Werewolves, the incredibly sexy and powerful species hidden in the woods. They believe that the Moon Goddess has chosen a soulmate for each werewolf, the other half of their soul that completes them and makes them the best they can ever be. However when males outnumber females 6 to 1 it grew really hard to find a mate let alone one chosen for them by the Moon Goddess. Due to this difficulty the Choosing came into the world.
During this time, three human settlements around each Pack's territory were given a deal. All flowered women up to the age of Twenty-five were to participate once a year in the Choosing. This is a ceremonial time where werewolf males without mates sought out either their destined mate among the humans or chose a strong human female as their own. Often times, the human females had little choice or say in their destiny. They couldn’t deny the choosing, and in return the humans received protection from other things that went bump in the night. After hundreds of years, as the female werewolf population increased, it became more of a tradition to hold the Ceremony rather than a necessity.
Then came along Luna Harriet. She'd once been a human whom was forcibly marked, turned and mated by her Alpha Mate at the Choosing. She ran away from her mate many times, and he hunted her down each time. It wasn’t until she protected their pack from attack with a grace and a will that Alpha Ricardo saw his mate as his equal and loved her for who she was instead of listening to instinct.
Under her instruction, the Choosing changed by law in their pack. The Winter Choosing was focused on female werewolves where they were in charge and picked their mates, human or werewolf, so long as their chosen mate accepted their proposal. The Summer Choosing was for the male werewolves to do the same. No one was to be forced to attend and no one was to force another to accept their choice. Recently though, a traditional pack has emerged from the shadows, they want to return the Choosing to what it once was and threaten to wipe out any pack that stands in their way. They believe a true strong Alpha does not ask permission but forces all to bend to their will. War is being threatened and now the Summer Choosing is upon us. If the alphas want to protect their packs and new way of life they may have to fight for it.

This includes elongated claws, fangs, and half human half beast forms. They are extremely hard to control and require a lot of skill and power to maintain. Shifting is painful. Its not some magical fairy tail story of phasing easily from one form to the next. No .. your bones break, move and force themselves into new positions quickly. Your skin itches as fur grows all over and your muscles ache as they stretch and move with the change. It gets easier as you go but will always be painful.
𝖂𝖔𝖑𝖋 𝓢𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖘 - Werewolves are two souls in one. They have a wolf spirit that speaks and guides them through life, help them find their mate, and can sometimes take control of their wolf forms. Though extreme emotions can cause them to surface while in human form too. Under normal circumstances, the Wolf Soul is usually a voice only the specific werewolf can hear. Sometimes the spirit wolf gives their name to their host sometimes they remain anonymous. Humans changed into werewolves find sharing their mind with a spirit unnerving at first but get used to it.
𝓐𝖇𝖎𝖑𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖊𝖘 - Most were wolves don't have any extra abilities other than super strengths, speed and heal very very fast. However a few blessed ones have developed additional abilities that are unexplained. Many of the stronger Lunas have been able to affect her packs moods with her own emotions and are able to calm even a raging were with a touch. Alphas have a commanding tone that only other alphas can ignore and demands respect and orders followed. Healers are rare they have a magical ability to help heal mortal wounds. Other more extraordinary abilities have been recorded in history but they pop up when a need has arisen and are very rare to find.
𝖂𝖊𝖆𝐤𝖓𝖊𝖘𝖘𝖊𝖘 - Unfortunately, just like in legend, silver and wolfsbane are toxic to them. Silver slows the healing process down to even slower than a humans pace and wolfsbane weakens their body as well as mental links. They are unable to use any abilities while poisoned with wolfsbane nor talk telepathically with pack or their mate.

And they all worship her as Mother and Goddess. Humans are about the only species that doesn't acknowledge the Moon Goddess as a deity. Just like human religions many Werewolves have claimed to receive prophecies from the Goddess or been approached by Her in dreams. Those few are lucky to be able to claim such tales. She is the one who sees the best in all her creatures and finds the one soul that could complete the other. Unfortunately she is not omnipotent she can't always see if a pairing can go just as bad as it can be good. Forever the optimist she believes in the best before seeing the worst.
𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖊𝖓𝖌𝖊𝖘 - The history of challenges is bloody and dark like the history of the Choosing. Challenges used to come up any time a werewolf felt insulted and other Werewolves could never deny a Challenge. They also came up for official reasons like challenge for a political position or over a mate selection. To the victor went the spoilers; even if the male or female being fought over didn't want to change mates, they were forced to. Now a days there are only two valid reasons for a Challenge. Anyone can still challenge a ranking member of a pack for their position. In a ranking challenge the challenger chooses the form you fight in while the recipient chooses the location and time. The other Challenge is not to the death but until submissions. These fights are over Mates. The fights happen there in a premade arena and there are already elders present in anticipation of Challenges for both ranks and mates happening. Unlike before, even after the Challenge, the male or female being fought over has the right to choose to be with the winner. However if they chose not to be with the winner, they could not go back to or choose the loser.
𝓗𝖚𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖘 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕮𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖊𝖘 - Once, Werewolves used to offer protection against other werewolves or creatures to certain towns. Those time are mostly over, or so everything thinks. Now a days Werewolves have integrated into some aspects of human society over time. They still prefer to stay moderately isolated away from loud bustling cities. Each pack has their own way of doing things; it all comes down to how the current Alpha and Luna wants to run the pack. However, during the time of the Choosing, a minimum of three packs get together between some smaller towns. Such towns are usually hidden or off the beaten path like the towns of Gainesville and Frankfort.
𝕽𝖆𝖓𝐤𝖘 - Werewolves live in packs. Some as small as 20 or so others as large as 500. The largest pack in the united states hold 1200 member and occupy a small town. The leaders of each pack are called the Alpha and Luna. The Alpha is the protect or and often times enforcer of the pack while the Luna is his opposite; she is the mother and voice of calm and reason. The second in command is the Beta male and female. They assist the leaders in running the pack and stand in when they have to be away. If an Alpha dies and has no heir the Betas take over the Alpha position. Gammas are the third in command and are often the best warriors of the pack. They are in charge of training, teaching, and all forms of education in the pack. Following the 3 leading roles are the Warriors, Healers, and Omegas. Omegas are treated differently depending on the pack. In the old days Omegas were treated like slaves and in some more traditional following packs still are like that. Most packs now a days treat them just like everyone else and see them as members that need protection. Not being strong like the warriors and leaders they are not as useful in fights and wars. However they are great at menial daily tasks to help keep the pack functioning.
𝕽𝖔𝖌𝖚𝖊𝖘 - Rogues are mostly criminals banished or run away from their packs. But a few are pack members who escaped a bad situation, mate, or leader. Not many packs will accept a Rogue into their pack once gone they've gone rogue. It's dangerous as so many are criminals who have done something terrible enough to require banishment. Rogues often pick fights with packs and try to take over the pack. Rogues also have a very low population of women and often try to kidnap females to force mating. Outside of pack wars, Rogues are the biggest threat to pack lives.

Many describe the scent differently depending on what is the most attractive to the individual. The scent isn't enough to lead one to their Chosen Mate; it's not certain until they look each other in their eyes or touch them. Something just clicks in them when this happens and their wolf comes forward calling "mate!"
𝓣𝖍𝖊 𝕭𝖔𝖓𝖉 - Sparks of electricity are felt at every touch and they feel complete and at ease when they are around each other. Werewolves become possessive or protective around their mate and cheating is darn near impossible not only because of the feelings, but being with someone else causes their mate pain. Once a mate bond is accepted they can speak to their mate anywhere telepathically. They can find them anywhere so long as the bond is not hindered by wolfsbane. And they and feel each other's emotions and pain.
𝕽𝖊𝖏𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓 - Chosen Mates are considered a gifted from the Goddess. Sadly the Mother Goddess is not perfect. She only sees the good potential; but lets face it not everyone is prefect all the time. People make mistakes, circumstances lead to hardships. Not everyone is bound by the mating bond, many can resist it. This is usually done for political reasons and treaties. On the other hand, even if you do accept the bond, it is possible to get an abusive mate unfortunately, or one that hates you. That is where the option to reject the Mate Bond comes into play. By rejecting the Bond, the werewolves no longer feel that mystical attraction, the shared pain, or feel the pull of the bond. The other person does not have to accept the rejection either...but once broken it is unfixable.

Due to Gaia TOS we cannot have Mature content. That is why I removed the sexual component of mating. Keep all content according to Gaia TOS so we can continue to have fun! Posts themselves I consider myself lazy lit and sometimes lit, and i expect the same from others joining. I have no post limit post as long as you want but provide at least a paragraph for us to work with. Frequency at least twice a week is preferred but i know real life happens i myself have times where I disappear for longer than expected just come back to us please! or at least remove yourself from a scene lock.

Please read all the info on packs and werewolves carefully before making a character. You can have as many characters as you can control but please keep active with them all.
Only one ranked character is allowed per person though.
Example: You can play a Beta but your next character can not be an alpha, beta, or gamma. They can, however, be a warrior or omega.

Anything in your reserve is information that is "posted" up at the Choosing ceremony. Its displayed knowledge that everyone who can read will know. You will notice a ranking section. There are 6 categories with 10 points each. The higher the points in a category, the higher ranked that skill. Color 1 block for each skill point they have in that section.

Finding your mate allows for one week vacation from guard duty but training is still expected for the pair. Abuse of pack members is not tolerated and is perishable by banishment. Ranking members and warriors do not have outside jobs. Omegas work to keep the pack comfortable. The money to take care of things comes from old inheritances, investments and the Alpha's business. It is his job to care for the pack and ensure they are financially well off. School is not mandatory after one shifts for the first time, especially for ranking or warrior wolves. Respect is demanded from all non-ranking pack member to the ranking members; disrespect is not tolerated and punishable depending on the number of instances.
