Dovian had just taken the time to personally deliver the weapons that had been ordered by the thieves guild. Over all the transaction had gone smoothly, thanks to his connection to the group a lot of the members knew who he was and because his dad worked closely with the leader it made things easier. Not to mention his sister being part of it.

As he stepped out he reached a hand up to push a few dreads out of his face. He'd worn his hair down for the meeting but now he was more annoyed with it than anything. Dovian paused just outside the door to pat his pockets down in search of a tie for his hair. He had to have one somewhere. It took him a few minutes but eventually he found one in his right hip pouch. As he started to gather his hair up to keep it out of his face he glanced back at the door that lead into seedy bar that the members of the guild liked to do business in, then moved away. He didn't want to be in anyone's way and he also didn't exactly want someone to recognize him coming out of there. His steps were slow as he was occupied with trying to gather all of his hair up into a ponytail.

"So, not just a regular smith, are you?"

Adenah's voice dragged in an almost arrogant way. That night she had come as an emissary of the assassins' guild to strike up a bargain with the thieves guild and founds something a little more interesting waiting for her. Of course she'd chosen to go in through an alternative door; what good killer went through the front? She'd half expected to find a few seedy pickpockets skulking about or an experienced rogue, but seeing Dovian? That was a sight.

That night she was dressed far less flashier than usual. Adenah wore solid black clothing, as well as a charcoal cloak with the symbol of her guild used as a clasp to hold it together. Her hair wasn't as easy to hide, but then again, why should she bother? Wrapped up like this and at night she could pass for any other Oban.

That voice. It made Dovian pause mid step, one hand holding his hair up while the other stopped just short of pulling up the last few dreads. His eyes went to the side, knowing he wouldn't see anyone but trying anyways. A deep breath in and he slowly turned around to face the owner of that voice. Sure enough he saw Adenah. His green gaze took in her attire for the night, not missing the clasp she wore, then returned to her face.

He offered her a half smirk as he finished gathering up his hair and tied it up. "I am a regular smith. I've not specialized my craft. I do orders for just about anything." Dovi was using words to not say anything in particular but not ignore her question. "How are you tonight, Miss Uula" He used the alias she'd given him the first time they'd met. Once his hair was tied up his arms dropped down to his sides and he gave her a small nod of his head.

Definitely a sight. She wasn't exactly mad to see a buff weapons smith raising those thick biceps to gather up his dreadlocks. For a moment Adenah was content to sit back and watch, though curiosity still pulled at her. She'd never really pegged him for the type to lead a double life, so why was he here?

"So long as you're paid it doesn't matter where it comes from?" That was shady for someone with the kind of 'morals' he'd presented when she first met him. Adenah stepped a little closer to Dovian if for no other reason than to better see him in the dark. "I'm doing well, thanks for asking~ Just dropping by to talk to some friends." She smiled and for all the world look as open as if she were happily talking about a new pair of slippers.

"You weren't leaving, were you?"

Those words stung a bit and he gave a visible cringe. "Not quite." Dovian shook his head just a little, making his dreads sway behind his back. "I have a very expensive contract with some acquaintances." He glanced at the door he'd just come out of. The contract was a life one. Loops holes would allow him out of it but that was a very pricey way to go. And also put him in an awkward position.

Looking back at Adenah he noticed that she had gotten closer. He didn't move from where he stood but he did glance behind her at someone who was walking by. Mostly because he wanted to see who it was but also to see if it was a guard. "My business here is done, so I was on my way out. No reason to stay longer than I'm needed, right?" If she was here to meet some friends he wasn't so sure he wanted to know who it was. The symbol she wore was one he recognized but he didn't know the faces of anyone who wore it.

He lifted a hand so that he could just barely touch the clasp. "Nice craftsmanship. Who was the maker?" There was genuine curiosity in his tone as he asked.

Even if she wanted to apologize for her words Adenah couldn't. She had to play this off as nonchalant as possible because she was on the job and very likely being watched. As much as she enjoyed teasing Dovian she took no pleasure in wounding him.

"Suppose not." Adenah shifted her hand under the lip of her cloak to a carved mask that hung on her hip. It was fashioned to resemble a radaku with deep, charcoal coloring inlaid with gold. Putting it on always felt odd to her, but Adenah knew it was for her own safety. If Dovian hadn't been outside she would have already had it on, but a part of her really didn't want to hide from him. Especially because in that moment she thought he might understand.

She was adjusting the ties on her mask when he reached to touch the clasp and her hands hesitated. "You know I can't say." Even if smirk was hidden by the mask her crinkling eyes weren't. "If I had to guess I would say it was something with access to foreign metals. It smells like salt and if you look close enough it has little blue veins like the ocean."

Dovian looked at the mask with a frown. He had to admit he didn't much care for it. Still, there was a moment of pause as he gave another look to the door he'd come out of. He gave it some thought before he brought his eyes back to Ade. "Would you like it if I stayed?" Usually the thieves guild wasn't all that bad to deal with, at least for him, but he had special treatment due to family connections and his contract. Dovi was essentially off limits to them while still being under their protection.

The bit about the clasp did give him some ideas. Of course it would be easy to put two and two together. He'd have to do a bit more asking around but he could find out. Would only be fair since Ade now knew that he was a smith for the thieves guild.

"Interesting.. I don't think its your style." He offered a smile to go along with his words.

"To let you steal all my thunder?" She may have been teasing, but Adenah hoped her intentions were clear enough. If he stuck around where others could figure out a connection between them then he might get drawn into darker things than a contract. It was one thing to talk to him freely in the daylight, but at night the rules changed.

Adenah stepped forward towards the door and took the opportunity to lean in a little closer. "How about meeting up with me after? Somewhere without windows?" Regardless of whether the cloak was 'her style' or not this was Adenah's job. She couldn't dawdle for long under the threat of retaliation, but she still had a few questions for him, as he likely had for her.

He made a snort of sorts as he chuckled at her words. "Alright, fair. Though I don't think anyone can steal your thunder if you don't want them to." Not that he was going to push the issue. Clearly Adenah was a grown woman and was more than capable of taking care of herself. More so than he realized the first time they met. Of course now Dovian was curious as to why she'd picked his pocket to go after. Had she known he had ties to the guild before hand?

When the curvy woman stepped closer to him he stayed put and only let his eye drop down to watch her hands. He had no coin on him to steal but there were other things she could take. Her words gave him some pause though. A place with no windows. He understood secrecy and had dealt with it since he was young so it didn't surprise him that she would now be concerned about being seen speaking with him. Dovian turned his head to look to the side away from her and noticed a member of the thieves guild watching them. That didn't surprise him too much but it did make him frown a bit more. So he turned his head back, this time so he could speak into Ade's ear. He kept his voice low so that only she could hear it. "The room at the back of my forge. I stay there sometimes. I'll leave the door unlocked." He didn't think a lock would be much of a deterrent to her anyways but at least if it was left undone it was a sign she was welcome.

As he spoke to her his hand moved to take the dagger off his belt. It was one he'd made and the design was well known to his own guild. He brought it up and deposited it, still sheathed, into Ade's cleavage like he'd done the first time they met. "If you want to be friendly with them then let them see it. If you intent to hurt someone... I don't want to know. But they may hesitate to harm you if they think you can hurt me." It wasn't exactly a good idea to let someone know that but he kinda liked Adenah. Even if she was tricky.

Adenah gave a little 'hmm' in lieu of nodding her head. The less obvious reactions she could make the better. She'd already pressed her luck by being so friendly around him and continuing their talk in the 'open' was only going to make things worse. It wasn't the thief watching them that she was anxious about, but rather the murderers she couldn't see...

Her eyes widened at his bold move and for a moment Adenah did nothing to remove it. It wasn't as if she really had a 'belt' to attach the dagger too, anyway, but when she let out a little chuckle it moved far too much. So, she gently removed the blade and kept it in hand instead. "I'm just here to collect on a debt; nothing more. So long as they've held up their end of the bargain nothing bad will happen." It wasn't much of a consolation, but hopefully it would ease his mind. He thinks they would hesitate to hurt me because it would hurt him? Oh my~ "I knew you missed me when I'm away~" She reached up to gently loop one of his dreads around her finger only to let it fall away as she stepped past him towards the door.

Collecting a debt. That could mean anything with her line of work, but he didn't say as much. Instead he rolled his eyes at her next words and the way she looped his hair around her finger. Dovian normally would have prevented someone from touching his hair but Ade was different than just anyone. She was a weird friend. "Just be careful. My mending skills are not the greatest." Which was basically telling her that if she was injured severely then she shouldn't waste time going to him as he'd be useless.

When she stepped away he didn't stop her. Dovian only let his gaze move across the street to the thief that was still watching. For some reason he turned so that he was directly behind her. Dovian was big enough that he could put one hand on her hip to let her know he was there while he leased forward, pressing his body against hers, and grabbed the door with the other. "Don't let anyone follow you when you leave." He spoke in a low tone again. Dovi had a legit concern for that one. He also didn't want anyone to see her going to his place thinking she was there to cause him harm. A misunderstanding could be problematic.

For a moment Adenah's grip on the dagger instinctively clenched. She stilled, turning only her sharpened gaze back, but it was the hand on her hip that let her know the 'assailant' didn't mean her harm. Her instincts had kicked in before logic, and while she felt some level of embarrassment about it she also knew that was what had kept her safe.

"Captain's orders." Her tone may have been light, but the low volume was sign enough that she shared his concerns. Those in her line of work tended to make more enemies than friends and considering what she was here for she didn't expect things to go over well.

Gently brushing past his arm, she opened the door and stepped through. A guard was waiting on the other side so she didn't get the chance to look back before he closed it behind her.

Her answer would have to be enough for him. Dovian watched her walk through and the door shut. Once that was done he turned back around and headed his own way. He gave a side glance to the thief from earlier who had been watching them and noticed they were following him. A sigh escaped him but he simply put his hands into his pockets and carried on. Rather than go directly back to the forge where he told Ade he would be he went to his actual residence. No point in hiding that the Thieves Guild already knew where he lived. He went inside and locked the door and that was that.

Or that was what he let the tail believe. Dovi was actually good at sneaking away when he wanted to be. A few minutes passed before he slipped out the back window and quickly crossed the alley to the next street over. It was late so there weren't many people out for him to blend in with but he took on a leisurely pace to give no one any indication that he was trying to get away from someone. Looking suspicious only drew attention to you.

With the thief left behind he made his way to the forge. He had plans to work tonight anyways, so it wasn't like he'd be wasting his time.

When Adenah was done with her business she felt both light headed and as if a great weight had been placed on her chest. Even after leaving the bar the assassin couldn't allow herself a moment to breathe thanks to the 'company' tailing her. She did her best to lead them astray, and may not have been able to had a few others in wardrobes similar to her own not materialized from the shadows. All at once there were four, surrounding Adenah, swooping in close to get the information they needed before everyone split off in opposing directions.

It was enough to distract her pursuer and without a predator on her heels Adenah swiftly made her way back across the city toward Dovian's forge. There was no hiding the smell of blood that clung to her, no matter how much the dark fabric she wore tried to hide it. Without so much as a knock Adenah slipped in the back door and let it close with her spine pressed firmly against it. Only when she was sure that no one was moving outside did she allow herself to breath and take off the mask.

"Before you ask, I wasn't followed; I led someone half way across the city before ditching them completely, though. Persistent p***k."

When Adenah entered Dovian was in the process of removing his apron. One hand moved toward the hammer he'd just set down but when he noticed who it was he stopped. There was a moment where he looked her over as she told him she wasn't followed then he went back to what he'd been doing. The apron was pulled off and draped over the back of the chair in the small room. All the room had was a bed on one side, a dresser, and a two top table and chairs on the other side. Ade hadn't come in like she'd been injured and he'd not seen anything so he didn't seem all that concerned.

"Do you need to wash up or anything?" Dovian pointed to the large pitcher and bowl before he took them and rinsed his hands. Since he'd been working up to that point he was a bit sweaty and covered in soot. "Are you hungry?" He wasn't sure if she'd eaten or if she would have trusted the food at that particular bar so he figured he'd offer. "I don't have much here since its not my house, but I have a little." He was treating the whole thing like he simply had a regular, everyday house guest.

"I'd offer a change of clothes but.." He motioned to the dresser. "All I have is my stuff. Nothing for women in there." Though it did dawn on him that he may want to keep at least one thing for a female around. Just in case they needed it for emergencies.
