Leaving her home of Yael had never been even a shimmer in the back corners of Pruu's mind growing up. Her younger self would have been appalled that she had been able to watch Yael's forests fade into the distance. While not appalled, her current self was still surprised. Of course, it was for a worthy cause. Lines that had come apart long ago were being brought back together again, finally.
She reached into the bag hanging from her shoulder, her fingers brushing along the edge of the last letter she had gotten from her twin. After deciding that having everyone suddenly show up on Kiros might not be the best decision, Pruu now stood there in the territory of Pale’iko to await her sister's arrival. In a mix of concern for the safety of her family and simple selfish need for a more intimate meeting, she came to the location alone. Her outer appearance was as calm and cool as stone, as per her usual. Inside though, nerves tangled deep in her belly with being surrounded by so much of the unknown, but she was keeping those concerns buried deep. After all, making sure no one was following her AND watching for any sign of an ambush was taking every ounce of focus. She had even arrived to the meeting point early, just to be sure. Not the she was worried about Pyrrha planning anything, but neither of them doubted that more than their own eyes had looked upon the pages.
Feeling quite exposed with the wait ahead, she had climbed up one of the pale trees to conceal herself in one of the thicker branches to keep watch from above. One couldn't be too careful...

Leaving her children for the first time since their blooming was a difficult yet vital decision. There was no way Pyrrha could have in good conscious brought them to the main island until she knew without a doubt that Pruu's family hadn't been followed and that it was safe. She wanted to trust them, she so desperately wanted to trust them, but this was about more than just them now. Now that she'd managed to carve a little peace of bliss out in the world for herself she would be damned if anything happened to take it away.
Other elaria had followed as a precaution, but they kindly agreed to remain at a distance. Just within earshot, should Pyrrha need them, yet far enough away so as not to crowd their visitors. It would be impossible not to notice the figures behind Pyrrha as she closed in on the meeting ground, but the sympathetic looks they gave her before they departed were some of the most heart felt. Each had family they'd left behind, and really, if given the chance, would they turn down the opportunity to make up for lost time?
Outwardly Pyrrha was calm. She walked casually across the porous earth, feeling the muck squish between her toes as long, lush grass nipped at her calves. Somewhere out there was her twin, somewhere close, and it almost felt as if her heart would burst in anticipation.

It was like hunting, lying in wait as patiently as she could for her prey to get close. Of course, she wasn't actually hunting, and she certainly wasn't waiting for prey. Still, there was no relaxing or playing around to pass the time. Each snap of a twig or rustle of grass make her perk up, the softest sighs slipping out when the culprit was just one strange creature or another. While it certainly wasn't Yael, she could admit that the view was... decent.
Then that long lost figure came into view, and Pruu felt herself instinctively relax in preparation to move whichever way she needed to. One needed to be nimble and ready to react in such situations... but what was she waiting to react to? As much as she wanted to just run forward and pull her twin into her arms...
Instead, she leapt down from the tree before Pyrrha could get too close; as much to keep herself out of reach as to reduce startling Pyrrha too much. Her eyes were hard and instantly looking for any threat that might rush at her sudden appearance, fingers brushing over the handles of her blades. She could not afford to be soft yet. Of course, tell that to her eyes that were giving way the moment they focused on her twin's face. "Pyrrha.."

Each step that Pyrrha took brought the soft grass she'd been using as a skirt brushing up against her legs. While normally the sensation was something she could overlook today it just brought her nerves to a fever pitch. Her antennae flickered, standing nearly as straight as an alkidike's at times before flexing in on themselves. What if Pruu didn't show up? What if something happened and she couldn't make it? Trust in the wind. It was a beautiful day and the weather favored them so she was giving this her all.
She heard some movement up ahead, but honestly, it could have been anything. When she turned, though, and saw her twin... "Pruu." Pyrrha's voice caught in her throat. She took a half step forward, fully prepared to go to her and yet...something held her back. The elarian saw the blades at her twins side and as much as she wanted to pretend like everything was fine, that things would be smooth and happy, she knew the reality of their situation. Her sister had to be just as cautious as she was.
"No one's going to hurt you here."

Pruu continued to hold her ground, eyes scanning around for signs of trouble one last time. "I believe that you believe that," she stated, slowly rising from her defensive posture. Once she was focused on Pyrrha again, she felt her defenses break even further. Whatever anyone else was planning.. she wanted to be able to enjoy this long overdue reunion. She took a couple steps closer, hands falling away from the blades. Since the other was offering reassurances.. "It is only me. No one else." One hand raised and extended out toward Pyrrha, perhaps the subtlest tremble barely visible as she reached toward her sister, opening up the invitation for contact.

Pyrrha couldn't help sighing. This wasn't how she wanted this to go, but she didn't expect anything less. Pruu had every right to be cautious and that was partly why she'd tried to hold off on this meeting as long as she could. It was all just so...new, to everyone involved.
"I've been followed." She didn't want to start their first meeting in years off with lies. "Three sisters, just shy of the tree line, as a precaution. They wouldn't let me come alone." If they'd wanted her to keep their location a secret then surely they wouldn't have told Pyrrha from the start. They had to have known she would say something; this was her sister, after all, and the only family member she had ever trusted.
Seeing the hand extended out to her....that tremble...it all made Pyrrha's heart ache. Would Pruu even want it now that she'd been followed? Still, she couldn't help reaching out as well and taking her twin's hand in her own. "The stars were kind to you; you don't look as old as I feel."

Pruu huffed and shook her head, giving the indicated tree line only a passing glance. So long as they remained there and didn't try anything, she would tolerate it. "I suppose I should not be too surprised to hear that. I.. am relieved, though. To hear they care for you enough to wish to guard you.." This was part of why Pyrrha had fled after all, wasn't it? Her twin had just wanted a place to feel at home; something to make up for the failed home she had been born into.
She looked down when their hands joined, a wave of heat washing over her entire body. Pyrrha was right in front of her, alive and well... Her other hand rose so that she was using both to hold Pyrrha's, fingers gently brushing over the other's skin as though still in disbelief, using her touch to verify her vision. "I could say the same for you. You look.." finally, a small smile broke the pressed line of her lips, "you look well, Pyrrha."

"It's a change of pace, isn't it?" Pyrrha couldn't help smiling a little sardonically. Back in Zinris she would have been sent out on her own with little care for her safety. At best she may have had one other to check on her days later, but Pyrrha had grown too used to being on her own at such a tender age. Here, though...here she was part of a community that cared. Hopefully Zinris has changed for the better since I've been gone.
It was Pruu's gentleness, that almost hesitant quality, that finally broke through Pyrrha's meager defenses. She took a half step forward and gently pulled her twin close. "Sorry," She murmured into Pruu's dreads. "I've just missed you so much..." Her voice wavered and Pyrrha knew tears were so close to the surface. Her heart was so full that it felt as if it could burst at any moment! Grief over the time they'd lost, excitement at the possibility of new memories, just sheer joy at seeing her sister again...it was all too much!
What started out as a gentle hug so as not to spook Pruu turned into a much heartier grip.

Pruu's body stiffened the slightest bit when she was pulled into the hug, but the tension quickly melted away with intense relief. She felt her eyes watering as she shook her head, her arms hugging her twin tightly back. "I've missed you, too." She sighed heavily in an attempt to fight off the urge to cry. She wanted to savor the moment, not much it up with snot and tears!
She was truthfully content enough to just stand there in silence holding her sister... "I'm so glad you are okay," she eventually murmured.

At first Pyrrha worried that she might be rejected. It had been a while, and despite the warmth of her twin's letters the situation may have been more strained than she was aware of. Thankfully her fears were in vain. As soon as Pruu seemed to reciprocate the hug Pyrrha felt her heart absolutely melt.
"We're stronger than we were ever given credit for." Pyrrha's voice was soft and a little wistful despite the general melancholy of her words. It wasn't just her that had been placed under a careful eye; Pruu had suffered too, in her own ways, and now the world was finally starting to make sense.
"I was so worried. For the longest time I thought about telling you not to come because I didn't know if everyone could handle the journey, but I'm so glad you're here."

"Of course we are," Pruu stated with a snort of a chuckle. "Especially you.." Had anyone ever taken Pyrrha's strength seriously? She had always seen it, but acknowledging it forwardly.. she had been too eager to 'fit in' to do right.
It was time to let the past rest though. She could not forget it, could not forgive herself completely for it, but her twin was now standing there in her arms again, looking healthy and well. There was too much in front of her to keep looking back. With a light snort, Pruu shook her head and straightened herself up in order to see Pyrrha's face. With the slightest smirk, her hand raised to cup her twin's cheek. "I am fairly certain that the journey from Yael to here was the easiest part of this entire endeavor," she mused with a shake of her head. Her other hand rose to cup over the other side of Pyrrha's face and she shook her head again. She could hardly believe it! "I was half expecting that I would get here and find nothing, whether by your choice or insistence from the others... Thank you."

Pyrrha couldn't help smiling like an absolute idiot. Having Pruu this close, touching her cheek, just made all of her dreams feel real! She was finally in a place that made her happy and safe with a family of her own! A new found family that could blend with the family she'd left behind, but had never once forgotten.
"I would never leave if I knew you were coming after me." Pyrrha shook her head; just likely, though, thanks to the sandwiching of her twin's hands. Almost childishly she raised her own and mirrored Pruu's action. For a moment it was just a hold, but slowly Pyrrha smoothed her thumb over the all too familiar markings on her sister's cheek just to make sure they were real.
"There's so much I can't wait to show you. I tried to write as much as I could in the letters, but I was never very good at keeping things...together."

It was like they were experiencing seeing a rare and foreign creature, gazing at each other in shock and awe. Then there was that goofy grin, and Pruu felt her own smile blossom a little further. She had seen that grin before, but there was something different about it as well; such was the entirety of Pyrrha's image. It was lighter, and held a peacefulness that she had never seen before; at least, not since they had been too young to know better. She chuckled lightly and shook her head, letting her hands drop to give Pyrrha's arms a squeeze. "There is only so much that can be expressed on paper. I am eager to learn about the life you have made for yourself." Her smile warmed with a motherly affection. "And your nieces are utterly eager to meet the Elarian behind the letters as well."

As are yours.
"I can only imagine how upset they are at being left behind today." Pyrrha couldn't help the little laugh that slipped out. Children could be so impatient regardless of how important it was to follow an order. Once they had something in their mind they wouldn't let it go! "You made the right call, though; I would have done the same if I were in your situation."
Pyrrha dropped her hands, but only so she could take Pruu's in one of hers. "Would you like to go on a walk with me? We can keep talking while I show you what's safe to eat and what isn't that way your girls won't have to learn first hand like we did."

Pruu nodded slightly. "They understand for the most part, but I do not blame them for being a little.. jealous." She gave the softest chuckle, sadness at their situation tempering the amusement. She had wanted to bring the girls, and her mate... Making the trip alone had been difficult. She had never been away from her family like this, and so far out of reach...
But she knew it would be well worth it. This reunion and scouting would be well worth it. She would rather be the one to face whatever dangers might be around than to learn about them with the girls on hand. Pruu was all for first-hand experience for the girls, but this was obviously different. Akel and the girls could take care of themselves, but there was no need for undue risk. "Yes, I would like that," she agreed, easily allowing their fingers to link together. Not only would the information be good to have, but she could also use the movement now that the big leap had been taken. "Do you suppose we will continue to have an escort?" she asked, her tone more interested than anything else. While she would like privacy, it truly did warm her through and through that Pyrrha had such friends looking out for her wellbeing.,
