He should have changed sides by now, and he knew it, but it was still so hard letting go of his family and his life. Even if he didn’t always get along well with his parents it was still a hard idea to grasp. To leave them without a clue what had happened to him...to never be able to one day resolve their issues. It wasn’t easy so he’d stayed as he was, just refusing to power up, as long as he could in order to spend time with them. It was his silent way of trying to give them happy moments with him, moments which would become memories of their missing son.
It was his way of giving them something, a gift of sorts, before he vanished on them. It was the best he could do because he couldn’t tell them the truth, and he wouldn’t leave some suicide note or some other bullshit for them to find once he went missing.
So he’d spent his time with them, went out shopping, helped his mother at the grocery store, he’d done everything he could while keeping his ink hidden and his piercings filled with retainers so people didn’t see what her son really looked like. He’d hidden how he really looked in order to please her. He’d gone golfing with his father, though he still never saw the point in smacking a ball around a field and chasing after it like an idiot. He let his father scold him, gently, for hacking at the grass and creating rather impressive divots.
He’d even gone so far as finding names of baby names and left them for Wolframite along with a quick note of what last name he was going with...and for the other to pick a first name for him - he might as well. He was going with Shinahara for a last name, he’d sort of randomly picked a last name, he just hoped that whatever first name was picked for him worked well with the last name. He hoped it would have a good meaning as well - as he’d written in the note.
He was leaving it up to Wolframite to pick him a good name….that was something his mother had done, his name suited him and now he had to find another one which would do the same. He’d told him when to meet him here as well - it was time. He’d made his peace and given his parents what he could, there would never be enough time and ways to properly prepare them or comfort them for this.
He’d be ready to change sides, he’d been ready, but he’d needed to prepare others for it. He’d done that. It was now time to fix the wrong that had transpired so many nights ago.
He just hoped Wolframite was still interested in taking him in….in fixing this wrong and making him right. Pressing his hand to the bite mark on his neck he senshi headed back towards his home. Around him frost hung low on the ground as a trail of it followed his feet as he walked, slowly evaporating as he walked.
“Soon.” He whispered into the night air.
