First off, fruits is not a style, it is a name of a book and a magazine. You can be punk, high fashion, lolita, decora, gal, goth, ethnic, whatever, and all these styles are "FRUiT", since they are featured in the magazine / book!

Anyway, I've had some stupid comments, but mostly people just stare. A lot. And long. But they never say anything. Even if they did, I wouldn't care... I have a rather good self esteem.

Oh yes, one day some guy asked me "Did you visit the castle yet?". We have a medieval castle in town, so I guess the guy thought that all freaks must like old castles... or they thought that I'm a roleplay geek.

The comment could also be that castle is code for happy house, loony bin. xd
That was sadly funny. People these days. talk2hand

I think the most annoying thing someone did to me, was they were pointing at my stockings, I layered them, and he kept going to his friend "look man, look"
And I go "Do you want my legs to do a trick and kick you?"

Probably the most out of line thing i've said to someone who was trying to make fun of my clothes. Because he really can't say anything, when he has the Don King fro going on. rolleyes

Eh. I don't have enough clothing to really Loli out on a daily, or even quasi daily, basis. The last time I actually did was when a friend of mine wanted me to go to see Brokeback Mountain over winter break with her. Since my family lives in Houston, it was mild enough to get away with a skirt and stockings for the day, so I put on the frills, lace and velvet and we went on out to the theatre complex.

We ended up going to a cafe beforehand to eat lunch, and the sweet little Vietnamese lady who ran the place was really polite to me and my friend and sort of ignored one of the other customers there. XD

She kept bringing us magazines, and asked if my clothes were part of the "School Downtown's Uniform". Either she meant the Catholic girls' school or the British escalator school, I'm not sure. But she was very polite and seemed really curious.

As for stockings comments [I love stockings], I've gotten a variety of comments on how I wear them. My brother told me I looked like a hooker because I had red socks pulled up over red fishnet over white tights under a skirt. It was a plaid skirt. And a perfectly decent length. So he can kick off.

The same combination, with leg warmers added on, was worn this past Valentine's Day for kicks.

I love red.

One girl called me a slut as I walked past her in the cafeteria [Skirt didn't show anything extreme, and I had a long, duster jacket on, anyway. I guess the fishnet did it?] but I ignored her comment as her jeans had holes at her hips, thighs, butt and knees and a tank shirt cut so low that I feared there'd be an avalanche. That same day, in that same outfit, another girl praised my outfit as "totally rockin'!" and suggested I add hearts to the tops of the legwarmers where there were little red bows already placed.

I myself have never gotten too many comments. However, this weekend I went to an anime convention where I met a couple of other lolitas and we all went to the Mall for dinner. Two of them (Beth and Lynn) had very nice and elaborate dresses (Beth actually looked a lot like Mana), and the other (Nicola) also had a really nice dress, although a little more sweet (I think she was going for a Red Riding Hood thing, and someone actually called her on it too, which she thought was totally cool). I was dressed up as well, but much more casual like ^^; We had many comments, most of which we just laughed at. Several people assumed that we were going to be in a play, one lady even asking us. A guy actually said 'Look! Guy's in dresses!' as Beth and Lynn walked by. Beth got asked if she was Jewish (I didn't get that one), and Nicola was asked if she was Amish ^^; Other than that, we had a couple of 'damn!'s and an 'Oh s**t!' or two, and someone yelled 'Freaks!' out of their car window as we were walking back to the hotel. I suppose on some level, it's annoying, but more than that I find it amusing ^^;

I've actually never gotten anything bad yelled at me. Sometimes it brings stares, but nothing horrible.

Some people actually say "That's really cute!" or ask to take a picture. I was walking down the street in my red plaid loli dress once, and someone was photographing a building and turned around... t'was funny. Then again, it was Berkeley. XD

My chem and bio teachers think it's adorable. ^_^

Yeah, living near S.F. and Berk has its perks.

Mr. Pence rocks. ^___^

I sometimes go out in lolita for fun. This one time I wore my imported white lolita top, my past-the-knee-length Hello Kitty skirt with white lace, lacy white knee-high socks, and platform dress shoes. Oh, and with pigtails, so I had a cute theme going. I got some stares (not bad ones, I don't think), and some smiles actually. A couple women who were shopping with their daughters in the San Rio store said I was cute. And an older asian couple shopping together stopped and smiled and watched me in the game store.

It made me feel good. X3

When I go out in casual lolita I usually get comments from women who say my outfit is cute, but other than that, I don't get any bad comments or anything.

But then again, a lot of times I do get checked out in my gothic lolita dresses. T-T;;

ive had stuff yelled at me, not while i was loli though.

funny thing funny thing.

last week while i was walking home with me bf we got yelled at by elemantry school kids on the bus.

i was wearing a purple tank top thing (verry pretty with hearts and french s**t on it), a croped long sleeved black swater thing (it was cold a few weeks ago, it basically only covered my arms though), a purple ribbon choker, a black tu tu like skirt, opaqe black tights with purple socks pulled up under knees and my a** kicking boots.
my bf was wearing a long black coat i so generiously purchased for him.

my walk home is the same as the bus route. his lazy a** for not leaving sooner made it time for the elemantry bus to come and they yelled from the windows "you shouldnt use black its baddddd" and "are you depressed?"

it was pretty funny. me and him were laughing the whole time, but even before that we were smileing and talking to each other. there was a stop were the bus got so close they were verry loud "are you depressed?" and he just said "dont you see us smileing?" and i traced my smile with my fingers in my charming gofey way. it was funny.

one other day a car gave a slight honk. i wear skirts and boots. i work out alot and have beauitful shapeley legs. on top pf that i have a tiny waist and am fairley racked. my face is pretty unique. no matter what i wear some people think im horeish some think im not. i dont care, i dont act like a whore, if looking so damn good gets me that title im fine with that.

The most I've gotten are people whispering, pointing, and just plain out staring.
Sometimes I'll hear somebody go" Look at that" .. and actually I give people the happy finger or point to my arse. I'm not very nice
Or I ask if they want a picture, just yell things back.
Actually when I go out with my grandmother(yes my grandmother) she laughs at it too
Sometimes she even gives comment to people
It's fun though and makes me laugh like mad. It's all in a days work heart

I only have one lolita dress, and I wear it often at school, and the people at school are pretty cool about it. Teachers never say anything... Even though it's to short for the dress code XD But one time I was wearing it and after school some friends and myself went walking downtown, and LOTS of people said they liked my dress XD it was funny. But I was near a hairdressing school, and there were a lot of cool people there. I think two people asked me if I was in a play or something. ><
I love attention. heart

Wow.

Honestly, I used to get more rude comments when I dressed punk and rode my skateboard around town.

But now... I get looks.. and most people say, "Awe, cute!" or they look disguisted... but those ones don't usually say anything. I only once got a, "Ugh, slut!" but that was from a mean girl, whome I know is heavy into drugs and alcahol, so it's okay. She has a horrible life anyways, so I doesn't bother me like it used to.

Yeah, most people perceive it pretty well.

I've gotten called a whore a few times. I don't wear Loli to school, mainly because I don't have anything nice to wear. But I got called a whore once, and another time my old friend borrowed my thigh-high rainbow stockings and we went walking down a street (a busy street) and we got honks, and a man walked by and he kept staring at my friend's legs. xd

I don't seem to get too many negative reponses. Sure, some people in school tell me that I have no fashion sense, that it look hideous, etc., but most the comments I get are positive. Some people that don't like what I wear still respect that fact that I wear what I want without worrying about what other people will say to me.

I never wear any elaborate dresses, so most people end up focusing on my shoes anyway. xd "I wore shoes like those in the seventies!" "How can you walk in those shoes?" "How high are they?"
