe. They were....not good....except the last one, I think. Most of them had really bad tastes and we even tried a bunch of snacks to get the taste out when just water wouldn't work."

Ok, he couldn't help but laugh at that. He pat her on the shoulder. "Here's a little advice, you know, for future experiments. Only taste test one plant every 12 hours. You won't risk your tongues, or your stomachs. And if something really tastes that bad. Brush your teeth and tongue." He pulled off a leaf of the plant he had given Amaryllis and chewed on it himself. "I speak from experience." He turned his silver eye towards the direction they were walking. "Feeling better, Ama... Ame... Amy?" He really hated these complicated names.

This time she giggled a bit along with him when he laughed, looking up at him and listening to his advice. She nodded along...then blinked in a bit of a stupor when he mentioned brushing her teeth and tongue to get rid of the taste. "...Oh yeah...I forgot about that." Now she felt stupid but hearing him say he spoke from experience helped her feel less foolish. "Thanks, I'll try to remember that. We still want to try more plants from inside the dome....just because I wanted to try and make tea."
Amaryllis looked up at Argent when he tried to say her name again, smiling a bit at the last one. "I do, actually...thank you. You can call me Amy, if it's easier. I like how that sounds." She looked down at the plant in her hands, thinking. "I think the book mentioned that mint was sometimes used for teas that helped with stomach problems. Maybe this could do the same?"

Oh good. She didn't mind the nickname. Amy was a much easier name. "Well, Amy, there are a lot of good plants in the dome." He pointed to the plant she held. "You might be able to make some out of that, even. It could be similar to the mint of the old world. I can show you where some grows. You can gather a bit yourself to make this tea you want."

Amy smiled when he mentioned a lot of good plants in the dome, her eyes widening and practically glittering when he said he could show her where the mint-like plant grows. "Really?! That would be great! Have you explored a lot of the dome already? I've only gone as far as the lake, so far."

Argent gave her a little smile. She seemed eager to go. He spit out the chewed plant piece. "I've explored... probably every part of the dome." He was older, after all. He had more time to explore. "Mmm. Well, all of the dome above water at least. Feel up to climbing a little? The only place I've found this has been up on the cliffs."

Of course he'd had more time to explore the dome; that was a dumb question to ask. Still, if he'd explored more then maybe he knew about other plants that might be safe or useable. "Sure! Well, I haven't tried climbing yet but I can try!" She eventually spit out the plant she'd chewed as well, glad that her stomach settled down quite a bit. It wasn't completely gone yet, of course, but it was many levels above moments ago.
