He had...an insane amount of things to catch up on.
It should be expected when one was gone as long as he was, but even then just seeing the sheer amount of paperwork and information he had to look through was overwhelming. This was important to him, however. It was his duty to get caught up on everything the Negaverse had worked on in his years of absence. He could not properly assist his fellow agents if he had no idea what they were up to, afterall. Or who they were...so many new faces since he'd last been here.
Scheelite had set to his task with a few energy drinks (Rockstar, of course) stashed under his desk. A bag of chips had been stashed away in a drawer, in case he grew hungry later. Epsilon had not come with him today, the Mauvian a bit too engrossed in some project back home to come to Negaspace today. That was alright, Scheelite had plenty to work on today. His desk had some papers spread across it, places to take notes as he worked for later transfer to his tablet. The office was still a bit sparse, the blonde General in the process of making the place more his.
He currently had the database open, scrolling through the roster and trying to familiarize himself with faces and names. Knowing the agents would be a good start, from there he could try to dig into just what missions had been run in the past. And from there he could start formulating plans for moving forwad. Morale and safety were the things he wanted to focus on.
The door to his office had been left cracked open, a neon glow spilling from the door frame out into the hallway a bit. It was a warm invite to anyone passing by, even if he was busy with reading he always had time for his fellow Negaversers.stari_maga Sorry it took so long getting this set up. If I need to make an adjustments, just let me know!

Sylvite was decorating. She'd applied for a slightly bigger office a few weeks after her upgrade, and when her request had been granted, she'd shown up to find it looking very sad and bare compared to the little pink cubicle that had been her Negaspace home for the last few years. Luckily, the pink part of that was all stick-on wallpaper, and using the edge of one of her knives and as much patience as she could possibly muster, she managed to peel one of the sheets off the old wall and carefully carry it over to stick it on the new one. It bubbled a little bit in the corners. Some of the sticky stuff must have come off in transition. Still, it looked pretty good, and if it meant that Sylvite didn't have to buy any more wallpaper, that was always a plus. She stepped back out into the hall, ready to go back for a second sheet. That was when she noticed something glowing. That wasn't necessarily weird on its own, in a castle made of magic crystals, but in an office? Sylvite didn't know of anyone but her who had their offices set up with more than the bare minimum, or with anything that glowed. When she thought about it harder, she didn't think that there had been anyone in that particular office at all. The wallpaper could wait. Sylvite dashed over to the door and knocked three times. "Hi," she said, then sucked in her cheeks and peeked through the opening without waiting for an answer. When she saw an unfamiliar guy sitting at a desk, she broke into a grin. "I thought there might be someone new around here," she said, wiggling her fingers in a wave.

Man he really needed to do more decorating, though the crystals themselves were pretty cool! Still, he'd have to find some time to get more personal touches in there. Maybe Epsilon could help him rig some sort of minifridge that could still operate in Negaspace. Having a cold stock of Dew or energy drinks right at his fingertips would be swell. More glowsticks obviously, some kind of stars... A proper place for Tanzanite's feather to rest when not attached to his body...
All of that would have to wait though, as it would seem he had a guest! At the three knocks he quickly lifted his gaze from the reading, turning all his attention to the door he'd left partially cracked open. Seems someone took that as a sign of visitors being welcome. Excellent! That's what he had been hoping for!
"Oh, hey there! Come on in, welcome!" Scheelite wore a large smile on his face, and was hopping to his feet to better greet his guest. The blond general practically radiated glow, his uniform carrying an assortment of colors of glowing bands.
"New to the office, recently returned from a good deal of off time....I'm General Scheelite! Are we office buddies? That'd be pretty cool!" He'd been waiting to see who else might have an office nearby, and was really hoping it was some of the more friendly sort. As much as he missed say...Obsidian, or some of the other older Generals that he really had no idea if they were even around still...well, perhaps it was better to be sharing a hallway with some newer faces. New to him, at least.

Sylvite spent a good three seconds just wide-eyed and staring, her eyes flicking around what she could see of the office before she turned back to the General in the chair. Now she could see that a bunch of the light was actually coming from him. "That's so many glowsticks," she said, her grin getting even bigger as she took a few steps towards his desk. "I love it. I love everything about your clothes. Wow." If she could borrow some of those elements for her fashion projects without needing Negaverse magic, she'd be set. Still, for now she was more than happy to be office buddies with someone who glowed. Well, someone who glowed because they had a cool outfit and not in the gross Order way. "I'm Sylvite, and I guess we're buddies," she said. "I'm moving in down the hall. I just got promoted and the extra space is really nice, since, y'know. Getting promoted and having subordinates and all apparently means more paperwork." She shrugged, not seeming too frustrated about it. She'd signed up for the paperwork when she'd signed up for Information, and that had been years ago. Eventually she looked from his clothes to his face, and squinted a little bit. She was pretty sure that she'd never seen him before, even in the big meetings during the administrative turnover back in her Lieutenant days. "Were you off on a mission or something, or just, like, chilling?" she asked, always curious.

"Ah yeah, you like 'em?" The grin on his face was vast and genuine as she complimented the glowsticks. He couldn't help but spread his arms and wriggle his fingers...not that his fingers had any glowsticks, but somehow it just seemed pertinent to the display to do so.
"Well Sylvite, glad to meet you! Glowsticks are just one of those things I have a never ending supply of, so hey...take some for your office yeah?"
He gestured to a box of them on a shelf. Scheelite had plenty of them to go around! And what better way to start sprucing up a new office than to add a little glow to it?
"Extra space is pretty awesome. I'm still getting caught up on paperwork myself."
He glanced over to his desk a moment before turning his attention back to her.
"It uh...there's a lot to catch up on when you've been out of the game for a while! Which, yeah, haven't been on a mission. Just haven't been...an active agent for a really long time."
One hand had slid up to his hair, awkwardly brushing at it while he tried to exp;ain. Embarrassment was quickly growing as he tried to put into words just why he was gone. He didn't want to seem like a bad officer to someone he just met, but it was hard explaining the events of years ago when so many of the players weren't seemingly around themselves.
"Back now though! Ready to work REAL hard since I've been gone so long. Need to get caught up and then some!"

Sylvite blinked quickly when he started looking all nervous. That was bad. The last thing she wanted was to make someone feel guilty for being away or something. "Oh, don't worry, that's not a big deal, either," she said, smiling straight at him now in a way that was supposed to be encouraging. "I get busy sometimes, too." She'd always been pretty good about keeping up with quota, but when school or work picked up, there could be times when she didn't see the office for a couple months. If something more serious than school came up for someone, she wasn't gonna judge. She might ask questions. The way he was acting had her really curious, but she knew better than to go asking quite yet. She made her way over to the box of glowsticks instead, picking out a couple of pink ones. "Should I swap you something for these? That's a buddy thing to do, yeah? Let's see." Without waiting for an answer, she started digging through her subspace pocket. First she pulled out a chunk of quartz that she'd picked out of some gravel. It would've been more impressive if they weren't already surrounded by giant crystals, but she set it on the corner of his desk anyway. Next was a half-finished string bracelet, which she sent back after just a second of squinting at it. Something like that had to be done before it made a good present. Then she found something better, and she held the little blue bag out towards him. "I've got Oreos," she said, tilting her head.

While he doubted that their versions of getting a bit too busy to continue Negaverse work were the same, it meant quite a bit to be reassured that others sometimes missed out on their duties too. It wasn't the best look, of course, but sometimes things came up! Sometimes they came up for years...and years....
And....nevermind. It didn't matter.
He'd be comfortable answering questions in the future, once he was more settled. For now it was good to still be a bit hesitant, he hadn't been back too long and Heather wasn't quite ready to fully dive back in yet. Let her come back and tell her own story, or choose not to if she wanted. Scheelite would simply stick to the parts of the story that involved him. ...Mostly about the -way- they left, rather than the -why-.
Ah! But now she was digging through her subspace pocket and Scheelite was watching what she brought out with delight. Though there was crystal everywhere, that little chunk of quartz was interesting. But what came out of the space after the crystal piece was even better. Oreos.
"A couple Oreos for your fill in glowsticks sounds like a wonderful trade! I'd love that! I'll have to insist you eat a few Oreos with me however." Here he grinned, nabbing two of the cookies from the package before offering it back to her so she could take some as well.

"Yeah! We can share them," said Sylvite. There was no hiding just how thrilled she was that this guy seemed to be up for making friends right away, unlike the half of the Negaverse that was annoyingly stuffy and professional. As she picked a cookie from the package and sent her handful of pink glowsticks off to supspace in its place, she was still smiling. She rocked playfully back on her heels. Of course she noticed that he still seemed kinda nervous about something, and that he wasn't nearly as generous when it came to talking about what had happened to him as he was when it came to giving out trinkets, but that was okay. At least, it was okay for now. With any luck, he'd open up more after she got some more snacks in him. In the meantime, she glanced towards the stack of papers on his desk. "Are you reading reports?" she asked. "All at once? That's impressive. They can get kinda, uh, dense." She could read a couple at a time these days, but only with the help of a lot of cute highlighters to keep her focused. "I'm an Information General," she said. "It's kinda my job to know things and keep agents updated, so if you need a crash course or highlights or something, that's hopefully more interesting than a piece of paper," she wiggled her fingers to emphasize that she was right there.

Annoyingly stuffy and professional were never words that would describe Scheelite. While he understood that ranks of command existed he wasn't one for the traditional ways of respecting them. He'd always grown far too close to those above and below him in station, though that had it's way of working out for him. Charonite was likely rolling in his grave over the fact Scheelite had never really learned his lesson for interacting with high ranking Negaversers.
The papers on his desk were glanced at as she brought them up. He laughed a bit, shaking his head.
"Paperwork has never been my thing. Hell I had a long stint of drawing out my plans with crayons! Worked remarkably well but I suppose it isn't exactly the best way to get ideas across."
Tanzanite and Zinkenite had approved though, that had to count for something!
"Looking over a few reports, but it's mostly just the basic roster. There was a time I knew everyone here! Maybe not well but I at least knew their names. Looking over the roster now there's...so many new faces. Far more of them than those I remember. It's great there's so many here! But..disorientating to someone who's been gone so long. A crash course in things that have been going on would be wonderful!"
The papers were pushed aside, his full attention on her now.
"So...what's up?"

"Crayons are good, though," said Sylvite, her face falling just a little bit at the thought that any kind of art supply might be discredited. "I was using Walmart highlighters and markers to color code my stuff there for a while, up until I discovered Midiliners." She wiggled her fingers for emphasis, because yeah, stationary stuff was one of the things that she got weirdly excited about. "Also Tombow markers, and those fancy gel pens with the different effects. It's getting kinda expensive, honestly, but it's so aesthetic that I just can't stop." She'd gotten her promotion with a report written in gel pen, so it seemed to be working. At least, it wasn't holding her back. Tangents aside, Sylvite stepped forwards, a little bit more serious, and she rested her fingertips on his desk. "Okay, so when you say you've been gone for awhile, what does that mean, exactly?" she asked. There was no judgement in her voice, just a professional curiosity. "Like, were you around when Negaspace got invaded?" She didn't think that she'd seen him, even back then. "I think that was the biggest thing that kind of changed the structure of the Negaverse and stuff."

At the conversation about highlighters and markers he absolutely perked up. Finally! Someone truly understood the greatness of his crayon plans. Zinkenite and Tanzanite had been impressed at the plan he had come up with, but Sylvite appreciated the medium he had used to convey these elaborate (for him!) plans. That was something else entirely! And he absolutely loved it.
As the conversation continued though.
Oh dear.... Well...
"Ah...I'm afraid I don't know anything about Negaspace being invaded. The last major events I was present for....well. I was here for the assault on the Blood Moon Court to retrieve some of our own."
So much had happened in that battle. Marthozite's death, Tanzanite's transformation, the recovery of agents and the loss of others. It...was a lot.
"I was also here when the doors to the Rift were first opened and we made our way into, well, this city we all chill in now."
Before then it had been a few simple halls. Having all this space now was pretty amazing, and the deeper recesses of the Rift were fascinating to him. But those were not things he wanted to explore right now.
Now was for catching up on officer talk.
"So...Negaspace was invaded? How? What happened???"

"Wait." Sylvite's eager-but-almost-professional smile was gone in a second. "You had to retrieve people?" She blinked, trying to process that. Something shifted in her head, and her voice came out quieter. "Was that. Uh. Was that just a little bit before the invasion, or was it a lot?" She glanced at him, then shook her head. "I guess you wouldn't know, but I don't think that the ones who took me called themselves the Blood Moon Court or anything, which means-" Her nose twitched. She felt like she wanted to throw up. "I guess Order makes a habit of kidnapping people. Probably the torture, too, yeah?" she asked, lips twisting completely to one side of her face. Her scars were old, but talking about this stuff too much made them itch anyway, and she absentmindedly rubbed at her wrist while she talked. "Ugh. They're so gross," she said with a little huff. "The invasion, too. They, y'know, invaded, here." She gestured to the walls of the castle. "We drove them off, but they killed General-Queen Apatite, and a bunch of other people, too. It was bad." Sylvite straightened. Of course she'd talk about the nasty stuff, but they didn't have to dwell on it. "But we restructured some afterwards, and I think it's been going better since then?"

Oh...too late. They were definitely going to dwell on it for at least a few moments more.
To hear that not only had Order kidnapped others, but had again resorted to torture? It...it was a punch straight to the gut. Those who had survived the Blood Moon Court's kidnapping had not escaped unscathed. Those who had been captured bore scars both physical and mental. Those who had come to their rescue had taken on their own traumas in the ensuing chaos. It had been a time that would forever define his life, no matter how much he tried to push it away.
But perhaps even worse than that, Order had invaded Negaspace. For that to have happened at all was alarming, but for it to have occurred while he was essentially running from his duty? He...he truly had failed in the one thing he had hoped to never mess up again. Scheelite had wanted to be there for his fellow officers.
And he hadn't been.
"...General King Marthozite was killed by the Blood Moon Court. As were a few others they had captured. Mirrorwalkers, led by Ares...it took us weeks of searching but when we finally tracked down where they were hiding they had prepared a warehouse of traps for us. Those of us who made it out of there barely escaped."
It did not matter how much time had passed...the sensation of glass slicing across his neck as a tornado of it ripped a fellow officer to shreds was something he would never forget. He could still feel the blood dripping down his face from his old scars. Phantom sensations that flared up far too often for his own liking.
"We had one powerful weapon on our side though, a massive phoenix Youma, and from it's ashes rose General Queen Tanzanite."
The large purple feather he had? Yeah, he was going to run a hand down it. Forever a source of comfort from awful memories.
"That was the worst time of my life, to hear that it happened again, and that they invaded here...they grow far too bold. And I feel awful for not being here to help drive them away."

It felt weird to say that she didn't know who General-Queen Tanzanite was when he spoke about her with such reverence. Yeah, there might have been a name in the records somewhere, but she'd never seen a person with that name, even back before the administrative turnover. It felt weird to say that she didn't know why he was petting his feather. Instead, she said, "You don't have to feel awful." She took a deep breath, giving a little bit of a lopsided smile. "I don't think it was quite that intense when people came to save us, that time. It wasn't, like, okay. I mean, it sucked, but everyone made it out alive." She tried to smile wider. She couldn't say the same thing about the invasion. She couldn't say the same thing at all. As a Lieutenant, she'd had to help clean out the castle afterwards, and that was something that she was never scrubbing from her mind. The casualties had been massive, and having another General around probably would have helped a lot, but she didn't need Scheelite focusing on all that right now. "Order is the worst," she said, because that was the important thing. "I think that's what we can get out of all of this. So gross. So need to be stopped." She'd been staring off a little bit as she'd thought about the past, but now she met the other General's eyes again. "I'm glad you're back, to help us fight them again."

It would have felt weird for him to realize there were people who had no idea who Tanzanite was. Then again, he didn't have a clue who a good chunk of the current Negaverse roster was, including those in high positions. It was only natural for people to not know everyone who came before or after their time here.
What -was- hard for him to fathom was the idea that Tanzanite had just...disappeared. She was such a force to be reckoned with when he had known her. What could have possibly taken her out of the equation? Was she really gone? That was a thought that was going to weigh on him considerably.
But there were other things to be addressed right now.
"They are the worst. Disorganized, do they all even know what they're fighting for? I've had luck talking to them in the past and making them understand our side. Something I'd like to keep picking at....after all, any of them we can have join our cause is a great benefit!"
One more ally. One less person to have to fight against. He was all for limiting fighting when he could.
He couldn't help but smile as she looked him in the eyes. It was something small, to be told someone was glad to have you back. But, honestly? It...was at least some of the weight off of his shoulders.
"I'm glad to be back. I'm more...a backup support type, if we were going to call it in video game terms." He laughed and grinned, his normal demeanor seeming to return.
