 Now that Kadri thought about it, he wasn't sure where or when he'd picked up this bag of kelp flour. And he knew it was strange, but something about it compelled him. Sindri was super judgy about it, but he just didn't understand. Kadri had been taking care of it almost like a pet, or a child. He knew it was just a bag of flour, but he almost felt that it had emotions. So he'd been tucking it in at night, making sure there was food available for it, and patting it affectionately as he went about his home. So it was only natural when it was time for him to meet up and hang out with Laoise (definitely not a date, nope), he brought the bag with him.
They'd agreed on the way back from the mountain resort to meet up again, and today was the day. They were each going to bring their own lunch, plus a cool snack to share. So he'd packed some pickled roe, those little tiny shrimp, and a waterskin full of honeyed freshwater. For the snack, he'd brought his favorite--crispy kelp. He brought his lunch and his kelp flour sack out to the edge of the kelp forest, where he'd agreed to meet Laoise, and sat on a flat rock to wait for her.

When Laoise had returned home, she was in major trouble... more like grounded for a long time. She was deemed missing for a week! Apparently, her being missing gave her father 'ulcers', she was not quite sure what her mother meant by that but it was equated with being fearful for his only daughter's life. But a promise lingered in her mind... a promise to meet up with the young male she met at the V-Day event. His golden blond hair and the seashell purple skin had her youthful heart fluttered and she just snuggles the bag of flour that came home with her.
When the day of the meet came, Laoise looked around. Lately, they been giving her some room to move as to gather things and such. And with fortunate luck, she was able to meet up with a 'friend', but she used that as a excuse. The teenager went the opposite direction, and headed out with her flour sack and a little bag of goodies to go meet Kadri. She was so excited, her green glowed on her out of sheer anticipation. Based on the light of the surface, she was late. Oh, she was so late. It was a hard time maneuvering around her parents before even getting them to let her go to see a friend. But she made it, smiling. "Kadri!" she trilled happily, swimming up to the flat rocks. She sat the flour sack promptly and proceeded to go embrace him with a blush.

Kadri had been nearly ready to pack it in and go home. Had he gotten the wrong day? Had she forgotten? Did she agree only to be polite and had no intention of coming? He fiddled with the corners of his flour sack anxiously.
But--ah--there she was! He stood up and hugged her with a wide smile. "Laoise! I'm so glad you came!" he exclaimed. It was good to see her outside of that strange resort, in their own natural environment. She looked even more beautiful in the lake, with more natural lighting and water surrounding her. Her green markings practically glowed!

"I was grounded. For a loooong time! My Daddy was upset I was gone for a while, so I told them I was visiting a friend. I came here instead," Laoise trilled, smiling widely as she nodded. She moved her colorful sack over so it could sit next to Kadri's floursack. "They are weird. Mine came out of nowhere!" she exclaimed. "Had to keep it from being torn a lot at home. Poor thing."
The seera looked to Kadri, blushing now, her green coloring glowed in following. She then moved to swim around the teen male, showing off her seahorse tail as it unfurls and then furled once more.

Talking about getting in trouble prompted a roguish grin from Kadri. "We--me and Sindri--have managed to fool our parents into thinking we were home the entire time! I'm sorry you got grounded, though, that sucks."
Kadri settled on the seabed and opened his lunchbox, nomming on some seaweed snacks. He offered them to her, then patted his floursack somewhat affectionately. "They are strange," he agreed, "But I like mine. It's almost like having a.....very low-maintenance pet?"
He couldn't help but stare, just a little, as she moved around. Her tail was beautiful, and the way the light and water played off her skin was mesmerizing.

Laoise blinked. "I am Daddy's only girl. He gots two other boys, the morons. My brothers. I'm the baby of the triplets," she sighed, shaking her head as she did a double loop in the waters before gliding over to Kadri, proceeding to take a seaweed snack. "I brought some snackies too!" she pointed at the bag next to her contented flour sack and then opened it, revealing brightly colored seaweed snacks. "We thought same!"
Cookies of Punishment laid there there, propped up against other floursack, its little corners waving in the current of the waters.

Kadri nodded. "Me and Sindri are twins but we don't look alike. We don't even really look like our parents..." He wiggled his eel-fin to illustrate. "They've both got like, fish-looking tails I guess? And then I have an eel tail, and Sindri got legs somehow, like surface Pae." He shrugged. "Oh, and then we have like, a bunch of half-siblings that are way older than us."
"Oh nice!" he exclaimed, clapping. "Love seaweed snacks! What flavor are yours? I've never seen those colors before."Dream WhiteWitz sorry for the double tag I had to fix a typooooo

Laoise looked in surprise when Kadri had begun to tell his tale of his family, with their appearances and how he is a twin, and how his parents. "Huh? Oh! It is salty. I like it, makes your mouth pucker!" the young female giggled, lifting the sack and opened it for Kadri to try. "Crispy, too! I get first dibs on snacks lots of time," she added in, taking a piece and munched on it happily, enjoying the 'sourness' of it from the salt and from the puckering taste.
The teenager glanced over at Kadri, then looked away, blushing.

Kadri took one of the offered snacks. He popped the piece in his mouth and munched on it happily. "Ooh, you're right!" he exclaimed delightedly. "Thanks for sharing. You want some of mine?" He offered the little pouch he was holding out to her.
It was nice to have a real friend. Sindri didn't count, on account of them being brothers, and Quetzal didn't really count either, because he was so much older. Besides, Laoise was so sweet and lovely. Not like Sindri and Quetzal, who always had some kind of comment or joke to make, with their biting sarcasm. Kadri could be like that too sometimes, he supposed. But it wasn't always fun to be around it.
Kadri realized he was sort of staring and blushed. "Er, so what would you like to talk about?" he asked, fluffing his hand through his hair nervously.

Laoise giggled, blushing at Kadri's reaction to the really salty snack she had just offered. "Can a frog be on land too?" she stated as her answer, smiling as she slinked her hand into his pouch, pulling out a crispy seaweed and chewed on it with a thoughtfulness. "This is different! Must be from different seaweed in lake!" the teenager exclaimed, finishing the piece off with relish before looking to the male teenager once more. She noticed he was becoming a bit nervous, the way he was 'fluffing' his hair with his fingers, making it look... may she admit it? Cuter in the process? She hadn't the faintest.
The young female swam closer to Kadri, the neon green stripe on her glowed with a swooning tone. She blinked, and then looked at Kadri in the face. "Uhhh.. had any girlfriends before? she squeaked, looking very shy when she had popped that particular question.

Kadri coughed suddenly, the question taking him completely by surprise. "No?" he said with a somewhat strained tone. What opportunity would he have had? He must have really made an impression on her at the mountain resort. He worried a little that it may have been the wrong impression. He cleared his throat. "Mm, no, no, he repeated, shaking his head and running a hand through his hair again. "I, um, I spend most of my time harassing my brother and practicing lute."
Kadri's flour sack slumped over melodramatically.

Laoise looked at Kadri when he responded once more after the initial response, both gave her a bubbling giggle. "I like you have hair. Can I.. feel?" she hesitantly asked, looking rather hopeful in that aspect. Her brothers had none either, but they were brats in her eyes. All boys were, except Kadri. He somehow redeemed his sex with a kind gesture and not a knuckle to the head or some hard-core wrestling to prove their self-worth. Boys are so gross, particularly her brothers. She bit her lips, waiting in anticipation to his response.

Kadri nearly got whiplash from how quickly Laoise had changed the topic of conversation."My hair?" he repeated quizzically. He ran a hand through it nervously. He'd never contemplated her hair, or lack of it, before. He'd never gotten past her dazzling, glowing skin.
"I mean, I guess..." agreed Kadri, sounding yet very unsure.

Laoise took a deep breath, which she blew out, bubbles fizzing around her signifying her nervousness for the anticipated upcoming act. She moved her hand over to Kadri, pursing her lips Once her fingers touched the strand of hair, she blinked in amazement at the silkiness of it. "Ooh... that is... amazing," the young female whispered, mostly to herself in wonderment.

Kadri blushed red-hot as she approached, feeling more and more self-conscious the closer she got. He knew he could call it off with a word, and yet, he didn't. Didn't want to.
How had he been so self-assured at the dance and now he was a shrinking anemone? He wished he could exude that kind of confidence now.
A nervous giggle bubbled up as she finally made contact. It did feel nice. He'd never paid much attention to his hair before, except when it was in his face, but if she liked it, he'd have to think more about it.
