 Cody looked around as he left his apartment, he was heading onto a grocery run which as he hadnt filled up the fridge yet. He went to the store and left with a couple of bags, but as he was walking home, he noticed something in an alley. He stopped and noticed a canine, laying in box, it seemed a bit matted, abandoned it seemed. He walked closer and could see the wolf like dog had no collar but it didnt seen wild. He carefully approached and noticed it needed help so he decided to go and gently picked up the animal, carrying it gently home. Once home, he laid out some towels in a bundle and made some cooked grilled chicken with some water, setting the bowls by the canine so it can eat, "Alright, there you go, eat up, you need to get your energy up." He said but then grabbed his phone, he began calling local shelters seeing if someone had a missing dog that matched the description of the one he found.

 Harley, a wolf hybrid from a world of magic, had been in this world for a few weeks now. She was starving as she was unable to catch her food herself as there were barely any squirrels, or anything of the sort, for her to hunt. She was missing her owner as well, and had been trying to find a warm place to stay during her time there. She was scared of the strange metal horses on the black white/yellow lined roads. She was freezing as it had snowed the night before. Her fur was matted as she lay in a box to try and help protect her from the cold wind and snow that was on the ground.
That was when Cody found her on his way home from the store. She was cautious as he took her home like he did, but when she saw the grilled chicken and water being placed in front of her, she sniffed at it, before she wagged her tail eating it happily and drinking some water. While he was on the phone, trying to find her owner, she tilted her head not sure if she could trust him with her ability to talk telepathically. She'd have to wait and see about that. She had no collar since everyone knew who she belonged to back home, but here she didn't know who she could trust and who she couldn't.

He finished up the call and found that no shelters had reported any missing animals but asked if they could call them if anything came up. He sighed and hung up but would then noticed that the canine finished eating. He went and got a wash rag and a small bucket as he helped clean the canine, "Im sorry that i cant find your owner girl... you seemed well mannered so you had to have one, either that or youre just clever. Either way, we will get you home alright." He said gently figuring she must have had to have had one, either way, he figured getting her fur cleaned would be nice, which once clean, he smiled, "There you go, feel better?" He asked kindly.

Harley felt so much better after she'd had a bath and the mats and filth were taken out of her fur which was shorter on her body than on her head and tail. She was born that way, so it was no wonder that she was freezing out there. She had to admit that Cody was very gentle as she was given a bath, he even made sure that she was comfortable in the apartment. After she was dried off, Harley lay down on the floor next to Cody as she wasn't sure if she'd be allowed on the furniture like back home. She didn't want to chance anything here and ruin things with this man. She looked up at him a bit, as he kind of reminded her of her owner. She wasn't quite sure but she wondered if he could be the sorceress she belonged to in another dimension.

He saw that she did seem happier now that she was clean, she seemed like a breed that had shorter hair and had probably been colder outside. He went and put the stuff away before going to sit on the couch, but he saw that she had followed him and sat by his feet. He thought it over, she didnt seem to shed all that much so he sighed softly and gently patted the couch next to him letting her climb onto the couch. He figured that as long as she didnt tear up the couch, she was okay to be on the funiture. When she jumped up, he would gently pet her behind the ears, she was surprising big for a canine but seeing a bit of wolf in her, he wouldnt be surprised, some breeds of wolves are huge as he learned looking up vids of them.

Harley's tail wagged as Cody pet her after jumping up onto the couch and laying next to him. She had to do her best to act like a normal dog, even though she really was one that could talk telepathically. She didn't want to freak Cody out, as he seemed genuinely nice. She looked at him with a wolfish smile on her face as she stayed cuddled up to him. She was comfortable next to him and felt warmer than on the floor. As he was petting her, he found her sweet spot on the back of her neck and she said "Oh yeah! That's the spot!" by accident. She then realized what happened and could only hope Cody would think he was hearing voices.

Cody smiled as she wagged her tail and would cuddle up against him as he was looking at his phone, rubbing her absently as he scrolled through but when her voice popped in his head, he blinked and stopped rubbing her head but had begun to check whatever he was looking at because he thought it had been what spoke. He didnt realize it was her and had begun checking if he clicked some vid or ad that played sound or some kind of voice, and the fact it was a female voice he hoped the spot mentioned wasnt anything worrysome to have been looking at.

Harley, seeing Cody's reaction was relieved that he wasn't suspecting her just yet. She looked up at him when he stopped petting her leaning against him with a wolf like smile on her face as she panted a little. She tilted her head at his device though, wanting to look at what he was looking at. She'd never seen a cellphone before let alone any kind of phone, so this was a new experience for her. She sniffed at it wondering what he was dong on it and what it was called as she almost climbed into his lap trying to figure it out. She was very smart thanks to her owner. Though Harley missed her mistress dearly, she could tell that Cody would keep her safe until the sorceress could get to Harley, if she could anyway.

He felt her lean against him and saw her looking at his phone but he took this as she wanted more pets as apposed to him looking at his phone which he turned it off and set it aside as he would pet her, "Already an attention hog huh girl?" He asked playfully petting her gently but playfully but would think it over, "I need to think of a name to call you huh?" He stated thinking it only seemed right then just calling her girl or dog.

Harley tilted her head a bit before she let out a small howl like bark to try communicate with Cody without using her telepathy. Since she was considered a wolf hybrid in this world, even though she looked a lot like a husky with a thin coat on her body and a thicker coat on the top of her head and tail, she couldn't be off leash outside. She was used to doing her business outside, so that wasn't an issue. As Cody pet her, she pawed at his hand a little trying to act like she was more husky than a wolf. She did have some dog in her family, so she hoped that she could pass as one. Harley was very sweet and loved to run around though she wasn't sure how she could do that in the city. She wasn't sure of anything anymore. Though she looked happy, she hoped that her mistress was alright.

He noticed she tried a small howl and such but realized she probably had to go out, but as he pawed at him, he realized she should probably be taken for a walk but he didnt have a collar or leash for her. He knew their was a small dog park around the corner from his apartment but he didnt have a collar or leash til he remembered his neighbor. He went and got up, leaving his apartment for a moment before coming back, luckily they had a similar sized dog with a harness with leash that he would walk over to her, gently clipping it as the harness wrapped around her in front and behind her front legs. When the leash was clipped on, he smiled, "Alright, lets head to the dog park and then over to the pet store so i can buy a proper harness and collar for you alright." He stated softly yet kindly as he would walk her to the elevator and they went downstairs and out towards the dog park.

Harley walked next to Cody, as they headed to the dog park. She knew that he wouldn't be able to understand her if she barked and howled at him, but she didn't want to give away her secret just yet. As they got to the dog park, she would wait for him to unhook the leash before she felt the wolf in her come out and she took off running to play with the other bigger dog breeds and having the time of her life. She'd check in with Cody about every 10 minutes, with a wolfish smile on her face as she did so. She had her tongue sticking out so far at one point it was coming out the side of her mouth as she panted. After a little while, she came back over to Cody, nudged his hand, and looked up at him with sweet eyes as she was ready for the next leg of their journey together.

He watched her run around and play with the other dogs, she seemed like she was having so much fun. When she finally seemed to be happy with her run around, he helped leash her back as they would then head off to the store. He bought a proper harness, collar and one of those extension leashes that could retract and pull out extra leash if needed. When he got to the tag, he looked at the screen, "What should I name you?" He asked to himself, but unknownly to him, it was like a whisper in his mind, the name Harley came to mind or so he thought but he looked at her and smiled, "Harley... I like Harley." He said not realizing still that she 'telepathically whispered' it to him but he just assumed it was just his brain thinking of a female name and he had watched bayman recently, maybe Harley's name was stuck in his head. Either way he paid for the stuff and got her a couple of toys and a nice bone. Once paid, they would head back to the apartment where he put the new tag on the collar and put it on her, smiling before he left the apartment for a moment to go return the borrowed harness and leash.

Harley was laying on her new bed that Cody bought for her to relax on whenever she didn't want to lay on the couch. She had gotten some water while Cody was gone, before she went to lay back down. She had to admit that the life of a normal pet wasn't as bad as she thought it to be. She chewed on her bone until she heard Cody returning. Once she knew it was him, she wagged her tail happily at him joined him on the couch snuggling close to her new friend. She enjoyed Cody's company as he reminded her so much of her mistress. The only differences were that he wasn't a magic user and he was a male.

wink Cody walked over and sat on the couch as he would find that she jumped up and cuddled to him, he smiled and would gently brush his hand from the top of her head gently down her back. He kept petting her like this as he leaned back and watched a movie, "This is actually rather nice that youre hear Harley... its nice having some living creature to come home to." He stated softly as he felt it was better company then he could ever ask for.
