It was a simple few flaps of his wings that allowed for the easy landing within this open field that he had arrived in. Having been traveling for a while, he had found himself unlucky enough to be unable to find another sentient person for quite a while now. Something that cause him to feel exceptionally dull due to the lack of conversation. Perhaps he should start traveling in a group? Sakuni felt he had traveled quite a ways at this point, and yet had not come across that much that actually drew interest. His beak opened partially, as a sigh began to escape it. His wings folding up a little over his chest, as he begins to walk along a thin path that spread along the center of this open plains like area. He couldn't see much of interest around, so it would appear that simply taking the time to walk for a little while. Better to rest his wings for a while rather than continue to fly with no real direction to go. "Well.. I could always set up a stall or something here, if this path becomes more of a road.. Perhaps a bit of gambling or trading might make this plains area more suitable to travelers.. Not that there seem to be any other than me." Sakuni slowly rolls his shoulders, his feathers ruffling around him as he continues to walk slowly along the path. Yellow eyes glancing back and forth as he observes the area, awaiting any sign of life that may appear as he traveled along the area.

They had been traveling for a while now. He had just finished a mission that he was given and was promised some free time. So off he went as fast as his wolf Duke could run. Eli had lost track of time as they traveled from one area to the next. At one point they had arrived in the open fields which was vastly different from the forest they usually hunted in. Normally Eli would have stayed in the forest near home during his free time just in case the higher ups changed their minds. Which they usually did. But not this time, this time he had been ordered to disappear, leave the forest if he had to. Eli was told he had five to ten years to be free of his duties to his king and kingdom. He needed to get more wolves he was told it was not right the Duke be his only wolf especially since he used to have four more and Duke was use to a pack. The young elf laid down in some tall grass. He found it amusing that the grass here was about half a foot shorter than he was tall. With Duke at his side he fell asleep nothing was getting close without the wolf knowing. After some time passed Duke heard a sound and stood up waking Eli in the process. Eli sat up in time to see his wolf dart off to investigate. He then stood up so that he could see above the grass. A few yards away he could see a Ferimorph "Brother I don't think that bird is edible." He says jokingly as he begins walking towards this person. Eli could since Duke circle this new person cautiously. "Hello." He greets as he steps onto the narrow path several feet in front of this new person. It had been a while since he spoke to anyone other than his wolf.

Sakuni had been strolling along for a decent amount of time before he had decided that he had surely stretched his legs long enough. Of course the low growling heard from some nearby tall grass would immediately stop him in his tracks. Soon enough he was being circled by a decently bred wolf, one of which was certainly not the typical Ferimorph in Disguise that he was normally accustomed to. Sakuni's feathered eyebrow rose slightly as he observed the animal before hearing a greeting coming from the same location the wolf had come from. A young Elf emerging from the grass and approaching him. His beak would open slightly, the curves of a smile forming at the edges as he takes a step forward and sweeps himself into a low bow, a single yellow eye locked on the young Elf. "Why hello there! I am Sakuni, a traveling banking associate for G.R.A.T.E. The premier bank across all the realms!" He says as he quickly raises back to his full height and looks the Elf and their wolf over. "You seem to be an adventurer of sorts, and I have just the thing for you to keep your earnings safe during your travels!" He pauses momentarily, as if either for dramatic effect or to let what he had said sp far to sink in. "I have in my possession, a coin commonly known as a Fich. You can think of it as the equivalent of possessing twenty whole Gill in the place of a single coin! It lightens your coin Pouch, and makes those pesky higher valued transactions a counting breeze!" Sakuni continues as he reaches into a Pouch at his side and produces a single coin appearing very similar to the Gill, but possessing an extravagent fish along one side and the number twenty along the other. He would hold it up before the Elf as he continued speaking. "Now, since we are trying to get these coins out into circulation. I've been tasked with trading then to the travelers, merchants, adventurers and towns that I pass through. So you'll be seeing a lot more of them! I have probably.. Twenty five or so left, so if you want I will be willing to trade as many as you can for your Gill. I'd be doing you a favor, you'd be doing me a favor, and finally. The whole realm will be helped because of you!" Sakuni says as he empties twenty five coins from the Pouch in his hand and extended the hand outwards towards the Elf before him.

Eli would study the Ferimorph in front of him as he listened to the man speak. "G.R.A.T.E.? Never heard of it." He says as he raises his hand to the side. "Brother!" Almost immediately the wolf moved to the young elf's side. Eli then laid his hand on the wolfs back. "I am Eli and this one is Duke. Well that's what my people call him." He shrugs almost carelessly as the wolf continued to stare at Sakuni. "Hmm a traveler... I guess so for a few years anyway." He says with a slight smile even as his seemed to glare at Sakuni. Suddenly the wolf would walk away to vanish in the tall grass. Eli reached out a hand and took one of the Fich for a closer look. And thought back on his orders for this trip. He could almost here his king telling him how to spend the Gill. Three hundred was to go towards necessities, one hundred was for extras that he wanted and yes one a hundred was for gambling. The last one had surprised many of people. He pondered to himself was this an extra or a gamble. Probably a gamble as the man spoke of things that he had never heard of. If this guy was truthful these coins would lighten his load some. If it was a lie he would be foolishly handing over what little money he had. 'Finish it so we can hunt.' he mentally heard his wolf growl. Eli looked in the direction where Duke was and made a face. 'Hunt without me I'll join you soon.' he mind called back before returning his attention to Sakuni. The man had a job to do and he could always sell hides or something if the coin thing fell through. Why not he thought as he shifted a little. The young elf shrugs and pulls out his coin bag. "You said one fich was worth twenty Gill I'll take five just to help you a little and lighten my load some." He hand over the coin even though he had his doubts. At best he would not have lost anything and at worst he lost a hundred Gill either way he would learn a lesson when all was said and done.

G.R.A.T.E. The Global Resource and Treasury Empire. Considered to be the largest banking organization across the globe, hence the name." Sakuni chimes in with with a smooth wink of one of his yellow eyes, the moment Eli had questioned the abbreviation. He nodded immediately upon being informed the name of the Elf and their Wolf companion, while he slid several of the fich coins back into the Pouch in his other hand. It was a shame he couldn't gain more than a hundred Gill from this transaction, though he made sure not to allow that to show upon his feathered face. They had easily agreed to five coins so he would not force any further push to convince them to take more at this very moment. "Pleasure to meet the two of you! I don't come across Elves often, so it's a treat. As well, I'm happy you decided to help myself and the Realm! Should you feel the need to Exchange more, you can find myself or any local G.R.A.T.E. bank located in most major towns and cities." Sakuni says while returning the remaining fich coins to his side and retrieving the one hundred Gill from Eli and placing it into a separate Pouch. He was visibly cheerful at this point, his black and red feathers fluffed slightly around his neck and shoulders as he turns his attention momentarily to the area around them, actively looking to see if anyone else had decided to travel by that he could convince into another deal for him. "You said you were only planning on traveling for a few years? Is it an.. eh.. Secret Elven mission?" He asks, leaning in and raising a wing up to guard the side of his face as he half Whispers in Eli's direction.

Alary yawns and stretches as she walks down the road. It has been two full weeks she had left her hometown. All discouragement from her father shoved back into her mind. He had wanted her to make her living in the shrine. This was not a calling that she feels. Any other sibling she has would make a better devotee to the holy arts. Besides, she finds the idea unlikely to be a good fit personality wise. As a forest elf she craves nature. Why would spending her days within a cloister serving a Highlord that favors nature even make sense? No, something felt off about the idea and so she went with it. Besides, the Highlords, as her mother explained - as a cleric herself - were not deities, but more like superiorities and upper level beings tasked with making sure that things remained balanced. Not that they always get along. Before leaving her mother had given her a few words of advice on how to stay on their good side - avoid them or figure out what they like and dislike. That was about as much help as she got. Her father had given her no advice or anything since they waited for him to report to the shrine to help perform a resurrection. For now, a nice day and experiencing new things and meeting new people is enough for her until she can find a ranger enclave to train her. That is her main goal in life for the time being. That is kind of a tall order, unfortunately. So for now she practices hunting for herself and uses what traveling skills she has picked up on the way. That is to say, just sufficient enough to get from town to town. Alary has a long way to go. As the female elf makes her way down the road she notices to people discussing something and exchanging goods for items. 'A traveling merchant? This could be good. Maybe he has some arrows,' she thinks to herself. Smiling as she approaches him she notices the red feathered ferimorph. 'He's beautiful!' He has well preened feathers and a cleverness in his eyes. Suddenly she realizes that she has been staring at him. Ideas that she should only seek out a male elf evaporates from her mind as her world opens up more to the idea that maybe ferimorphs would make suitable spouses. As quickly as that idea hits her, she shoves it way back into her mind since she knows nothing about him yet. "Hi! What are you selling, Merchant?" She smiles over at Eli and then notices his wolf. "OH! He's adorable!" She reaches to pet the wolf.

Eli listens as Sakuni tells him about the name of the bank he works with. "My people don't often deal with outsiders which could explain whey I have never heard of it." He admits shrugging as wolf returns to his side to lay down near him. "A secret mission?" He asks dropping his gaze to Duke a moment before looking back at Sakuni. "No not really. In part it is suppose to be a vacation of sorts. But I do have to find more wolves preferably female to restore my pack. I use to have eight... Duke here is my last wolf, His father was the alpha of the pack. The others died on missions we weren't allowed time to heal between missions so my Highlord told me to leave the forest and get away from my people. As far as my people are concerned I am on a mission from the Highlord that is none of there business." He smirks even though there is sorrow in his eyes. When Duke growls a soft warning that someone was approaching he turns his head and spots a female forest elf coming towards them. He is slightly disappointed to see that she does not have an animal companion which means that she is not one of his people. Unless her animal died which was a sad and painful thing. His eyes would widen when she calls him merchant. But before he can respond she reaches out to pet Duke who snarls and snaps at her. Eli swiftly pushed her arm out of the way before the wolf could bite her. "NO!" He says as Duke melts into the tall grass. "You fool are you trying to lose a hand!" He demands coldly "Did no one ever teach you not to pet an animal you don't know?" Eli's green eyes blaze as he scolds this other elf for her stupidity. After a moment he forces himself to stop and take a breath. No one was harmed but that had been a close call "Duke only allows me to pet him and occasionally my sister. I am Eli and this is Sakuni he works for G.R.A.T.E. Bank. 'She thinks you are a merchant that's hilarious. But a way to earn Gill to buy what you need that four hundred you have won't last long.' He hears Duke say from his hiding place in the grass. 'She tries to pet me again my bite will not be a warning.' Anger is quickly replaced with amusement this lady thinks he is a merchant. "I do have things that I might be willing to sell let me check my stock to see what I have available." He says in a much gentler tone. 'She thinks you are adorable Brother.' He teases mentally. As he quickly goes through his supplies. 'I will bite you Brother.' the wolf silently growls 'I bite back' "Here we go." He says to Alary and turns his notebook so she can see it. Eli's Random Supplies * Dear hide 100 Gill 2 in stock * Rabbit Hide 50 Gill 4 in stock * Grenades 100 Gill 14 in stock * Arrows [5] 20 Gill 6 in stock * Dried Meat 30 Gill 4 in stock [Each pack has two servings]

Sakuni listened thoughtfully at the explanation of what exactly the reasoning was for Eli to have left his woodland home and ventured into this open field of all places. Of course, he had not managed to come across any spar wolves in his travels so far, so it would be difficult to help the male in that regard. It was a shame too, cause having a single wolf after losing so many was a sad concept to almost anyone, and that was especially true for an elf that was normally raising them. Sakuni slowly nodded his head at the male's words as they finished before a new arrival had caught his attention, another elf having shown up out of the grass of the fields and immediately approached the two of them. At first he assumed that they were speaking to him, as he was more of a merchant than the male before him, but sadly that did not seem to be the case, as even after scolding them about touching the wolf, they would still begin the act of preparing trade options between the two of them. "My oh my, no elves are just showing up all over the place! Pleasure to bump into you, Miss. I see you're looking for a merchant, and this suitable fellow has some items to sell, so I will gladly step aside and allow the two of you to take care of business." Sakuni says as he takes a sliding step backwards and gracefully bows in greeting towards Alary as she walked forward and began interacting with both Eli and his wolf companion. Sakuni's sharp yellow eyes glancing back and forth at both the interaction and any possible trades that may go on while he was around. Seeing as he intended to be a traveling merchant as well, it would help to see how people come about noticing one over a normal traveler. Especially since he knew that Eli had not mentioned anything about being a merchant, as well as they seemed to lack the full understanding of important things such as money value. "If it's not too much trouble, once you're done with your trading and what not. I would like to offer you the same exchange that I just finished with Eli here. Lessen your coin purse by exchanging your extra Gill for a simple Fich. They equal out to be twenty of a standard Gill, and are both widely accepted and with luck, exceptionally sought after currency across the realms." Sakuni begins, going over his sales pitch yet again to a new customer, or at least that was the way he was going about such things. The more Fich coins he could get into the population, the better the world was right?

Alary withdraws her hand as Eli intervenes. "Oh, sorry about that. I'm not used to wolves that aren't friendly." She shrugs and pulls a nut out of her pocket and makes a light clicking noise with her tongue. Out of her bag pops a fox sized squirrel. "Meet mimi." She smiles at both Eli and Sakuni and then takes Eli's inventory list. After pondering a moment she says, "I'd like to buy some arrows off of you." She then reaches into her pocket and offers him the money for all of the arrows. Soon after Sakuni pipes up with his own offer. "Ah, yes, I thought you might be a merchant. You were the one I was originally addressing as merchant. It seems that I have lucked out in finding two on the road." She listens to his sales pitch concerning something called Fich. She ponders on this a bit. "Oh my. I guess some areas do not use the same currencies then. Hm. Maybe a few. I need to keep some Gill for the shrines. I am uncertain if any of them deal with anything particularly modern." She reaches into her money pouch once more and hands him about sixty Gill. "I will buy three. If nothing else because it might be smart to keep a bit of each kind of coin." She looks at her remaining Gill and then tucks it away. It would also be wise to try to watch the remainder for other possible needs. "Would either of you know where the nearest town might be? I am in search of a ranger enclave or at least a ranger to take me on as an apprentice."

Eli chuckles softly "I am no merchant I don't even care about the money." He admits not even attempting to take her Gill but he still gives her some of his arrows. "Here take the arrows I have plenty and can make more." He grins and shoves the paper back into his bag. "I apologizes for that, Hello Mimi a pleasure to meet you." After handing over thirty arrows he glances in the direction of his wolf. "It's not that Duke is unfriendly he just does not like to be petted. Especially by people who are not related to me. As for a town no I haven't seen any yet I doubt I would find more wolves in or near a town. So I have not been looking for them" He shrugs and looks back at the squirrel for a second wondering what uses the animal would have for a ranger. "Sorry not much help on the ranger either I have only run into two people since I left my hometown." He looks back at Alary and smiles slightly "I might be able to help with your archery but that would be it I hunt when needed. But I must find more wolves and rebuild my pack." 'Found old tracks.' He suddenly hears in his head. 'How old and what kind?' he mentally asks back but does not receive a reply. He sighs softly his wolf could be annoying at times. "Pardon me Duke has found something he wants me to check out." He then walks off into the grass heading to where Duke called him to. He wondered if the other two would follow him or not.

Miuti slipped through the tall grasses, her spotted fur blending in with the dappled green and gold. She travelled in feline form, only the small pack strapped to her giving away her true nature.
The young feline had slipped away from her tiny home village a two days ago with little fanfare. She was eager to see the wider world. After she left the shelter of the deep forest, Miuti passed a through a region of farmland with surly, taciturn people who didn't take kindly to outsiders, particularly Ferimorphs. Miuti had had to high tail it out of there after a couple chickens went missing. It galled her that the farmers had blamed her even though she know, for a fact, that they had no evidence against her. She knew this because she'd been very careful to leave no evidence.
And now she seemed to be in an open grassland. A sound broke her reverie - voices! There were multiple voices and scents, male and female, but too jumbled to give a clear picture. The feline circled around and approached downwind, just in case they were unfriendly. She hesitated - should she approach? Would they welcome a stranger? Or would they attack? But what was the point of setting out into the world if she ran away from every new thing?
Shifting to a more humanoid shape, the diminutive shadow stalker pushed her way through the tall grasses, and almost walked right into someone else walking the other way.
"Sorry!" she yelped, backing up and falling ungracefully on her backside. "I didn't think anyone.. I mean.. I realize you were uh... there.." she faltered, looking up to see the person - or the persons - she had stumbled into.

"Shikijo" Katsurugi - Formorian [Demon] - Mage [Student] An escape or an opportunity? A strange portal to the land of mortals appeared in the Hellscape, and curiosity had gotten the better of Katsurugi. She felt an urging to walk through this door, and so she did. Into the blinding light that caused her to close her eyes and cover them in instinct, and out into a sunny field. While it lacked the comfort of the evil realm she called home, the grassy plane had all of the potential to be corrupted and turned to her desires. Though, the Demonic Sorceress' attention was pulled away from her designs and malign scheming to the sounds of conversation. Upon approaching the group, Katsurugi noticed a feline-like humanoid who had obviously stumbled into one of the two of the three present. The others seemed different from one another as well, clearly unrelated. The Demoness did not speak initially, she simply nodded to Alary before reaching down to Miuti and offering a hand to them to help them up off the ground. Her act of kindness was not out of benevolence, but a show of good-faith that she would not have to draw upon her magics and attempt things more forcefully. "Well I would find it unnecessary to keep both, seeing as one is only equal to a greater number of the other. Yet I cannot persuade you on how tidy to keep a purse of coins!" Sakuni says with a light chuckle through his partially closed beak as he withdrawls and hands over the three Fich coins to Alary before pocketing the handful of Gil he had been given in a separate pouch. His gaze glancing from one to the other as the other transaction goes into place before the female he had just done business with asks about nearby towns and the male bounds off after their wolf towards whatever the wolf had apparently found. He rolled his shoulders slightly and turned his yellow eyes upon Alary. "I haven't seen one yet, but I am sure that if we were to continue down this path we would come across a living establishment eventually. They tend to pop up all over, and I as well need to make my way to one." His yellow gaze soon snapping in the direction that the male had gone, as a yelp and immediate conversation could be heard in a short distance away. His gaze narrowing slightly as he focuses in on the two through the tall grasses, or at least what he could see from this ground based position. A light sniff of the air confirmed that there was no blood having been spilt, so at least combat had not come to arrive just yet. A good thing, to be certain. Soon after a curious creature had come into contact with them, passing between the two groups and pausing momentarily to help the fallen feline ferimorph to their feet. It would seem that these plains were certainly becoming more active, which was a perfect situation for him! He nodded his head towards Alary before turning and beginning to head towards the two new arrivals. A few more Gil in his purse would never be a bad continuation to the day!

Alary smiles at Eli and replies, "Thank you. Are you sure?" When he gets distracted by Duke's discovery she takes this as a sign that he is sure and tucks the arrows into her bare quiver. Mimi pips and chatters from her shoulder, causing her to nod. 'There certainly are quite a variety of people here.' The squirrel pips again, 'Not just the bird and the elf boy. Look a cat ferimorph and a formorian.' Alary blinks in their directions. 'Okay, I get the ferimorph, they're hard not to recognize, but what makes you think the woman is a formorian? It's not like she looks anything like the ones in the text books. She looks human.' Mimi pips indignantly and jumps back into her bag. "Hello," she greets the other two as Sakuni moves his attention towards them.
