Atheneite was a bit nervous, she hated having meetings. It remaindered her of waiting for a parent teacher conference, it left her anxious and agitated all day. This was worse, at least with those it was people she had no respect for so she could at least try to ignore them but today she was meeting up with one of the General Sovereigns. A person even stronger than her General. She didn't know much about the man nor did she know how exactly one got to become some powerful. She didn't think it was hereditary like most normal monarchies, no she was pretty sure it was a meritocracy which she had alot more respect for. Whatever this man had done he had earned his metaphorical crown.
Taking a deep breath the 17 year old steadied herself. It wasn't like she was in trouble, this was just a check in with her superior. Besides she had meet Axinite once before, sure it had been in a room with a bunch of other agents and senshi and she hadn't actually talked to him but still she had meet him. So She accepted her summons appearing in Negaspace. She knocked on the door to the man's office.
It was a comfortable office, not exactly what Atheneite would have expected from a warrior king. It looked more like a principals office, a sight Atheneite was all too familiar with, than the headquarters of one of the leaders of the Negaverse but she supposed she was no one to judge his taste in décor.
"Hello...Um am I supposed to call you your majesty?" She asked bowing her head a little bit in greeting. She didn't know the protocol for meeting a General King. She hoped he didn't expect her to curtsy anything. "Thanks for the meeting."

Axinite sat at his desk, a cup of tea carefully located at the corner and placed to be within reach, but not at risk of any accidental spillage. He was scrolling through his tablet, looking like he might have been trying to cross reference some information on the papers in front of him and the database he was accessing. As soon as she entered, he offered a quick smile and it seemed like his attention immediately shifted. He folded the tablet up, returning it to its pen form, and sat it down atop the stack of papers.
"Atheneite,” he greeted, “It’s my pleasure, really. I’m happy to have you here. Please come in, have a seat.”
He gestured to the chairs in front of the desk. “You can call me Axinite, no need for such formalities. Make yourself comfortable--can I get you anything? Cookies? A drink?”
There was a platter of fresh cookies on his desk, with a glass covering to keep them fresh. He seemed ready to reach behind him, as if he meant to either pour her a glass of tea or reach into the little mini-fridge behind his desk and pull her out one of his many healthy options.

"Thanks." Atheneite said taking a seat, a bit relieved at the informal atmosphere. "Um sure." she said taking one of the offered cookies. "Tea if you don't mind. Thanks." She hated how British she was sometimes, but tea was delicious especially black tea.
"So uh Axinite, what did you want to talk to me about?" She asked. While she appreciated the niceties and comforts she would prefer to get down to business so that she could stop worrying about it.

Axinite answered even as he rose from his desk to fetch a teacup and pour a cup of fresh tea for her. “Nothing nefarious,” he assured. “Quite the opposite. I’m sorry if I worried you. I actually wanted to give you a bit of praise and talk about your accomplishments. You were away in England for a while. I read the reports, it sounds like there was nothing but praise for your efforts. I’m sure you know how important accurate and thorough information is to me. The backlog over there was obscene. What a mistake to send them so much,” he sighed, and then sat back down and passed the tea over. “But I’m glad you were able to help them. And, since your return, you’ve shown yourself to be quite capable. Tell me, if you don’t mind me asking, how do you feel about your current position? Where do you think your strengths and weaknesses lie?”

Atheneite felt her cheeks heat up at the General King's compliment. She looked down at her lap for a moment, a bit embarrassed at the King's words. She wasn't used to receiving praise, at least not without some harsh critique of her behavior or attitude. "Thank you sir, I just tried to do the work I was given." She said rubbing the back of her head. In all honesty she had hated that work especially when she first went to England. She had wanted to do nothing more than smash some heads but she was just given a bunch of paper work. She supposed she did eventually get used to it and apparently she had been pretty good at it so she guessed it hadn't been all bad.
"Um well I really like working for the Negaverse, it all feels right. But I guess I do wish I was stronger. I see captains and generals and I really want to be that strong one day." She admitted. She wasn't really a fan of self reflection but she supposed if it was a general king asking she could give it some thought.
"I suppose a strength would be my fighting, I'm pretty good at brawling and I can take hits and keep going. As for weakness, well I don't really like working with others also I haven't really found a good way to deal with magic." She thought back to the senshi who stopped her with some horrible illusion fire or the knight who made it seem like he back the dead back to life, she didn't have a good counter to either of those.

Axinite seemed in a pleasant mood and smiled. “Thank you, I appreciate your candidness. Dealing with magic is something that will come in time, but I’m afraid to say that it seems like something new is always popping up. Senshi magic is so unpredictable.” He sighed, like this was a personal annoyance of his own, but he wasn’t dwelling on that. “I confess, I’m a bit saddened to hear that you aren’t able to work well with others. You know, as a Captain, you’ll have Lieutenants that look up to you, that need your guidance and leadership. You’ll have other officers you have to coordinate with on important missions. I’m wondering if this is something you’re prepared to work on?”

Atheneite nodded in agreement. "Stronger knights too." At least knights seemed to come in groups so you could have an idea of what their magic was about but even then the specifics of the magic seem to vary greatly from knight to knight. She'd have to give some thought to how to deal with it, she would of course have to remain flexible but there was surely some general fighting strategy that could be employed to deal with the problem.
"Well I mean it's not that I 'can't' I've done it in the past but I really don't like it." She quickly clarified. "I learned from past experience if I work with others, if I trust others they always let me down. I've just found it alot easier and safer to work on my own." The young lieutenant admitted. "But if I need to work my team work to advance then I will." She said with determination. She wanted and needed that strength, she would do anything to get it.

Axinite mulled this over for a minute longer before he nodded. It seemed like he was still considering something, but he finally settled. “I’m willing to give you a chance, then. You’ve proved yourself thus far, but moving forward, teamwork is going to be mandatory. I want you to work on that. I want you to try working with a team. You need to find people you can trust, because people are going to be looking up to you. They’re going to trust you. So it’s going to be your job to guide them. I need you to find a way to have a little faith in them, and to help teach them so they don’t let you down.” He wasn’t nagging, wasn’t reprimanding--just speaking clearly. “...But you seem willing enough to try, and for that alone, I’d like to help you make the next step.” He rose from behind his desk and moved to stand in front of her. “I want you to leave my office tonight as Captain Atheneite. Do you have any objections?”

"Really?" This was the best news she could have heard. Truth be told from all her time in England she had more or less given on ever receiving a promotion. But now she would finally be one step closer to obtaining the power she had seen. "Yes sir I promise I'll do my best with that."
"I don't have any objections at all. What do I need to do?" She was on her best behavior now with the promise of more power on the way. She couldn't believe her luck. She was going to be made a captain, it would mean a real weapon not her dinky baton. It would mean the ability to teleport. It would mean an increase in her enhanced strength.

He seemed relieved to have her approval, and nodded. He wore a small, professional smile, and moved to stand in front of her. “You need only trust me, and brace yourself. I am afraid that power comes with a price, and the strain can be uncomfortable on your body. But I am here. I will make sure you are taken care of. When this is over, I have drinks--coffee, energy drinks, water, juice. I have fruit, and sweets, they’ll help you recover.” He gave her a moment to do as he asked; he waited for her to prepare herself and then, when she was ready, he slipped his hand into her chest. He was an expert at this, no doubt; his fingers curled around her starseed with such skill that it was almost not even unpleasant. Until he pumped the Chaos into her. There was no way to ease the discomfort or pain of a promotion, so he simply tried to do it as quickly and effectively as possible to spare her what he could.
