Kerberos let out a breath. It had been a while since he'd spoken to Monoceros about going to space together, but that was the way of things--coordinating schedules was complicated. Finally, though,th ey'd managed to find a time to meet.
He sat on the edge of the Times Circle fountain, waiting idly for Monocedros to arrive. It would be nice, to get to show off his planet again--especially as it began to come back to life. Every visit now seemed to bring more life and magic to the world, and it made Kerberos's heart soar to think of it.
He just hoped Monoceros was as excited to see it as he was.genovianprince we've said we were gonna do this forever so i'm just starting it now

Monoceros jogged up, having procrastinated just a bit too long—he always had a hard time turning off his streams when he was done playing games, because just chatting with everyone was super fun. And it had nearly made him late for this important journey. "H-Hey," he said a bit breathlessly as he came up, a wide grin on his face. "You come here often?" Dude, no, said his little Jiminy Cricket a few moments too late. Oh well. He may as well go into Full Dumbass mode.

Kerberos blinked, and then laughed. "Not to answer a hypothetical literally, but yeah, actually, I do," he said, and he shook his head, grinning fondly. Then, he extended a hand, holding up his Senshi phone.
"Ready to go see another planet? Or do you need another minute to catch your breath?"

Monoceros took a deep breath, holding it for a moment, and then slowly exhaled. "Breath caught, but it escaped after a few moments," he joked, cringing and shaking his head a moment later. "Ah, sorry. I can't ever just have a serious moment; it's part of my godly-assigned gayness. Or just ADHD, I dunno." He shut his eyes forcefully for a second before blinking them open again. "Okay, I'm stopping. Sorry. Yes, I'm ready." He grinned widely and grabbed Kerberos's hand.

Kerberos laughed, softly. "Understandable, and honestly, sometimes a sense of humor is really helpful."
Once Monoceros took his hand, Kerberos took a breath. He opened the app to teleport to his moon, closed his eyes, and focused.
When he opened them again, they stood in front of the pool that was so familiar to him--the one outside Irit's living quarters, the one he'd dance don to earn his Transcendence.
"Ah," he said, "this is the main temple, in what I think is the capitol city? Kerberos isn't very big, and I don't think it was ever super populated--but my past self used to live here, and he basically worked as a magical grief counselor and part-time exorcist."

Monoceroes sucked in a breath when he opened his eyes and saw their changed environment. Wow. "It's really pretty out here," he said quietly as he slowly turned in a full circle, craning his head every which way to get a good look at everything. "Kind of sad, in a way, but beautiful." Then he had a thought, and before he could shut his mouth, he asked, "Hey, why haven't like, NASA or whatever found this stuff, anyway?"

Kerberos nodded, and sighed softly.
"It's true. Beautiful but sad is about it," he said, and then he stepped forward onto the water, and this time it gave under his feet. The pool wasn't particularly deep, and the water had cleared up as he spent time on his planet, and he sighed contentedly. "Water's nice," he said, invitingly.
But Monoceros's question made him crack a smile.
"I mean, the same way no one can tell who we are under the fancy uniforms--it's a magical glamour that protects us both from each other and from mundane folks discovering our Wonders and the architecture on our planets."

Monoceros blinked, then took off his moccasins and socks and followed, grateful he didn't have to roll up pants or anything. Skirts were so nice. "Yeah, that makes sense," he said as he waded in. "Wow, this feels so nice..." He grinned softly, running his hands through the water too. Something about this place, even as run down as it was... resonated with him. It... made him want to finally visit his own planet. To... start cleaning up the mess that had been left behind. Somehow, seeing how someone else was doing helped him feel stronger.

Kerberos sighed, contentedly. The water wasn't super deep, but it was deep enough, especially since there was a little bench inlaid within, so he could sit down and sink to his shoulders.
"Doesn't it? When I first got her,e it was sad and dirty, full of dead plants and detritus--but I cleaned it out, and it's cleared up on its own since. And now it's just...nice."
Something on the back wall caught his eye, and she stood up, moving over with a thoughtful hum. There had always been flowers there, but now several of them were glowing bright--and Kerberos reached out to touch them, and felt a rush of magic flow through him, and the sensation of something...blooming in his chest.
"Oh," he said, quietly, reverently. Something wonderful had happened, he was sure of that.

Monoceros hummed a bit and then stripped off his skirt, leaving only the little leather shorts he wore underneath, so he could sit and least simulate being dry once he got out. He wanted to get fully under that water now, compared to just a moment ago, and slipped in, sitting on one of the benches and watching Kerberos touch the flowers curiously. "You good fam?" he called out, cringing as the internet lingo slipped out of his real mouth. <******** idiot.

Kerberos laughed, softly, and turned around. "I'm fine," he said. "Nothing here is going to hurt me, I'm pretty sure. I know there are some planets that are less friendly? But Kerberos has never been anything but safe and welcoming for me."
He walked over to where Monoceros was sitting, plonking back down on a bench himself. "You should think about visiting your world," he said. "Not immediately, it's waited for a thousand years and it can wait a few more months, but when you feel up to it."

Monoceros pulled his hair out of the bun it was and dunked his head under the water to give himself a few seconds to just think of a response to that. Because he really did want to visit, but it was scary to think about. But also, the longer he waited, the more guilt clawed in his chest. Now with dripping wet hair, he sat back up and brushed the hair from his face. "I want to," he said quietly, leaning against the wall and staring up at the sky, "I just... I guess I'm still a little overwhelmed. And the longer I go without going, the harder and harder it gets to just get up and ******** go, y'know?"

Kerberos nodded, giving Monoceros a smile he hoped was reassuring. "It's okay to take your time, but also? Your planet has waited a thousand years. It's not gonna begrudge you a little while longer." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Maybe it's just me? But I've never found my planet stressful at all. My first visit was a little rough, but that's because..." Kerberos sighed. "I was expecting it to be a lot more devastated than it was, and I just...had a lot of feelings, seeing it even a little alive."

Monoceros hummed at that, looking up at the sky. "That sounds... better than I was expecting, honestly. Maybe it'll be easier to go, now." He chewed his lip a little. "It just... feels easier knowing, I guess, that I won't be overwhelmed when I go."

"Your planet wants you to visit it, and it wants ot help you grow," Kerberos said, "or at least that's the impression I've gotten. So I don't think it would try to overwhelm you on purpose, or anything like that. Not when that's directly contrary to its interests."
He puileld himself out of the water and onto the edge of the pool, letting out a contented little sigh.
"Thank you for coming here with me, Monoceros. I like to share my planet with other people. It gets lonely, coming here by myself all the time."
