Hyperborea sat at the foot of the tree in the part with her staff leaning against her as she waited. She had invited her friend and protégé, Caer Sidi, to meet her in the Destiny City park for a little excursion to her wonder. She had planned to take this trip for a while, she wanted to explore more into her city, and she had scheduled the next day off from work for herself. She knew that her fellow knight had yet to go to space so she figured this would be a good experience for her.
Soon Hyperborea felt the approach of the page of the Cosmos. She stood up to greet the young girl. "Salut Caer!" She called out to the younger woman as she swept her up in a big hug. She felt like she had grown closer over the years she had known the girl Since she first saw her awaken that night at Crystal Academy.
"Are you ready to go?" She inquired releasing the page before offering her hand. She spoke the incantation and the pair vanished from the Earth. Upon opening her eyes she was greeted with the sight of her acropolis as cherry blossoms drifted slowly on a cosmic wind. The stars twinkled above them like countless diamonds in the dark fabric of space with three massive purple stars shinning brighter than the rest. Below them a brightly painted Grecian style city stretched out far.
"Welcome Caer Sidi to the city hidden with the stars, Hyperborea." She said with a flourish.

Caer laughed brightly as she came upon Hyperborea, going into the hug eagerly and with delight. "It's good to see you, Hype!" She said, grinning and squeezing right back.
This was the first time she had seen her friend since Caer's encounter with Monoceros, where he had teased her about a crush. She tried to put the thought out of her mind quickly, because it was ridiculous--Hype was her friend, and even if Caer had come to terms with liking girls when she was twelve, that didn't mean that she was interested in Hype.
Besides, there were more important things.
"I'm looking forward to seeing your Wonder," she said. It would be her first time leaving Earth, and she was excited to see what it would be.
So, she let Hype sweep them off, and gasped in wide-eyed delight when they arrived.
"Oh," she said, softly. "It's....Hype., it's magnificent."

"Merci!" She said a bright smile. She loved showing people her city and she was especially excited to show Caer. She felt like she had grown pretty close to the girl, she would definitely count her as a best friend.
She pointed to the iridescent cherry blossom trees. "Those trees are and were the pride of Hyperborea. During the Silver Millennium people would come from all across the galaxy to view them." She explained giving a small tour of her acropolis before they descended into the city.
"That statue there." She said pointing to the bonze statue of an ancient knight of Hyperborea holding a golden javelin in the air. "Catches the light of the three stars that orbit Hyperborea and uses their light create a beacon directing starseeds on to the Cauldron." She explained point to the three purple stars that stood out against the starry skyscape.
She explained about the home of the knights, the training ground, the temple of the first knight which housed the entrance to her labyrinth, the magical bath's that had healing properties, and her forge the Crucible of Stars. "I think that's everything up here. You ready to check out the lower city?" She inquired with a bright smile.

It was all so much, and so beautiful. Caer was absolutely blown away, and all she could do was stare, in wide-eyed joy, at everything that Hyperborea pointed out to her. She wondered if her Wonder, too, was like this, a glorious city in the stars.
"This is all so...wonderful," she sighed, contentedly, and then nodded. "Yes, I'd love to see the rest of the city, too." How much more could there be, when the Acropolis was so stuffed full? But it was a whole city, and Caer had been on family trips to Paris and Rome and Athens, and of course she knew that a city, even an ancient one, was more than one hill.

Hyperborea smiled as she lead the way down from the acropolis to the lower city. Although the buildings were less ornate in the lower city they were still enormous compared to the humans who walked in front of them. They passed olive trees and statues of countless unnamed knights.
Beautiful flowers lined the stone streets as the pair came upon what looked like an unfinished temple. "Hmm I don't think I've seen that building before." Hyperborea said looking to her friend. "We should check it out."

Caer Sidi sighed, contentedly, drinking in the absolutely lovely scenery around her. There was something special about this, getting to walk these ancient streets next to Hyperborea, and knowing that she was surrounded by thousands of years' worth of magic and history.
In front of the temple, she blinked, curiously, and looked over at Hype. "You've explored this place so thoroughly--I'm surprised to hear that there are still places you haven't been."

"I am too." She admitted, she thought she knew most of the city but she supposed given how big it was it was evitable that even with years of exploration she would still find little hidden away corners of the city she had never seen.
"It looks like it was supposed to be a temple, but it was never finished for some reason." She looked over the columns that should have supported a roof but were left open to the starry sky. "The Hyperboreans worshiped their ancestors, and knights had a special place of worship. They weren't quiet viewed as gods but something like that." Hyperborea explained.
"This must have been a temple to honor some knight." But why was it unfinished, where was the statue of the knight for worship, the mosaics of their deeds that she had seen lining the walls of other temples.
She did notice the base for where a statue should be. As she got closer she noticed a small object wrapped in cloth. Hyperborea picked it up and gently uncovered the object, she was shocked at what she found. The beautiful gem had a glowing purple core and a dim iridescent aura surrounding it. "It's a Starseed!?"

Caer nodded along with Hyperborea's explanation, following her into the temple. "The way that the Tuatha de Dannan weren't quite gods, really, but were certainly held above men?" She asked, idly. With magic and such being real, Caer had found herself on a bit of a rabbit hole expedition of what little survived of Celtic lore, given the origins of her own Wonder, and so here she was, with facts to spout. It felt nice, to feel like she could contribute something.
She followed Hyperborea to the statue pedestal, bare of the figure that was intended to inhabit it.
"A starseed? I didn't know they could last for so long, with their lights still intact,"
her voice was soft, and more than a little wondering. "Whose do you think it is, then? The Knight this temple was meant to honor?"

"Exactly. Like them or the saints, or the Japanese kami." She agreed. "All of whom I'm pretty sure are senshi." She joked.
"I have a guess." She said turning the starseed over. She had heard about this before, years ago from Babylon.
"Theseus!" She called out. "Come here! I know you can hear me." The ghostly giant always seemed to be lurking just out of sight to her.
Soon the giant ancestor appeared before the pair his golden helm obscuring his stoney face. "Kore, you called?" The giant asked carefully, clearly uncomfortable with his surroundings.
"Who's starseed is this?" She demanded. The giant turned away sighing. "It's your's, isn't it? Why is it here?" Hyperborea pressed.
"If you already know why ask." Theseus responded wearily. "Yes that is my starseed. Kore, you and your friend should let old bones lie. You have no need to be here."

Caer Sidi gaped in pure, unadulterated shock. There, before her, coming at Hyperborea's call, was a ghostly giant, a man so large it was a brief struggle to recon it. But then, the grand scale of the buildings made more sense, now, if this was the sort of person who had lived here. Certainly she had seen magic before, and she know ancestors were a thing some Knights had, but this was her first encounter with one, and it was rather a lot to take in. Especially since she found herself briefly distracted, thinking about how tall Hyperborea was, and if that was related to her being descended from giants.
So she was silent throguh the entire exchange, but when it was over, she frowned slightly.
"But...if it's your starseed, is that what's holding you here? What has been holding you here for the past thousand years?"

Theseus turned to look at the guest of his young heir. Ancient eyes waivered, a memory of an old flame, of times of passion in a lone tower adrift in the Cosmos. He knew the girl or rather he knew who she used to be . She shook off the thoughts he knew well enough this girl was not the woman he had known, the knight he had loved. No she was a new being and one who had gained the companionship of his heir.
"Caer Sidi of the Cosmos, you will learn that there are questions that should not be asked, old wounds that must not be reopened. My starseed is here because I will it to be, you children need know no more." He concluded intending to end the conversation there however his successor clearly had other plans.
"Theseus this is wrong, you know a starseed should not be left here. It's already degraded this much, it needs to return to the Cauldron before it loses its light forever." Hyperborea insisted.
"Kora, I said let it be. You have no right to be here. You have no right to intrude upon my past." He growled in a warning tone, his patient wearing very thin.
"It's my wonder. You have to move on its the natural order of the universe you deserve to be reincarnated like everyone else." Hypeborea countered.
"YOU KNOW NOTHING! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL ME WHAT I MUST DO!" He snapped at the young girl, his voice booming like thunder. "I won't be told about the natural order by suckling babes." With that he vanished refusing to have any more discussion on the matter.

Caer Sidi was silent through the entire exchange. tHe whole time, her skin crawled with the feeling that she shouldn't be here, that she was witnessing something unknowably private. A dispute between Knight and ancestor that belonged first to the two of them.
She tried not to flinch when Theseus yelled, but didn't entirely succeed, and it took a moment for her to steady herself emotionally after it was done and he was gone.
"Is he normally like that? With such a hot temper?" She asked, shivering a little.

"No, he can be stubborn and even an a** but he's normally alot calmer and in control of his emotions." Hyperborea said with a shake of her head. She had to admit even she was a little taken aback by Theseus' outburst. "I'm sorry you had to see that. This wasn't what I had in mind when I invited you here." She said a bit glumly.
She gently put the starseed back in its resting place. "He's wrong. A starseed shouldn't be kept like this. I had had my suspicions that his was still here somewhere but I never knew for sure. Starseeds are part of cycle, and he's forced his out of it somehow." She explained sorrowfully.
"He needs to move on, I wish it wasn't case. He's been such a big part of my life. But it's just wrong to keep lingering here." Hypeborea was more speaking to herself than to Caer at the moment before she shook her head. "Come on lets get going. We can come back here another time but for now lets let the dust settle." Hyperborea said offering the girl her arm so that she could teleport them back home.

Caer Sidi nodded, glancing back at the starseed on the altar. "How sad, to be stuck here like this, for all that time."
Especially if he'd known Hyperborea when it was alive, and full of people...she couldn't imagine lingering on as a ghost in Destiny City long after the people were gone. It sounded like a miserable, lonely prospect, and not one she wanted to think on for long.
She linked her arm with Hyperborea's, turning away. This was Hype's wonder, and it was her job to figure out what was going on with Theseus, she supposed.
"It wasn't all bad. I'm glad I got to see the city, and I think I want to go see my own Wonder soon. But yes. Let's go home," she agreed. Better to get out and let things lie for a while.
