Scrabble -- Totally not a 'cool' hobby but that doesn't change the fact that he's got three different editions of the official Scrabble dictionary tucked away in his room. He always liked words and got into competing in spelling bee's as a child. Once he was old enough to not chew on pieces or loose them his parents introduced him to the wonderful world of Scrabble and he's been addicted ever sense. He played in tournaments while in high school but has had to take a break from that because of preparing for collage. It's more important to him to focus on his schoolwork than scrabble tournaments. He does still like to play tournament style when he plays just for the extra challenge.
Psychology -- After you've written a thesis paper on a subject you'd call it a hobby too >( . Lysander wants to be a Psychologist when he's done with college and absolutely loves the subject. He's fascinated by how people's minds work and with how complicated the human mind can be. He likes studying how people can be influenced by outside forces on an emotional level and how nature vs nurture influences development. He is currently enrolled in classes working toward his Masters and plans to start his own practice doing relationship counseling once he gets his PhD
People Watching -- Associated with his above love of Psychology Lysander will go to the mall just to sit on a bench (with a good supply of Starbucks of course) and watch whoever happens to walk by. He thinks you can learn a lot about people by what they do when they believe everyone is watching them. He doesn't really do this officially as a study, unless he's working on schoolwork, and it's more of a casual thing. To him it's a good way to relax and learn at the same time. He prefers to spend his people watching time alone but will occasionally take a good friend or two along.
Golf-- Lysander started playing golf at a pretty young age. His father figured it would be an easy way to keep an eye on the kid while he still got to play with his business buddies. He hasn't really ever taken it seriously and mostly plays for fun but he's pretty good at it. He played on the team in highschool but has mostly given up playing since starting collage except for games his father drags him to for 'networking'. Playing as a child, and often carrying around his fathers gear, is wear he earned the nickname "Caddie" which he hates with a passion.
Pros:
"Don't you want to say you were there?"Busybody-- Lysander wants to be where things are going on and wants to be front and center with whatever is 'happening'. He has to keep up with the latest gossip and pretty much has his nose in everyone's business somehow. He keeps a network of friends, who he doesn't really like much, just so he isn't out of touch on anything going on in his social circle and beyond.
"I've been working on this for six years"Dedicated -- Once he has set his mind something he will see it through to the end no matter what the end may be. There is no half way with Lysander. He never 'tries' something. He does it and he does it until he's gone as far as humanly possible. This has made him an oddly studious student despite his rather flippant appearance and attitude otherwise. Everyone assumes he's just the local playboy and usually gets a shock when they realize he graduated high school with top honors.
Cons:
"Hubris what now?"Obstinate -- Lysander thinks he's right. All the time. What's the point of believing or doing something if it's not right, right? He tends to trample over other people's opinions if they don't agree with him or just outright ignores that they had an opinion at all. This usually results if others not sharing their opinion with him and letting him run himself straight into trouble hoping (vainly) that it will teach him a lesson and make him change his mind.
"Temper, temper."Anger Management needed -- When Lysander gets angry, and he can get that way pretty easily, he is a force to be reckoned with and not in a good way. His anger makes him completely irrational and he is prone to lash out (mostly verbally) against those around him including friends if they're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Once you make Lysander angry it is -very- hard to get him to forgive you. He has also been known to go out of his way to get 'revenge' on people he's angry with so dont' think that you're immune because it would be too much trouble to deal with you. He'll stay mad and he'll pay you back for it eventually.
Attack #1 - Arachne's Venom! [Arachne cups his hands over each other and a ball of violent green energy starts to grow between his palms. Once enough energy is collected the orb is throw at an enemy. Once struck the enemy takes the effect of the harsh acid burning into their skin and clothing ((Note: The balls can only get about the size of a baseball. They work on the same basis of an Orb of Acid spell in dnd and strikes that connect burn so long as the acid is still on skin or clothing. The acid can burn clothing/fabrics and cause minor burns if it contacts skin.))]
Duration: Instantaneous, the orbs must be thrown within one post or Arachne risks burning himself. Avoidable: Yes. Arachne must throw the balls himself so they're only as good as his aim. Downside: If Arachne can't throw the ball within a post of it's creation the acid orb will begin to burn his own hands
Attack #1a - Arachne Venomous Wish! [Arachne cups his hands over each other and a ball of violent green energy starts to grow between his palms. Once enough energy is collected the orb is throw at an enemy. Once struck the enemy takes the effect of the acid burning into their skin and clothing. ((Note: The balls can only get about the size of a softball. Now the acid can not be removed from whatever surface they strike and continue to cause burns. The orbs can also now cause splash effects. Near-by targets (enemies and allies take a weaker form of damage equivalent to the weaker version of the attack. This attack can be done twice per battle then Arachne is reduced to his base attack.))]
Duration: Instantaneous, the orbs must be thrown within one post or Arachne risks burning himself. Avoidable: Yes. Arachne must throw the balls himself so they're only as good as his aim. Downside: If Arachne can't throw the ball within one posts of it's creation the acid orb will begin to burn his own hands. The orbs splash effects can also harm allies if they are close to the point of impact
Attack #2 - Widow's Kiss Arachne holds his hands out in front of him and the misty form of a spider appears in his hands. The spider drops from his hands and skurries across the battle field toward his opponents, intent on sinking it's fangs into their flesh. ((Note: Arachne can only hit one target with the attack. The ethereal spider disappears once it's bitten its target.))
Venom Effects: An opponent poisoned by the spider's venom suffers the following effects over the course of five posts:
1st post following attack: Opponent feels sharp, intense pain at the site of the bite; enough to be an instant distraction before the pain fades away, making it seem as though the attack was nothing at all. 2nd: At first it seems as if the attack was nothing more than the bite and then over the course of the post Arachne's opponent should begin to feel drained, as if their strength is being sapped away by the bite's poison. Attacks and abilities requiring large amounts of energy seem harder to use. 3rd: The delay is over and Arachne's attack now reaches its full peak. Arachne's opponent is now unable to use the full extent of their magical attacks/abilities/enhancements entirely. Stronger opponents (S3 to S4) may still be able to utilize one of their lower level magical attacks, but are generally out of power to do more than attack physically otherwise. 4th: By this post Arachne's opponent starts to feel some of their strength returning. 5th: At this point the effects should have worn off completely, save for a throbbing reminder at the place of the spider's bite.
**effects may last longer at player's discretion, or if the duration has been pre-plotted, lasting up to five minutes OR until both Arachne and/or his opponent have powered down

When and where were you awakened Arachne was awakened in Mayet around a year and a half ago.
What have you been doing for the past X years? Arachne has been spendng his evenings figuring out what this whole 'magical dude' thing is about, testing his powers away from prying eyes and keeping an eye out for anyone else who may be like him. He spends quite a bit of time on rooftops keeping an eye out for anyone else in a 'uniform'.
