"Why do I like Nick? Like every other silly girl, it was his looks that caught my attention, but not really in the same way. I like to learn. History is interesting and his class always tends to fall on a free period for me, so I like to listen to it. Had nothing to do with how he looked, though I was very aware that's why he grilled me with questions just like he did the rest of the class. Trying to gauge if my interest was genuine. Than he did it to keep me on my toes. If I was going to keep showing up, he wasn't going to let me get a free ride out of it.
After a time, I guess I started to admire his dedication to his lectures? He's always so professional and straight-laced. And watching him forge is equally as fascinating as listening to him lecture. I just write music, you know? But Nick went the whole length of the field to do things differently and the way he wants to and I admire that. Talking to him about it, he seemed to have a very nice personality. So I offered him myself for a day, out of curiosity to see how he was in private. Meant to be once, but...I guess we both were so intrigued by each other we kept meeting.
But that's all unnecessary backstory he already knows. I'm supposed to talk about what it was about him that kept me going back. Wasn't just because he's good in bed, either.
He's kind where it counts. He always made me feel comfortable and safe and like he was interested in me beyond just how I performed in the sheets. Or else he just didn't care if I left right away or stayed, I don't know. Doesn't really matter anymore. Either way, I like that he allowed me to stay and got to know me as a person. He let me lay out my rules and didn't once try to break one. He doesn't try to force me to do something I don't like. Though he was far too gentle the first time. Not that that's a big complaint when he could have been too rough.
He makes me smile. Not a lot of things outside of my music seems to make me smile. But he does. I love his sharp mind. I love getting into witty comeback debates with him and how he always seems to have an answer back. I love when he gets playful.
He's patient. Just as relaxed about everything as I am. I don't need to worry about any pointless jealousy or craziness, as he equally doesn't from me.
I like that he trusts me and enjoys my presence. Those simple gestures mean a lot to me when most people just get what they want and leave.
And I like that he puts up with my foolishness. I can't really say anything more other than I think he's amazing and it's never been about how sexy I think he is. Bonus! But not why I stick around. You always were more than a sexy man to me, Nick. I enjoy our time together, even if we're just simply in the same room. When you're just quietly working on your papers and we're not talking for hours. When I'm just sitting in your class and listening to you speak like there's nothing else but that going on. I don't need a whole lot going on to enjoy your company."
