The night was quiet for once, thought Puck as he went about his patrol looking for Negaverse agents to take out. Pausing on a rooftop, he looked up at the starry sky. No fog either; this made him surprisingly happy, as it seemed that every time he was out on a foggy night, he ran into that General that hated him so much. The Super Senshi of the Woods grinned wickedly. He couldn't imagine why the other's hatred burned so fiercely…

He resumed leaping between buildings, keeping an eye out for trouble, even though he welcomed the quiet evening. He'd be able to finish his rounds soon and get back to his house to finish recording songs for the new CD he wanted to sell during his busking routine. Maybe Sid would be there to add some interesting beats or snippets to the songs, just to set them apart from the average busker one came across on city streets. New music meant more money coming in.

Lost in thought, he didn't notice the Chaos aura until his senshi phone went off as he approached the park. He stopped and leapt down to the street just across from it, looking at the GPS app. It hit him then: this wasn't a Negaverse agent, but one of those Dark Mirror senshi. He could feel it now, not too far away in the park itself. He held nothing against the Dark Moon, apart from the fact that they drained energy like the Negaverse did; they didn't nick starseeds though, at least not that he knew. And the ones he'd met seemed to be okay with the Order side of things, not wanting to fight.

Maybe he'd get lucky tonight and this one would be peaceful too. For once he was tired of fighting.

Puck triangulated the Dark Moon senshi's location and slipped through the trees until he spotted her on a park bench. By now she surely must have felt his aura. He stepped out from the trees in plain sight, holding his hands open in a peaceful gesture. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you if you don't hurt me," he said calmly. "I got nothing against you lot. What are you doing here?"

Puck lowered his hands and gave the Dark Moon senshi a wry, lopsided smile. "Yeah, I'm out looking for Negaverse agents. They're my punching bags of choice." The White Moon senshi didn't move to defend himself as she approached him. "I've met a few of you lot, and have never had any trouble with any of you. You know, like wanting to fight or attacking me or anything like that. In fact, I rather liked the other Dark Moons I've met," he grinned.

Gesturing toward the bench, Puck made to move past her and taking a seat himself, inviting her to join him. "The one thing I've found about you Dark Moons is that you take everyone on their own merits, not which side they're on. Like I met a Dark Moon who was vehemently against what the Negaverse were doing, yet she wouldn't attack them unless they were causing problems. Unlike me, who punches on sight," he chuckled.

"Sorry about your plans, that sucks. Hate it when plans fall through. Though sometimes it turns out to be serendipitous, don't it?" He held out his hand to her. "I'm Puck of the Woods, by the way."

Puck grinned at Varda. "Victory, yeah? You would probably end up kicking my arse to the moon," he laughed, then sobered up again. "I know you lot drain energy from people, and I know why. And you're right, you do it for very different reasons than the Negaverse do. They're feeding their leader -- you Dark Moons do it for survival. I can't fault that, unless you kill when you do it, like the Negas. And I don't think you do. At least not that I've heard from the Dark Moons I've met." He smiled grimly. "Of course, you could be withholding the truth from me…"

He shook his dreadlocked head and sat back. "Nah, I doubt you're lying. Though from the sound of things, someone might need a bit of damage done to 'em," he nodded. "Lemme guess, random blokes hassling a lady friend of yours? I'd bloody well take them down too. You just don't do that kind of shite."

"Yeah, I'm a Super. We'll have to spar at some point, definitely test it out," Puck grinned back. He missed sparring, especially with Juno all those years ago; she was a good teacher since she was already battle-oriented, what with her capoeira moves. "If you're okay with that, I mean. Wouldn't want to give the wrong impression or anything."

Varda's powers, an adrenaline boost, sounded to Puck like a support move, and he nodded. "My powers are mainly entrapment in small manifestations of the woods. You know, the folkloric 'deep dark woods' an' shite. I build a cage of trees around 'em, so they can't use their powers and they can't escape -- not even by teleporting, like those bloody Negas can do. That's like a defensive type of move, but I'm a pretty offensive bloke," he laughed. "So I've learned some fighting techniques from other Senshis so I can attack them. The enemy, I mean. Attack the enemy."

He nodded. "I'd be more than happy to help you take care of those jerks harassing your friend. Bastards. They deserve whatever they get."

Puck also stood and smiled at the Dark Moon senshi. "I agree, I don't feel like I've wasted the evening either. And you've reaffirmed my opinions about you Dark Moon lot. Glad I could meet you too, Varda."

He stretched as well, feeling his back pop slightly. "I'll come looking for you when you level up," he grinned, "or you can look for me, and we can spar a bit. Though if you do roller derby, you may have the advantage," he added with a laugh. "I only know some second-hand capoeira, and I'm a bit out of practice. But all's fair in a fight, I feel. Like you said, trapping then attacking like with the way my magic works might not seem fair, but when survival's on the line, you do what you have to, fair or not." It was true, too, given how many close calls he'd had over the years.

"Draining people for survival is one thing," Puck added. "Draining people like the Negas do is something else entirely. What you lot do is acceptable -- what they do isn't. It's a fine line, but that's how it is. Speaking of which, I should probably continue my patrolling. And hope for a continued quiet night," he grinned.

Puck took the cue and fist-bumped Varda. "You stay safe out there and don't let any Negaverse agents get close -- they're bad news for a new senshi, even a Dark Moon like you,' he said, then added with a big grin, "though you got those roller derby moves to use on them." He tossed her a wink. "I'll be looking for you when you level up then."

With a wave in return, he bounded off into the night to resume his patrol, happy to have spoken with Varda. He was more convinced than ever that the Dark Moon Court largely meant him and his fellow Order senshi no harm. Maybe they could be allies some day.
