Varda watched from above as her mirrorwraith slowly gathering energy from below. It was times like this that she wondered what she was supposed to do with her powers. Collect energy, yes. Fight Senshi or others if they attacked, yes. But what else? And there didn't appear to be that many Dark Mirror Senshi out there from what she could tell. Or at least she wasn't meeting with many of them. Was there some communication platform that they used, that wasn't mirrors, that she just didn't know about? It was a bit frustrating because while she did have some questions answered by Remarque, she didn't want to bother him with everything. But also she didn't really know any other Dark Mirror Senshi to ask her questions to, so they didn't get answered unless she stumbled upon it herself! She sighed and leaned back a bit, using the palms of her hands to steady herself, letting her Mirrorwraith continue to fill itself. Was she here all by herself tonight?!

Like many things in Destiny City, it didn’t take much to change everything. One second, Varda was alone.
The next, there was a very familiar ripple of energy from very nearby--a Dark Mirror Senshi, no doubt passing through one of the hidden mirrors and stepping from one realm to the next.
Arnica had intended to just take a shortcut to get here and get a head start on some of his energy gathering but the distinct feeling of another Dark Mirror Senshi immediately attracted his attention more than stalking through the darkness and looking for suitable candidates to drain energy from.
Super Sailor Arnica had been working hard--sort of--and it’s not like this was totally a social visit. He didn’t like Mirrorspace that much, and needed to cleanse his palate. And, what better way to do that than with another Dark Mirror Senshi?
She wasn’t hard to find; he took a few twists and turns, climbed a little higher, and all of a sudden he could see what he was feeling.
A stranger, but that really wasn’t anything new. He raised a hand in greeting and smiled. “Hey,” he greeted. “I didn’t expect to find another Dark Mirror Senshi out here. I don’t think we’ve met,” he noted, though was pretty sure he’d remember a face like hers. “You want some company?”

She shouldn't have been surprised when the aura started to get closer, but she still was and this time it was another Dark Mirror Senshi, one she had never met before. Though she was still cautious, after all every group usually had one or more bad apples in it, she was still happy to get to meet another one. She raised her own hand back. "Company sounds good tonight. I'm just letting my little wraith drain some energy and have it's fill before I go." She looked down and it didn't appear to have changed from when she had first let it out. Just how slow were these things? "I don't believe we have met. Though I haven't met a lot of Dark Mirror senshi myself. I'm Varda of Victory. What about you?" She said, while also patting part of the edge near her in case the Senshi wanted to sit.

He approached, keen to cross the distance between the two of them so he wasn’t shouting. When he got close, he answered, “Arnica, Mandragora. Nice to meet you. I’ve been slacking a bit, I think. Seems like every Dark Mirror Senshi I come across is new to me. You'd think, with as long as I’ve been around, that I’d be a little more on top of things but,” he sighed and planted his hands on his hips.
“Guess life has been taking a toll for a while now. You been a part of the Court for a while, or…?” He blinked, and then clarified, “Don’t feel obligated to answer or anything, I’m a journalist. Sometimes, at least. The questions just sort of roll out.”
He shrugged, seeming comfortable with either being answered or ignored, but he had an easy-going, good nature about him and didn’t seem particularly worked up.

"Mandragora?" She would have to look that up later. Was probably a plant or something though. She smiled. "It's nice to meet you too." She was surprised to hear that he had been in there so long. She could only guess that this had been going on for a while. But if it had, then why did the Dark Mirror have so few if it wasn't relatively new? Or was it? She shook her head in response. "About... a quarter of a year at this point? Maybe a bit more than that, but I haven't been in all of this for long. Got recruited in the winter and then kind of just waited till the weather became warmer, you know?". She said laughing a little. "Journalist is an interesting career. I'm aiming to be a Police Detective myself, so I feel you on the questions." She said. She had about a year to go still. As much as she would have liked to join right away, she had found those that did... needed a lot more "training" is all she could say. "You just don't power up regularly or was it the winter blues? I wouldn't blame you for either, just that the cold makes it a lot easier to just stay inside."

Arnica blinked. “A quarter of a year? That’s next to no time, you’re still pretty new, huh?” He raised his hands quickly. “No offense meant, or anything, I’m just surprised. It’s nice to hear that the Court’s still growing. It’s not like we get together often to check in on each other. I get texts every now and then from Remarque, I just sort of assume he checks in on everyone he knows? But then, I did get stuck with him for a while in some weird,” he gestured vaguely, “Monster world.”
Three months ago though, she wouldn’t even have been awakened back when they were dealing with that thing.
“Oh, I powered up, just seems like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and missed all the fun. Not a fan of the cold though, just saying. How are you liking it so far, this whole ‘Dark Mirror’ thing?”

She giggled. "None taken. I know I'm new. I've only met a few of the Dark Mirror Senshi so it's not too surprising that we haven't met." It was a bit disheartening though. It seemed that the other Senshi was enthusiastic about there being more, but she wondered if there were so few joining that there just really weren't that many to begin with. "A monster world?" She didn't know if she was interested of trying to decide never to try to go to it herself. "Well, I can't say that I would have missed going there myself." She said with a chuckle. For now she was glad that she had missed it. Perhaps when she was a Super like he was she would have less qualms about going to some different, monster-filled world. She nodded. "Makes sense. And yeah, cold is no fun. I would definitely rather be wrapped up in a blanket inside then out in the cold." She thought about his last question before answering. "I don't have any qualms about it. I wish there were more Dark Mirror Senshi meetings or that I knew more. And I wish I could go to Mirrorspace without having to have someone else take me, but alas," she shrugged "That's just not a thing, though it's understandable. I haven't really found anything to dislike about it, but I guess I'm just not sure where to go with it, you know? Like yeah, I can grow stronger, drain more energy for the Dark Mirror, but what comes after that? White Moon Senshi fight for civilian's lives, Corrupt Senshi try to drain energy for evil, I guess I'm just not sure where we're going with all of this." She wasn't sure if it was something she was supposed to admit out-loud or just keep to herself, but it was too late to think about it now.

He waved his hand, a bit dismissively. “You didn’t miss much there, anyway, so I’m glad you didn’t get sucked in. So far as I can tell, everyone made it out, but I don’t know if we ever figured out what the monster keeping us there even wanted.”
Just another unsolved mystery, and one he doubted he’d ever have the opportunity to collect more information on now that it was over.
“I can ask Remarque if he plans on hosting anything, he might have more answers. He had an answer for every question I had, so maybe he’d have one for you, too? At the very least, I know he’s always going into Mirrorspace. I’m still sort of new to it, but. That’s something you are missing out on, though. Lot of mysteries in there. Dangerous, though, to go alone. Remarque says it’s easy to get lost, and you never know what you’ll find. But,” he shrugged. “If you ever want to go exploring, you should let me know. Maybe that’ll help open your mind up to what we’re doing, or why we do what we do? --Because, I’m just saying, you’ve got all this power, you’re free to make it your own. You can fight for civilian’s lives. Fight youma. We don’t drain energy for evil--have you ever seen the Mirrorscape? --Bunch of floating islands, big black tower in the middle?”

She smirked. "Well, glad I didn't miss much then. But that's interesting. It sounds like even the Negaverse didn't know about it? That means there's more out there than just us. I mean Dark Mirror, Knights, Senshi, and the Negaverse." It made her wonder if there were different types of powers out there, ones they just hadn't been able to unlock yet. "I'd appreciate it. All of it. I've met Remarque so I know he'd be willing to help. And I would love to go exploring. Even if it is dangerous, I can't really call myself a Dark Mirror Senshi if I don't go into Mirrorspace." She tilted her head at the question. "Mirror-scape? No. How is that different from Mirrorspace? Isn't it all just a part of Mirrorspace?" Now the names were starting to get confusing. They couldn't have at least named it something that wasn't MirrorS?

Arnica just laughed softly and shook his head. “I don’t think we got a say in naming mechanics. But you’ll get used to it,” he promised. “It’s not so hard once you dip your toes into it. The Mirrorscape is a place in Mirrorspace. You’ll know where you’re at immediately when you get there. It’s different from Mirrorspace. Mirrorspace is white, and mirrors everywhere, and long hallways that lead nowhere--or somewhere, you can’t really tell the difference. But the Mirrorscape, you step through a mirror, and you’re on this platform, and there’s this big, black tower--and all around you, it’s empty space. Like being up in the sky. Only, there are little islands that float around. You can pick one out, one that no one else has claimed yet, and make it your own.”
He shrugged. “I haven’t spent much time there,” he admitted, “But I’m not much for that sort of thing. I like finding stories, telling stories, understanding the world. Not so much building some safe space. I mean, yeah, I guess one day, but. I guess I have to slow down first. For now, there’s too many mysteries calling me. Like, ‘what more is out there’. If there’s more out there.”

A black tower and little islands? Her face became confused. "I feel like I have even more questions than before." She said laughing a little. "I suppose it will make more sense when I finally get to see it, though what's the black tower for? Sounds mysterious." Did they do anything inside of it? Did they get to live there? Well, she guessed no to the last one considering Mirrorspace seemed to reject them already. She nodded. "That makes sense. I find all of this interesting too but..." She hesitated. She had been told that the Dark Mirror were generally nice and like family, but could she really say such a thing? Well, she had talked to that Eternal already about all of this. "I guess I don't understand what the Dark Mirror are supposed to be doing since I've heard we get rejected from Mirrorscape. It seems like the Dark Mirror aren't supposed to have happened but they have and haven't been fully accepted by their own "home", you know?" She put home in finger quotes and then when she ended it sighed. "It's not that I don't want to be here, but just like... what do I do you know?"

Arnica laughed softly in response. “Always more questions before the answers. To be honest, the tower is a little ominous, but it’s never done anything bad, so far as I can tell? It’s just there.”
He planted his hands on his hips as he shifted positions. “Can’t say much for being rejected by Mirrorspace. I’ve never been kicked out. I wasn’t able to slow down when I was passing through the mirror to reach Mirrorspace until I got a little stronger, but I don’t think that counts as getting kicked out. Although,” he looked upwards and seemed to consider it. “Remarque did say that if you stayed for too long, you’d lose the energy to ground yourself and wind up back outside of the mirror. But,” he shook his head. “If we’re being honest, I think it’s because Mirrorspace isn’t stabilized enough. I think it’s because we need to make sure it’s strong enough to support us. That’s why we gather energy, why we try to build what we can. I don’t think it’s that Mirrorspace hasn’t accepted us--I think it’s that it’s broken, and we have to fix it.”

Varda had suspicious about the tower, but until she could see it for herself she wouldn't be able to come to any solid conclusions. Or she may even come back with more questions and MORE suspicions! Either way, a big black tower that no one knew anything about couldn't be good. She considered the rest of his description though. "It does make sense... not that I can say that I've been able to look at it long myself." She said with a laugh. "But that is something to think about at least. And does give the incentive to drain more energy as compared to just draining it because we need it for our powers." Why they needed energy to power it up was another mystery. "Still, I hope we would be able to see some changes. I've heard we're pretty small in number though, so we might have to gather a lot more Dark Mirror if we want that to happen." Yet another obstacle that she couldn't fix herself. It wasn't dis-heartening, but the goal still seemed so far away, as though a couple of lifetimes would be needed instead of even just one. She smiled at Arnica. "Thanks, that makes me feel better about all of this. I may not have known what I was getting into when I was invited into the mirror, but at least now I know that we have a goal in mind and aren't just doing this because."

Arnica laughed a bit. “No, there’s no ‘just because’. The other option is that you could have been a White Moon Senshi, and then the Negaverse would have hunted you down and tried to kill you. Really, from what I know, we have the best of all of them. There’s no great evil controlling us, forcing us to do her bidding. I’ve heard it said about the White Moon and the Negaverse both, you know. But not us. We have all of the power, but none of the servitude. I’ve never been given a command. I’ve asked for guidance, but that’s obviously a different story.”
He shrugged. “I’ve got the power I need to stay safe--to keep the people close to me safe. It’s a small price to pay, to send out a few wraiths and gather energy from people with more than enough to spare. The more energy we gather, the more Mirrorspace has. Maybe, the more that’ll open up for us. Remarque’s said as much--that there’s so much in there. He said he’s gotten lost for hours and it’s never the same path twice. But the Common room, the Throne room--those are always there for us. Those don’t move. So maybe, if we get enough energy, we’ll be able to find more paths that are concrete. More places waiting for us. When you’re up to it, we should go explore Mirrorspace. I want to get a little stronger, but. I want to see. He’s described things, places--things I’ve never seen. I don’t want to always bother him, but I’d like some company. If you’re interested.”

"Doesn't sound like the Negaverse are really worth being okay with either." She said from what she had heard and remembered when meeting them. "I definitely prefer not being a target every time I go out, at least for Negaverse Agents. I have gotten attacked on sight by a White Moon Senshi though." And he had destroyed her wraith as well. As much as she enjoyed fighting the Senshi herself, she was much more careful about leaving her wraith out now. She chuckled. "It would be a lot more helpful if there were more defined paths. And I would like to take you up on your offer. I'm definitely willing to go exploring sometime, just have to find the time in my schedule to do so, but when I do have it, I can message you?"
