Weight: 43lbs

Mineon have a dark dirt colored coat of short fur. It's paws and ears are a dark rock blue, with purple insides of the ears. It's eyes are brilliant sapphire blue, and it's head is surrounded by floating crystals. Many hypothesize that these are different variants of Quartz. There are colored stones adorning most of it's joints. The ones on it's ankles are a darker color than the ones on the knee or hip. It's tail is a long gem structure of bright green, with matching spikes moving up it's back.

The shiny is a more orange dirt color. Brighter blue paws and ears, green inner ear, and yellow eyes. All of the gems are the opposite on the color wheel from the original, including the white forehead gem. The tail and back spikes are a bright orange.

Habitat:

Caves and generally underground. It is unheard of for Mineon to be found above ground unless under a trainer's command. These pokemon are solitary in their movements. They are very prevalent hundreds of kilometers under the ground in cave systems that are a gem hunter's dream. The more prevalent the crystal, the more often to find this pokemon.

Behavior:

Mineon are very solitary pokemon. They prefer to be in the quiet lonesome that are the norm in the caves. They are also incredibly protective. They keep their crystals sequestered in little nests they build into the rock wall. These are their treasure troves.

Diet:

While Mineon are omnivorous, it is also known for Mineon to eat rock and ore that it comes across. Some are specifically attracted to iron or copper ores, while others prefer igneous rocks.

Breeding Information:

Egg group: Field
Gender Ratio: 87.5% male: 12.5% female

While the breeding itself is very seldom due to Mineon's lonely nature, the occasional Eevee Hatchling can be seen in the darkness of mineshafts. While the mating ritual itself has only been witnessed a handful of times, researchers have been able to document with decent enough accuracy. Mineon will go in search of another every couple of years. Breeding only once or twice every other year, males compete for the very few females around. The female will release a pheromone to attract suitable males to her. This pheromone also induces a haze of judgement on the potential suitors... Causing them to bring their shiniest of shinies. The one that impresses the female with the largest unfractured gem is chosen the winner. This does not mean other males may not sabotage each other...

Once chosen, the two will make a nest out of the crystal. Whether it's actually in the crystal or using the gem as a piece of interest does not seem to change the mind of the female. She will lay 1 or 2 eggs, before kicking the male out. She will raise the eggs until the eevee is 1 year old, showing the baby the ropes of the desolate world they call home. Once a year old, the baby is left on its own. Kicked out of the bosom of the mother's nest and treasures.
