Siv sat in front og her computer, chewing on a striock of dried meat as she went to check e-mail, fingers dancing over the keys lazily, enjoying the lazy day before her.

She had no plans, and she was mostly doing 'responsible' things to check her next tabletop game before diving into her Steam library, but the tranquility of the momenty was pleasant enougfh as she looked over the subject titles and senders in her e-mail, pausing once when she spied one.

You have a Match!

Siv paused. As far as she knew, she'd been put up for adoption because her biological mother wasn't ready for her, and Siv was better off with the Courcels, but she never ran a DNA test on herself to figure out her genetic makeup. She knew the man her mom had married wasn't her father biologically, which meant....

Which meant....

"....Oh.... Oh God." Siv's hands rose to cover her mouth as her eyes went wide and she gawped at the subject before slowly reaching, opening the mail.

His name, for a moment, didn't matter. He had a photo with the website registered, white haired and blue eyed with a bright smile and similar face, and Siv felt herself begin to shake as she stared. How did she use this information? E-Mail him? Would he want that? Surely he knew he made a match too. Did he want a daughter, or was he doing it for genetic predispositions? Maybe he'd be angry, or upset, maybe he wouldn't care he'd fathered a daughter.

Yes, that made sense, he might not care. She was no child, she was a grown woman, and that grown woman shjakily backed out, looking down at hey keyboard as she swallowed, until she managed to look at her E-mails again, from the top, and blanched seeing another subject line she'd mistaken for spam.

Hi.

His e-mail. He knew. He knew oh, God he knew and Siv seized, blinking beforte reaching, opening his e-mail with a trembling hand. Slowly, her eyes began to parse the e-mail, rereading each letter and word fearfully.

He was curious. He was... Excited? He was thrilled, he wanted to meet her? Siv bit her lip as she felt her eyes sting. How did she answer? What did she say to him?

What diod she want to do?

Once, Siv wanted to meet her parents, top know why she was fiven up for adoption in the first place, she supposed -- and learned her mother had no idea whaere her father went. And now here he was, enthusiastic and happy and...

He wanted to know too, what he begat, because... She reread the line.

Because she was his only child. And family, bar a friend. Siv's hands shook. She.. Wanted to talk to someone but.. She wanted to meet him, too. Siv slowly reached, beginning to type. Maybe she could contact Hiroyuki, or Matt, or...

Damnit, she needed her own friendfs. She couldn't keep this s**t up -- as much as they didn't seem to mind, she really needed her own friends. Her little sisters had their own friendfs!... Maybe she was defective? Siv sighedm, withering in place as she looked down at her keyboard before finishing her E-mail, and pulled out her phone, textying Matt. Hiroyuki was wortking, but Matt? Matt was not, and Siv got up after sending the text to get pants and a coatt on, shaking her head. Matt might at least understand... Give her someone to talk to, and in a flash she was off for a meeting place. She needed someone to talk top. Bad.
